This figure looks nicer and nicer every time I see it, but as tempting as it is, the 80th Anniversary Iron Man is still the king as far as I’m concerned. The flat yellow and red is how WE (the reader) saw Iron Man in the comics, but I stand by the belief that this color scheme was a result of the limited printing technology available at the time. Stan Lee was already calling Iron Man “The Golden Avenger” as early as 1965, so I truly believe that Marvel would have given Iron Man those metallic red and gold colors if the technology at the time had allowed them to.
I'm also with you on this one. We had the Ironman #300 (1994) in foil cover and I always believed it was the optimal look for Ironman. The comics just portrayed it yellowish but clearly, it was gold due to its shine. This is why I hesitated on this figure. I hope we get a gold version of this figure because I want to complete the 1994 Iron Legion in metallic paints.
Something funny about the backdrop is that not even Marvel Legends' own manufacturers seemed to realize that the diorama that came with the Series 1 Iron Man was one half of a satellite. The panels with the Stark logo are a solar array, not a sign.
I like what I'm seeing. The only thing I would add are full comics copies which were probably the best bonuses in ToyBiz figures. At least McFarlane is doing something similar. Good to see this concept didn't die.
So I actually love the Bronson head sculpt for this reason: it makes me think of Iron Man existing in the 70s, right around the time of Ferrigno's Hulk, and the 20th anniversary Hulk also has 70s hair, so they match one another really well, as does my Ragnarok Thor in his classic costume. I can easily picture Bronson with a cigar in this armour, being a sleazier version of the character that offsets Bill Bixby's incredibly noble and kind-hearted Banner.
Oddly enough, it looks like they just reused the same body as the 80th Anniversary/AI Stark Figure, but just put a cover on top to make it look bulkier. Looks pretty good though!
Still funny to me that the Tony head would be more accurate on the 80th anniversary mold, while the 80th anniversary Tony Stark head matches this Ditko armor design better
First class review. I remember buying the comics, new from the drugstore, when Iron Man wore the pointy face plate. It's a cool figure but I like using the AI Iron Man as my classic Shell-Head. Also I save myself 33 bucks for something I like better.
It may not be the right thing according to the marketing department, but for in-box collectors it would be pretty neat to have the Tony Stark head attached to the figure and the helmet packed next to him. So it looks more a guy who puts on a helmet instead of a robot toy with an extra head.
The Black Smoke effects are going straight to Darkstar. They aren't particularly accurate to her powers but at least it's a black effect that she can use.
Man, I picked a really good time to get back into Marvel Legends. I really want to put together a 90’s style Avengers team and all these anniversary figures look perfect for that.
Bro Shartimus, I know the feeling. I found a new white Moon Knight at Walgreens and I was short on money so I came back and he was gone. I looked in the store, other Walgreens but nope. Now my soul was left broken and will crave that figure forever.
WOW this is amazing!! Great review as always, looks like a dope figure and the nostalgia is incredible!! Marvel Legends was always my favorite, I wish I could still collect them. Can't wait for the Captain America, that one was my very first figure back in the day. ❤🔥
I love this version of classic Iron Man! Another great review, man! Regarding putting the Charlie Bronson Tony head on a suit body, the new Happy Hogan/Hammerhead suit body is my new default for comic series Legends wearing suits. I specifically used a Happy Hogan to recreate the "Acts of Vengeance" Red Skull. Hopefully Hasbro keeps putting out more suited characters.
Alright let me help you out here buddy the armor with the pointy faceplate is the Model 3(Proto-Classic) the Classic armor is Model 4 and the Golden Avenger armor is Model 2
no. the golden armor is the model 1 just painted gold. the horned helmet that was designed by ditko was the model 2. the model 3 was the same with the model 2, its just that the horns on the helmet was hammered down. model 4 is the classic.
I was surprised to see how tall he was especially compared to the big time let down I was hoping you were gonna do a comparison of the tony stark heads
Ironically this figure has a perfect 'Demon in a Bottle' Tony Stark head sculpt and would therefore go better with the 80years figure, while the Tony head sculpt from that figure would be perfect with this figure as a silver age mk II Iron Man.
