When I built my truck, it didn't take long to realize I wasn't just building a truck. Me and my kids built a ton of memories. Fishing, hauling music gear, backroads... man you are doing it right. Love this.

He's doin a great job though. I wouldhave tried to make that roof height about another 6" higher though.. .but that's just me.
Wow!!!!! You are an amazing on the fly builder!!!! I want one 🤩👍 How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. 😋 Watched some videos on people making overland camp trailers and sealed them up completely all the way around with what they call “poor mans fiberglass” glue, canvas and paint. I guess it’s how they used to skin airplanes back in the day. Get a hole or a tear give it a scuff, glue, canvas and paint. All fixed. I guess it’s tough and holds up to weather and also is structural and non toxic. The glue is hoof and hide glue like Elmers and the canvas is cotton. I know when you glue to pieces of wood together with Elmers that joint ends up stronger than the wood. 100% sealed probably last almost forever. Check it out? Are you going to be using the same engine or do you think you might need a little more horsepower for the heavier craft? I certainly admire your skill and design.
Oh yea lil g is growing for sure the extra room will definitely help. I’m will use the same engine For the time being it should push it decent as we just slow cruise around anyways but it does get on step I won’t complain lol👍✌️🛥🎣
Have you looked into putting poor man's fiberglass on it? They have a ton of videos and info on here about it. Seems like it would be a good option for this build, looking good though.
I did seems pretty good. But I decided to go with a elastomeric coating on the roof and just paint the walls as we do brush against trees in places. That’s what I used on the other boat and it held up well. Thanks Fot the input👍✌️🛥🎣
I would think again on the rubber roof. I have a camper with a rubber roof. Used very little and it started leaking. It has split and will wear out fast. They wanted $5000.00 to start, plus screws any wood under it that needed replacing. I would go with a good non skid paint or even epoxy resin. Just my 2 ¢.
