- I went down to the Dubai Autodrome to learn how to drive an F1 car! The whole thing only took about an hour and it was one of the most insane experiences in my life. The former F1 driver Eddie Irvine used to drive this car in the grand prix! hope you like the vid. Much love, Alex xo

I had an opportunity to drive an F-1 Car. They made me take a 10 hour safety class to do 10 laps. The amazing thing was how hard it was to steer the car. I already had respect for F1 drivers, but after that experience it went up a few more notches.
Where was that and how much did you pay?
@@cropereira Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was in 2007, so I'm not sure if they still do it. At the time, it was $1,000 and you follow the driver in your own car to do the laps. You could also do Nascars as well.

@@michaellewis1017 It was F1. The indy cars were about $900 for the course and the only way they would let you do the F1 is if you had taken the indy course.
Even after all these years, that Jaguar is still beautiful.

This is not an F1 Car, the chassis could be, but the engine is definitely not an F1 engine.
Probably a F3 engine...hahahaha
Iyeah its true not originally v10 engine but... F1 2013 is last v8 n/a engine soo is the mix of F1 trolololol but i still wish to drive it thoo
Not even the chassis is authentic, just a replica. Engine should be some ramdom V8 with similar specs to F-Renault 3.5.

Looking on the website the car is fitted with a Judd V8 which you tend to find quite a lot in older F1 cars that are still being run. They don't rev as high or produce as much power but they're very cheap to maintain and parts are freely available unlike the contemporary V10s of the time.
That’s not a V10. The whole rear of that car is not any kind of jag 00-04. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah, it'll have a V8 in it. It's very rare they'd let anyone near the original spec cars because they're effectively museum pieces. Even if they do, they'll rev limit them like they did with Michael Schumacher's B194 around Spa. If something breaks, you're not likely to find replacement parts easily.

@homie beaglePG Did abit of digging and turns out that it is infact an actual Jaguar R1 chassis from 2000, just with a Judd V8 purely due to far cheaper maintenance costs with it as opposed to the eye watering maintenance costs that would come with the original Cosworth CR2 V10 (Or ANY V10 from that era).
I did race those Radical and was Lap record holder at Brands and Snetterton, for about 2 years, then bigger motors etc came out. The Radical is an awesome car, very fond memories of these cars. You done so good!! And you have a cool instructor

@242turbo Yep, its a 2000 Chassis from a real Jaguar F1 car. It only has a V8 from Judd and not the original V10-Engine. It only has 550 hp (but weights 550 kg)

You can't start an F1 car from a simple battery, you need to turn the engine over to start it. Not a proper F1 car

Be a F1 driver requires some training (because a little bit different way to drive the car, be mighty to support up to 5Gravity of pressure, have an average body weight, and more). I hope someday you have an experience driving a Le Mans car (maybe from Toyota or Porsche, he he)...

Thing is, an F1 car doesn't have a starter motor, this one has. Not sure what engine setup this one has, but it's for sure not an original one. Didn't hear it in high revs, but it sounded a lot different as well. It does look like an original, although her seating position was quite high, but that might be down to her length.
