That tube extension is called a “snipe” around here. You can get fancy and add a length to the name. People here use electrical conduit. EMT 1/2” x 1’, 3/4” x 2’ and rigid 1” x 3’ are in most guy’s mechanics tool set. Be sure to de-burr the ends. Slipping off is not unheard of when those things come out. I add hockey stick tape to both ends. I sure you can buy it in a minimart where you are.
Venting the engine can be done without a catch can. You just drill out some hole in your lower valve floor area. Then vent with a one way valve out of your valve cover. Venting the engine prolongs the life of the engine Remember to make them fast and make them last...
Hey I bought the predator ghost 212 and the ultra light flywheel didn’t fit . A builder installed a billet non hemi flywheel on it . He said that the engine is a non hemi . Does this make any difference or will it cause problems?
Box wrench is that side of the wrench. Crescent wrench is the box wrench that is adjustable with the wheel. You could break that with a cheater bar but you are unlikely to break a standard box wrench.
do you have a video explaining the gas cap vaccum and drilling a hole 5/32 to help prevent the vacuum? My bike bogs wot with my gas cap fully closed and when I unscrew it a bit it doesn't bog anymore but I run the risk on my gas cap flying off mid ride.
Hey man, I am doing a complete rebuild for the same exact engine and decided to do this build. I was making my list and at around 4:19 you said a part that I couldn't make out very well. It was right before the spark plug. If you get to this, could you let me know which part it is and possibly give me any advice on the overall performance and experience with this build? Thanks
7/16" bolt, for tapping into the oil sensor hole. The engine has pretty good performance, and is a setup for some pretty decent power as is - that you can take even further to stage 4 level with balancing the crank, honing the cylinder, porting and polishing the head and a few other steps. The cs grind cam is a 265 lift cam similar to the popular cm grind and hot 265. If you do not shim 22lb springs, you can change to 26lb. This is a fast build that is inexpensive that kicks out power giving a great engine build experience. The catch can can does not have to be bolted to the engine, that just made it easier to contain for me. Many people prefer to buy a spacer for the valve cover and run the crank case vent into the spacer. Jet size will vary on a few things, you may want to run between 120-135, depending so having a kit helps.

Goodluck .Try Craigslist or Feebay for a used carb from a parted 90s- 2200 bike.
Stage 4 predator...why does it spit and sputter at wot? I have 22lb valve springs but seems like it valve floats at high rpm range..do I need heavier springs?
so do they sell just "plastic gauge" or do we strip it off a wire? What gauge wire do we strip it off? I imagine you can throw a big fat gauge on there or else itll squish out really wide and go off the comparison chart.

Most would buy an adapter/lift for the valve cover and run the line from the crank case to the valve cover and then into the catch can - but I swap engines frequently. This keeps it all contained in one place for demo purposes.
@@ethanduke813 I have a video on my channel with how I mounted it, you can either tap the governor hole for a relief with a hose going to the valve cover and then a hose from the valve cover to the can, or you can tap the side cover or get the billet side cover and do the same thing. It helps a lot for cams with higher spring pressure to relieve the block. I cracked my first 2 blocks not knowing it.
Those catch cans on a mini bike are bs to me. Run all vent hoses together into a large id hose and up to a high spot on frame with a filter. Ive never had oil come out. I'd add a flat top piston to that build. Lighter too!

Do you ever check the valve clearance, I got a feeler gauge at oreillys for 5$ they had 3 options make sure to get the one that goes to the smallest sizes

I've made more than just the 1 of these. This was made after running these guys. This is a base for a larger build and information on how to build higher output engines. Shows part names, list, tools, etc. Build ideas, etc.

Drum clutch the hilliard inferno fire can take some power but getting sprockets is a little difficult. Best for most mini bike applications. For disc clutch The gofasthp.com clutches are hand made and you can get help for your build. Actually may be able to get help and the right parts for either setup. Last clutch I bought from them, best prices out there other than a 2 disc from childishconcepts.com which is also a great place for help on a specific build.

How does a engine stock cam so 9k?? I have 22lb valve springs stock cam no govonor was removed and capped off but 6550rpm wide open on go-kart geared heavy 4.90 ratio. Stock carb with .38 high and .20 low
Depends on your adjustments. Possibly. If you are worried, then get the riser for the cover that has a built in hole for any future needed oil inlet and you'll be one step ahead.

Most power bored and stroked with welded billet head running on alcohol can run $3000 and get you 30hp. Once you hit stage 4 you have a lot of options to take it past the 20 hp limit, however these crank cases usually blow up at 25hp and need a lot of reinforcement. If you're looking at stage 4, the crank case from a tillotson 212r is much more recommended once at this level. Most all power upgrades for that build are custom fabrication and metal manipulation.
For a purchased kit build, Red Beards Garage UA-cam channel has a build video. You will likely need to further research high compression heads, balancing your crankshaft, boring and stroking the engine, and port work on top of that. It's a lot more work than just 1 video. 😉
Knocking off most of the texture of the surface, does not have to be 100% smooth. You are not taking off more than the texture. Not sure why they chose to texture the surface of the piston.

Every time I buy a cam with a target rpm I can never get my bike to reach the target because I weigh 240. I have a cam that’s good for 7500 RPM I can’t get it to go past 68, I have a brand new 308 Cam that I’m afraid to put in it because if it doesn’t do anything, it was a waste of time.
Cable install? Jet install? 38 low, 120 high, needle kept in middle piston depending on elevation for starts and temp. Throttle cable fit for slide carb. Slide manifold

I built this motor abs itsv the craziest thing I've ever ridden on before I put the big carb it did 50 then I put carb on was popping wheelies at 30 I was scared to go full throttle plus it was bogging

Drill a hole into the gas cap for better fuel flow if you’re using the stock tank, apparently the breather hose on the top Isn’t enough.

Should have used a colder plug, like a 6 or even try a 7. A 5 seems like it'd be too hot for this.
Unless you use ngk plugs..the lower the number, cooler the plug..

Yes-ish for better. It has better reviews from people I know who run them in regards to tuning. Fits same engines, based on size you get.

Depends. Lots for sale on there. Some are good, some are not. Some are Honda clones in full and easy to mod, some not.
