Excellent video and explanation of a really functional setup option. I've recently switched to the Boss GX100 from HX stomp and love the way it sounds and I'm finding it much easier to build great sounding patches. cheers

Thanks for still posting man. I loved your videos when you dropped the boss GT10B tutorial series and I studied those religiously when I was starting out. You rocked then, you still rock now man. Hope you’re doing good.

Great video, and a VERY nice Schecter. Love that I’m seeing more of them pop up in recent years. Great guitars.

Very cool explanation between manual and memory. Personally, I'm using my C2 switch for Man/Tuner, this way one press to Manual mode, one press to Memory, long press to Tuner. Similarly, as you showed in the beginning, Memory/Man is also one press but I feel that loses functionality to have the option for Tuner on long press. I've had mine few months and I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which option to use memory or manual but doing this opens it up even more.

Yeah, a long press for tuner is much better in general, i have set mine to that. Its easier to long press when you are not playing and its far less critical to access the tuner than swithing an effect on/off in the middle of a song.

Hey Mate, thanks for your comments. I gave you a shout-out in my latest video to highlight the Man/Tuner functionality. Cheers T

Fantastic video, so clear and methodical, with great attention to details - all this shows uncommon pedagogic skills and true dedication to the viewer. It's a bit too advanced for me but I have bookmarked it to return when I am more familiar with my gear. For the moment, i am just hoping to find a quick way to create a clear patch that I could use as a blank canvass. Any recommendation on how to do that, please?

Thanks for your kind words. If i was to give any advice, it would be to explore some third party cabinet impulse responses. They definitely get you better sounding results than the factory cab options in my opinion. Then just start with a preset that gets you in the ballpark, and try some different cabs, you’ll be surprised how just that single element can make such a huge difference.

Nice GX100 video series you have! Ill send you (hopefuly) a bunch of new members sharing your channel. Keep the great work. Would be Nice a comparison the GX100 vs the other multieffects that you have. Using the same levels and IRs (in case) for a good review. Cheers from Guadalajara,México. You Can hear some of sounds that i made on my channel ✌🏻🤘🏻

I´m eyeing the GX100 and do have some doubts regarding its funtionality. Your videos are a great value for someone who considers this unit and I thank you for making these.
Hope you can help me out on these three doubts I have regarding the unit:
1- Using the "whammy" effect on the expression pedal, can we assign a footswitch to toggle on/off the whammy on the expression pedal inside a preset already configured for wah on the pedal? Like using a Digitech whammy pedal and having available wah and whammy on the same preset?
2 - Using manual mode, alongside the footswitches 1, 2, 3, 4 and C1 can I assign footswitches bank up/bank down to also be on/off effects?
3 - Is there a list of all GX100 effects available somewhere?
Appreciate all and any help Tian Jay or anybody really. 🙏

hi Ricardo, thanks for your message… To address question number one, there’s multiple ways to do this, you could set the expression switch to toggle between the whammy and Wah so when one is on the other is off and then use my active range settings as shown in a previous video to bring the effects level of each respective effect from 0 to 100 as soon as you move the pedal. Alternatively, you could assign one of the switches to toggle between whammy and wah.
      2. Yes, once in manual mode, all the switches are freely assignable.
      3. I would imagine this list exists on the boss global website but you can download the user manual which will also have this list.
Essentially, the GX 100 is incredibly flexible, even more so than some flagship models such as the quad cortex which has very poor switch implementation. for the money, it’s hard to go wrong. I hope I’ve answered your questions, good luck, cheers!
