Nobody is copying Nintendo lmao, these games are very basic. Edit: Should clarify, Nintendo games aren’t as innovative and revolutionary as they used to be. This game is going to look and play almost exactly as the first did, it’s a barebones sequel that should’ve been left as a DLC. Nintendo fans get excited over the bare minimum and it’s hilarious.
Nintendo saw that people were flying around by using multiple objects together, so they decided to embrace the idea and add the Ultrahand ability. Absolutely incredible. The sheer amount of crazy inventions we'll see from that ability is going to be nuts.
Actually they had this ideas before cause a lot of what you see in TotK has been taken from the unused concepts from the development of BoTW, they knew what players would do with Links abilities and the physics of the game and decided to make it part of the mechanics for this sequel which is amazing.
@@kurokoro after all, the devs also play games and do funky stuff like everyone else! It's just a matter of if it's doable in x period of time, and launching these features in BotW wouldnt be achievable
@@kurokoro There are interviews where Aonuma and co. recall watching people do crazy ridiculous things with Magnesis and such (like the flying double-minecar they had to literally patch out) and just having their minds blown. Sure some of these concepts were pre-BotW, but don't try and tell me that the players' own ingenuity wasn't the spark that became the flames.
@@SomeUA-camTraveler Of course the players exploited this mechanics in awesome ways and the developers where surprised how they used them but the basic concepts for a lot of this was already there, I mean imagine when the sequel comes out and players do the same again, obviously they will impress the developers even more. Just like you said they gave us the fire and we used it in many ways unthinkable.
One thing that struck me with the first game was just how unbelievably creative the fans were. Between electric flying minecarts and sneaking on enemy's heads to jump, people were able to come up with a super incredible range of ideas that I never would've thought of. I'm so glad this game seems to be catering to and encouraging that out of the box thinking.
@@magolord2820 no doubt, and i'm sure once Tears is out for a few weeks, its developers will be stunned with creations they never thought of during the entire development process
The engine's capability of doing all these weird things is part of what made Breath of the Wild so incredible, so it is definitely nice to see they not only noticed this, but catered to those fans.
I would mention elixirs, but let's be honest, I haven't made a single one, the only elixirs I used were fire elixirs to reach the peak of death mountain
11:48 the water droplets getting splashed so high up in the air since the fall was so high is just such a cool detail to show the amazing physics of this game…I mean realistically Link would be dead but I don’t mind
With the Ascend ability, imagine a completely sealed secret cavern: You’re in a cave, you want to go to the mountaintop, so you use Ascend. But instead of popping up at the top, you pop up in a secret sealed cavern that you didn’t know was above you the whole time. Imagine a dungeon or quest with puzzles that gives you clues to where these secret caverns are located.
I am imagining an entire dungeon with this mechanic in mind, maybe the map or clues help you figure out when a path is above you. I'm really hoping they have that in the game!
I'm pretty sure that was actually detailed in the patent that was released for it a fair while back. There was a drawing of a little sealed cavern otherwise unaccessible
I love how the fuse ability opens your ENTIRE inventory up to creative possibilities. What was previously reserved for cooking now also creates a homing missile?! That's so fun!
I remember reading they prepped this demonstration as a direct response to people's lukewarm reception to the trailers (since it wasn't very clear just how much different the gameplay would be compared to BotW). Looking back it actually worked quite well.
Definitely sounds like a mechanic made because people didn't like how fragile the weapons were. I didn't mind the weapon breakage concept but it felt like some of the better weapons were made of glass sometimes
I am concerned though about the chance of this being more of a requisite than a neat side mechanic. Like if you mostly find junk weapons, and they expect you to merge for decent ones. The enemies all having sticks gives me that impression, but this is probably a very early area.
My dad was the one who introduced me to Zelda. I remember on botw’s release day, he picked me up early from school and gave me his switch to play it in the car. We were both super excited for the game but he let me play first. He passed away a little over a year ago. I wish he could’ve been here to play totk with me. I cant wait to enjoy this game for the both of us
Sad to hear that. I’m much older than you but my own late father loved BOTW. I still find it hard to revisit the game, in fact I’ve only tried to play it once again since he died. But I take strength from the memories of the shared experience. Like in Hyrule, the journey never really ends.
They saw all the "flying vehicles" people were managing to make by glitching guardians or the physics mechanics and just said "hey wait a minute, that's a good idea!" They 100% leaned in to how people were actually playing the game and it looks like they have given us mechanics that will play into that. Well done!
