You make it look so easy 😂. And I'm sure it is for most people ❤ (unfortunately being disabled, it'll take me more time, if I'm at all able to do all that bending. But you've inspired me to do so, so that's a bonus 😅). Great explanation and demonstration: thank you so much 😄.
I am so pleased. I'm delighted that I've inspired you to try it. I'm sure you'll do fine. Just take your time. Thank you for your comment, and please consider subscribing to help me reach my 100,000 subscriber goal.
Thank you for another very helpful video, we’ve done quite a few bits to our house now following your tutorials. Just one questions, the seals on our back door were old and brittle so we replaced them, we also have one of the frame and one on the door. I replaced the frame seal and it was simple but the door is now quite hard to close and lock, I haven’t replaced the one on the door yet as I’m worried it won’t close at all, is there a way to adjust the door slightly to keep the seal strong but allow it to close slightly easier?
Exellent, practical advice, presented with clear and easy to follow steps. As ever, a lot of understandable advice in a short video. Wish you and yours a very Happy the Christmas, and continued success for 2025. All the very best from Prague, CZ !
Useful and infortmative video as always. 👌 Have a great Christmas and New Year. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us through 2025. 🎉👍
Thanks for your comment and kind words! Looking forward to a fresh start in 2025 with some bigger projects coming. Have a nice Christmas and see you in 2025!
@FixitwithFowler thanks for your response. During bad wind and rain I'm noticing droplets of water coming inside near the centre of the door and it's draining well so I'm a bit lost what it could be. Haven't changed the seals in 20+ years so probably that?
@FixitwithFowler little droplets of rain into my house from near the centre, when It rains it looks like it's coming through the door then dripping down onto the floor. I'm sure it's the seal. Isn't a lot though.
You said leave a gap at the bottom so that if water comes in it'll be lead through onto the door steep. I find this a bit illogical? Why not seal it up fully, even add a dash of silicone or something, so that if water starts running there, it's kept at the outside!? Please forgive me I'm a computer guy and I know nothing about this kind of stuff lol.
There is drainage holes at the bottom of the frame to allow water to escape, you only need to leave a few millimetres. Don't forget there is also the seal on the door so in effect you have 2 seals doing the job.
@@FixitwithFowlerI don't know, these are 5 years old. They don't have any groves to accommodate any new insulation on all the windows . They look cheap and I can't even remove the handles to up grade them, well that's what to expect from new builds these days.
@WeAreTheUnhappyMajority i know exactly what you mean, my last house was a new build and in the 10 years we lived there we had so many problems. Everything was so cheap that we had constant problems.
The beauty of these vids by yourself is that you give people the motivation to have a go by showing it's not as intimidating as some may think 👏👏

You don’t join seal at the bottom of frame
How much is that bucket of seal and where would one buy it , can you advise please, thanks .
Hi, its £19.99 for 25 meters amzn.to/402Rrsb
@@FixitwithFowler thank you,
@KavanOBrien no problem!
If the seals have gone/damaged, could that possibly leave rain in?
Yes definitely, its worth checking there is no movement in the door aswell

@Lewis-te6re does it run into your house or stay within the frame?

@FixitwithFowler it drips through the door into my home. Very little but does.
I couldn’t see the link you mentioned.
Its in the description of the video but here is a direct link to the seals amzn.to/40kiuR7 and a direct link to the seal sample kit amzn.to/3W5fnKm

Can't remove seals they're permanently sealed onto the windows and frames throughout the house.
@WeAreTheUnhappyMajority thats a shame. I had the same thing with my Mums door. I don't know why some manufacturers make them like that?