I won't lie. I am so happy that Hasbro are giving Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary figures. For me, this is the best hobby ever to collect Marvel Legends. 20th Anniv. Ironman looks great even with the Charles Bronson head sculpt🤣.
I would love it if Hasbro revisited the First Class of X-Men in this Marvel Legends 20th trend. Those figures would be fitting the classic version needs as well as could use a revamp from the old pack.
I don’t miss the clamshell packaging at all, it was a pain open when I was little, especially when you don’t have scissors or knives. I did however loved the back though where it showed their power levels and long paragraphed backstories.
Nice review Shartimus! I didn't bother buying this Iron Man sadly because I already had the Stealth suit and Modular Iron Man's from Ursa Major wave so all I needed for Iron Man/Tony. But the Captain America from this 20th anniversary "wave"? Oh man, I had to get him! He'll arrive around next week. Can't wait!
This 20th anniversary Ironman figure does look cool in my opinion because it reminds me of the look when he was with Captain America, Thor, Giantman, and Wasp, which was the time Cap returned after he was unfrozen, But Shartimus did you try ''The Batman'' calzony from Lil' Ceazers?, I will. As always great review.
Great video! The figure certainly looks cool. Thanks for the review! Say, I saw somewhere a version that included skate rollers for the boots. By chance, do you know which version is that?
Man, my original MK 2 Iron man fell the other day and his foot broke at the hinge. Guess I'll need a new Shell Head. Think I'll go with the AI version.
WE DESERVE A.) PINLESS JOINTS B.) MUCH WIDER SHOULDER TO CHEST MOVEMENT JUST LIKE THE REVOLTECH, C.) LONGER MOTION FOR NECK, D.) NOT A STRAIGHT HIP TWIST (Curve the waist for a better look) ALSO, HOW ABOUT "BLOB" and "THE BUFFED SABRETOOTH FROM 90s" AS A "BUILD A FIGURE"? THAT WILL BE DOPE!!
A shame that they've gone to the trouble of creating a new upper torso, but leaving the twin chest ports in the wrong position. For the MK2 armour, the ports should be lower down, in line with the base of the arc reactor, shouldn' t they? Also, he should be wearing "trunks" instead of "briefs"... Though I suppose that depends on which artist they were working from. A nice figure though, and certainly one more for the armoury! :)
This is not tge classic model 2 armor. I hate that they used the one from Superior Iron Man and not the original Ditko design. Both headsculpts are great, its the torso design that i really hate.
I like how they copied the original packaging, with these and the retro ones, but they should make them be able to be opened without cutting or destroying it
Anyways are you going to review the marvel legends 20th anniversary captain america and doctor strange in the multiverse of madness rintrah wave figures next my guy please tell me?
I am not really an Iron Man fan despite the movies. I've never really read a stand alone Iron Man comic unless it featured another character I liked such as Black Widow, however, I really couldn't pass this figure up. It looks way too cool and the best Iron Man figure they have ever done up to this point. I really like the overall look and the accessories look great too. Now I have no attachment to the packaging as I didn't collect Marvel Legends during the Toy Biz days, so I will be tossing that. I also think those TB Iron Mans you showed look horrid. They look like they are gorillas cosplaying as Iron Man. Now I'm sure twenty years ago they were amazing toys in hand given their level of articulation and detail, but I never liked the look of the old MLs. Hasbro though, has been killing it!

I'm with you. Plus, the gold looks like a high end collectable. The yellow looks like a plasticy toy.
How about metallic paint but with the bright color scheme

i have both and i like this one better idk why
Something funny about the backdrop is that not even Marvel Legends' own manufacturers seemed to realize that the diorama that came with the Series 1 Iron Man was one half of a satellite. The panels with the Stark logo are a solar array, not a sign.
Yes! I totally thought that head sculpt was Charles Bronson! I mean, I would have loved an Iron Man movie with Charles Bronson as Iron Man though.
