I don't know why I just watched 30+ mins of you dragging Delphine up to apologise to Paarthurnax.....but I'm very happy I did. This was very entertaining. Also RIP James
Whoever this Paarthurnax fellow is definitely didn't deserve such verbal treatment, they sound like such a nice lad from your description through this journey, good job enforcing justice and balance in an otherwise cruel world.
He’s an old dragon. But used to be the second most evil dragon. Delphine tells you to kill him, but everyone says no, because in the timeline of skyrim, he’s the #1 helpful nice dragon.
I was half expecting you to end up stuck on Paarthurnax's back at Meridia-speech heights at the end NGL, but what you realized after dropping off was even more hilarious
I still can't believe they added such a giant oversight into the game and never patched it. Delphine admits they follow the Dragonborn, but then treats the Dragonborn like her disobedient child and acts like only she's right and won't listen to reason....I would have loved a quest where you trick Delphine into meeting Parthanaax, just to have him eat her as revenge for being such a miserable woman, maybe push Esbern off a cliff....then you can start your own Blades group that only targets the Dragons that won't side with Parthanaax. I know there are mods...but still....
I don't think its an oversight to be patched out. Its intentional. The way of the voice that the greybeards are trying to teach you about is about not succumbing to your power. By resisting the urge to to rule everything, by choosing not to kill parthinaax and run the blades. You are resisting the Dragonborns natural tendency to rule. similar to how parthanaax is resisting the urge to eat humans. Killing Parthanaax is a symbolic point of no return for the greybeards. It shows that you basically don't have discipline and they choose not to speak to you anymore afterwards.
Not necessarily an oversight, although there definitely is plenty of them in Skyrim. Real people aren't perfect and can often be irrational, misguided, ignorant, and make impulsive and illogical decisions, even when claiming otherwise. Only in Delphine's own narrative is she the "good guy" that calls for justice. The game gives you a choice whether or not to kill Parthuunax and there's really no consequence for not as the questline pretty much ends with The Blades right after. It's been about a decade since I played Skyrim but if I remember correctly the Greybeards and maybe even Parthuunax have dialogue when you bring up The Blades/Delphine to them and they basically say she's self-interested. So the game isn't even presenting her as entirely righteous. As far as oversights, a lot of these were caused by how much content they had to scrap in Skyrim due to how ridiculously *large* the game was both literally and in terms of content, especially for the time. I believe the oversight was not including a dialogue or decisions to confront Delphine and side with Parthuunax officially and either 1.) Changing her mind and reconciling The Blades with Parthuunax - 2.) Refusing and cutting ties with The Blades and officiating this decisions with Parthuunax and the Greybeards - 3.) Refusing and engaging in hostilities or a "boss fight" with The Blades in Skyhaven Temple - 4.) Refusing thus beginning a quest where The Blades initiate an attack on High Hrothgar to kill Parthuunax where you have to travel there and choose in realtime to save/help The Blades or Parthuunax. The latter would definitely be the most interesting although they would've definitely had to have provided some kind of explanation to make it so the Greybeards would've been incapacitated or somehow sidelined from a direct attack on Parthuunax as they are immensely powerful and outnumber the 2 remaining Blades, where at best, The Blades could defeat maybe one of together if they were lucky.
@@cypruslavigne7419 You're giving those stuffy old bats too much credit. @@mickelmaldonado5910According to canon, Delphine avoided the Thalmar for a pretty long time. Perhaps she's an elite stealth archer and we never even knew it.
This is one of the biggest reasons I started using mods. The Paarthurnax Dilemma allows you to assert your authority as Dragonborn and convince Delphine and Esbern to trust your judgement that he has worked hard to atone for his transgressions and that you take responsibility for whether or not he becomes a threat in the future.
I mean, what sort of responsibility are you going to take in 100 years when you're already in the ground. Parthunax and his buddies has eternity to wait you out.