@@jimnfl7134 no way you still have to eat? I never could’ve ever guessed… Also fuse is new, upwarp (can’t remember the name), dodongos and cheese all that new stuff
The last game had runes that had very wide applications in the world of the game. Like stasis was for puzzles but it could also be used for combat, etc. I'm excited to see what ridiculous uses we find for all these new tools too.
That is actually the strange thing, there has to be more abilities because apart from recall, non of this really sounds directly useful in combat. Though I do assume ultrahand will work just like magnesis but on any item so we can chop down a tree and dump it on enemies instead of only using metal grates or bolls. I assume there will be some sort of bomb ability other than the weapon show.
The fact that fuse actually changes the abilities of the weapon too, like the homing eyeballs. I can't wait to try all the different combinations to see what they do!
I love that the fusion hand ability basically tells us that they saw players making flying machines with boxes and minekarts and went "Write that down! WRITE THAT DOWN!!"
good developers look at how people have fun with their game, and embrace it. while Nintendo is usually deaf to this philosophy, there are exceptions, the legend of Zelda development team seems to get the idea perfectly.
Yeah I think people got very creative with the little ressources they had (in terms of being able to assemble different pieces together) and Nintendo just went with that lol.
That fuse ability is even crazier than I originally imagined. We are going to be seeing videos years after the game comes out of people finding the best fuse combination or combining things that are across the map.
It's clear that the vehicle building mechanic was inspired by people using balloons in the first game to make things fly, and I love that they ran with it. I can't wait to see all the crazy things people build! Also, the weapon fusing is wacky and very cool!
The fuse ability is almost like an answer to all those who hated on the weapon durability system so much because when he fused the boulder to the highly damaged stick, it was no longer highly damaged... gotta love the link shrinkray mechanic to fit that boulder on his back! The moment I saw the weapon fuse ability I immediately thought of the smuggle and blss glitches
I can't imagine how difficult something like the fuse ability would be to program, considering how many options the game gives the player. It's impressive even from a purely technical standpoint, they've clearly done a lot of work on their engine. I was impressed by the very stable-looking performance as well, looked like a pretty fluid 30 fps
Right? There are many opportunities the player can do for crafting materials by fusing any type of objects around them. I find that fusion mechanic is really well improved for the franchise. Not really a fan of Zelda but I'm only getting this game because of the open world formula and the weapon selection. That's why honestly.
Also the seamless exploration between the surface and the sky, this game is looking to be a technical masterpiece. Just like BotW showed what the switch was capable at launch, TotK will squeeze every drop of the hardware at the end of it's lifespan, I'm excited!
I really need to know the limit Like how many logs can I stick together Could I build a bridge with them? Hope it's not a limit like only 10 things stuck together at a time and let's people go crazy Wanna see people build things like a log cabin or tower
Ehhhhh, not really. I mean, the design-bit would be complicated, but if they chose object-oriented and implemented proper polymorphism it'd wouldn't be *too* bad. Nonetheless it is still an ambitious and ingenious way to expand the BOTW sandbox.
@@7PlayingWithFire7 That's kind of the idea. To make as much of the game obsolete as you can in order to beat it as fast as possible. It isn't a "sad truth" it's just the nature of speedrunning. Also, this isn't even inherently true. 100% runs often have to make use of every item/ability. Look at Ocarina of Time, nearly every item is important.
I love how they saw players using thinks like octobaloons, boats, mine carts, stasis, and the general physics engine (as well as other materials and abilities) to make weird machines and mechanisms and just went “yeah, let’s put that in the game” It looks incredible and I’m so excited to make the weirdest mechanisms imaginable!
Have you seen a clip of someone stasis launching a yellow chuchu jelly then bullet time shooting it to kill 15 birds mid flight? BOTW was insane and im excited to see what other things there are to mess around with
@@legomaster2538 did you even play botw? The lore reason is an ancient civilization that made all the literal robots was taken over by Ganon. They literally dug robots out of a mountain and activated them. Link was chosen to use that technology alongside magic to stop the evil. At this point he's just had more time to learn that technology.
I can understand why this took so long. Mathematically, there's an insane number of potential combinations you have to account for to make a system like this work without the whole thing descending into flames.
@@rygqy2140 I bet if you throw an item at a wall, you can clip its momentum with fusion. That means you could probably shunt a Fan into the ground and push yourself out of bounds and then jus speed-exploit with Stasis/Rewind.
