Yiu are a life saver. My back has been kiling me for months now (i have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in September). Couldnt sleep last night because of the pain. I watched this video 2 in the morning . Followed your instructions and finaly managed to sleep.
WOW💥🎯💥 I came across this video right before going to bed last night and had to watch it because those are exactly the areas where I feel pain. I sleep on my side and decided to try sleeping with a folded hand towel under my waist. Oh my goodness! For the first time in I don't know how many years, I woke up...and got up...without any lower back pain or stiffness. AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH! GOD BLESS YOU! 💖👏🏻🤗💖🙏❣
YEEEESSSSS, Rose! This makes me so so happy! I'm glad these tips helped you so much! Thanks so much for sharing your story and commenting on this video!
Totally agree with all advice you gave, thanks. I have been adopting those postures for years being a chronic back sufferer. Unlocking hip flexes are something I fear I'll never be able to achieve but it's vital to me I get a good sleeping position
My sister told me a long time ago to go to sleep in the same position that you woke up in because that is your most comfortable position to sleep in. I have been doing this ever since. I do not move at all when I sleep, I stay in the same position all night long! No tossing & turning for me!
Too much work for me. I would be up all night adjusting pillows, picking them up off the floor or I could try not moving and stay awake focusing on no moving.
I totally understand what you said. Thank you for this right information. One thing I liked is genuine information you didn't forced anywhere to show yourself right. Again thanks.
3 months ago I had a hip replacement. The physical therapist told me EXACTLY the same things. The surgery went well, and I was home the next night, BUT, in a different bed. I have suffered with a REALLY sore back every morning until I watched your video. NOW I realize what I have to do. I have to adjust these positions to the big king-size bed at home. Thank you sooo much.
Thanks for the tips. I sleep mostly on my back and can definitely feel the discomfort in my lower back and hips. It feels like my legs are lower than my torso, so I will definitely look at using a pillow under my legs. Thanks again!
Thank you, Mister! Well astute. Definitely have been practicing what you shared and my sleep has been far more comfortable and there has been less pain waking up. Thank you again, Sir.
You must be able to hear my thoughts on trouble-shooting my neck and shoulder pain! This video was medicinal and I am ready to “pillow up” for all areas of support… Thank you, thank you!
I soooooo needed to see this video. I'm a side sleeper with two bulging discs between learning how to sleep better and the exercises you show on other videos, I can sleep better at night without so much pain in the mornings. Thank you.
It's quite easy if you force yourself to lie flat every night, you will get used to it. My unbalanced shoulder became balanced by adjusting my sleeping position 🌱
Wow I’m a side sleeper and have always put a pillow in between my knees but not under my waste. I tried it and fell asleep instantly!! So much pressure released. Thank you 🙏

I'm a side sleeper and I have at least 8 pillows on my queen size bed but I don't use all of them but my favorite is the one he said was the best pillow and I also have a pillow that I put under my lower back but I have a sense of security doing that... I'm paying close attention to these videos...I was waiting for a in home physical therapist but it's been 3 months and then I discovered these videos...God Is Good All The Time and All The Time God Is Good 🙌❤️🙌
I just bought a new mattress for the first time in my whole life. Actually, my mattress was older than me. 28 years old. Now, I can combine a new mattress with a good sleeping position! Yay!
I have four fused vertebrae in my neck and sleep on my side. I also have a spinal cord injury. I use a buckwheat hull pillow that has a zipper, and by adding or removing the hulls, I can attain a neutral position with my spine. Pillows are essentially a fixed floating device on a mattress. What may feel right on a firm mattress will not be the same as on a pillow top mattress because the body and shoulders sink in more. I have struggled a long time with mattresses and pillows over the last 35 years living with the neck and spinal cord injury and a buckwheat Hull pillow is the best support for my neck while sleeping I have encountered. Granted I have a very fragile and sensitive neck but thought I would offer the above insights that may help others with a similar problems.

