I am very thankful your husband encouraged you to make a video! I have missed seeing your beautiful face and the work that you do! Your Santa is amazing! Your stitching is beautiful and you have so much to be proud of! Hope you take care of yourself but get to stitching for your pleasure! Life is too short! Enjoy it! Loved all your ornaments! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and Happy New Year to you and your family! Love ❤️ you and your videos! Are you going to be a Grandma in the near future, if so how exciting!!!!!
The Woodland Santa is amazing! I think the stitching is beautiful! I could only dream to stitch as beautiful,as you!
Yay! Yay! Yay! Vonna is back❤ Happy dance💃 🎉 You are an amazing, talented, generous and caring person who has given so much to all of us!! Whenever I feel stuck on what to do in finishing a project you are the one I turn to. I can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful tutorials you have provided to us. You have saved me over and over!!! I absolutely LOVE all of your Santas. I am a lover of Santas also, and hope to stitch up many many more. I turned 70 this past fall and I too, am evaluating my life. There are a limited number of days given to us, and we owe it to ourselves to do those things that fill us with happiness and satisfaction. I wish you much joy in 2024, and please thank your wonderful husband for nudging you to make a video.
So glad to see your video pop up! If misery really does like company, I’ll share that I worked in a needlework shop for past 6 years. 95% of the customers were sweet, dear, inspiring souls, but… the other 5% were high maintenance at best, or rude, unkind , pushy, people. I’ve cross stitched since I was 9-10 years old but letting the 5% dictate my mood made something I loved so much become like work to me! Since I’ve somewhat retired and only work at the shop for special events or a vacation/ emergency, I enjoy my cross stitching again! It makes me feel like my self again. I feel more like me! My hope for you when you step back from doing sooo much finishing, that your own personal stitching won’t be a burden or a chore to you, too! I do enjoy your videos and tutorials so much! You have been by my side through about a dozen shepherds bush stockings! Thank you! Sorry for all the ramblings but thought if you heard my testimony about overcoming burnout, maybe you’d see a little light at the end of the tunnel! And know it’s not a train headed straight for you!
Dear Vonna, We are kindred spirits...lol...I too am a Santa Collector. Love all of your collection. I too have a large one and of course it gives me great pleasure knowing that I have these treasures. Thanks again for sharing.
Woodland Santa is gorgeous. So glad to see you. Have missed you.
The Santa of the forest is amazing! Gorgeous!
Well you are not alone. With Christmas I have been concentrating on that. After Christmas and my family is gone then our comes my stitching. I just did what I had to do to finish Christmas gifts. He is amazing
Your stitching is amazing
You are like me I'm that regard I disect and critique everything I make.
Thank you for the gift of this video! I have missed you. I agree about Marilyn Leavitt Inblum.
The wedding looked very enchanting. How they have all grown up. :)
Vonna the Santa is perfection. You do beautiful work
It’s wonderful to be able to see you and your stitching! I also love hearing the snippets about your life! Please continue allowing us to share with you and to express our admiration for your work….
WOW!!! Your Santa is gorgeous. I to have long loved this pattern, as well as the Woodland Santa.
Ohhhhh my GOD Vonna! I Needed this video So Much. Thank you Thank you THANK YOU!!!! You are so very beautiful. Your family looks so very nice and lovely and happy. Thank you Thank you for making this. This has really helped my heart, mind, and soul. My grandbaby died this past summer and it has been so hard. I finally paid an attorney to divorce my third abusive husband this August who kept our son from me for 2 years grabbing him off my porch the day before my dad's funeral in 2021. My mother passed in 2015 while i was in college and thankfully i had some left over money from student loans to help with her cremation expenses. Ohh I've gone through So much. This video and others like it help me get through my night shift janitorial work at a large restaurant. Thank you so 💓 so much Vonna. You are amazing and I know that is in great part due to the fact that you have such a supportive loving husband. God bless you both. And congratulations on your decision to "Be nice to Vonna" and your changes that are coming up! How exciting!🎉 😉 God bless 🙌 you!!!
