- The Spartan Rangers are some of the fiercest soldiers within the whole of Moscow, however one stands out more than the rest. That being the American known as Lance Corporal Samuel Taylor. During and after the events of Metro Exodus, Sam's story will be told as he eventually heads off on his own to try and find his Father back in California.
But who is Sam? What is his story and what is his fate?
This is the story of Lance Corporal Samuel "Sam" Taylor.

I chose to get Sam home in the end. The man has been through hell for 20 years and I feel like he deserved it. It would be nice to get a spin off game that follows Sam's journey through a post WW3 America.
I doubt if the creators will change the country of events because then there would be many comparisons with fallout
@@Mimi-vw6yi Solid point,as I doubt a Fallout game will ever take place anyplace but America. Like an unwritten rule for both series,I guess.
And every S.T.A.L.K.E.R Game takes place in Chernobyl, it’s all about series identity, which is why I always had a hard time loving Metro Exodus, because it abandoned one of its most identifying features. Not even the Book dared to venture too far from Moscow, and when it did, it ended.
I also want prewar weapons and bullets to make a return along with a conclusion to how the sub will operate considering Tom is somewhat rocky.

My favorite part was when he got drunk with captain, I was laughing so hard haha, Sam is amazing Spartan, loved his accent, amazing dlc.

The endings of Sam's Story are so strong and impacting, leaving some emotional aftertaste
I like how there isn't necessarily a "good" or "bad" ending, it's what you think is the best option
What if Sam enters California but then realized it’s run by a Government called the NCR.
We’d gladly welcome a former US Marine into our ranks.
I think that if Sam makes it to California it will be a similar set up as the Shi. Build a settlement around the submarines ability to produce power but not overextend themselves so far

@@colemanwalsh7477 yeah if you choose the bad ending, the good ending hinted at the book in 2035 that there was a plane and thats it. Sam could maybe use that plane to reach America.
Metro games outside of Russia would be interesting. Western europe, China, japan. Alot of potential.
@@minefromblackmonday I wouldn't really call trusting tom the bad ending as in my opinion he honestly doesn't strike me as the type too use the nukes. Maybe more like traditional pirates smoke and mirrors show of force but no guns actually fired

ulman is my favorite character he was amazing he was a spartan too so it would of made sense for him to of come along the journey on the aurora

This DLC needs a sequel. Not only it was a great piece of content, but Sam's character is also interesting enough for a sequel. It's not common for a side-character to be as good when you have such a defined protagonist on a franchise like Artyom...
For true Sam experience you should play with Russian audio, you can hear how Sam's Russian is so bad, while in English version his English is perfect but other have accent
When I replay it I will have to do so.
@@acekoala457 Yup i went full metro experience Russian audio and almost no interface, there is one problem tho, if you are far away from bandits you can hear them but English subs won't show, so if you don't know Russian you won't know what thy speak, it's little annoying i must admit
@@drteska97 kind of immersive though. If you’re an American playing an American in a Russian game, hearing slivers of faded Russian voices would be hard to understand

@@aaronwhipple512 perhaps but where would they go with him? He’s basically had his good ending now, and there’s still a lot going on with Sam.
I hope and pray Sam'sstory is not over. If he sank the sub I hope he can make it to the Bearing Straits which or which are only about 60 miles wide with islands to reach my small sailboat. I doubt I am alone in supporting a continuation of the world of the Metro Saga.
Sam gets back to California and "greeted" by people in brown uniform, bearing 2 headed bear coat of arms.
This was very interesting to me as a former submariner. Judging by the profile of that submarine, its a Typhoon class. Very cool!
Yeah, it is Typhoon (Akula) class, and considering the current state of these rustbuckets, the chance for them to be still operational is exactly 0%.

Waaaaait this is about sams actual life!? I don’t think anyone made a video about him! Sweet he was one of my favorite characters in Exodus plus he’s voiced by the same actor as Dempsey from Nazi zombies what could be better!

As much as I wanted Sam to get home, I can't help but to think that Sam would blow up the sub. After seeing how much Artyom and Miller sacrifice for the greater good; I like to think Sam would honor their example. There was no choice in the end, the world doesn't need another apocalypse.

So the thing about Americans still existing. I think during the Caspian part of the main game o think there's a post war log where it's mentioned that satellite images show that cities in America still have running power because they are lit up at night
i really wana know what happened. Is destroying the Sub canon or does Sam get a ride home. I doubt they’d take us to America but if Sam did make it, 4A games could have a secret radio signal from Sam telling the Group of the Aurora how America is and if he found is father. That would be nice

I mean honestly 20 years after the bombs went off it’s more then likely the rocket fuel for the nukes in the submarine has gone bad. Besides we know that there are other locations like D6 that still have nukes. Tom having a few nukes really wouldn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of things. He might threaten people but realistically he’d also put himself at risk. Ssssooooo……

I am waiting for the next installment in the metro series, this is by far by favorite and imo the best solo story driven series there is
I made him go home. Remember that Klim only mutineered against Tom because the latter genuinely didn't want to use the nukes, only as a ruse.

Though it broke my heart, I let Sam go home. Besides being in good graces with the arms dealer means he could probably get a trip back to return to the spartans if he finds post America no longer feels like home anymore. After all, home is where the people that care for you are isn't it? I'd like to think if Sam doesn't find his father, he returns to Artyom and rebuild the Ranger order to free the Metro from the control of the shadow government.
We would happily accept Sam into the ncr ranks

In honest, I guess Sam would blow the sub, why so? Well, he cared for the Metro people enough to wanting to get them out of there, also, bring nukes to his home isn't a good idea. Either way, I guess he would eventually come back home, the snowy bridge shows he still around after blowing the sub for quite some time.

I love the joke about wishing for a nuclear winter lol, I always like to think that Fallout and Metro are part of the same world (even though I do know the prewar lore of Metro doesnt match up with the prewar lore of Fallout)
You know what I think, I think America did the same as Metro Central command. The US is jamming communication, I find it hard to believe there’s only 1 settlement in the US remaining. If I had to guess, that’s the settlement with possible pre war American government jamming all communications to the rest of the world.
I really hope they make another metro and put it in Sam's shoes. Let Sam get his closure and then have it where he can go back to artyom and crew

Which bit? The sun coming up at the end do you mean? I used all the cutscenes from the main Exodus ending, Sam’s Story good and bad endings
@@WiseFish no I had the sun rise bit where they all look out over the nice green area. But I don’t remember a captain or a submarine in the main game or even playing as Sam at valizlostok

I really enjoyed playing stalker and metro years ago but i felt like the dlc was lacking, Sams was very good but other not as good and felt like it was cut from the main game, im not sure if they are making more dlc for the game, especially now stalker 2 is coming out and that was a chunk of metros devs
stalker and metro are made by different studios. metro devs left GSC over 10 years ago.
@@Matias-dr3ys Ex stalker devs make up some of the dev for metro, even before shadow of Chernobyl , and even vise versa for stalker, other devs from metro like Andrew Prokhorov and others, just cause the the studio changes doesn't mean the people
@@AdeptusCustodeCiff some of the stalker devs like andrew prokhrov left gsc after call of pripyat and formed 4A games and made metro 2033 actually illegally using a modified version of xray engine to make 4a engine.
also maybe some devs returned to gsc after working on metro games but i wouldnt know about that but 4A games never worked on stalker.