I was having back pain when sleeping and found your video and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad i did no more back pain after a week sleeping with the pillows under my legs now I sleep pain free. THANK YOU 🙏
Your video popped up randomly in my suggestions - great stuff! It answered a bunch of questions I barely knew I had, about back and knee problems I struggle with. Thank you! 🙏
Same here. I'm a young guy and both American and Indian doctors tell me I shouldn't be having disc issues in my lumbo-sacral and cervical regions. I do now understand after watching this video why everytime lying down on bed in supine position eases pressure on my lower back as soon as I fold my fingers as if I'm going to punch somebody and place it under my lower back. Earlier spine used to "pop" and give instant relief from any pain but for quite some, I notice no popping at all. What's the issue with your knees? I see you may be German or Swedish. Is it because of the cold weather you have?
Superb !!! I used to love sleeping on my right side. Noticed something was not good ... as I am a yoga lover, I noticed that sleeping on my back using a round bolster beneath my knees felt sooooo much better. Wished I knew this many years before. Anyway huge thanks for this excellent explanation 👍🙏
Sleeping on your back: sleep paralysis Sleeping on your stomach : compasses organs. Sleeping on one side: heart burn. LOOKS LIKE IT'S NOT HEALTHY TO SLEEP?
Damain Iyke Maybe that is why we naturally move and change positions all night long. There isn’t a “good position”. I tried the pillows everywhere, rolled bath towel around the waist, but in the middle of the night, everything moved around.
Thank you; as always love the details that help one understand the reason and logic of what you are explaining. Gonna check out the pillow; as well as the pillow under the waist area when side sleeping. I have scoliosis, with my right hip is higher than my left so now wearing a shoe lift in my left shoe to limit the progression; and trying to find a good mattress as well as way of sleeping so I’m not having back pain while sleeping and upon waking. Thanks again for all your great videos and love that your wife is your assistant! 😊

I've seen pictures of myself as a baby sleeping in all types of weird contortionist positions and it seems to have stuck with me to this day. Old habits die hard so if there are any new parents out there, have your baby start out sleeping the right way!
An eye doctor once told me that 2 things I don't want to "go cheap" on is my sleep (bed, pillow, mattress) or my vision (glasses/eyewear). I understand now that I'm in my 40s! ❤️

Recently I developed a back pain which made my sleeping very painful. After following your instructions on sleeping on side and back has got rided of most of pain, thank you
Great video! Yes, I was a stomach sleeper well into my thirties, couldn't fall asleep any other way. However, trained myself to sleep on my side and yes I love the extra pillow between my knees and I actually have another small cushion under my armpit (result of time with shoulder injury). Changing sides during sleep with the pillows takes some practice... ha ha.
I have bad back and I do sleep more on my right side I can't sleep on my back, or my left side my pain is more on my left side, I have many pillow I do use just like you showed and they do make a difference with my back, I hope everyone who sees your video weather or not their in pain can use your suggestion. thank you
Hey Jared, great 👍🏽information. I sleep on my side, I used the neutral spine technique you explained so well. I used a support just above my waist due to a very soft mattress, I woke up this morning and the pain had decreased by 80% and my mood & mobility was much better. I will be investing in some stuffed circular pillows and the memory foam pillow you recommended 👌Thanks to you and thanks to your wife ( up her wages she's doing a great job ) your channel gets a thumbs up👍🏽 from me
Side sleeping is best when I have pain. But something that has almost fixed all my back pain is working out, especially leg and ab workouts were effective in getting rid of my pain. And this is coming from someone who woke up every single day in pain.
OMG! I bought the pillow you recommended on Amazon and I absolutely love it! I have been struggling to find a great pillow for years! Thank you so much!
Love your videos, thank you. And blessed be your poor wife! Lol. She really is a good sport. Having been a wife and mother myself, I can't help but think of all the myriad of other things I'd be thinking about needing to be doing as I had to "volunteer" to help my husband make videos. So, big thank you to her as well, in helping to make these very informative and helpful videos.
Really interesting video. My pattern for many years is I start off as a side sleeper and then go onto my stomach but have recently suffered from lower back pain first thing in the morning, and it’s slowly eased through the day. Need to try other positions eg: side sleeper to hopefully eliminate this problem. Thing is we all start with the best intensions but don’t realise we change positions in the night whilst we’re fast asleep and this defeats the object. Why does sleeping have to be hard work 🤷♂️
I’ve been having severe lower back pain on the right side for 2 years now and I’m only 25. Managing it has been so difficult owing to the nature of my work which requires me to sit at my laptop for long hours.
Pinklillie Lillie Yep. I have alarms set every 30 minutes. Everytime I hear them go off, I get off my chair and take a walk for 5 minutes. Thanks for the suggestion and concern though. Really appreciate it. :)
Have you made sure your laptop set up is ergonomic? Like the screen not so low your neck strains for example and maybe use a desk that raises up and down to alternate sitting and standing. Supportive chair. And yes taking breaks with an alarm to stretch, walk, go outside, dance, socialize, have herbal tea or a healthy snack, lie down, or whatnot.
Flower SafeHeart Hello. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for your wonderful suggestions. :) Yes. I consulted the ergonomics team at my workplace and they helped me setup my workstation. Didn’t help much though. Because my pain had already set in. And once that happens, there is very little you can do to get rid of it. There are some therapies available out there. But I don’t know how effective or sustainable they are.
Gonna get that customizable pillow. I'm a side sleeper and I use three pillows: one for my head one for my legs and one to prop up my left arm. Works for me..
Thanks, this is the third video I watched to help with posture and back pain (bulging diss pain) I have always slept with the pillow between the knees since my first pregnancy, making some changes to see if it will help with lower back pain. My job requires me to sit most of the time so I will be making changes there too!
Thank u so much for sharing such useful info with people. I have been suffering from disk n mild stenosis for many years n got some pain during sleeping nowadays. I try these positions that u taught me today!! Cheers !
Of all the videos that I have watched, this was simpler and far more informative and confirms what I am already doing. I do have a question though, I am a side sleeper and have suffered for many years with a severe pain in my right leg (amongst many others) which has now forced me to put my right leg slightly forward and a pillow directly behind my leg to support my left leg as the pain is too severe to have my legs together on top of each other. I now have pinch nerves in both my thighs which won't release. I have been to a chiropractor, massage therapist, MRI's done and dusted with no answers. I have watched many many videos for answers to help release these pinch nerves as they are painful and I'm obviously concerned about permanent nerve damage. I am taking tranquilizer's at night so that I can at least sleep as the pain is too severe. Is there a specific exercise that I can do that will help release these pinch nerves?