What a blessing to see your video pop up on my screen a couple of weeks ago. Since that day, I’ve waited ever so patiently so I could watch you uninterrupted, and, truly savor each moment! 💞 Boy have I missed you lady!
I was not disappointed. 🤗
As always, your video was totally enjoyable, inspirational and full of great ideas and information. Your Santa piece is amazing! Loved all the ornaments and finishes. I can’t wait to start finishing some of my own. It is so sweet to see what you made for your children. 🥰 Such superb memories!
I hope to see you on Floss-tube again soon, but, in the meantime, please be good to yourself and do what you love dear lady. 🕊😇 Jacque🐑
Stitch for yourself and only you. It took me 15 years to learn that. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hardest thing to learn is that little two letter word…NO. We’re too worried about hurting feelings. Set a limit and stick to it. You have given us some fantastic tutorials so people just need to use them. Your Santa is so beautiful. Merry Christmas.
I have the opposite problem . I almost always say no to people because I'm afraid I will mess up whatever I'm being asking to do .
All the Lavender and Lace patterns are so beautiful. Your Woodland Santa is absolutely STUNNING! Please know that your loyal subscribers are cheering you on to finish this fabulous piece.
Hello lovely lady, I've been struggling through this month mostly because I'm caregiving a 96 year old who is miserable and bent on making her 4 caregivers miserable too. I spent Monday in tears, so decided to get stitching on my little Christmas poinsettia while watching flosstube. My carpal tunnel is also on fire in my dominant right hand. Love to you and yours❤
BEST CHRISTMAS SURPRISE EVER!!!!! You have been so greatly missed. Thank you so much for sharing all your beautiful stitching and fabulous finishes. Merry Christmas. May your home be filled to overflowing with much happiness, good health and love 🎄🎅🎶❤️🙏
I look forward to seeing more of your awesome stitching!
I had to put my stitching for a few months. Couldn't stand the thought of picking it up. Finally the other day, I picked it up and all is great now!
Your Santa of the Forest is just beautiful!! I haven't the patience for the larger patterns like that, BUT that one I could see myself starting and taking 10+ years to finish!!
We have a pair of bald eagles that we think has a nest across the street from where I work. There is a huge pond right behind our break area and there is all of us out there with our phones trying to get the best picture of one when the swoop down after a fish. And then an otter showed up out of nowhere in the pond. Scared the crap out me when I first saw him. I thought it was the loch ness monster!! LOLOL
I always love seeing your ornaments. I would be proud of even the earlier ones, just shows how far you have come. And I think they are ALL wonderful finishes!
Take care my friend, Ruth.
Your Santa is amazing. I loved seeing all of your ornaments. Your finishing is - WOW! I love your visits. Please come back soon.
Thanks Vonna! I really enjoy your FlossTubes and all you do! I hope you can get your stitching passion back! 🤗
Thank you dear Vonna, sending you and your Family warmest wishes from New Zealand. You don’t know how much you have helped me .
Thank you for another wonderful flosstube...😊❤❤❤
You made me giggle; I love your saying "Christmas is my jam and Santa is my man' Fantastic! Love it! You are Awesome to visit with!!!
So glad to see you back. You have been so missed!
So glad to see your video. I always enjoy seeing your creativity and beautiful stitching
Hi Vonna. I just had a shock watching your video. The five Santas work given to you by your friend is from Leisure Arts, Leaflet 743, by Marilyn Gandre, published in 1989 and called "Christmas Gentlemen. I started it back then and I finished it TODAY!!!!! I'm going to make it into a flat fold using your video instructions. Happy coincidence! Merry Christmas!
Hi Vonna, oh my goodness, you are so talented. Thank you for sharing your talent with us wannabe Vonna's.
Vonna, I so admire your talent for finishing. Your videos have been very inspiring for me. I am quite the novice but when I consider figuring out how to do something, you are the first person I think of to show me the way. And I know the ladies in my cross stitch guild feel the same way. Even though we haven't met, I feel like you are my friend. So friend, take time for yourself. Self-care is very important and it looks like your life has been full of many big events that were wonderful but exhausting. I will look forward to seeing your lovely face when the time is right for you to make a new video. God bless you!
