I've raced karts and formula 4 (there are some in the US, not much) and I can say it is pretty calculated and meticulous how you drive. Had a friend who got into rally and asked me if I wanted to copilot and he said "this is different, we're pretty much just full send here and hope for the best"... Yep it is all confidence and courage, no racing lines, no management, just pure chaos.

Its 2 very diffrent things, yes both are rallys but its not the same thing. A wrc car would not have made it a half lap around that track. so its on that track much much faster then a wrc car

@@anteperkusic8430 Or Greece. The Acropolis Rally is a renowned car breaker, mostly the drivers there talk about not breaking the car, rather than outright speed. They're better at dealing with the huge washouts and massive rocks now than in the past, but there was a time that the winner was simply the guy whose car was still going at the end. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Petter Solberg once won that rally with only three wheels on the car going across the finish. It's crazy rough. Australian Chris Atkinson (who drove for Subaru) still says it's the roughest rally he ever competed in. If the modern WRC cars can run those stages they could run this course easy.

My friend used to race open wheel and rally and he used to say, “open wheel drivers are smart and calculating, rally drivers are smart and psychotic”. Seems he might’ve been right 😅
WRC rally drivers are mixture of calculating and psychotic. They mostly drive smart and calculating but they also need to go full send with higher risk every now and then to win couple of seconds to win a special stage or the whole rally. The championship goes to whoever estimates that risk the best. Right now, Kalle Rovanperä seems to be doing great work.
@@MikkoRantalainen Yea McRae was all psychotic, could/should have been a multiple time world champ but if he heard "don't cut" you best believe hes cuttin that corner.
After watching Nico Rosberg quite a bit and listening to him, I really think, the standout point, for me is that he's honestly just a good guy! no façade, definitely not a FSP (Fake Smiley People), so many others in the spotlight are just FSP's. Thanks Nico, oh, and he's a great driver!

Amazing Video, but honestly I couldn't stop thinking about Rosberg and Hamilton doing an Extreme E Teamowner challenge/video together. Maybe there is a possibility to forget the past rivalry to raise awareness for the sport and more sustainable racing.

Great video. I love auto racing, F1, Indy, Nascar etc., but rally is at a level all by itself, it’s just insane what those drivers can do with those cars. I would put WoO and Rally as the two series where it takes more natural driving talent to win then the car.

man, I used to race Class B Rally here in tge states as an amature driver (no sponsors, just a race liscense and a car.) we crashed out in our second season and the team disbanded because we didn't want to buy another car. but I miss the feeling of being on the tracks so much I have considered starting a new sport all together, Ultra Light Rally, using basically off road go karts with super powered engines, off road suspension, and seeing how well it's recieved locally where I live. its too bad that the whole sport of rally seems to not notice tge Upper Peninsula of Michigan here in the U.S. because we have trails and roads all across the entire U.P. that would make most rally drivers pucker up amd pray a bit before they bomb down it at a hundo.