Paarthurnax has literally saved humanity twice. Not only did he help the last Dragonborn to defeat Alduin, but he with the help of the Goddess Kyne gave mortal men the ability to wield the Thu’um in the first place. It’s so insane that they’d have the most hated, annoying character in the entire game, charge you with killing dragon Jesus himself.
Yup, he started the rebellion in the first place. And after the end of the game he sets out to teach the remaining dragons how to control their urges. Esbern is less annoying, but he clearly fails at a point of the old mentor role that the previous games had. Just look at Caius Cossades and Jauffre, those are peak mountains of muscles who have actual skills at what they do. And both are parts of the blades as well.
Delphine: Blades served the Dragonborn Also Delphine: *tells the Dragonborn what to do* I don't support the killing of Parthurnaax, I don't kill him myself, and hate Delphine for even suggesting to kill him. However, she does have a point in not trusting him. Parthurnaax does tell us himself that he doesn't even trust himself not to betray us. He states that he betrayed Alduin himself after pledging loyalty to him, so what's to stop him from betraying us after pledging loyalty. Parthurnaax insinuates that it might not actually be the greatest idea to trust the dragons and keep them around.
He says that cuase as a dragon its in his instinct to destroy. He doesnt say it cuase he agrees being that way. He spent a very long and rough time become the way he is. And i think he said one time he preferred to die then to become like that again A qoute by him "What is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" He wants to teach the rest of the dovah the way of the voice like he has the Greybeards (though it is also stated in-game that there will be dragons who will oppose those teachings. We also can’t rule out that he’s lying.) Regardless, I personally don’t think it’s our place to sentence him when he A.) hasn’t done anything wrong for _a millennia_ and B.) we weren’t around to witness to the tyranny of the dragons (and depending on what race you make the DB, we might not even be a race of man whose _lineage_ ever experienced dragon rule.) If it were one of the 3 nords in Sovngarde, the ones that made the dragonrend shout, saying Parthurnaxx should die it would be a completely different story. I can respect that wish. They were _there_ and fought for the wellbeing of humanity. They, more than anyone, would have an idea on whether or not Paarthurnax has grown past his evil draconic nature or not. Or even if his growth is enough to atone for what his kind has done. He himself even says that it’s wise not to trust him considering that dragons are born with an innate lust for power and destruction. But all Delphine has are delusions of glory, stories about “the good old days,” and a book that said Paarthurnax was a member of Alduin’s army (when literally every dragon was FROM BIRTH.) She’s never even MET Paarthurnax, and she thinks the honored Greybeards + their ways, which Paarthurnax helped build, are stupid. She honestly has no grounds to decide the fate of a complex creature such as Paarthurnax.
@@KlutzyNinjaKitty sure feel free to buy that bs. Don't let the enemy organize, ever. Keep the immortal leviathans unorganized and on the run. Kill em all, each dragon left alive is blood on your hands. Soft as butter dovakin maybe, not the alpha ones.

Some might say the Blades have a point about Paarthurnax, but what they don't understand is that he's a very neat & tidy dragon and he was just cleaning the trash off his mountain. 😌
he’s babygirl coded your honor
Look, the Dragonborn can kill Paarthurnax very easily. They cannot un-kill him very easily. I’ll kill Paarthurnax if and when he turns heel again, but not α second before, thank you very much.
Maybe Delphine is just jealous of Paarthurnax’s ability to keep to his oath.
No she most definitely DO NOT have a point she's a moron😂
@@A1phaWolf150 not ‘turns heel’ 🤣 when partysnax RKO’s the DB off the TOTW
Slow to .25 speed at 31:29 and you can see Paarthurnax actually killed Delphine there. Slapped her with his tail in a bug-induced mach 8 flyby.
It’s perfect
Thank you for your sacrifice Simon, we know these videos are dreadful to make but we appreciate it! you deserve a relaxing spa night after having to put up with Delphine for ages haha
I love how he said “let’s have a picnic” and party snacks said “sounds great I’ll have a bite of delphine please”
Finally. This apology is long overdue. Nobody disrespects Party Snax.
I serve the will of the Blades not that of a fork tongue dragon so easily corrupted. He is a danger and a loose end, one that Delphine and I tied up.
