Thanks for a great video Andy, I've had mine for 3 weeks and I'm well pleased. Love the tones, reverbs and delays but I'm a modulation guy as well and the stereo chorus', overtone and pitch shifting are a joy. So much more to discover. The touch screen and controls are ok but everything is much easier when you use the usb to connect to a laptop or pc to the Boss Tone Studio software. Top tip though, is to make sure you save your changes before changing to another patch or you're in a world of pain as you lose all your patch settings. Agree with you also about the volume pedal. I've upgraded from an old GT-10 and am used to a much more substantial and solid feel to the FV. I've had to adjust the FV settings to the slowest setting to get a smooth volume transition. I also set the volume to remain 30% on, in the fully off position, in some patches so it doesn't kill the sound if you accidentally pull off too far. I also picked up a good tip from Glen DeLuane; You can set the Tuner so that when the FV is in the fully off position the polyphonic tuner cuts in automatically. A handy feature...
I love my gx100. So many options. I have struggled, but I think succeeded, in sorting out the live set up for both direct to PA or an effects loop in an amp.
Can you change guitar sounds when you overdub? How is the looper? I like my new Ampero II however you are relegated to only one tone in the looper. If you change patches, that is changed in the looped playback which is not great. What other modelers do you like- how about the GX1000?
Excellent video! I've been trying to decide between this Boss unit and the HX Stomp XL... This video may be the one that convinces me to go with the Boss-- so thanks! The Latency comparison was one factor I hadn't considered before ;)

Thanks Andy, this is really useful. The main problem I have with programmable systems is for live use. I can program up a sound at home that's perfect, but when I get to rehearsals or gigs, what worked at home often needs to be tweaked for the outside world. With most devices I've used in the past, editing a patch just using the screen and controls on the device isn't a practical option, but I don't want to be booting up a laptop before a gig starts to use patch editor. The GX-100 looks like it's easy enough to tweak patches in the device itself without a laptop and for me that makes it worth considering for live use.
You're right, although with the devices I've used in the past (and the Boss Katana I currently use), you'd still have to boot up a laptop to get to the global EQ settings. The attraction with the the GX-100 is that it looks like you could produce your patches just using the device, without ever having to use a laptop.
Same here. I’ve owned many multi-effects units. Zoom G7, G3, G2, Boss ME50, ME 70, GT8, GT100, GX100, GT1000, Helix LT and PodGo. Eleven Rack and Headrush. And finally a Mooer GE300. Bought and sold all my pedals, moving between $2,000 worth of pedals on boards and the MFs… The thing that always was the Achilles heal of MF units for me was/is the user interface. Specifically the ability, or lack thereof, to reach down and quickly make changes. Not dramatic reprogramming, but minor tweaks like volume of a preset or the delay mix. I am currently very happy with my expensive pedals on a large board. Except… it’s so frickin heavy. Tweaked my 61 year old back yesterday wrestling it out the door to the back of the Pathfinder. Not again. My wife sez “you’re getting too old for all that” So, I ordered another GX-100. I got a little frustrated with it last year when I had owned it. I think I can work around it this time. It does have the best UI I have used so far. Most notibly you can assign the 4 knobs below the display to control many different parameters. Example, set a know on each preset as a volume, one as delay mix, the other two EQ. One thing to be aware of, Boss MFs have SO many ways you can change parameters/settings that its easy to get paralysis by analysis. Keep it simple. Tweak as you get more accustomed to the possibilities.
@@richardmorris363 The Zoom G3 was the absolute BEST interface.Just like real pedals. I wish more companies had that interface layout, Even Zoom changed it. They should have left that way.
I have the same history , with Kempers and Amps. I am now very satisfied with my GX 100 and a Harley Benton 2 x 12 FRFR Box. For Home use I play it over a my Kemper Power Cabinet and for recording straight into the DAW Interface . My to go Amp Model is the Boutique Amp. It can do everything from clean to crunch. My Gain Stages are the T-Scream and the Clean Boost. The Kemper Cabinet is a special Tip I can recomment. Try it with your GX100 and I promise you will be surprised. The negative thing about that speaker , it's not very loud.
I know this video is old, but you can tighten the pedal on the GX-100 to offer more resistance as well as change its sensitivity to give you a different response. I think the included pedal works great but it definitely won't hold up against a standalone expression pedal.
lol ... well, namm 2024 just passed by, they still didn´t . They even still sell that gt-100. I would wait for a gx-1000 if I knew it was around the corner, but since appearantly nothing is shown on NAMM I don´t expect anything soon.
I've been using my GX-100 for about 6mths now and I'm happy with the sounds. The biggest problem for me is that the GX-100 changes settings when my guitar lead touches the touch screen while I'm playing. The touchscreen on a floor unit is a problem for me.
