My brother was on foot running through a trail and caught a peice of barbed wire stretched in a similar manner at his neck and at the hospital they said 1 cm more and he wouldn't have made made it home let alone to the ER. The terror on my mother's face when my brother removed his hand from his neck to show her what was was wrong I can't even explain. I cant even imagine if he was on a motorcycle!
Yesn't. If it's private property it's the bikers fault to even drive there - meaning the bikers are the only ones doing something illegal here. But again, that's only if it's private property.
A woman from my home town when she was a little girl maybe 5-6 years old was riding on the back of a snow machine and her dad was decapitated by one of these, she had to find her way home in the winter by herself... sickening, I can’t imagine what that poor child felt
Same . And the amount of people defending the people putting up cables is insane! Im hearing stories of kids dying ! I even saw one about a child watching her dad be decapitated . I’m so disappointed in humans.
A phyco lady did that on some of our local mountain bike trails. She had a variety of different traps set on the trails. She kept doing it so cameras were put up and she got caught. She said she was just trying to slow people down. That is an extremely stupid and nasty thing to do. She had three charges against her but plead guilty to “mischief rendering property dangerous “. She got 3 years probation and 150 community service hours.
If it's on an obviously public trail especially. If you're *trespassing*, AND you pass someone's fenceline or signs indicading such? If you get yourself clotheslined at that point, well... that is on you. Last time I lived out in the middle of nowhere, I did like to hand my no-trespassing signs on ropes like that. Very visible. you *will* see it. But it also sends a message.
Even in Texas, it is ILLEGAL to have booby traps on your private property. So this property owner has some serious explaining to do in front of a judge.
@@DeezNuts-yg8zy well if it was on my property and i wasnt using that private road that day what harm could it possibly do to putup my clothes...no one would illegally come on to private property right. @@MasterDonut2k37jeez man. Is this the type of attitude you've got towards "trespassers"? How about putting up a sign instead so at least they know where the hell they are. Some properties are connected to government land via dirt roads and can be easily mistaken. No need to get all Chainsaw Massacre on these guys.
The plot twist may be that it’s not the property owner putting up the lines. If this is privately managed land, the forest owner probably gets some degree of funding from local ATV/bike/SxS riding groups and local campgrounds to maintain the trails. Often times, it’s upset neighbors who sneak down the trails to put up these cables, whether due to engine noise at later hours than they deem acceptable or from drunk riders littering on roads and trails. If the property owner isn’t able to survey their trails daily, they may very well not be aware that someone is trespassing on their land and putting their guests in harm’s way.
My dad was always talking about a crazy man livin close to the woods. In the winter when he was getting wood and he was hearing vechicles in the woods he heard screaming and 2 heads flying his way. He called the police and ran to where the heads came from. The guys was partying yelling "no more noise!" he was sentenced for life.
My friend had this happen to him twice thankfully he wasn't going too fast the first time so it just gave him a real bad cut. His mom ended up making him a thick leather neckband after the first altercation and when the second one happened, the only reason he had his head was because of that neckband
My neighbors made a cable fence, it was too high. Their son came home for a visit and he didn't know it was installed. He ran his bike threw it like he always did but was unaware that this new cable was installed. They decapitated their own son by mistake. He was on military leave and wanted to surprise them. 😢 It makes me sad to know he had so much life left in front of him.
That is very sad ro hear but honestly the karma they deserved. It could have been someone else's son. God, might could have been someone's father too (my father did that in his mid thirties until he felt that his body was aging faster than his soul) and I know I would have been destroyed if he would have been a victim to this kind of trap. I hope your neighbours never installed one after knowing the pain
Preventing trespassing is building a barricade, or fence around your house. Not attaching a 35 pound steel wire to a tree at neck height. It crazy how y’all are trying to justify this by “trespassing,” when this almost certainly is a trail.

The reason these people put up traps like this is because they’ve already tried the things you mentioned and disrespectful bikers just cut their fences/damage their property and trespass anyways. Stay off land that doesn’t belong to you and you don’t have to worry about it.
The thing is, in their fcked up mind, they are justified killing somebody because, idk, they're making too much noise with their bikes or whatever. People who think like this are of course psychopaths.

Yea, some kid who was a year older then me used to ride his bike across peoples yards to make his trip to school faster or whatever. Some couple didn’t like it, so they set up these thin wires around their property and the kid rode right into it. He survived but has a huge scar on his neck from it.

