We’re living in a multiverse where a Marvel Select figure looks and poses better than the Marvel Legends figure. What a growth for Diamond! Can’t wait for more figures like these. I could only imagine a classic Iron Man with interchangeable chest plate and horned head. Man!..
Man it’s crazy that they did such a good job on this! This probably beats all of the current Caps out there but Hasbro COULD top it if they try!
For anyone that's interested in doing away with the shading on Caps head, you can use Citadel Colors Layer "Teclis Blue" straight outta the jar. Perfect match!
The packaging has become such a nostalgic thing for me. Feels like something in a comic shop in the mid 00s basically because it was lol. I love Diamond and other companies just trying to make definitive versions of characters and packing then with accessories, putting out the absolute best they can with the engineer available at this price point. It always feels like Hasbro cheaps out or half asses releases so they can easily update or repaint the figures in a short amount of time.
Your skills at posing action figures are unmatched. 👌🏻 it's the reason why I purchase some figures lol

I had a lot of blemishes on mine. Took a little bit of nail polish removal to him, and it worked a treat!
Going to look awesome paired with their Mighty Thor, Silver Centurion Iron Man and Immortal Hulk.
Hasbro needs to give us a new first appearance Cap with a new classic Bucky in a 2pk.
Also the star on his chest is nice and big the way it supposed to be. .
I love a ton of things about it, so overall I do want it but with so much stuff coming out and where a lot of us are with our collections, Im just gonna hold off for a while and if I don';t end up with it ah well. That shield though is so awesome and I actually love the black shadow on the mask. Awesome review!

Got mine in the mail. Best Captain America figure ever in my opinion. This is the Cap I grew up with. THIS IS LIKE HE WAS RIPPED RIGHT OUT OF THE COMICS I USED TO READ. I want at least one more so I can have his classic look with his old shield & new look with current shield. Great review!!!! Liked/Subscribed.

Man after all these years Marvel Select still has such a sense of artistry to them which so many figure lines have lost over time, at least to me. Sure there's definite issues in places that hold them back, but they just look so good. I used to collect them a lot back in the day since for whatever reason they were easier for me to find than Marvel Legends were, and I mostly collected NECA figures anyway so they fit in, but as time has gone on and my focus has turned more towards Marvel Legends, I still pick up the occasional Select figure that can fit in.
I just got their Crimson Dynamo last week, had sentimental attachment to the Minimates figure of him they made back in the day which I lost years ago, but that new figure brought all those feelings back and looks great on the Marvel Legends shelf.

I never plan to keep figures unopened but I liked MS Red Hulk so much in the package that I haven't come to the idea of getting him out. Those packages do look good with big characters

Diamond is in a role! He is up there with Hulk, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, Vision, Drax and Gamora.

When I first saw the pics for this I wasn’t sure. But it really is a great figure! It has a lot going for it, especially the shields. The thing that bugs me is the shadowing in the cowl. I wish they wouldn’t do it. But it is really good.
Wow there are some great design choices here. I really like that shield set up. Its simplicity and versatility is commendable. The black on the mask is classic. It’s how I see Cap. Hasbro needs to up their neck articulation game. That does look good. My son loves Cap. I may get this for him.
Great review! I'll definitely be tracking one down at my LCS! If you're digging what DST has been putting out, you should snag their Mister Fantastic and even the rest of the Fantastic Four! Reed and Sue are phenomenal
Definitely prefer maintaining the sculpt and having decent swivel at the top of the thigh. I don’t think it needs much more range than that for most posing. Especially for a cap fig
This is the most definitive captain America ever. All these years I’ve been complaining to hasbro about his missing utility belt . Diamond select got it right.❤❤❤❤also he looks like he’s from EARTHS MIGHTIEST HERO . I like this one so much I had to get another one. Too place with my World War Two marvel and Dc heroes.

I personally prefer the method of thigh swivel they've given this figure. It's got plenty of range and preserves the sculpt. Awesome review, thanks for sharing!

