I found out that It was prince sidon,he was originally grey but he didnt stand out enough in zoras domain and he didn’t really look like miphas brother so they changed him to red.
I have always loved Zelda as a character and I'm glad to see how much time they put into developing her for this game. I just feel more connected with her as a character and feel that push to get to her. Of course I'm nowhere near that point where I can without being decimated (haven't even been able to defeat a Guardian yet). So it's an interesting feeling to want to explore and do all I can to take my time in this world, all the while having this pull to get to Zelda and save her. Fantastic job on this game. I love it!
I just want to say that this is my favorite Princess Zelda by far. Tetra/toon Zelda was my favorite but this Zelda showed that she didn't fully understand what's going on, and she's just a curious scholar. It is a very interesting way to create a princess. I hope for the next game, if there is a Majora-esque game, that we flesh out these characters and see them have different interactions. Also Sidon is a Zora x JoJo character and I love that guy. Dlc focused on Sidon please!
I'm 90+ hours in. 4 beasts defeated. I can't bring myself to raid the castle, yet! Or google/youtube advice or spoilers. Being a Zelda fan for almost 30 years, I constantly find things that rekindle emotions of yesteryear. It's overwhelming how heavy this game is, to me. And I can only deal with so much in a day, before I just smash bokoblin faces for an hour and marinate on what I just witnessed. This game
I'm the only one who wants to know more about Kass's master? And I've loved Zelda, I feel reflected seeing her, I've felt my emotions overflowing, and I like the way Link's touched her heart mostly her life and changed it, he was the light she needed to follow her path, she grows up with his help, that's the perfect resemble of what I understand with true love... that love that was born from "hate"...you never expected to fall in love with that guy, but you did it anyway and found peace in his words and actions, then you see he is really amazing and more mature than you, you feel the need to be strong just like he is, he teaches you how to live and bit by bit you grow understand life, he is someone different of you but your perfect complement, he helps you do the impossible: transmute coal into gold, transmute your flaws into qualities. Because you don't need someone who don't care if you are drowing in your problems and flaws, you need someone who makes you go up, improve and change. Cute, really cute. So Zelda is my fav character (well.. Link too) and second is Daruk, then Urbosa and Sidon.
juddleton Did you watch the video? They weren't referring to how characters changed in the concept art (you can clearly see that throughout the video) but a character's design that changed in a trailer released in January versus how they looked in the completed product?
I went through the entire trailer and compared every character with their retail counterpart, and they all look identical. Even characters in the background e.g. Zora king etc.
Zelda games do not need to have a timeline, because it's a Legend, hence the title. Ever noticed how in every game it's basically always just Link, Zelda and Ganon? That's because it's essentially the same Legend being retold countless times, and there's always variations in the story because it's being told differently. Imagine a real world legend, and how many times it has changed over the milleniums. In the original Epic of Gilgamesh, there's a legend of an ark that survives the flood, and it predates the story of Noah in the Bible by over 2,000 years. Same thing with Zelda, same legend, but the details change with every retelling. The timeline is *NOT* important, the story is.
The Elder Scrolls series is similar however. They are all just stories being told (with a few odd inaccuracies between games.) However there is still a history that each game has with the other. Zelda is like that. Each game has it's own history that connects with the other games. Sometimes there are innacuracies, but by creating a universe of games and legends that connect together it makes the worlds feel so much more alive. Imagine if Wind Waker or Twilight Princess never referenced Ocarina of Time when you find the Master Sword. It wouldn't be nearly as special if that story between games wasn't present.
I don't understand the pure, unexplained love for prince Sidon over Zelda... I mean is it just meme status because he's "shark-head"? Because, like, that's all the Zora. Literally every single one of the Zora looks that way. I also have absolutely no idea why so many people dislike her English voice. It's actually excellent they went the route they did; as Zelda has always had an aesthetic that fit medieval fantasy, I feel like her voice needed to embody a more afflicted spirit in times where you're held in such high regard and so much is expected of you. If you watch most of the memories you'll see what I mean. Really, Aonuma, you and your team hit it just right this time. Excellent work. PS: Mipha x Link isn't real, it's just about as real as Ruto x Link was. Just a side-story arch. Fight me.