@@Sethalik Wrong. The Blades serve the will of the Dragoborn. Delphine and Esbern are frauds who are salty a bunch of elves kicked their collective ass.

Right, nothing......^^
A Paralyzed Delphine being carried like a Macy's Day Parade balloon made me laugh so much!
17:51 I've never seen a funnier moment that a Dragonborn crawling after Delphine to sit her down.
Its adorable thinking about how a grown man with a VR set on sits in the ground, talking to himself while alone in the room.
The noise he made and the visual of him scuttling after Delphine really made it better.
Just the little "Eegh..." as he scuttled over and grabbed her leg was priceless
I never knew I needed to see a scottish gamer drag delphine all the way to Paarthurnax by hand in skyrim vr but this was the most entertaining video I've seen in a while, and you just earned yourself a new follower
Delphine deserves to be a snack for a dragon, really.
That’d be terrible for the dragon, they’d be backed up for weeks
@@superbpancakes4092 You need a mod to make her killable. She's tied to the main quest, so she's essential.
@@superbpancakes4092 You can also download a mod called Paarthurnax dilemma, or something like that, and tell her to stfu about the best dragon bro.
only thing that would consider her a snack
OMG I LITERALLY CAN"T STOP LAUGHING the accent is just the cherry on top. Instant subscribe.
2:25 she was genuinely tryna resist you 😂 she NEEDED to kill that dragon so badly she shot you with an arrow to fk you off. Delphines determination to kill dragons is true to heart lmao
and it would be so easy, just tell her there is a very powerful dreagon where you lead her.
I see you've done a few of these "drag npc" videos. I honestly love the comedic idea of these. Dragonborn sees some people have a problem "You know what you should work it out with them yourself." Or just taking them to meet this person.
He did what we've all wanted to do. Thank you, Simon!
That was worth every second of the watch time. It's vindicating to see my bestie settle his squabble with the Blades in the most respectful manner.
17:51 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know why but that little scurry animation absolutely wrecked me lol. I’m pretty sure I pissed a little 🤣
Niiice
This is so aggressively scottish i love it
the blades serve the dragonborn by telling the dragonborn what to do with no regard for what the dragonborn wants to do
I don't know why I just watched 30+ mins of you dragging Delphine up to apologise to Paarthurnax.....but I'm very happy I did. This was very entertaining. Also RIP James
Whoever this Paarthurnax fellow is definitely didn't deserve such verbal treatment, they sound like such a nice lad from your description through this journey, good job enforcing justice and balance in an otherwise cruel world.
you should play skyrim itself to know lmao
He’s an old dragon. But used to be the second most evil dragon. Delphine tells you to kill him, but everyone says no, because in the timeline of skyrim, he’s the #1 helpful nice dragon.
I was half expecting you to end up stuck on Paarthurnax's back at Meridia-speech heights at the end NGL, but what you realized after dropping off was even more hilarious
0:11 I laughed way to hard thinking after “you aren’t the Dragonborn” that instead of a shove the sound was just a sharp neck crack
Still should have been an another option, even one as simple as side with The Greybeards or side with The Blades@@kennethM
Those two would be lucky to even get up the mountain without getting their butts turned into new seasonal hats by the frost troll. Better yet, they be lucky not to get brained by a Greybeard atop High Hrothgar that just burped in their general direction.
Too bad it ain't got voice lines
I mean, what sort of responsibility are you going to take in 100 years when you're already in the ground. Parthunax and his buddies has eternity to wait you out.
Rumors have it that If you didnt hold her hand all the way she would of gotten lost and ended up in Elsweyr
We don't want her either! LOL
Khajit does not welcome her.
Why don't we give her to the Wood Elves? She could be a good snack for them if they use the correct spices.
You should drag Astrid to those Imperial Agent guys who replaced the Blades. So she can get a trial for her crimes.
She's the only one with morals. She didn't answer to Aventus. You know, A KID!