One morning we went out and found a steel cable between to trees and a teenager laying on the ground and his ATV about 20 feet ahead. Another very common trap is where they’ll put a board on the ground and either put tons of small nails and/or screws to pop the bikes tired or cause the rider to fall, or, the more dangerous version, ginormous spikes or roofing nails that can kill someone. Some people are even crazy enough to do some home alone type crap and make a gun system but those are alot more rare, probably because it’s easier to trace and louder and harder to do. @@bradensorensen966 What other logical explanation actually makes sense for a metal wire to be placed at right about neck height for someone on a dirt bike?
We can deduct from the video that the trail is used by bikers, so regardless of the area being private property or not we can assume someone wanted to do some kinda of harm to the east riding the trail. Colliding with a metal wire at a speed as fast as the guys in the video would most likely cause either full on decapitation or some form of a broken neck, spinal cord damage, severe blunt force trauma to the head after the biker is knocked off his bike, or some combination of the three.
Saying that the video isn't capturing a trap is you being extremely intellectually dishonest when it is painfully obvious to the vast majority of people that that wire was placed on that trail in the hopes of causing severe damage to any bike riders that used that trail.

Bike traps are absolutely insane. Some people really are just sadistic idiots. What’s the point? They’re illegal too. There are also tons of different kinds. The cable at head or neck level being the most common but they also put them at handlebar or mid-wheel level in order to make the bike go crazy and minimum severely injure the rider. This is also done with fishing line to make it less visible. Then there are the people that’ll just shoot. Please check the trail you’re riding before you ride. It’s sad but it’s a real, common and horrific issue that takes hundreds of life’s and almost never receive justice because the culprits are almost never caught

a very strangely high number of people think booby traps should be legal, and frankly that scares me a lot…
edit: some of y’all are very unhinged. booby traps are bad for the same reason land mines are bad, they maim indiscriminately. the only time lethal force should be warranted is if your life is in legitimate danger, and no that does not mean trespassing…
edit 2: i hope to own land in the future, but i wouldn’t kill or maim anyone for coming onto it if they did. as long as they don’t try to kill me or take my property i could not care any less. i know i’m on an extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to my opinions on property, but i don’t think it’s crazy to NOT want to hurt people. i totally get why you wouldn’t want people on your property too, but why would you want to hurt another person for simply entering your property? even if they tore up some grass, or something like that, i still don’t understand. who cares, it’s not like that shit was gonna last forever… WHY SET UP BOOBY TRAPS WHEN YOU CAN JUST BUY A LOCK, PEOPLE’S LIVES ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN MY PROPERTY!
Are you going places you shouldn’t? Yes or no, if your not then why does it matter. If you break into someone’s property that is owed by them it’s their land. Don’t break the law and you will be fine

you can tell society is in a great place when people are defending decapitating innocent people for the crime of being somewhere that an imaginary line on a map says they can't be
People paid good money to be able to claim everything inside those lines as theirs. You trespass on private property, you forfeit your right to live and that’s how it should be. Stay off other people’s stuff. It’s that simple.
@@Alexander_choi good thing the mentally disabled aren't allowed to create laws.

@@stretchymane"walk or ride extremely slow" pay attention kid
Actually with these trails there is a minimum speed. And you don't know how fast this was set up.
Another suggestion, stay off of private property as well. Signs should be posted, but double check. I’d never leave a line like that, but I’d spike trails on my land.
That guy has insane reflexes and sight to avoid that. Stay safe out there guys.
There's a special place in hell for people like this.

Same for people who go riding dirt bikes into property they aren't sure are public
Under Texas Law, you can use your booby-trap (“device”) to protect both land and tangible, movable property. However, you can’t set up booby-traps to protect just any property, you must be in lawful possession of it.
Additionally, Texas Law allows you to protect the property of a third person if you reasonably believe that they requested your protection; you have a legal duty to protect it, or if the third party is your spouse, parent, child, resides with you, or is under your care.

Put up trail cams they always come back to see if their traps are still there. I identified the last guy who did this to me on a public trail and he tried to take a gun out on the cops when I called em to his property which got him even more time behind bars
Out of all the comments I seen on this video. This is the best way to troubleshoot this problem. And get rid of these attempted murderers. When you find this kind of trap. Set a trail cam. And take off 1 side of the cable so it looks like it failed. They will try and fix it. Don't cut it. Make it look like it failed on its own. 😏 these MF need to go to jail. I heard lots of stories about this and almost had it happen to me 🤨

Yup had a family friend that rode motorcycles and he would cut through somebody's yard and they got mad and put a wire up and it nearly decapitated him. In the Infantry I had a platoon sergeant from Montana. He had a scar from the corner of his mouth all the way across one side of his face. We always assumed it was combat related.
One day I asked him about the scar. Turns out when he was about 12 he was riding in the woods and someone had strung a wire across the trail. His helmet saved his life. Without the helmet his head would’ve been severed from the mouth up.
There are some seriously disturbed people out there.
