Just received it and have a shave with , not as aggressive as it’s nickname and surprise me I’ve found Merkur futur more aggressive than this but it’s way more smoother than futur and feels more comfy,the only downside of this razor is it’s weight maybe the twist version have more weight than this , thanks Geo 🙏🏻

I have to say after much research I purchased an R41 from shave nation and I shaved with it for the first time today using the Muhle blade it came with (I have some feather blades I intend to try it with soon though). Absolutely loved it nothing has ever given me such a smooth shave, and yes I do have a pretty tough beard growth. Used a pre-shave, a good soap, alum block and aftershave. Three passes no nicks no irritation just baby smooth skin. It is now replacing my Gillette heritage safety razor.
Perfect timing for this video. I’m about a week and a half into growing a hockey playoff beard while my St. Louis Blues are playing. Hopefully I won’t be shaving for another month and a half waiting on a Stanley Cup victory, but this was a nice reminder that I have the R 41 waiting in the wings for a great shave afterwards. Thanks again for the reminder.

Geo🪒💈 Nice shave. TOBS Sandalwood scented products rate in the top 5 of all my shave software, just something magical about it. Don't forget the cologne, it truly is the icing on the shave. R41 perfection there and a KAI blade to adorn it, doesn't get much more aggressive. Geo says "take your time" then manages to wipe the growth off in 20 seconds... amazing! The TOBs sandalwood shaving cream is really warm and rich, but my favourite shaving cream of all time is the TOBs Cedarwood shaving cream. It has such a brilliant cologne/ pepper-citrus scent, with the same rich feel on the face as the sandalwood. If only TOBs expanded on the Cedarwood range the same as the sandalwood....

TOBS isn’t the best performing cream but their sandalwood scent is AMAZING. I love this splash! They also have a great sandalwood gel balm.

Greetings from the UK Geo - Have not used Taylor's of Old Bond Street in years. Will have to get a tub the next time I run out of shaving soap. The R41 twist is still the only razor in my small collection that can nick and cut me.

Hey Geo. I agree that all razor blade manufacturers should put their name on the blade. You know that it will be counterfeited. Those blades aren’t demoed that often. Great shave. You have an excellent technique. You could use anything to shave with.

Aftershave lotion first so as to disinfect the skin and apply balm after to moisturise it. If you use balm fist and lotion after it will just be a cologne application and not an aftershave.

As a guy with thick facial hair, a lot of neck hair and extra sensitive skin, I see you go against the grain on the neck with this aggressive razor and it hurts me... LOL... I've tried it with non-agressive razzors and it hurts me A LOT.

I use that exactly Sandalwood jar sometimes. I don't shave often now because of teleworking and because of skin irritation. I went back to using electric razor and just getting maybe 1mm away from face. Still don't know how you shave without irritation. Your skin is titanium or something.

Hey Geo! Bought first DE Muhle Grande 89, i took like half hours it's a lil bit scary at first, the only issue I had that the lather seemed dry, I have a Wilkinson soap now, did I did it wrong or it's just not that good soap?
I was amazed how I did against the grain riding the cap, no burning nothing, with the Muhle blade they give, but I ordered Feathers too, and under the nose I had a german mustache than used my catrige to clear all the way up to nose, I didn't want to cut it in half 😃
That's great for a first timer! Get a few more shaves under your belt and you're technique will improve and so will your enjoyment of shaving!