I forgot Skyrim became available in VR and was momentarily horrified
“I’ll meet you down there” said every Dragonborn ever
The prolonged hand holding was starting to get a tiny little bit romantic ❤
💔
What a way to be introduced to this channel for the first time

This video is amazing! “ I hate that you’re making me treat you like a human” has got to be one of the best lines I’ve heard in awhile!
Shout out to James just thinking of others in the hot days of skyrim
I can't believe this is a half hour long! I was so entertained the whole way, it felt like 5 minutes!
Delphine: Blades served the Dragonborn
Also Delphine: *tells the Dragonborn what to do*
I don't support the killing of Parthurnaax, I don't kill him myself, and hate Delphine for even suggesting to kill him.
But its not like you have another choice.
He says that cuase as a dragon its in his instinct to destroy. He doesnt say it cuase he agrees being that way.
He spent a very long and rough time become the way he is. And i think he said one time he preferred to die then to become like that again
A qoute by him
"What is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"
I cant imagine killing a dragon that noble until the day he goes back on his word
@@snowleopard9907 It's really easy. I do it about 40% of the time b/c the prick admits he wants to try and become the new leader of the dragons. F that, and he is not your pal. You are his tool to remove his primary rival.
@@tric5122 - except that it’s stated he only wants to be a spiritual/philosophical leader. He wants to teach the rest of the dovah the way of the voice like he has the Greybeards (though it is also stated in-game that there will be dragons who will oppose those teachings. We also can’t rule out that he’s lying.)
Regardless, I personally don’t think it’s our place to sentence him when he A.) hasn’t done anything wrong for _a millennia_ and B.) we weren’t around to witness to the tyranny of the dragons (and depending on what race you make the DB, we might not even be a race of man whose _lineage_ ever experienced dragon rule.)
If it were one of the 3 nords in Sovngarde, the ones that made the dragonrend shout, saying Parthurnaxx should die it would be a completely different story.
I never ever tried to kill Paarthurnax, not once. Because of several reasons, one being a dragon you can actually hold a civilized conversation with! Seriously, you really think I’m going to kill the one dragon I was able to actually talk to and chill out with? Are you crazy!? No one listen to that crazy person, she is the leader of a dead order who just wants to perpetuate hate and blood shedding. Even when I told Paarthurnax Delphine’s intentions, he was very chill about it. So no, the dragon isn’t dying. Not then, not ever. 😋
I did one time just to see what the rest of the storyline was like. I remember it was pretty lame, definitely not worth bowing to whiney Delphine's wishes haha
I mean, the Dragons are basically the Dragonborn’s older brothers. She’s basically asking you to stab the one cool uncle you can actually hang around with at the family reunion.
"Delphine, I can't believe you did that."
Glorious
"We have been searching for you for a long time because we are sworn to serve the Dragonborn. Now do everything we tell you to do or else we'll kick you out and not be your friends anymore!"
These are some of the most fun to watch.
Literally the only thing I don't like about these ones is how torturous it is for you to record them.
It's worth it for the laughs 💙
The Dragonborn being a constantly irate and extremely petty Irishman somehow feels like the unofficial canon.
Irish? Simon is Scottish.

I would agree, except this must have taken him hours to do, just because we get 32 minutes to watch... both of them might take days, if not a week! :o
Oh god I can only imagine how painful it would be to try and drag 2 NPCs at once, dragging just one looks difficult enough as is
I watched how to train your dragon again some days ago and the combination of an angry scot screaming funny things at dragons whilst avoiding to kill them and dragging someone else thru everything else happenning somehow reminds me a lot of that movie which is great lol
This was very entertaining, thank you for enduring it and giving us this fine piece of cinema!

Say hi to James if you see him again. XD
a very fitting end for Delphine 😌
Makes it look like she expired from exhaustion, and Paarthurnax knew how dangerous and unsightly dead bodies can be (how advanced of him!), so he proceeded to clean up after DB Simon. 5/5 stars. 😂
If someone tells you they choose the blades over Paarthurnax, then you know that person can't be trusted.
That finale was well worth the wait lmao