So glad to see your beautiful face again. I always come away feeling better after one of your videos. Thank you
Welcome back. I've missed seeing your videos. I'm 75 and didn't start doing cross stitch until August 2022. So your videos have been so very helpful to me. Thank you!
That Santa is already beautiful!❤️
Hi Vonna! You are positively glowing in this video and I can definitely see the effects of the chemical peels you have had. You look even more beautiful than you normally do. Woodland Santa is so gorgeous. Losing your stitchy bug is a hard time. I had a hard time with mine in November for two different periods of 5-6 days each where I had no desire to pick up the needle at all. Your stitching looks beautiful to me and we are our own worst critics. I can tell from the number of comments you have received on this video already and the number of views that you have been missed so much in the community and this particular media despite all your posts on IG. You are such an inspiration to so many people. Learning how to say no and not be taken for granted by other people are some of the hardest things we can ever do and it is too bad that it usually takes until we are older in life to learn those lessons. What a beautifully unique way to repurpose Christmas cards. I am turning mine into floss drops. In 2024 I plan to start 2 new kits per month. I have a crap ton of kits I have purchased over the years because I loved them but have not stitched them because they are not started (I don't like starting projects). Once they are a WIP though I have no problem pulling them out to stitch on them. I will have more kits left to start which might happen if a prompt for my challenge group fits an unstarted kit. The other thing I want to do is go through all my patterns and see if they still speak to me and, if not, thin the pattern stash. I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas and that 2024 is the year of doing what is right for you and your family. Dawn in Texas
This video combined my two favourite things…Vonna and ornaments. Thank you. May blessings be yours through Christmas and 2024.
Have missed you so much! Sometimes we have to step back and take a look at where we have been and where we are going. So glad you are making changes for yourself! I do hope you cross stitch soon and come back to show us!!! ❤
Oh Dear Vonna, I was so glad to see your video this evening! I was commenting to someone just earlier today that I was looking forward to seeing that Santa of the Forest and if you made it a Christmas finish. Either way, your work on it is inspiring me to start mine, I have had that chart since it was published, and I need to not waste any more time on that project. I am happy to know you are dialing back on the finishing work, you can rest assured that you have planted numerous seeds in that garden and more people than ever can feel empowered to create their own treasures thanks to your generosity! So many times I am watching a flosstube and the stitcher will say, "so I went and watched Vonna's tutorial....". When you give things away, you really do get more in return. Take care of yourself and we will see you when we see you and be grateful for what you share!
Many blessings to you as you start new chapters in your life. Enjoy seeing you and your beautiful stitching!
Santa is my man also! I just love him and what he represents. Congratulations on the things that will be coming in 2024 for you and your family 😉
Oh Vonna, I am smiling at your secret keeping for 2024, as I think I have figured out the secret! Happy stitching and thank you for this fun Flosstube. ❤️🧵🪡🇨🇦
🦋 Hi Vonna, Thankyou for sharing another of your unique videos. I am happy to hear that you are going to take care of yourself in 2024. Any qualms you may have about saying “No” to various things that are asked of you should be laid at the foot of the cross in my view. This will prepare and release yourself ~ to have the peace of mind to do that which you are truly called upon to do. You deserve to spend some time beside the still waters. I wish you and your family a Blessed Christmas. Love from Mary 🌹xx:):)
Nice seeing you again.🥰 The the pictures at the end of your video. You are blessed with a wonderful family.😊
Gorgeous Santa!!❤
😮OMG it's you Vonna. Great to see you. Thank you
Yay!!! It is sooo nice to see you Vonna :) I’m so glad your hubby encouraged you to pop in and give an update.
Vonna your work is gorgeous. Setting boundaries is extremely hard and important to do. Do what is best for you! 😊 I love your videos and tutorials.