We all know Zelda did loved Link at the end. In front of Deku Tree she said "Could you please deliever him a message from me? I.." And the Deku interrupts her with his wisdom that she needs to tell the deepest thoughts of her heart in front of him.
I love how much personality they gave minor enemies and NPCs. Bokoblin dance around campfires, NPCs get scared when you draw a weapon near them, enemies jump around in horror when they get lit on fire, etc. The enemies also get more tactical, like the Hinox learning to cover its eye or Bokoblin picking up your bombs and throwing them at you. To top it off, you get to loot the very equipment your foes use against you. I know these sorts of mechanics aren't unheard of, but I'm still impressed with how they shape the entire experience.
i love zelda in this game and her voice actor is great. y'all can hate all you want, i'm so glad she sounds like a young woman whose voice fits her personality instead of frazzled anime waifu like in the japanese version
Desmond Hollins You know there's more than English and Japanese, right? Just because someone doesn't like the English version doesn't make them a weaboo or "W" word, like you say. I'm not arguing with your opinion, since it's yours and you can like her English voice, that's fine, but it's rude to give names like that without considering others. In my opinion, her English voice is too dull, and gives the wrong impression sometimes (as many take her as an a**hole for it). As someone who played the game in multiple languages (other than English and Japanese, like French, Spanish and Russian) I still think that, sadly, her English voice is the most lacking.
CF J I like all of the english voice cast, especially Revali. But for Zelda, it's kinda hit or miss for me. May be because of her accent sound forced. Now compare her voice with Urbosa. You can tell the difference in the level of performance.
Little do they know that Prince Sidon is the favourite character for many in the game. Love all the characters but my favs are Mipha and Sidon. They are goals.
I do hope some of these ideas come back in a new Zelda game. I would not mind if they decided to make another open world Zelda with Link functioning as he does in Breath of the Wild. The tiny people concept sounds really creative and incredible, and that would be a great ability to use on a lot of other things that could be in an overworld, like sneaking into a house through some hole or crack or exploring forests that have more interesting things when you're small. Big enemies would totally have the advantage on you, and maybe one hit from them could probably mean a Game Over no matter what, or deal double the damage since Link is small. It would make any enemy some kind of mini boss or even boss battle as a small Link, and it would be awesome to actually defeat an enemy as a really small Link that would have abilities that regular Link would not have, like maybe using some leaf or flower that would make him able to float around and fly and other small objects and tools that would not work with a regular but heavier Link. In fact, it would be awesome to see Link transform into other creatures and have those abilities to fight enemies with. Maybe having Link in another Zelda game transform into a Picori and be smaller, fragile and really light. Maybe have Link transform into some enemies like a Lynel and gain abilities they have. You could even make Link transform into a Wolf and have the abilities he has in Twilight Princess like climbing places fast by jumping and dig on the ground.
zelda's character was the most detailed and most memoriable for me its really shine trough they worked on it the most they could have been even more brave with this, its not deeply in the fanchise but in this episode they could have really make them lovers. i mean i waited a litle hand holding at the end it wouldnt be too much
They said after Ocarina of Time, not _directly_ after Ocarina of Time. All that means is it's after the timeline split which can be anywhere excluding only 4 games.
Andruidus SPOILER ALERT: This game takes place in the Child Timeline after Twilight Princess. In memory number 1, when Zelda is doing a ceremonial thing for Link to be her chosen knight she mentions 3 different eras. It went something along the lines of, "The hero who was Skyward bound" (Skyward Sword), "the hero who goes through time" (Ocarina of Time), and "the hero who went through the embers of twilight" (Twilight Princess). END OF SPOILERS.