@@VeryRealPixel I think it would be better to play Breath of the Wild first so you're already familiar with the story, characters, world etc. You might miss quite a bit of background information, but idk how they've handled it.
what i really like about this is that not only will you get the ability to fuse elements together to form new weapons but also that enemies can come with varied weapons as well to create a lot more varied combat scenarios.
Wow. They somehow managed to address the two biggest concerns people had with the first game (climbing being boring and durability being eh) without removing them or trivializing the mechanic. Sincerely impressive.
You need a boring mechanic in a game.. It will help you later on in it.. Like in Red Dead Redemption 2 I absolutely hate delivering mail but what it does teach me is timing and how to be efficient.. The boring things teaches you things just in case if you do something real serious in a game you have already mastered the techniques well..
I'm astounded at how they've managed to take the foundation of botw and elevate the potential of creativity and curiosity. The amount of love and effort in this title is so clear I'm so excited to see how I can use these abilities!!!
the fact that you dont need any tool to combine weapons and objects together and you can do it real time without any extra menu to popup is fantastic In terms of ux and gameplay designing !
i'm just imagining how many more years players will take to continue finding new fun things to do in the game until we reach the next one, freaking impressive!
@@bsameIs there anything you are passionate about? Tell me and then I will tell you that it doesn't matter and that you nerd shouldn't take it seriously.

Mr. Aonuma is one of few people at current Nintendo that has been - and always will be - truly honest and connected to the fans of his series. A great person just like Satoru Iwata was. It's a bit sad that some times will never come back.
I'm not sure I'll continue being interested in Nintendo games after Aonuma, Miyamoto, Koizumi and Sakurai retire. Their franchises led by younger producers are well-made, but I just don't connect to their games the same way. Nintendo's veteran producers are the heart and soul of the company for me.
Not very honest of them to just be sitting around for 5 years, only showing the most barebones teaser trailers. They were hiding the main idea of the game so that competitors would not get to it.
I don't know about honest, maybe. But as for "fans of his series" this feels more like a game builder than a Zelda game. Maybe they'll show later what long time fans of the franchise have been asking of the first one...
I love the way they don't change the gameplay too much in compare with botw. 6 years ago they created the best handheld open world RPG game and no one have ever close to match it even until 6 years later. Don't change if it's not broken, but enhance it.
That’s the exact reason why Nintendo is so succesful. They know when it’s time to create something new and when it’s better to keep things as they are. That’s why we still get new traditional style Mario games. Why fix something that isn’t broken?
@@functionatthejunction yea, but the fact that gmod was an entire game that was centered around building- makes me, and seemingly many other people excited that we can have the best of both worlds combined, and not sacifice graphics, lore, or just general gameplay. I personally always wanted a combo of Minecraft and zelda botw for Minecraft's creativness and Botws open-world-ness, + all their famous mechanics. For me I always thought Botw was really leading you to one road and one road only, the main story; upgrading gear, completing the occasional side quest, but mostly just driving you to and from the divine beasts before you beat ganon. I stopped playing after I beat the game, as I couldn't really find the motivation to complete all side quests, start speedrunning, buy dlcs(much less actually complete them), start modding, ect. i was only in it for the fight. I might be a lost player but what I took away from the gmod feature was a creative outlet to fill the gap of things I can trust to keep me busy after or during the game. TL;DR: Botw was temporary to me because I had not much to do after all the action, yet I keep playing a "childish" game like minecraft because the good, dopamine seeking discoveries you can find in that game are endless. Interpret that how you will.
Gold star move. Nintendo saw people janking BOTW with flying machines and levitating boxes and instead of cracking down on their glitchy nonsense, they applied their physics engine to make that kind of creativity a main gameplay mechanic. Absolutely stellar stuff.
I love it when companies roll with stuff like that. Rather than seeing it as an insult they build off of it. Feels like they enjoy playing it and the community. Like Valorant making jokes when a player portrait glitched and got stretched, they didn’t patch it they memed with it. Just makes it feel like the devs actually are part of the community and not some ambiguous people typing code.
Wow, so genius bro. Nintendo literally found a way to make fanboys fanboy even more - that "don't complain about there not being much to do, because if you do, the fanboys will come at you with the "you have a bad imagination bro" excuse in return, and we commend them for it!" was a classy way to end the video. Just like Cyberpunk 2077, only a few of us saw the cracks before the game's release. Seems it's the exact same now, but let me guess, I'm not allowed to be skeptical, I just need to... use my imagination?