I like what I'm seeing. The only thing I would add are full comics copies which were probably the best bonuses in ToyBiz figures.
At least McFarlane is doing something similar. Good to see this concept didn't die.
Toddy Mac is gonna be doin it with his comic figs now?? What!! ❤️
@@eddievelazquez5221 yeah, it will be 3.75 figures. Batman, Superman, Flash and Black Adam.
Well hey, I'm a customizer so a Charles Bronson head sculpt sounds good to me! Digging the Mark 2 helmet as well. Nice figure and nice review. 👍
Same.
Thanks for this idea! The only other black effects were from Sunspot and I don't have him, or any interest in getting him just for some accessories.
I BEEN SAYING HE LOOKS LIKE CHARLES BRONSON SINCE THEY SHOWED THIS FIGURE OFF LMAO
Great sculpt though
Man, I picked a really good time to get back into Marvel Legends. I really want to put together a 90’s style Avengers team and all these anniversary figures look perfect for that.

No Tony headswaps, bro???? You’re killing me, smalls
Can't wait to add this figure to my iron man armory
that clamshell packaging took me.back when I bought my first marvel legends. awesome review.
WOW this is amazing!! Great review as always, looks like a dope figure and the nostalgia is incredible!! Marvel Legends was always my favorite, I wish I could still collect them. Can't wait for the Captain America, that one was my very first figure back in the day. ❤🔥
That head sculpt looks beautiful!! I don’t need it…I must resist….
"Give in to the Stark side.."
NOOOO!
Detachable Face Plate, Put On Helmet/Hat, are the reasons why I love action figures back in those days.
I love this version of classic Iron Man! Another great review, man! I got the cap one from this version, pretty good figure and I like the new molds hasbro is going for from now on
I was surprised to see how tall he was especially compared to the big time let down
I was hoping you were gonna do a comparison of the tony stark heads
The charles head sculpt reminds me of the guy on the cover of incubus science
Those repulsor blasts could be repurposed for Iceman ice blasts.
Hey, yeah! 🤔👍
This is one of those figures that when you see it you buy it no question.
This is making me really want Hasbro to make a comic version of the hulkbuster armor since we only have the Toybiz version and the MCU version.
Ironically this figure has a perfect 'Demon in a Bottle' Tony Stark head sculpt and would therefore go better with the 80years figure, while the Tony head sculpt from that figure would be perfect with this figure as a silver age mk II Iron Man.
I have the same issue with the left shoulder joint, a bit annoying but in my opinion this doesn’t hurt the figure that much
I won't lie. I am so happy that Hasbro are giving Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary figures. For me, this is the best hobby ever to collect Marvel Legends. 20th Anniv. Ironman looks great even with the Charles Bronson head sculpt🤣.
Ironically the helmet of this armor was meant to allow people to see his eyes in the comic it was introduced.
Right, I'm still expecting a helmet with visible eyes
Damn that looks sick! I can feel the nostalgia effect just by looking at this
I would love it if Hasbro revisited the First Class of X-Men in this Marvel Legends 20th trend.
Those figures would be fitting the classic version needs as well as could use a revamp from the old pack.

He looks more like a young Tony Orlando 🤣4:22
Nice review Shartimus!

Heck yea I low key wanna get one. Have always loved the classic suit.
Thanks for showing how much Charles Bronson looks like Bronze Age Tony Stark.
I found out that the vintage wave figures can be cut in half in the side and open like a book
The head sculpt looks perfect as a comic figure but it looks more like Howard stark rather than tony
Ty for being the best
My only gripe is that for the price point Iron man and Captain didn't have pinless joints
Was expecting pinless
i know we just got a spiderman set but imagine marvel legends doing the original toy biz spiderman classics figures again🤔
I don't have this figure, But I still like the 80 years, AI, Stealth, Silver Centurion, and Modular Ironman figures more. #Ironman party yeah.
