One of my favorite vacations was a train trip to Amish country in Pennsylvania, and we stayed at a cute hotel right in the middle of theirs farms. Oh my! I stitched that same wedding sampler for a friend some 20 years ago! Had it beautifully framed, double mat, velvet, the works...She was married all of 18 months! 😢 It's a beautiful piece and I might just have to stitch it again for myself! LOL. Thank you for sharing your cross stitch. I thought I was the only one stitching As Told In The Garden patterns. I am currently stitching Grandfathers Barn. In fact I was stitching when I found your channel. I started Grandfathers Barn 35+ years ago and put it away soon after when I started working nights. I now retired, got it out and determined to finish. I have stitched the auction, quilting bee, quilters home (lost but plan on restitching). I have collected most of her Amish quilting patterns. How excited I was to see your enthusiasm over this designer. I will say she is very detailed that makes the back very messy.
I pretty much cut my cross stitching teeth on Lavender and Lace, Butternut Road and Told in a Garden some nearly 40 years ago and it's so pleasantly nostalgic to see your projects. There are so many "smalls" being worked now and I adore large and full coverage pieces - one does not need to kit so often! Thanks for returning to visit with us.

I love the Told in the Garden Amish patterns that you shared. I too, love the Amish and their peaceful way of life. I read a lot of Amish fiction. Lancaster County PA which is only about an hour from me has many Amish communities. I love just driving through the countryside watching them work in their fields etc. My dad told me one time he saw a barn raising and pulled over and just watched for a while! We were also in Maine (once upon a time) in July - we stayed at a friend's house in Cundy's Harbor - not far from where you describe. It was very cold in the mornings but warmed up. I say mornings, cuz I loved going out with my coffee and watching the lobster boats come into the cove & check their traps, it was awesome - but I'm an early riser any how. Then later we'd walk down where they would rubber band the claws. So happy you get to go!! I'm chuckling about personalizing your stitching - I do too, as far as adding names. So happy you’re back! I’m fairly new to cross stitch and really enjoy seeing all your projects and learning from you. I don’t have any cross stitch shops nearby & rely on big box stores or the internet for supplies. I really love hearing your advice about dying fabric and also that you use Aida, Monaco fabrics and DMC threads and that you are not a snob when it comes to cross stitching! So many floss tube videos show the expensive linens which are beautiful but make me feel as though my projects are not up to snuff lol. Would love to see a video of how you dye fabrics and also how you decide to use one thread over two or one vs two over two! Thanks for all you do, you’re so inspiring.

I loved watching you in the early days. Your Prairie Schooler pieces. I am a Santa collector also. I have done alot of Amish pieces.

One of my favorite vacations was a train trip to Amish country in Pennsylvania, and we stayed at a cute hotel right in the middle of theirs farms. This was my first exposure to quilting and it opened a new world 🌎. Enjoy a bit of each day creatively.

Oh my! I stitched that same wedding sampler for a friend some 20 years ago! Had it beautifully framed, double mat, velvet, the works...She was married all of 18 months! 😢 It's a beautiful piece and I might just have to stitch it again for myself! LOL. On a different note, just wanted to say 'thank you!' for all of the tutorial help you give!
I have just recently started following you, I was a cross-stitcher in my younger days. My last finished project was about 10 years ago, and life and learning other hobbies etc. but recently I’ve returned to stitching, I’ve been on flosstube I have heard other floss tubers references you and I watched a finishing video of yours, I think you’re adorable!! Thank you for sharing your cross stitch. I thought I was the only one stitching As Told In The Garden patterns. I am currently stitching Grandfathers Barn. In fact I was stitching when I found your channel. I started Grandfathers Barn 35+ years ago and put it away soon after when I started working nights. I now retired, got it out and determined to finish. I have stitched the auction, quilting bee, quilters home (lost but plan on restitching). I have collected most of her Amish quilting patterns. How excited I was to see your enthusiasm over this designer. I will say she is very detailed that makes the back very messy.
I pretty much cut my cross stitching teeth on Lavender and Lace, Butternut Road and Told in a Garden some nearly 40 years ago and it's so pleasantly nostalgic to see your projects. There are so many "smalls" being worked now and I adore large and full coverage pieces - one does not need to kit so often! Thanks for returning to visit with us.

I love the Told in the Garden Amish patterns that you shared. I too, love the Amish and their peaceful way of life. I read a lot of Amish fiction. Lancaster County PA which is only about an hour from me has many Amish communities. I love just driving through the countryside watching them work in their fields etc. My dad told me one time he saw a barn raising and pulled over and just watched for a while! I just looked at her Amish patterns and many are going on my wish list! Thanks for sharing! Jacquie

We were also in Maine (once upon a time) in July - we stayed at a friend's house in Cundy's Harbor - not far from where you describe. It was very cold in the mornings but warmed up. I say mornings, cuz I loved going out with my coffee and watching the lobster boats come into the cove & check their traps, it was awesome - but I'm an early riser any how. Then later we'd walk down where they would rubber band the claws. So happy you get to go!! I'm chuckling about personalizing your stitching - I do too, as far as adding names. So happy you’re back! I’m fairly new to cross stitch and really enjoy seeing all your projects and learning from you. I don’t have any cross stitch shops nearby
& rely on big box stores or the internet for supplies. I really love hearing your advice about dying fabric and also that you use Aida, Monaco fabrics and DMC threads and that you are not a snob when it comes to cross stitching! So many floss tube videos show the expensive linens which are beautiful but make me feel as though my projects are not up to snuff lol. Would love to see a video of how you dye fabrics and also how you decide to use one thread over two or one vs two over two! Thanks for all you do, you’re so inspiring.

Such a treat when I saw your video. As always your pieces are wonderful. I stopped doing large things several years ago. I have limited walls now. Been stitching since 1975. My rule is 150 by 150. I loved watching you in the early days. Your Prairie Schooler pieces. I am a Santa collector also. I have done alot of Amish pieces.
