    System of a Down was one of the only bands to come out of the early 2000’s that had longevity. Lots of disposable rock stars came out of that cringey era. Serj has a vocal range that very few human beings could ever hope to even have a sliver of. Like Freddy mercury before him. Both are generational talents. Once in a lifetime type of artists.

  • @SameJoinTheClub

    Love Serj. His vocal range, harmony and verbrato are incredible. Thank you SOAD for getting me through the tail end of 2020 and the hardest moments of my paramedical science studies. I’m now into Serj’s solo music in addition to SOAD while I embark on a double bachelors degree in criminology and forensic psychology. PEACE guys✌️. Much love ❤🙏🇦🇺

    Excellent interview, Xtina (despite the exitement/nerves) 😅
    Your ability to deliver relevant and interesting questions, whilst holding space for genuine connections with the artist, fosters an open and honest conversation. Just because it doesn't have what some people want to hear about, doesn't mean it isn't an awesome insight into this legend.
    Serj, you absolute sweetheart.. for me, the song to introduce people to SOAD which explores your ethos, influences, and is accessible to the normies has gotta be Aerials - with full intro and outro haha - thank you for all your incredible work in holding corporations and governments accountable for their atrocities. Spiders was my introduction to SOAD, and the film clip resonated with all of my favourite elements of metal and film production.

I primarily listen to Industrial (and all of its sub-genres) and it’s much “heavier” and more aggressive at times than conventional Rock based Metal. I also listen to a lot of old school Hardcore, and much prefer it over Metal. I’m not a fan of obnoxious guitar solo’s.

      @pekerhed101 Рік тому

      @@mollymae44 Yeah, Rogan's personal lack of music depth tends to be one of his weaknesses when interviewing somebody like a Rick Rubin. That was still a decent podcast overall. One of the most cringe moments during that Rogan/Rubin episode was when they were talking about the Beastie Boys, and Rogan was drooling over the Paul's Boutique album...and then Rick said, "Uh, yeah...I didn't produce that album"...and then Rogan kept on drooling over it, instead of maybe going back to the only Beastie album that Rick produced. I mean, Paul's Boutique is probably my favorite Beastie album, but if I had the producer of the Licensed to Ill album as a guest in my studio, I'd certainly spend more time asking more about THAT album than the one that immediately followed it. Just a bit awkward. I though JR would have readjusted in that moment, but he just kept on gushing over Paul's Boutique instead.