The fuse function is a GENIUS improvement from the previous game. Many times, a lot of items collected from enemies and general exploration accumulated in my inventory. This is a solution and another way to make you get creative and ration out your items while exploring the new Hyrule. They’ve built upon the shoulder of BoTW and done it in ways I genuinely didn’t even think of. This is amazing
Yup. Monster parts were just accumulating in my inventory in BotW as I never made elixirs, this is an amazing way of give them another useful purpose, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. If BotW, even today, is a gallery of crazy things the fans do, I can't even imagine the limits of TotK.
I did a run without any stamina or heart increases just so that the meals and items stayed relevant to gameplay. This makes me think they solved the issue.
Speedruns of this game are gonna be absolutely bonkers, especially with that ascend ability. If runners in BOTW were able to use stasis and shield riding to bounce across the entire map in seconds its gonna be insane to see how runners use ascend and fuse
I like how there's no loading time falling from, and getting to the Sky Islands. This gives us lots of options to travel! I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time!
True, but loading times have never been a major issue in the Zelda series. Almost every game in the series just flashes you straight to the next area, zero loading screens. I am wondering what the limit of a “ceiling” is for the ascend ability though… “As long as there’s a ceiling, you can ascend to its top.” He showed us using the recall ability that you can use the environment to reach them, but does it go beyond that? Can Link just stand under any sky island and float all the way up to it if the bottom of the island counts as a “ceiling”, or does it have to be an enclosed room with an actual ceiling to it?
@11:15 when he got blown off the island I totally forgot he was in the sky. Absolutely amazing how theres tons of little worlds above the actual surface of hyrule. This game is going to take forever to explore. Cant wait 👌💯
Bro no way this is about to a year old. I remember waiting in the school cafeteria because freshman started classes later. I was waiting for this to drop and hoping the bell didn’t ring, indicating i had to go to class. It rung the second they started revealing the special edition oled switch. I love the game.
At first I was skeptical but these new abilities highlight the part of BOTW that we enjoyed so much: the versatility and problem-solving. There are so many unique ways to defeat your enemy, and I think that this game has tons of potential
It’s literally in the same map it’s not a new game. The game will be good for one play through and then be boring just like botw. This could have been a dlc. Where’s the dungeon items that give you reasons to go back to places? Like a high ledge you can’t access but then you get the hook shot and you can come back and explore a new part of that area…
@@2010RSHACKS the game will be full of things like high ledges you have to go back to, aonuma literally said at the start people should seek those things out themselves when the game launches. Plus why would they show stuff like that in a GAMEPLAY demonstration. Stop hating bro the game is gonna be phenomenal.
It seems like a lot of these japanese developers have a certain level of respect for their games that is lost on most American companies in favor of always putting profit first. You get some amazing games of course like RDR2 or GOW. But you get even more Anthems or Marvel's Avengers and it sucks. Games have become less of an art form and more of a way to drive profit than anything else for seemingly 70% of the industry. The sad part is it works. People can claim they don't support these micro transactions but they wouldn't keep making these games if they weren't making money hand over fist.
Read about how the devs were anticipating botw 1 for goty. They were distraught thinking they weren't going to get it. I really respect these teams. Everyone sings eijis praises, and that's well deserved, but people need to put some respect on the director of these games since skyward sword: hidemaro fujiibiyashi
The amount of customization and creativity potential is insane. So much replay value built in nearly immediately. Speedruns of this game will be mind blowing as well after runners get time with the engine
Coming back to this after the final trailer yesterday. I really like fuse and ultrahand as a mechanic. I feel like it's their answer to more tedious and grindy crafting systems in other games. Essentially crafting and making weapons and structures is more on the fly and hands on rather than grinding for materials and sitting in a menu for 30 minutes making what you need. Overall it's really creative and I'm so hyped to try everything I can I'm this game.
i was a little underwhelmed at first but finished this smiling…..i know i’m going to love this game.. they’re so creative and the fact that they’re still so guarded abt this game makes me very hopeful
I love the Fuse ability. Lots of monster parts were basically irrelevant midgame for a non completionist botw run. They basically became just something to sell for the most part but the problem is you don't really need lots of money in botw during normal gameplay
NOOOOOOOOOO! I need it now. There are infinite possibilities. I will never stop playing this. I'm full of excitement like a 3-year-old getting candy for the first time. I cannot wait for TotK to be released. THANK YOU NINTENDO!
