I’ve gotten so many requests from you all to make a tamales video using Maseca because prepared masa is not easily available for most of you. So here it is, hope you enjoy.

Thats true.you got to go to the latino markets and probably the bigger ones like vallarta and superior for prepared masa and you got to watch out for the lard if you arent a fan..but thats for lazy people anyways right.some belizeans too lazy and they got to be forced to do things for themselves sometimes.

@@manuelalmendarez2232 She's in Texas. Vallarta and Superior are here in Los Angeles. Surprised there's no options where she's at. But if you can, go to a Mexican market and get fresh masa para tortilla. BTW, need a good tambran juice recipe. Maybe boil up!

@@MichaelCorleone562 you got it bad brother.you hear the name says to boil up which means you just boil up everything.just kidding.you actually just boil you regular tortilla dough and do your accompany salsa or sauce and fish however you like it.its been about 30years since i tried it but my mom did it while growing up as she and my dad grew up amongst the garifunas and i have several cousins that are garifuna and my niece has half sisters and brothers that are garifuna and i have some garifuna ladies that used to like me and so i had to learn litle garifuna cooking.so i have to know a little.and my dad when he was alive always asking for cere and matilda foot and i used to get these litle confused until i learnt how to do them.if you got it bad i have to have my cousin who is part garifuna send it to you brother.

I lived in Belize for 5 months and there was a lady that lived a few doors down from us in Placencia that sold tamales. We ate them a few times a week and have been missing them since we left 2 years ago. I found your video and made them today and they were just like the ones we used to get! Thanks for the great step by step instructions and explanations of the ingredients!

Hey Sherani, I’m from Belize and have always made tamales by using the tortilla masher. Today my daughter and I mixed the maseka like you show in your recipe. Well we were extremely excited on how quick we made so many tamales in a short time. We have enough to share with the family. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe, my daughter is already making plans to make more tamales in the near future. Thanks again!

I used Maseca and I got banana leaves mailed to me via Amazon(from the beautiful Philippines). It was easy to follow your recipe. Thank you. I am in Minnesota and craving the Belizean tamale. Silly me thought you would have shreded the meat from the chicken 🤦🏽‍♀️🤣 but it looks delicious. When it comes to freezing it she would freeze the cooked ones in the foil and when she wanted to eat some she would boil it from frozen in the foil for 10-15 minutes.
