- A Toronto woman who was carjacked along with her husband over the weekend is calling for more action to be taken on the issue, saying it is “not being taken serious enough.”
Mandy, who doesn’t want her full name used because the individuals who stole her car now have her vehicle registration and insurance documents, said she was carjacked Saturday night by a group of young people - an incident that was partly captured on video.
“I’m not happy with the way things are going. I’m not happy with the way this country is being run,” Mandy told Global News in an interview on Monday.
“I think we are getting victimized here.”

@@Jabler- I didn't do it for fun. It was -10 degrees outside and I was 19 had no where to sleep freezing. I programmed new key for it with a OBD-II Scanner and had it parked underground until one day I decided to go to the store with it I got rear ended. Got bagged n all got revealed lol.. not proud of it but just sayin

I think driving in Ontario is more like a privilege for our Governments. Its a non-stop, money making machine for THEM, Think of all the times a car is sold and resold, and how much tax revenue they generate from that alone. To all the people asking about having a GPS tracker on such an expensive vehicle. I suggest you go read the story of the guy visiting that had his truck stolen recently. He had a tracker and it actually showed it driving by the hotel where he was giving info to the police in real time and they did nothing. When he himself tracked it to a shipping yard they told him it was too complicated to figure out what shipping container it was in. No joke look it up, it is getting just insane.

Some people can afford body guards and have their own security. If someone can afford an expensive car why would they not have measures in place to protect them. They just hope it never happens. Instead most people just feel safe and are never prepared to do anything but call someone else after something has happened at which point what's happened has happened.

For a small fee they could have had a GPS security that would remotely disable the car. Insurance companies are actually paying the $400 cost for parts and installation AND giving a discount on insurance. It's crazy that their $700,000 car didn't come equipped with it!

My close friend’s father got killed almost two years ago.Tell this day the police didn’t find the suspects.
On a Saturday morning around 6am my friend’s father was heading to work and he stop for a quick fuel up and a car wash on Highway 7 and Young street.
After machine washing his truck he parked the car outside and started to dry the car. Suddenly he saw 4 guys coming towards him and started to beat him up asking for his truck keys. Of course he didn’t want to give up his $70,000 Toyota Tacoma for nothing!
Long story short the thief’s beat him up tell his last breath and they stole his truck and to this day no sign of any suspect’s!
The first time the thief’s stole his truck from under his parking lot of his building.
My friend is heartbroken and always mention his father. When ever he see me I just hug him and pray for him.

How do stolen vehicles get loaded onto shipping containers without the owner's consent. Organized crime have terminal staff on retainers? Should be easy for the police to follow with a tracker then arrest the staff that approved the stolen vehicle being loaded.

Good point but it's not only the Law we are lacking. Its the extreme lack of financial literacy people have. If less people had money problems then people wouldnt resort to crimes. We need to teach people better financial literacy, especially criminals or its just a repeat cycle.

It does. The problem is, the police will NOT go after it. A colleague had her Lexus stolen, she showed the police where the car was, and they said that it was "too dangerous" to go after it. Ridiculous.