Just like every other release. Zelda always makes me feel this way. Oot when I was 8. Twilight princess when I was a teen. And my favorite attp where it began for me. Every launch has me excited and I find myself reading posts in anticipation exactly the same way a did 20 years ago. Man Nintendo knows how to do it right. Games my be behind others but the quality is un matched. There is no doubt a main Nintendo release will be a banger. That's why we stay so true to our roots. Thank you nintendo
This fusion mechanic has me laughing my head off, especially comically long fork, but this is actually brilliant and a huge step up from BOTW!! I’m so excited to play this game, and to watch how other people play to get even more amazing trick shots and speed run strategies.
@@ToadetteGamer2watch all the people create the most insane things and then go back to Skyward Sword and see if that’s still better than the freedom this game gives you.
It feels like they’re expanding on what Zelda FELT like to me as a kid: endless possibilities, experimentation, and imagination. We still know next to nothing about the structure of the game but the Fuse ability has my mind racing like I’m in elementary school again, dreaming about the things I can try in Wind Waker when I get home and finish my homework.
Right?? As a kid when I saw OOT on the N64 I thought that was cool how you could ride around the map on Epona but I was a little disappointed when I grew up and played it finally. BOTW was exactly like that expectation I had and it was a dream come true. Now I'm just so thrilled to see TOTK and how far the Zelda gameplay has come. Can't wait to play!
That fuse ability makes it so monster parts and plants remain useful even after you get armor that renders the effects useless. The ability to turn weak weapons into useful ones is also a bonus. And being able to make things like boats adds even more creative freedom. They really took notes on the criticisms of Breath of the Wild. Definitely gonna pick this up.
I really like that they came up with better solutions for issues than the simple ones a lot of players suggested. For example, a lot of people didn't like the durability mechanic and just wanted it straight up removed. Instead, they took the goal of that mechanic (encouraging players to experiment with different weapons) and made it FAR more rewarding. The first thing I'm doing is trying the nonsense fusions lol. Like attaching meat to a mop lol.
@@Mynipplesmychoice That's the point here. All the time, Nintendo has been doing games for kids, that are mostly played by adults. The rest of the industry DOES EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE THING.
that part was good the rest worries me. this looks so base, bare bones, like barely any difference from botw. and it looks like the shrines are back.. just in the sky now. Ugh
@@sspectre8217 Actually if you look into the part where he makes a boat, if basically forces every "Fusion" into a very limited set of selections. Remember that this is a trailer, and so this is probably literally trying to show the best possible example. Seems like something that is going to get really old, really fast. But you know what? I hope Nintendo and Zelda team prove me wrong.
I didn't think they would be able to make more abilities that would fix so many of the previous games problems; weapon durability, climbing high areas with ascend, even MORE creativity with fighting enemies instead of just weapons, this game really looks incredible.
You have to remember that BOTW was meant to serve as a new foundation for Zelda going forward so they weren't going to get everything right from the get go. This looks to be a more refined experience.
That fuse ability is nuts! Love seeing these new Zonai enemies too! Also really digging the added uses of the monster parts since in BOTW there wasn't too much to do with them other than physical properties they had or making potions and food dishes
Everyone said it was a shame they didn't have time to lean into the full physics power during development of the first game. It's awesome to see they took it to the limits this time.
@@alexgarcia3610 Exactly. I was there, Gandalf. I was there when this dampened everybody's spirits. But ToTK doesn't rely exclusively on it, so I think it'll land a bit better.
11:47 can we just acknowledge how cool it was that they even accounted for how big the splash should be, and that they even made the splash drops rain back down
@@SuperJeyms Actually Link would have a higher terminal velocity than a tank. . Terminal velocity is the maximum velocity an object can reach while falling through a fluid/gas, such as air. The larger surface area and different shape of a tank would cause it to reach a lower terminal velocity than a human, especially if the human dives like Link here Both a tank and a human will fall at the same rate in a vacuum. This is due to the fact that the acceleration due to gravity is constant for all objects regardless of their mass, shape or size. This acceleration is approximately 9.81 meters per second squared (m/s²) near the Earth's surface. due the surface tension of the water, link would pretty much get the same effect as landing on solid ground Funfact: Even a beam of light would fall at the same speed as everything else in a vacuum, you can see it bending around planets during a eclipse
In my opinion, BOTW had too much freedom. Going somewhere new never felt rewarding because everything was open from the start. If you had to work to get an item to go to a new place, the arrival would be much more satisfying. Not to mention that the things you find around the world are often temporary and lackluster.
