What a legend you are, thank you so much for this quick and easy to follow tutorial. We moved in to a new house and have had a gap in the bottom of the door for a month or so now, I’m handy but had no idea how to adjust the door. Watched your tutorial 10 minutes later the door is done and sealed up tight. With winter on its way and temperatures dropping this will save me a fortune over the coming months. Thank you again. Awesome 😃😃😃

Thanks for this. I've been struggling with this door for years, but the final straw was when I wasn't able to lock it from the outside! I contacted a door and window firm, but of course all they wanted to do was sell me a new door. So I followed your instructions and all is well. Mine is a different kind of hinge cover, it just needed to be unscrewed so you have to use a bit of common sense if your door is different.👏👏👏

Useful. I have a door to which I can apply this knowhow.
You mention "Phillips screwdriver". At least two of the screws, so probably all, are clearly Pozidriv. These points are not the same as Phillips. Phillips and Pozi came from the same idea, but Phillips drivers slip quite easily if used in pozi heads. Most screwdrivers with interchangeable points come with both. the Phillips ones are usually marked (eg) "PH1, PH2, PH3,..." and pozi "PZ1, PZ2, PZ3,...". One giveaway is the extra narrow grooves set 45 degrees between the main lobes. These are always pozi.

Great video, really helped me out! My hinge covers were slightly different in that, once I unscrewed and removed both screws, I realised I had to slide the hinge cover towards the door handle, which then released it and allowed me to open it to get access to the adjustment screw. Hope this might help some people having the same struggle as I had to remove the hinge cover.

Thank you! The door I just adjusted has a T-hinge rather than a flag hinge, so had to loosen a screw on the other side of the cover instead of just popping it off with the screwdriver.
Underneath, the workings were very similar, and just had to adjust the depth with the allen key. Now it doesn't catch at the top, and the locking mechanism doesn't jam. Didn't realise it would be this simple.