They make too many good Iron Man figures lol
I pre-ordered that same Iron Man figure one for me and one for my dad and Gamestop we are both collectors
I instantly thought Charles bronson when I saw it on amazon
Headsculpt looks like the young Stan Lee.
The headsculpt reminds me of Swordman from Hawkeye series
Just need a 6 inch scale of X-O Manowar and we got a Heavy Metal pair.
You’ve got Iron Man’s smoke effect on the wrong way, lmao!
The physics doesn’t make sense to have the smoke going forward and not backwards in motion.
finally no toad separate eyes ironman helmet
The new head's not too big for the 10th body. It's Tony Stark.
The 80th and modular still much better to me.
Great video! The figure certainly looks cool. Thanks for the review!
Say, I saw somewhere a version that included skate rollers for the boots. By chance, do you know which version is that?
Kinda weird that Model 2 figure got the Demon in The Bottle head and Classic Armor figure got the early Ditko era head.
Where do you get the stands?
I really like the figure. Reminds me of Ditko's IronMan..!!
I love the iron man figure
Did you try putting the Tony Stark head on another suited body? Like the Hammerhead or Kree Sentry BAF Nick Fury?
Man, my original MK 2 Iron man fell the other day and his foot broke at the hinge. Guess I'll need a new Shell Head. Think I'll go with the AI version.
hey shartimus are you gonna review the hobgoblin from the retrowave?
thats no Tony Stark, thats the swordsman from hawkeye
Epic
Yessir 🖤💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
you should try tony stark head with hammerhead body
Can you make a Ironman party video with the comic and MCU versions or like a armor war type of set. Thanks.
WE DESERVE
A.) PINLESS JOINTS
B.) MUCH WIDER SHOULDER TO CHEST MOVEMENT JUST LIKE THE REVOLTECH,
C.) LONGER MOTION FOR NECK,
D.) NOT A STRAIGHT HIP TWIST (Curve the waist for a better look)
ALSO, HOW ABOUT "BLOB" and "THE BUFFED SABRETOOTH FROM 90s" AS A "BUILD A FIGURE"? THAT WILL BE DOPE!!
Are they filling pre-orders?
Like it 😌😊
1:17 * buzzer noise * don't touch the sides
Like the game operation you see
A shame that they've gone to the trouble of creating a new upper torso, but leaving the twin chest ports in the wrong position. Pp someone probably said this already but that is actually the AI armor not the hologram that is the AI armor not the h o l o g r a m
How did you get yours so early looks amazing
I got my 20 Years Iron Man and Cap in the mail today. They've been available for weeks from Canadian retailers.
Dude I haven’t gotten mine yet
@@Mr.Ye2005 Hope you get him soon!
I like how they copied the original packaging, with these and the retro ones, but they should make them be able to be opened without cutting or destroying it
I still see Charles bronson no matter what.
got one and the feet were messed up the joint to make it go up and down was not working so could not stand lucky there is lots at toys r us
I don't know where to buy these, it's been sold out from the second they were released on the websites i use to buy from in France. annoying
A stand with a slot to put a piece of cardboard to display, where I have recently seen that before 🤔 *cough* valaverse *cough*
My 20 year anniversary Iron man's legs have no articulation
You're right that it doesn't look like Tony Stark.
I looks like 70's porno Stark!
Overpriced for what it is. Clearance or skip.
Anyways are you going to review the marvel legends 20th anniversary captain america and doctor strange in the multiverse of madness rintrah wave figures next my guy please tell me?
The hologram armor is not the model 3 it's the model 4 same as the 80 year!!! The model 3 like the model 2 has no waist plates!!!
reminds me of bert Reynolds
where's the intro
the song
Looooks good
Cap next
For me im not gonna use the smoke cause it looks to symbiotic
i hd the same problem with my 2099 retro spider man
Tony Bronson
Now I can customize a Deathwish action figure! 👍
And mafex released same comics Iron man.

I miss toybiz :(
I miss the bonus comics and the 3D figure stands. 🤔
Hi
