That would make sense. Toad has been a big fan want and this venue would be as good a way to get him out as any other. We know they just love using that hulk body. Another new head, shading on the body and wash on the pants, maybe a more olive green. Ironman would basically just be the AI Tony with a new head and maybe metallic yellow instead of flat yellow. Add in some panel lining and the rocket blasts from war machine and you got a $32 repaint. Then toad can either be a new sculpt, or just doc oct with retro dooms collar.

@@OgGuak420 True, but I think the AI Tony suffered in a few ways. For one, it just misses the classic mark by having the blue chest light. Seems like a small thing, but it put some people off that wanted a true classic look. Second, the yellow plastic just seems... flat? The color seems accurate enough, but it feels too plasticy. A nice metallic yellow with shading would look much nicer. Through in the panel lines, maybe a slightly metallic red, all the blast effects, and I would rebuy this mold. Also, it was part of a wave that didn't do too well over all and was right on the heels of a full on Ironman wave where we got a classic 90's looking Ironman.
Give some space between releases, throw in some effects, new classic helmet, it would sell decently enough.
Love the figure! Accessories are great except for holes in Cap’s iconic shield for effects. Not everyone wants to display the figure with effects plugging the holes.

They could have e been done differently, but we do have plenty of cap sheilds out there. I'm totally fine with this one being for effects. They look really neat.
I only have the 80th cap in my collection. It was the only one that I liked. This one looks like it will replace it. It hits all the right points, even for a character that isn't at the top of my list.
I'm just going to retire my retro craded Cap and give him his shield.

What’s amazing as well is that the masked head resembles the old school Captain America movie Cap imo. The unmasked head just screaams classic Marvel comics drawings Steve. Can’t wait to have him on the shelf.

This looks so sick, easily the best classic captain america 6 inch figure.
My only gripe is that it doesn't come with a regular shield.

They're doing that so they can re-re-release it with a normal shield, in this colour scheme hopefully.

Congrats Wade! Interested to see what the shoulder articulation is like on this bad boy! I personally feel it’s one area Hasbro haven’t nailed yet on the Grim Reaper mould, and the 80th Anniversary shoulder articulation was better but still not quite there, however the head sculpt is fantastic!

The shield effects are really cool. But, the main 'flaw' is the holes in the shield which is kinda heartbreaking to me. Hasbro even put a gloss to the shield and I wish those peg holes weren't there for a more static or vanilla look.
Last year I installed some new shelves to display my Marvel Legends, of which I didn't have many, and after doing so I was left with plenty of space to fill. I caught up with the 80 years figures I missed out on the year before and had a pretty solid Avengers lineup, but I was never happy with the 80 Years Cap. Mine had really wonky eyes, sloppy paint in places and just in general was underwhelming to me compared to the Iron Man or Hulk from the same series. Seeing this figure really makes me regret not waiting, either way glad you got to reveal this!

Congratulations!!! I’ll definitely pick this up, mainly because of the unmasked head sculpt and the alternative hands! I also love the effects of the shield and the new head sculpt does look improved!
Wow that looks amazing! The new head sculpts, multiple hands and effect pieces all add to the fun. The saturated colour palette really zings. A Spidey in those colours would look Spectacular.

I can't begin to state how AMAZING this figure is! I will be getting this at least x3: one for epic pose, one for combat look (with the shield effects and another with the unmasked look. I LOVE THIS FIGURE!!!!! Thank you for sharing this with us! This just made my whole year seeing this!!!
oh my god, this looks amazing! the only ways I think it could be improved on would be pinless joints and if they found a way to not have the holes in the shield, but those are both so minor. these are probably the best non MCU heads I've ever seen on a marvel legends figure

Great to see Hasbro sending some love your way! That Cap looks awesome, but that shield is a total deal breaker for me. The effects look cool, but they should've done them in a way that didn't leave holes in the shield. No other shield is going to match that blue on the figure. Hopefully, they don't screw up Iron Man or Hulk.
Exactly. Everyone's acting as if all Caps have the same color scheme lol. Most other shields just aren't going to match. Surely they did that so it can be re-re-released in an upcoming wave with a complete shield...and hopefully all the colors match up.
And this will be the iron Man we all wanted two figures back. I don't think a company like Hasbro (hardly) ever screws up. Customers call smart business moves 'screw ups', but it solidifies they'll always be a customer no matter what. _Never_ give the people what they want, at least not all at once...you wouldn't make as much money.

Awesome reveal! Congrats. BTW, that one shield effect that you said looked like scraping (the second one you showed) is from the cover of Captain America Annual #8 where Wolverine is slashing Cap's shield. I guess they included that effect so that people can recreate that scene. Which is awesome!

🇺🇸 Looks great! Like a combo of 80th & Retro. I’d like to get the arcade team together!
Cap’s classic costume has barely changed in the past like 70 years so this fits with so many displays. (kinda like the Nightcrawler and recent Human Torch, although markedly more versatile) Sure there’s been different things like the Ultimates and the Marvel now stuff, which is what the movie costumes are based on, but as far as 616 baseline Steve Rogers this is basically perfect!

Its a great figure but I prefer the 80th version.
I don't like this new masked head and if you dont put the effects on the shield you going to have 3 holes hahaha.
But in overall its a solid figure.
Kinda the same here. I'm not a fan of the small eyeholes, but I'm more a fan of the vibrant color scheme, minus those stain looking things on the red stripes.

I’m happy you got this reveal, but I’m super disappointed in this. It’s pretty much a repaint with a new head sculpt and a few accessories. The way Dan teased it, I thought it was going to be at least pinless.
I thought they would update the articulation and I wish they had BUT I still think this is an amazing piece and can’t wait to own it!

I’m an older cat so I even see the lightness here to the secret wars captain America from the early 80s from the Mattel line specially in color.
mmm....for some reason they went back with the hip joints, the 80th anniversary Cap, had new hip joints with wrinkles and better range of motion, this figure uses the old Grim Reapear/Cap wolf hips

I was debating whether or not to get this but the head is what seals the deal. Both sculpt and paint. I'm blown away. Not sure why they didn't use the better hip joints from the 80th cap, though.

Missed out on the 80th Capt so glad I can get another chance. It's a little thing, but I don't understand why they changed the hips. The fabric folds in the 80th look more like the classic art than the smooth.
I agree. I feel like the capwolf hips look a little thinner than the alex Ross hips. But its a minor nitpick

AWESOME! My only criticism of the the 80th Cap was the color - I wanted that figure, but in this figure's blue. And I never though that head was small; now I will never not see it.

I glad I waited to get the 80th cap. I like this one way better. Hasbro please stop getting exclusives to walmart. That unmasked head sculpt is awesome and the shield effects is awesome too. Hope they do a 20th hulk. Congrats on getting to reveal this figure!!

This figure is cool, but I’m a little disappointed they kept the same straight waist cut swivel. I was really hoping that with these 20th anniversary figs they’d create a barbell waist joint and sink the torso into the waist/groin piece, like the joes currently have.
Now if they'll just give us a classic Spidey with light blue and red, my collection willl be complete.