I am 28 years old paraplegic , suffering from Arachnoiditis and I have started developing scoliosis. My back and spine are bulging towards right, my left hip is higher than right. Which exercises I should do to correct my posture
If your back is really bothering you try sleeping on the floor. It really works for me when my back starts to bother me. Get some blankets and a pillow and the floor will be your best friend..(Not even joking)
That's why dogs and cats prefer to sleep in random places even though you spend all your money to buy them the most expensive bed! It's all explained now!
That’s very informative but I usually keep on changing my positions throughout the night. That means adding or removing the pillows every single time. Then i wont be able to sleep.
I have same problem. I toss and turn throughout the night so it's impossible and pointless to do any of this as the pillows just end up in other places or on the floor when I wake up.

Yiu are a life saver. My back has been kiling me for months now (i have an appointment with a neurosurgeon in September). Couldnt sleep last night because of the pain. I watched this video 2 in the morning . Followed your instructions and finaly managed to sleep.
Oh, I am so happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing!
The best thing about this gentleman is that he sounds extremely nice, a rare thing nowadays.
I like to think that I am! Thank you!
A rare thing? Where do you live lol
Where can i buy that pillow ?
This is how I support my body w pillow between knees is a must! Totally relaxes my back n hips
WOW💥🎯💥
I came across this video right before going to bed last night and had to watch it because those are exactly the areas where I feel pain.
You are welcome, Dotti!
Clear, concise, perfect pace of delivery. Now THAT was informative and brilliantly delivered. thank you!
You're very welcome, Shok Mail! I appreciate your kind words and I hope these tips help!
Well said what I’m thinking! Clear, simple, no unnecessary words! So comfortable to watch you talking!
Thank you for these tips. Just purchased 2 of the Coop Eden pillows.
My sister told me a long time ago to go to sleep in the same position that you woke up in because that is your most comfortable position to sleep in. I have been doing this ever since. I do not move at all when I sleep, I stay in the same position all night long! No tossing & turning for me!
That's great! Thanks for sharing!
Damn sleeping is a lot of work 😂
😄
That's true troublesome
Well we are in 'maintenance mode' for nearly a third of our lives!
Too much work for me. I would be up all night adjusting pillows, picking them up off the floor or I could try not moving and stay awake focusing on no moving.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I totally understand what you said.
Thank you for this right information.
One thing I liked is genuine information you didn't forced anywhere to show yourself right.
Again thanks.
My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful.
You are welcome, John! I hope it helps!
Hi
Thanks for the tips. I sleep mostly on my back and can definitely feel the discomfort in my lower back and hips. It feels like my legs are lower than my torso, so I will definitely look at using a pillow under my legs. Thanks again!
You are welcome, John! I hope these tips help you out!
Thank you, Mister! Well astute. Definitely have been practicing what you shared and my sleep has been far more comfortable and there has been less pain waking up. Thank you again, Sir.
You're most welcome, Jeremiah! I am so glad this has been helpful for you and thanks for commenting!
You must be able to hear my thoughts on trouble-shooting my neck and shoulder pain! This video was medicinal and I am ready to “pillow up” for all areas of support… Thank you, thank you!
Best of luck!
I’m literally suffering from both neck and back pain rn!!!
I soooooo needed to see this video. I'm a side sleeper with two bulging discs between learning how to sleep better and the exercises you show on other videos, I can sleep better at night without so much pain in the mornings. Thank you.
It’s so frustrating that a natural thing like sleeping positions can cause you pain 😓
I am one person that cannot lie flat throughout the night
I am sorry you are experiencing pain when sleeping, Cynthia! I hope these tips can help you out!
Nobody can
It's quite easy if you force yourself to lie flat every night, you will get used to it. My unbalanced shoulder became balanced by adjusting my sleeping position 🌱
@@jindipity4772 so you just stopped moving during the night ??
Exactly i love sleeping on my side and stomach
Wow I’m a side sleeper and have always put a pillow in between my knees but not under my waste. I tried it and fell asleep instantly!! So much pressure released. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for sharing!
when you're only 19 years old but you're searching for back pain exercises and it brought you here, thank god im bout to sleep now. hope this helps 😩