I like how they're encouraged to have such of the wall ideas to bring to the table. Link in a space suit, wearing a jacket on a motorcycle. So many creative minds working together to ultimately create this masterpiece in the end. It's cool that the motorcycle actually made it into the game!
I have to agree, Zelda is the best character in this game. They added so many emotions to her and we see how powerful she can be. But that's only because she was the one with the most dialogues. I'm sure that if we would've had more interactions with the Champions (mostly Mipha and Urbosa), we wouldn't be saying the same thing. The Champions really needed more development and more backstory. I hope that, in the Story DLC or in the Next Zelda, this is "fixed".
Seend the concept art here makes me joyfull because i already see so many great artists and concepts all over the internet and these people could also wind up at amazing projects
This game was a masterpiece, and although it would have been cool to see the return of masks, or those little guys they were talking about, I feel like the whole experience hits all the right points; the memory system was ingenious as well for story progression
Loving the chance to see the making of this game! After 3 years of waiting, makes me really glad to see what they did in all of these delays- all I can say is that those delays were worth it!
@@dirtydirtsgt4751 no, not just turning the game into 3D, but it will end up like Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker, a complete revamp Sorry if I wasn't clearer
Nintendo... You absolutely nailed this game. It will probably be one of my favorite games for the rest of my life. Thank you for such an amazing gaming experience that no other series has given me.
Or just more interactions between all the champions. So much untapped potential in those characters. Just enough to make the dungeons to have a very somber tone.
@Zunikanu Not necessarily. I think that just being Link and showing how he was connected emotionally with all of the champions in more detail would be nice. But having to reunite in the same form would either require dying, or having Mipha come back. Regardless, I can't wait to see what the DLC has in store! ^-^
I'd be down for a prequel story of sorts where we can flesh out the champions more. Their designs are all great and their interactions are funny (and touching, in Mipha's case) and I'd love to see more of them.
This game is by far one of the most elaborately planned games on game design. They simply wanted characters to be likable. Most of the time, they take some inspiration of characters and seem to mold it into something much more complex. Complex as the guardians origin
It would be really cool if we could get a Minish-based storyline in the DLC for this game. It could really help to expand their role in the world of Hyrule since they've only appeared in one game so far. Also, imagine if we could get a Shiekah rune based on Minish Cap that would let you make 3 temporary Link clones for use in combat and puzzle-solving.
IcYGodZ i have both lol but i can also see the clear winner i have 70+ hours in horizon and 450+ hours in botw i love them both but there is a lot more to do in botw
I'd really like to see them make a book entitled "The Art of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" Where they can show a lot of their concept art, comments, and other things they may not cover in a video. I dunno, I'd totally buy a book like that. I'd probably use it a lot for a lot of things.
Thank you Nintendo for sharing this precious information. There was a lot to learn, and I hope I would be able to work with or for you someday, as a character designer :)
These interviews are really nice. They are actually showing me a few things I can do in the game that I didn't think of myself. Like fighting a skeleton with his own head.
I'm not sure what the art director meant about changing the color of a character... I rewatched the trailer from the Switch presentation, and as far as I can tell, everything looks as it does in the final game. Maybe they mean one of the Koroks.
Thank you, Nintendo! This game is so fun and it's what I've been hoping for in a Zelda game for years. I've been playing Zelda since I was a litttttttle kid, this games simply means the world to me. Awesome job!

Probably Sidon. His original design was grey, but that made him basically invisible in Zora's domain (obvious problem lol) so they changed him to be red like his sister.
I love it!
7:00 I've put 345 hours in this game, and I'm just now learning you can punt a bokoblin skull.
Link too) and second is Daruk, then Urbosa and Sidon.
someone needs a cat
That was so beautifully said 🌹
at 5:00 he was talking about a character who changed between the january trailer and the game's release. anyone know which character that is?