So glad to see you doing a video and showing your beautiful stitching. All work and no play makes for a dull day you need to make time for your self friend. I always love all you That show. Have a Merry Christmas and New Year,
500+ finishes is absolutely incredible! No wonder you hurt and are burned out. I pray that having boundaries and semi-retiring will allow you the chance to fill your cup. Thank you for all your tutorials. I've only been stitching for 5 years, but most of the finishing I learned from you. I'm amazed by your generosity and all you give to this community. I find the more I love a piece the more critical I am of my stitching. I want it to be perfect. My daughter is a biology education major and she LOVES birds of prey! We would be distracted right along with you.
I am so glad your husband encouraged you to make a video. I love your Christmas card ornaments. You are so creative. Please keep your videos coming. Have really missed you.
OMG! Your Santa is gorgeous!
It's good to see you again. You always inspire me. I read your blog years ago. And was thrilled to watch your videos. I loved your Prairie Schooler pieces you use to show. I am Santa person also. I dont do the fancy ones like you. All my 350 framed pieces are out year around. I done alot of Prairie Schooler little house needlework country cottage needlework and Brenda Gervais. I stitch Christmas and Patriotic pieces. You got me hooked on Joanie. I have several pieces of hers. Again I wish you luck in the coming year.
It's great to see you Vonna. Welcome back.
What a delightful way to spend some time this afternoon watching your beautiful smiling face as you share not only your stitching but your life with us. I loved seeing all of your ornaments and the Prairie Schooler Santas reminded me of all the ones my Mom stitched for me. I can't see well enough to stitch them on 18ct Davos but I am going to get the Merry Mini Santas and stitch them for my grandson and his family. I did a set of very old ones that my Mom had stitched for me years ago (various tiny mice and penguins) and they were delighted with them so mini Santas' I was also reminded I had bought a set of the pens you use for your tags that I need to start using for the backs of the ones I stitch for others. I started the new 12 Days of Christmas by Pigeon Coop Designs to give us gifts. And I got his squirrel to add to my 2024 stitching. Lastly, I am glad that you are making more time for yourself and what makes you happy. Merry Christmas, Vonna.
I am always so happy when I see one of you videos pop up. It's been a long time. Your skin is glowing!!! The treatments did wonders. You have always been lovely because I believe that beauty comes from within, but I just had to comment. I appreciate you Vonna!
You inspire me more any anyone in the stitching world. I refer to your videos ALL the time - THANK YOU! I loved this UA-cam. Enjoy your semi-retired New Year. I completely retired after 27 years in education/administration and wend back to teaching 2years ago. I am again going to leave this year to pay attention to me and my family. All the love & best wishes for an awesome 2024.
Thank you so much for all of your videos and tutorials. You are inspiring and such a helpful sweet lady. Enjoy your semi retirement and take some time for yourself. Would love to see you teaching at some retreats! Please keep the flosstubes coming even if you cut back on the finjshing business. We miss you when you're not around. 💕
Vonna, It's so good to see you here. I love your videos. I"m sorry you are so hard on yourself..we are so much harder on ourselves than others aren't we? I think even you have said this about stitching..just enjoy the journey. I hope that if you are scaling back your finishing business that you will continue to give us tutorials on how to finish. You are THE best source for finishing. I'm so appreciative of all you've offered us. You've taught me so much. I always go back and watch these tutorials. I hope that you'll never take them down. I look forward to more tutorials from you so I can finish my own projects. I hope that you take some time to care for yourself and i'm looking forward to what you do in 2024 and hopefully we'll get to see you here on youtube often. I love love love your videos.
So happy to finally see/meet you. And very glad you are making positive changes for YOU!!!
That Santa is gorgeous!
Wonderful to see you again. We all need a break even from the things we love. Take care of yourself.
It’s SO good to see your beautiful, happy face! Thank you for posting a video 🤗🙏🏼
Thank yiu for sharing yourbtalents with us. Beautiful ornaments, I love your kitted Santa collection
So glad to see your video!! I have missed seeing all your beautiful stitching!! We all have to learn to strike a balance sometimes with life and stitching 😊.