He looks like a great Silver Age Cap. It would be cool if they made a Bucky to go with him. I wish the Blade figure they made last year had this articulation.

Check the shoulders and under the star. There's definitely a scalemail pattern that I can see
its done the way it was drawn in the comics pre 2000's.

The paint job could be better but in overall I loved the accessories, the shields, belts, heads its realy good !
He looks good next to that Phantom
It's surprising to me that most 'critics' haven't noted the smooth knee and elbow joints, resembling those of Mafex or SH Figuarts figures when they fold in on themselves. From an aesthetic standpoint, this feature seems superior to whether the figure has pins or not. Meanwhile, figures from ML or McFarlane often have noticeable cuts, yet this aspect doesn't receive much attention.
I think it’s one of those things and receives attention when it’s bad. I feel you though. That’s a big reason I can’t collect McFarland stuff, the joint cuts are hideous. Hasbro usually handles it pretty well though.
The marvel select Mighty Thor is really good. The one with the spinning hammer! I think he might go well with this Cap

This is the best Captain America figure ever. It would be my favorite but the other MS figures ain't even close to this art style so I can't mix this figure with them. I can't pair him with my Legends though because he's to tall. The problem basically is he's too good😂.
I do not generally get MS figures unless they scale with ML, however this Cap does look amazing and that shield looks like it would fit an ML Cap perfectly. Meanwhile I could leave the MS as a classic WW2 Cap.

It's a nice looking figure. I can hear the drama queen dudes goin off on the loose joints, and whatever else they can think of to be unhappy about, but it's a nice taller cap that would match well with Mcfarlane DC scale if you were to do a Marvel vs DC thing 2024. I just vanilla pose most of my figs anyways, so this is a nice addition to the Select series of Avengers...

Very nice figure all around, great details, but the scale Yeesh! Marvel Select figures are GIGANTIC, so if this Cap is 11” the let’s not even talk about the scale of a Hulk or Juggernaut 😮You need to have a ton of real estate to collect this line.
And what about a full sized Sentinel?😬 It would be the size of a toddler😅

It’s so tempting but I'm on a budget, his legs look a bit strange, and it doesn’t scale with my collection which is important to me. I doubt I’ll be able to resist if I see him in a store though. Oh who am I kidding I'm already brainstorming solutions for the legs and I don’t even have it, I’ll just buy it already lol
I do personally love Captain America because he is never afraid and shows his patriotism despite Red Skull or Hydra lurking in the shadows trying to take over, However, I still think Steve looks cool especially the head sculpts and with his 2 shields, I don't collect Select figures but great review.
Its so upsetting that they gotta be just 1 inch up in scale 😭 It doesn't make a difference for big guys like Hulk or Juggernaut but figures like Cap will always be out of scale with marvel legends
To me it’s between this and the recently announced mezco classic cap. I FUCKING LOVE the mezco aesthetic but i will admit. Idk if i wanna wait till sept-oct AND drop like $123.00 on it. There are a lot of great things about this figure, but, to me, the proportions are just too far removed from my kinds eye of Captain America. Not only are his legs kind of long, but his torso area seems too tubular and thin, so he overall just looks kind of lanky to me, and I always imagine Captain America as one step removed from a Schwarzenegger body builder.

Yes, it's the exact same size as the 20th, so I swapped shields with the Diamond & it clips on his wrist nicely. 20th didn't come with a gripping hand, but luckily, I had one in red from another figure & it holds the strap perfectly.
Honestly, the accesories (heads,shields, straps and belts) are doing all the heavy lifting, cause the figure itself is not that good.
Not gona talk about the huge chip in the middle of his mask??!!😂😂😂

Zeck also created the original black symbiote suit for Spidey, his art is awesome.

Hasbro make such trash bag dumpster fire toys compared to this... My goodness. A hero fig that actually looks heroic. Hasbro have those nasty boxed out joints and frumpy dumpy bodies that look almost like cosplayers. This makes me want to collect Marvel again.