But she wasn't there in the trailer
That ain't Urbosa, that's the loli Gerudo
juddleton Did you watch the video? They weren't referring to how characters changed in the concept art (you can clearly see that throughout the video) but a character's design that changed in a trailer released in January versus how they looked in the completed product?
Nope, Riju looks identical in the retailer version of the game as she did in the trailer. Down to all the jewelry. So it isn't her.
It wouldn't be nearly as special if that story between games wasn't present.
couldn't have said it better
agreed
I still like the idea of a timeline, if only to know that the events from previous games happened
i like this "good and evil battle forever" the evil will never be erased he will return in xxx years
I love how they designed zelda and how she changes with the time.
The german dub is perfect for her.
Fight me.
Sarcasmus THANK YOU. They literally say in the video Link and Zelda are the lovers
We all know Zelda did loved Link at the end. In front of Deku Tree she said "Could you please deliever him a message from me? I.."
And the Deku interrupts her with his wisdom that she needs to tell the deepest thoughts of her heart in front of him.
Sarcasmus you
Mega Minx thank you. That's a reasonable answer. And in regards to Zelda... she gets better. Find more memories.
skilarbabcock The word could is there, which means it's an option but not the only one.
I love her english voice, she sounds very royal and like a young woman which suits her
Desmond Hollins You know there's more than English and Japanese, right?
Andieran26 How do you play in other languages? I've been dying to play in Spanish.
I agree, I love her voice. I think it fits Zelda wonderfully. The English voice cast is great.
Little do they know that Prince Sidon is the favourite character for many in the game.
Love all the characters but my favs are Mipha and Sidon. They are goals.
If they make a metroid game like this words cannot fathom how happy I'd be
I really like that short-haired design for Zelda at 2:40.
me too!!
Open your eyes, and share this Link.
Lol
Lol
Zelda and link do have a relationship of love.
Funny how the japanese speakers literally say "open-world" in english, but it is ridiculously translated as "open-air".
zelda's character was the most detailed and most memoriable for me its really shine trough they worked on it the most
they could have been even more brave with this, its not deeply in the fanchise but in this episode they could have really make them lovers. i mean i waited a litle hand holding at the end it wouldnt be too much
But Nintendo WHERE DOES IT FIT IN THE TIMELINE!
after ocarina of time. It's pretty clearly stated in the game itself.
Martin de Vries ok I haven't beaten the game yet
it's not at the end though, it's hinted around the start of the gerudo part.
They said after Ocarina of Time, not _directly_ after Ocarina of Time. All that means is it's after the timeline split which can be anywhere excluding only 4 games.
Andruidus
SPOILER ALERT:
This game takes place in the Child Timeline after Twilight Princess.
Princess Zelda and Link are both my favorite characters. I love the loyalty portrayed with them and their sense of friendship.
4:10 perfect. absolute perfection.
Samus link and meteroid
Can’t wait for videos like these after ToTK comes out
Please make Little People DLC a reality!
@Abdimalique Ismail LOL
I like how they're encouraged to have such of the wall ideas to bring to the table. Link in a space suit, wearing a jacket on a motorcycle. So many creative minds working together to ultimately create this masterpiece in the end. It's cool that the motorcycle actually made it into the game!
7:55 We'll 100% have a Minish village in BotW2
The way they talk about their work.. these guys have true passion for what they are doing and its so interesting listening to it
I have to agree, Zelda is the best character in this game.
7:55 Imagine they go on with this concept and we end up getting a Minish Cap 3D remaster 😭😭😭😭
Turning 2d game into 3d is called remake
@@dirtydirtsgt4751 no, not just turning the game into 3D, but it will end up like Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker, a complete revamp
Sorry if I wasn't clearer
Nintendo... You absolutely nailed this game. It will probably be one of my favorite games for the rest of my life.
Thank you for such an amazing gaming experience that no other series has given me.
