As a note, I slaughtered the place and she was still willing to chat and was happy to see Shadowheart. She had a few lines about getting out of there after there to figure out her next moved, but no signs of regret or animosity towards Shadowheart
Thanks for the note! That’s good to know. My game probably bugged out last playthrough cuz her dialogue was short and abrupt there - could be an old patch thing, a mod override thing, or just random bug
@@kirbothestabo the fight for me was kinda bugged though. My party kept getting downed (except for 27 AC Astarion lol) so I gave up and just used a greater invisibility scroll on Astarion to go an assassinate everyone, none of which would aggro after damage and would heal max health after each hit (if I didn't kill them). A couple NPCs refused to aggro at all even after I revived the party. However, with that being said some of the dialogue did mention how I'd killed the mother superior, so I don't really know if the bugged fight had an impact or not
omg as slow as me was i didnt realize when shadowheart said she had a childhood friend (a boy) who had purple hair... But i only met a purple hair female friend of her... And... What... Omg how could i be so slow😂
In the old editions are least, alter self is a perma spell to alter ur form, though most people are level 1 and getting to level 3 to do such things can take years. I wonder if that's how she did it.
In earlier editions, there was also a fairly cheap 'cursed' item called the Girdle of Masculinity/Femininity that would swap your gender when you put it on (and couldn't be taken off without a curse removing spell). Originally something of a joke item (always cast Identify first, kids) though I've known players who actively sought them out. Pathfinder 1e (aka D&D 3.75) took it a step further with the Elixir of Sex Shifting which is permanent (or at least until you drink another one). Bit pricey at over 2,000gp, though if you can't afford that, there's still cheap "Alchemical HRT" in the form of either Anderos salve and Mulibrous tincture (you can actually take both of them to soften all secondary sexual features, making you somewhat androgynous). One of the Iconics (pregen characters, to show off a class) is a trans Dwarf woman who used the latter.
According to Ed Greenwood, high level clerics of most faiths can perform miracles that permanently change a person's body. The person seeking the change just has to sufficiently prove their faith to that deity. In Nocturne's case, the Mother Superior of her church supports her transition, and since Nocturne is a cleric of Shar herself, Nocturne would have already undertaken the most extreme tests of faith for her deity and sufficiently proven her faith. So it was most likely the Mother Superior or another high ranking cleric at her instruction that performed the divine miracle in this case.
I mean in a world with true polymorphing and tons of shapeshifting magic I feel this would be very easy and could he pretty normal. Honestly it be pretty expensive probably but I doubt it be seen as not normal like shapeshifting is pretty common so making a shape-shift permeate be easy enough.
Well, Viconia did, anyway. I would imagine that transwomen in drow society (where she grew up) are viewed with the same comparitive lack of concern that transmen are in ours.
Well in dnd gender is very vougue couse you can change evrething with magic. In dnd i lost count how many times somone for a mission changed his gender in a session for a mission. Plus. Shar is the goddes of lost, no wonder she is happy that somone is permantly loosing his original gender. Still loss it is.
also, gods can take any form they want. why would they care what gender you take? demons also change genders to suit their target. In this world gender is almost an afterthought. that's why in the character creation you can have any combination you want.
now I'm curious about Shadowheart's lines in this exchange, is it possible to get this dialogue route if it isn't Shadowheart who initiate the talk? Because i think in my playthrough, regardless of characters Nocturne will try to speak to Shadowheart anyways

‘You have broken your sacred Oath in pursuit of power and ambition. Only hormone supplements remain to fuel you now.’
This is why the game won goty, evil shit

true polymorph also works as of 5e!

I genuinely love how Shar abhors existence but accepts her followers as they are.

WAIT, I can use the Noblestalk to give her her memories back????
some of them not all.
You can buy 3 noblestalks in act 3 if you give it to the dwarf trader lady in the underdark, so are the rumours
THIS IS ABIGAIL FROM PHILOSOPHY TUBE DOING THE VOICE ACTING!!!!!!!!!
SO SO BASED! GOD I LOVE THIS GAME
THAT'S IT! HOLY SHIT! The minute I heard her I Thought wait... Philosophytube!?
WAIT REALLY? THAT'S AWESOME
Shar said trans rights huh ?

she only cares for your devotion, not your proclivities.
@@dumaskhan I'm not sure I would call being trans a 'proclivity'.

Shar said I may be evil, but not transphobic. Gay icon ✊
it actually makes more sense that gods don't care about people's gender or sexual identity. they just need worshippers after all
Kinda impossible to be transphobic in a world of magic haha.

So that obviously evil piece of shit of a goddess is a gay icon... You might want to reconsider your politics there.
She's evil but she has standards!
I love this so much. This is how you write trans people. (Not that I'm a good judge on it). Not: Hello I'm Haley formerly David.
That’s actually pretty wholesome
I KNEW nocturne’s voice sounded familiar. I’d recognize Abigail anywhere
Abigail Thorn?
Yep
Tbh if you kill everyone around its nice to have her cause you can sell all the loot :D

Most of these lines only appear if Shadowheart initiates the dialogue.
Perhaps someone Shadowheart/Jenevelle thought was a boy was indeed a girl all along? Like anime.
it's pretty clear that she's trans given how she talks about how the others reacted from her change
@@jjongjjongiefan7324 also her voice actress being a trans woman