Right now I am having all dos problems something l can't sleep in the night
i have tried all positions and pillows for sleep all worked for me so so well
I just bought a new mattress for the first time in my whole life. Actually, my mattress was older than me. 28 years old. Now, I can combine a new mattress with a good sleeping position! Yay!
Wonderful! A new mattress will make a huge difference!
Home
Fantastic comment, Luke! Thank you so much for sharing! I hope other see this comment, too, and can benefit from it.Thanks again!
Where do u get that type of pillow?
I have had a lot of hip pain when sleeping at night, but I found sleeping with a pillow between my legs has helped with this pain a lot!!
Thanks for sharing!
Same. I don't know why I stop doing this. Now I'm struggling with sciatic pain, at the same time as a recurrence of cervical pinched nerve pain. 😢

I was having back pain when sleeping and found your video and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad i did no more back pain after a week sleeping with the pillows under my legs now I sleep pain free.
THANK YOU 🙏
You are so welcome!
Your video popped up randomly in my suggestions - great stuff! It answered a bunch of questions I barely knew I had, about back and knee problems I struggle with. Thank you! 🙏
Wonderful, Lise! I'm so glad you found this and I really hope it helps you out! Thanks for commenting!
Hey I am from India.. your videos are really helpful..u explain the root of problem very well

So, basically, human beings weren't meant to sleep.
Not on beds with pillows. Sleep on the floor and your problems will disappear.
@@Nautilus1972 my problem with sleeping on hard surfaces is the head cushioning. Towels are not enough. how do you do it?

Sleeping on your back: sleep paralysis
Sleeping on your stomach : compasses organs.
Sleeping on one side: heart burn.
LOOKS LIKE IT'S NOT HEALTHY TO SLEEP?
Funny😂
Lol

Sleep on right aide
Damain Iyke Maybe that is why we naturally move and change positions all night long. There isn’t a “good position”. I tried the pillows everywhere, rolled bath towel around the waist, but in the middle of the night, everything moved around.

I found it very important as I'm suffering from back pain. Thank you so much !!
I've seen pictures of myself as a baby sleeping in all types of weird contortionist positions and it seems to have stuck with me to this day. Old habits die hard so if there are any new parents out there, have your baby start out sleeping the right way!

Great video! Yes, I was a stomach sleeper well into my thirties, couldn't fall asleep any other way. However, trained myself to sleep on my side and yes I love the extra pillow between my knees and I actually have another small cushion under my armpit (result of time with shoulder injury). Changing sides during sleep with the pillows takes some practice... ha ha.

Wonderfully done video. I'm in dire need of this type of information. Huge thank you for sharing!
MikeyD22 - thanks so much. I really appreciate it! I hope that it helps!
Gonna get that customizable pillow.
I'm a side sleeper and I use three pillows: one for my head one for my legs and one to prop up my left arm.
Works for me..
This is exactly what i do…..
Propping up one arm is the best. Keeps that shoulder from rounding over all night.
Ok that's right
Thanks, this is the third video I watched to help with posture and back pain (bulging diss pain) I have always slept with the pillow between the knees since my first pregnancy, making some changes to see if it will help with lower back pain.
Yoga helps mine. Back and leg pain.

You could try a motorized bed to raise your legs.
This was so helpful. I did all of them and it did provide relief. Thank you so so so much!