Vonna I so enjoyed your showcase of ornaments and Santas and all you hope to do next year.
Love your heart and openess.
Scarlett
The Santa piece is gorgeous! I would never attempt such a big and complex piece. Whenever it is finished, it is an heirloom piece.
Theres no one like you Vonna, you are the best!
I have missed you. You are an amazingly talented person. Your work is superb. I have learned so much from your tutorials. May 2024 be an amazing year for you and your family.
Vonna, thanks for making a video! I haven't stitched in awhile and I hope this will motivate me to get back to stitching. Your Santa is stunning and so lifelike. Your nails are so pretty.
Thank you for sharing all the beautiful things you create.
I am sew happy to see all your beautiful stitches, many thanks to your hubby for encouraging you to do a video. I’ve been stitches for over 40 years with breaks but I love all your finishes I plan to try all your finishing tutorials, this year I’ve mastered your Snowglobe finish. Thank you for being you and all that you share and do Merry Christmas Vonna
Oh, and can we say how beautiful your skin looks! Just radiant
I would love to see you write a book about your finishing techniques...would be amazing! Love you Santa he is so beautiful.
You are a beautiful person and I am glad I found your channel ❤
I really enjoyed watching this video. I loved that you showed all your ornaments.
Your Santa stitch is amazing! I think your Stitchy bug will come back soon. You were so enthusiastic and excited during your video just talking about cross stitch. I’ve lost my Stitchy bug too over the last month but I know what the cause of mine is. You referred to it at the end of your video, the Holidays are the worst time of year for me because I’ve lost all my extended family, a lot of them around the holidays. A lot of my deceased family had birthdays and anniversaries around this time as well. I’m trying to intentionally put a few stitches in each day waiting until it comes back. Thank you for sharing all of your finishing knowledge with us! Your tutorials are my go-tos when I need to finish something new. I hope you and your family have the happiest of holidays during this season! Happy stitching!
Good to see you and I love the video!! Your stitching is absolutely beautiful and the finishing too. Beautiful kits you have to do because of your love for Santa’s and you should. Take your time to enjoy your talents the Lord has blessed you with sweet lady. Also tell your hubby thank you for getting you to do a video!! Sweet lady you provided so many videos to all to learn how to do it, it is your time now!!! Looking forward to the next video on your time, love love your beautiful pieces! Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family ❤️🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Vonna, you are so gifted. Was missing your videos. Take care of yourself and enjoy your free time!!
Really enjoyed all of the ornaments.....thanks for sharing so much over the years! I love that your plans for 2024 are going to be more Vonna and family centered.....you never get this time back.....and I clearly can not be the only one that picked up on the little hint during the video of some of the plans for next year. Thank you so much for sharing your dear family adventures with us..I love that you guys all enjoy your new deck no matter the weather. I live in a cold climate as well.....and I cannot resist outside time. Take care. Happy 2024!
I wish I had known you were traveling and in Montrose. I'm only an hour away. I would have loved to come meet you. You are one of my favorite teachers. 😊
Thanks for coming back. Congratulations on your life changes❤
So happy to see you back. I always enjoy watching your flosstubes and see what you are doing. Best wishes in your semi-retirement. I saw you will be having a grand baby and there is nothing better. You picked the perfect time to semi-retire. Best wishes and hope to see you soon.
Miss Vonna, I was so excited to see your Santa update! It is a stunning piece, and I agree with you about Marilyn's talent for design and color. (I did her "Quiltmaker" in 2000. I still marvel at its beauty, and it remains a treasured piece displayed on my dining room wall). I started this piece about 6 weeks ago. I've had the pattern since the 90's... My husband finally convinced me to get started with it. He loves it! My goal is to work exclusively on this piece until I complete it. I retired this past March, so I think of this as my retirement project. I have thoroughly enjoyed stitching my Santa. My prayer for you is that you can work past the destructive thoughts of perfectionism and "it's not good enough." Your work is stunning. Simply stunning!❤ I love your videos! Merry Christmas! 🎅 🎄 😘
Hi Vonna! Great stitching, finishes and life photos. Thank u for sharing! I want u to know i have recently completed 2 FFOs that are my first ever & i have u to thank! You are a great teacher. I shared the finished photos in a stitch fb group & i made sure to "give credit where credit is due" to YOU. Thanks again!