For me the best part of BotW was just wandering around Hyrule. The movement systems combined with all the ways the game rewarded you for thinking "I wonder what's over there" made it one of (if not the) best games I've ever played for exploration, and it looks like TotK kept all of that and then enhanced it.
I agree. I am a life long zelda fan so there is that as i would be biased but I have also liked open world games since I was you and have played crap loads. This was one of the most thought out open worlds I have ever played. All the environmental story telling and points of interest that just peaked my interest to explore, I was exploring the world for over a month in no rush to complete the game. Only issue is in retrospective, all there really was to find was a korok or a trash weapon etc. TotK my interest in exploring is going to be more about returning to the places I know and seeing what has changed.
To me that was the worst part. I don't enjoy walking around grassy fields for hours. I enjoy exploration of the world up to a point, but it just got tedious after a while.
The amount of creativity Breath of the Wild gave the player was already insane. This takes it to a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoah easy there bud! You mentioned a specific aspect of Zelda that makes it Zelda. Don't you know this is the internet? Wars have been started over that!
Watching this as a Mechanics Programmer is insane. I'm so envious of the tools that must have been created as a result of the fusion / combination systems. This game looks amazing!

Yes, I was also incredibly happy, but unfortunately, I won't be able to play this masterpiece. And all because I come from a poor family, we just can't afford a console. Hello from Russia
I'm glad they stuck with the minimal music. A lot of people complained about BotW not having a constant overworld theme, but I think the lack of music really sold the empty post-apocolyptic world, and made the towns feel much more likely because of their music. Since the world is starting to recover, I expect more music, but it sounds like the same small piano cues which I'm completely fine with
This!! I was shocked when I saw the time stamp when I checked it for a few minutes because it was almost over! This is a HUGE GOOD sign about the game. It’s going to be sooo juicy
I love the conversational tone these videos have. You can really tell how much the developers love what they've made and are excited to share it with you.

I've always said that Fallout 3/New Vegas had the best durability system because they allowed you to repair weapons on the fly with looted duplicates. They then missed the chance to improve it by tying it into FO4's resource system. This fusion mechanic seems like it's not only creating that idealized system, but improving upon it dramatically.
Expect alot of dick shaped inventions.
The fuse mechanic is just brilliant. And a great compromise to the criticism about damaged weapons
I agree
Definitely sounds like a mechanic made because people didn't like how fragile the weapons were. I didn't mind the weapon breakage concept but it felt like some of the better weapons were made of glass sometimes
Agreed
Yeah I was concerned at first that they hadn't addressed the weapon damage issue but I think the fusion mechanic is sperfect compromise
Well done!

Zelda fans that think botw is not a zelda game probably wont play this game
As soon as they showed the weapon fusing that’s when my attention really started to rise highly, this honestly looks really cool
Can’t wait for Prosafia to spoil the final boss.
I love the Fuse ability. Lots of monster parts were basically irrelevant midgame for a non completionist botw run. They basically became just something to sell for the most part but the problem is you don't really need lots of money in botw during normal gameplay

11:47 can we just acknowledge how cool it was that they even accounted for how big the splash should be, and that they even made the splash drops rain back down
tbf the drop would have flattened a tank but still cool
But link has a lower terminal velocity than a tank plus he landed on water. It would probably still hurt but I guess link has super strength.
@@SuperJeyms Actually Link would have a higher terminal velocity than a tank. . Terminal velocity is the maximum velocity an object can reach while falling through a fluid/gas, such as air. The larger surface area and different shape of a tank would cause it to reach a lower terminal velocity than a human, especially if the human dives like Link here
Both a tank and a human will fall at the same rate in a vacuum. This is due to the fact that the acceleration due to gravity is constant for all objects regardless of their mass, shape or size. This acceleration is approximately 9.81 meters per second squared (m/s²) near the Earth's surface.
due the surface tension of the water, link would pretty much get the same effect as landing on solid ground
Funfact: Even a beam of light would fall at the same speed as everything else in a vacuum, you can see it bending around planets during a eclipse

TotK my interest in exploring is going to be more about returning to the places I know and seeing what has changed.
but it's the same map with tiny new floating blobs added, you can't really explore anymore since much of it is the same or slightly changed

Its just a different flavor of crafting system
