My dude! In 2009, the R1 won the World Superbike Championship with Ben Spies, in his rookie year. Fresh out of an epic 3 year AMA Superbike showdown with Mat Mladin with Yoshimura Suzuki.
Ok some clarification is needed here. So Yamaha doesn't want to meet the "European" emissions, but, does that not mean it will still be available in the US? The articles I read simply stated it wouldn't be available in Europe, leaving the rest of the world open still perhaps?
i still do not get it how it works, does it mean that R1 will be manufactured in the future for different regions beside EU, or they will sell race version to daily use for USA?
R6's are fine but I don't think they are particularly special given the volume. I think its a bit of a mania until the R9 actually replaces it. (R7 is a bit of a joke)
I've never owned a Yamaha bike, but I have had a few Yamaha jet skis (waverunners)... And they've all been really good machines tbh. I'm not really well aware of how the watersports market is when directly compared to the sport bike market.. I personally never had the inclination to buy a liter bike (that being said I have owned a couple), so I'm not exactly bothered by this news, but meh... You never know, it could possibly make a come back in the future like some other bikes have.
KAWASAKI ZX6R RIDE BY WIRE PLEASEEEEEE I WANT TO AUTOBLIP ON THE ZX6 It would also make it easier to set up launch control and other features just by changing the ecu
I think you don‘t understand that! The R9 will be completely another Bike, new Engine etc. The crossplane engine will no longer exist in this form. That's why you can't compare the "normal" engine in the R9 with the previous technology. It will simply remain standard compared to the R1. Nothing special.
@@ht2311 before the crossplane the R1 was also a good bike. Before the R1 yamaha also made cool bikes. No worries they will come up with something great & pass the emission tests.
Owning a R7 or an R9 is like buying a corvette and saying just put a 4 cylinder in it. I don't need all that power for the street. More beta male shit.
Every motorcycle based, chinese product I have bought has been fully refunded and they didn't even ask for them to be returned. I'll complain if I want to.
Yea, sooo many people making content on this on not letting people know its only in Europe…but as you said for now, im sure US, UK & AU is gonna be next or one by one.
It will be that‘s safe. But a main Problem for the most comments here, i think no one live in Europe. in the last few years the EU changed many things with the Emissions Standards and the Beginning was the VW Scandal in the US. After this, all the Stupid things come together here. But the Main Problem here is, not many people buy a new R1, the most selling bikes are hypernaked/naked Bikes in Germany as example. It's not worthwhile for Yamaha to adapt the bike because the costs are unnecessarily high and you can't achieve Euro5+ with the Crossplane. So they sacrifice this bike and sell more MT's for example.
Yamaha is becoming one of the worst manufacturers in existence today. What honda did this decade? Released the fireblade rrr, 750 hornet as well as the transalp, this year again brought 600rr to life. What kawasaki did? Updated the 6r, release the 4r (unexpected), released the ninja 500 in small displacement class. What did suzuki do? released the 8s and 8r (brand new engine), v strom 800de, updated the sport tourer. What did Yamaha do? Replaced the R6 with R7. Bunch of shameless folks.
Adobo………the R1 is only being removed from the EU. Everywhere else the bike will still be available. Yamaha is not loosing market share, EVERY manufacturer is loosing market share. Kawasaki Motorsport line is only 3% of their world wide market, they really don’t care. Also, you completely overlooked the 4c8 R1 07-08 the most powerful R1 out of the box with the exception of the 2015 to current R1. Suzuki is suffering world wide as a company, they will cut whatever they can to stay afloat. The biggest reason motorcycles are in decline is not the prices, it the people. Younger folks, whom Thea bikes are really aimed at, can’t even drive a manual shift car, plus the newer generations are quite sissy in all things. Crashing sucks and it hurts. The new world is to be safe from all things. Even the car market is suffering.
right - eu...for now. but you also didn't take into account the r6, what happened there could easily happen to the r1. also, it's impossible for every manufacturer to lose market share because that's not how market share works. the pie stays a circle and some manufactures lose a bigger share of said pie. you should study a bit of principles of business - I happen to teach a class in college called principles of business (just an fyi). as for the 4c8, it didn't win anything in wsbk - they came in 6th in 2007 and 7th/3rd in 2008 respectively under Yamaha Motor Italia, that's why in 2009 they changed the bike again. and finally, "Younger folks" aren't the target demographic for the r1, "younger folks" typically don't have the buying power. The fact of the matter is, the r1 is not practical for the "older folks" - they're buying naked bikes. The other side to that is, the younger folks ARE buying the R7. something to think about man - I did the research on this, and have been keeping up with yamaha since Suzuki announced their stepping away from the super sport market.

This could be the most disappointing news for any motorcycle lover & watching you dude engoying it is heartbreaking 💔🥲
I’ve just bought a 2009 r1 big bang can’t wait to take delivery of it very soon

Ben Spies actually did win the world superbike title on the 2009 first generation cross plane R1
That’s right! The only 2 ever
I think its more so the meaning behind the r1 dying off is what hurts more than the fact its going to be gone soon
I like your mic stands man. First a roll of tape. Now a skateboard truck 😂👌🏻
Taking a guess on the next episode is something you can find in a kitchen
He got that from another UA-camr
apparently aus is stil getting road legal models for a few years. there is still a chance to get one for me haha

Yeah! Totally missed that one - but i do remember now

We can’t compare suzuki to yamaha - we still have gixxers here in the US, but where’s the r6? Only time will tell
Thanks for good explanation
You gave us some hope is true we can still get 1000cc from Kawasaki Honda
Good stuff. Also where’s the roll of tape mic?… Idk about the skateboard truck upgrade? 😂
I’m currently learning how to ride on a 2009 R1. It came with a ecu flash and is stuck on A mode wish me luck

Correction, Yamaha wom world superbike in 09 with tie first inception of the Crossplane crank R1 with rider Ben Spies piloting.
I got my 2006 yamaha r6 a couple of weeks ago for 9800 nzd that only done 10xxx kms. I think that's a bargain
Woah whats up with the everyday upload. Nice nice nice
Im already seeing people price gouging the R1s, just like what happened with the R6s.
Adobo can you elaborate why the 2015 R1 and R1M didn’t suit you? I’m guessing it was ergonomics.
Will the R1 be worth more or less once Yamaha stops making them?
Where can i watch worlds superbike?
I’m checking out a 2006 r6 Saturday, wish me luck guys
What a shame, it’s still going to be sold and made as a road bike in Australia and Japan as far as I know 🙃😉😉
meanwhile in Kawasaki...
R&D: now, how can we put a supercharger in a 400cc bike