That ending musing gives me goosebumps
They mixed the piano very cleverly here. Field theme was playing until 2:24, Rito Village intro (beautiful!) and then 2:37 Temple of Time.
I hope they use the idea of Tiny People in the sequel.
Never give Zelda short hair tho x_x Her long hair looks awesome in Botw
Long blonde hair is top tier hair style.
Short black hair is better than anything
This. I generally hate short hair on females. If I want females to be males I'll ask for it. :-o
Like Bayonetta's
inceptional so nobody can do what they want unless tou say its ok
the guardian is based off an octorock
uh...
those must have been some badass octorocks
Truly breath-taking
Please make it so we can reunite with Mipha in the DLC
Definitely wanting to see more interactions between the two
Or just more interactions between all the champions. So much untapped potential in those characters. Just enough to make the dungeons to have a very somber tone.
and suddenly dlcs don't sound so bad after all ;D
7:58 is that the bug kid from skyward sword (the one that was like 7 years old)
I was thinking the picori's from minish cap
love how they always come up with the making of the Zelda games and breath of the wild is no exception.
How thr story was set:
Aonuma: what was story idea we had?
Nintendo worker : I don't remember
Aonuma : that's it! :D
Let's make the players watch a movie. That should make them invested in her character!
@@victorhugocosta1127 thats literally how any zelda story functions, ever.
Oh man, my heart stopped at 2:38 when I saw the concept art for Zelda with short hair. Beautiful.
It would be really cool if we could get a Minish-based storyline in the DLC for this game. It could really help to expand their role in the world of Hyrule since they've only appeared in one game so far. Also, imagine if we could get a Shiekah rune based on Minish Cap that would let you make 3 temporary Link clones for use in combat and puzzle-solving.
i started crying when i saw the trailer.....so majestic!
"You'll see times when she's getting along with Link, almost a bit *flirty* ,"
Me having flashbacks of:
"How about a kiss for good luck?"
*shudder*
I was thinking the EXACT same thing 😂
Nintendo once again hit a home run with Zelda! I'm glad to be snowed in with this game!
Its garbage. get horizon bruh
IcYGodZ The elitism is real.
+IcYGodZ ok why not we enjoy whatever we want, be "real adults" and be mature enough not to bash whatever doesn't align with your views
+IcYGodZ your garbage dude. I love the game I have it so how you gonna tell me?
IcYGodZ i have both lol but i can also see the clear winner
i have 70+ hours in horizon and 450+ hours in botw
i love them both but there is a lot more to do in botw
I'd really like to see them make a book entitled "The Art of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild"
Where they can show a lot of their concept art, comments, and other things they may not cover in a video.
I dunno, I'd totally buy a book like that. I'd probably use it a lot for a lot of things.
Creating a Champion😹
did you buy it already xd
I'm seriously in love with that game. I don't think any game will ever be able to beat it. I miss the BOTW world when I'm not playing lol.
"When you're too focused on doing a game's story in a certain way, that ruins the gameplay."
That statement alarms me
Oh, man, I hope they have these tiny people and homes (like the Minish??) concept in TOTK! Would be so cool and cute! :D
The creation of the best game to ever get in the hands of a gamer
I want to shake the hand of each and every person involved with the creation of this game. It's a masterpiece.
best game i ever played. Hype is real
Thank you Nintendo for sharing this precious information. There was a lot to learn, and I hope I would be able to work with or for you someday, as a character designer :)
2:26 I love that concept art! :o Holy cow Zelda looks beautiful!
oh my freaking god xD the concept art of Link on the motorcycle
I'm still trying to figure out which character changed color schemes between the final trailer and release
Love it! :D Always amazing seeing Behind The Scenes stuff, especially for Zelda! Breath of the Wild is absolutely AMAZING!!
They should do interviews with the voice actors/actresses.
I love how they show actual concept art like, it isn’t perfect but it gives a lot of insight to the game