Had to pause & come back. Gorgeous Tag Ornament. Your Twins ornaments have held up, love the wee tassels. Wonderful Finishes. Love all of your tutorials, so generous of You to share them with us over the years. I stitched mainly from my stash this year, it's been Great, I still shopped a bit. I'd also switch that kit to an evenweave, and use a thread conditioner or wax if you decide to use the kit floss. Ladybug is very pretty for E. Would love to see the Bald Eagle. WDW Onyx is pretty. Wow, Earthdancer will look fabulous on that fabric. CO is a very beautiful state, I enjoyed following you guys through the West. Montrose is in the Uncompahgre Valley, just an FYI it's pronounced Mon-Trose (tr oh seh). 😉
Yay!! Always love to see you. I miss you being on FiberTalk...it was always a pleasure to listen to you. You have such interesting and detailed things to say, and every time I listen to you makes me a better stitcher.
Thank you for reminding all of us about your blog!! Such a valuable resource. Thank you.
I am so happy to see you had posted a flosstube. Your stitching is so beautiful. Be kind to yourself and let some things go. 2024 is going to be a great year for you. (if I have guessed correctly). Your life will never be the same. Big hugs and much love during the season of our Savior's Birth.
Hi Vonna, Nice wedding photos and St Augustine too. Congratulations to your family on gaining a daughter, wife and sister. She looks very nice. The girl with the snowman by dementions looks very nice. Have fun stitching her. TTFN
I knew I knew that lighthouse! I was thinking it looks like the one around Virginia Beach.
So happy to see you back. I get in slumps too! Love all your stitching and finishing!
Was wonderful to see you again. Your Woodland Santa is beautiful and I know you will get it completed, but just take your time, 10 stitches is 10 closer to completion. So glad to hear you are cutting back as your hands and wrists are important in stitching. May you and yours have a very happy, healthy holiday season.
Vonna, you are amazing, Thank you for all you tutorials and contribution in a major way to all of us cross stitchers. I love your creativity and beautiful ornaments and creating the snow globes. I have also stitch the Santa and will be stitching the reindeer. I also collected all the magazines from Cross Stitch and Country Craft.
I think the black color you could use for Joseph's initial would be an Anchor Thread. I have had great success with that thread. Thanks for sharing yourself with me. I love your enthusiasm for this create hobby.
So happy to see you back.. Have missed your talks, and sharing. And crossing my fingers your mind gets past this!! 🙏🙏
OMG, that Santa is stunning!
So lovely to see you again Vonna! Your stitching is beautiful as always. Wishing you and all your family a Blessed Christmas 🎄🎅♥️
So happy you returned to make a video-you’re missed when we don’t see you! Sounds like an exciting 2024 is in store for you!🐣🧸🍼👶
Vonna Santa is amazing I cannot wait to see it finished when you are ready!
A wonderful flosstube and your Santa is beautiful! Those colors are gorgeous. One of my favorite designers back in the day was Carol Emmer..I thought she had an eye for colors, smooth, realistic designs. I have always wanted to stitch the wedding design but just haven't done it. I might just do it for our anniversary? I saw it at the Needle and I in Rockford when we lived there, and it was just gorgeous. You inspire so many stitchers and I'm so thankful for you and your wonderful videos and tutorials. Glad you're taking time for yourself though. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!🎄💕
Thank you Vonna, it was lovely to see you. Please take care and enjoy your family this holiday season.
Vonna, PLEASE read all these comments from stitchers who admire your work and miss your presence on UA-cam. You are loved and embraced!
Vonna, this is the BEST way to start 2024, spending an hour listening to your enthusiasm and sharing your work! As others have said, you've been missed and are so loved and admired. Wishing you peace, good health and happiness in the new year and lots of time for yourself. Looking forward to seeing your next video. ❤❤❤