That should be an easy fix. Your are a guitar player- be creative. Run your cable under the unit or use a rubber band to tie it back and prevent it from hitting the screen. You could also very easily affix a small plastic cover over the screen with some double sided tape or velcro. Cover it with a large magnifying glass and you will see the display even better! My new Ampero II has a LOCK button. I guess that is to help prevent the issue you are having. Really like the unit- only $400 and sounds good- especially the clean tones. I am not however able to change tones when I overdub/looper. Can you do that on the Boss? Like one clean loop and a dirty overdub? I find that lack of that feature annoying and shortsighted. That is the whole point of looping- to layer different tones.
there is a button on the face of the board that you can actually LOCK the screen (won’t respond to any touches) until you unlock the screen again. That would be my recommendation otherwise like D G said just be creative with your able routing 😎😊
... especially awesome tone (and playing) in the first 20 secs. Can you provide a general idea of settings for that? Do you find the parallel path feature useful, such as blending 2 amps? Have you compared this to the Pod Go? Thx for this posting.
i have a boss gt1000, i bought it when it first came out and what sold me was you can have 2 seperate chains having an acoustic sim in one and an electric running through one of the pre amps in another with seperate effects on each, so i can strum my electric guitar and fade in the electric signal with the footpedal making it sound like an electric guitar and acoustic guitar playing together, mind blowing, can the gx100 do this? if so i may buy one as a back up
The GX100 does offer dual signal chains. As far as the blend, I think you are referencing the mixer block that comes after the divider, which you can assign to the expression pedal to change the mix between either in dual mode. If you could post a picture of your GT1000 mixer and the overall signal chain on your main patch, I could attempt to rebuild it and let you know how it works. The GT1000 has a lot more computational power, so you can have many more effects, but for dual chains and a three or four different effects, the GX100 will work great.
Thnx for the vid. Was awaiting the new Mooer device, but am quit disappointed in what they made of it. Was hoping of a better (touchscreened) version of the GE300. And now this vid passes my eyes. Like others said, was a bit forgotten on Boss in al the turmoil of Fender, Headrush, etc... Hoever, 2 questions, and I hpe you still answers those on a year old vid ;-) - The icons seem very simple. Isn´t it difficult to distinguish different versions of delay or drive or reverb? 9Does it even HAVE different versions of those) - Is it possible to create multiple signal chains? I main like that you can by switching a patch or something like that, you get an entirely differently designed chain active?
Hey dude! Thanks for the comment. Yeah it’s a really good unit! I’ve actually moved over to the Line 6 HX STOMP XL, so I’d encourage you to at least take a look at that if you haven’t yet. Yes, there’s different types of delays. I think a handful of delays and reverbs. There will be a lag when switching from one preset to another. The way you get around this is by using one preset in manual mode and basically use it like a normal pedal board.
Very tempted by this unit! I have a Hotone Ampero and it has tons of potential, but it's just not intuitive or user friendly at all. I feel like it's constantly fighting me instead of helping me. The GX100 looks a lot easier to use.
Really? I hoave the Hotone Ampero 2 and barely read the manual and I am up and running. The only main complaint thus far is that I have been unable to change guitar tones while overdubbing. Is that true? If so, it might have to go. That would be a huge oversight. That is the main point of an overdub- layer "different" tones and it is important to me. The cleans are nice- the crunch tones are somewhat meh. The effects so far are ok but not amazing. In fairness, I have not even used the PC editor yet. Mostly using the stock presets. I really like the form factor and touchscreen. It locks so no guitar cable will effect the screen- unlike with this Boss. Do you have any tips for me? Does changing the IR or Cabs make a big difference?
I bought a Hotone Ampero new in 2019 and it turned into a brick exactly two years afterwards just when the warranty expired. It sounded really bad up until the third firmware update (18 months after release) and the latency was so bad it was impossible to record anything with it. The sounds after the 4th or 5th update were ok at best. My Nux MG30 that I paid much less for completely destroys it in every way.
@@lessthanpinochet I believe you. I bought the Ampero II. Cleans were good. Dirty- no great. Touchscreen good. Looper was great except I could not change the tone for the overdub without changing the original part- epic FAIL. DSP was light. When they release an Ampero III, it will have good potential as a backup modeler. Great form factor and low price. That said, it if bricks in 2 years the value is not really there. The Nux MG30 is pretty decent. When you want to upgrade, look at a lightly used FM3, or if you can swing it, a FM9 Turbo. You will be happy!
One question i have since i recently started looking at these. I noticed no balanced xlr. Would the stereo out work in some way to avoid going into a DI box and achieve the same result? Havent had the time to really dive into looking at these much yet, but that was one of my first thoughts was my output in a PA setting. Just looking for some insight!
Great video and review! Sounds FANTASTIC...could you please tell me where you have the Output going to please? Another amp? Going into audio interface? Etc. Problem with hearing these videos in unless we know the source of where these sounds are coming from, we can't duplicate them. MUCH appreciated!!!😁
Thanks dude! Straight into my audio interface. I don’t actually own a working amp - plus I feel like using an amp would take away the characteristics of the gx-100. It would be like speaker cab and mic “inception” Great question dude!
@@Frostensen haha thanks man, it’s a Schecter PT fastback. I actually sold this guitar last week 🫣 it’s a fantastic guitar to play and was very easy to play, I just found that I didn’t feel too inspired by playing it

Many thanks in advance!! What I love about it is that it is *SO* warm and organic, and whatever FX you have dialled in is exactly the style of tone I really enjoy when I play gigs and studio dates. They sound like real tube amps! Cheers! And thanks again!
Very useful video thanks. Just wondering whether you would recommend using this device for recording, at a “professional / semi professional level”. And if so what method you would recommend - USB or interface. My main concern is getting great sounds into the computer and I plan to use this box on some songs that I am making and will be releasing publicly. Hence asking. Thanks in advance.
Thanks man! I would recommend this for recording. It’s just sooo easy to use, much easier than micing up an amp. I always play through an interface using the 3 cable method. Just spend some time dialling in your tones and you’ll be fine!
@@accentontheoff similar sort of thing but that’s for plugging into a guitar amp. It includes 2 cables that go into the fx loop from the gx100. Just Google “4 cable method diagram” on Google.
I had a G6 for a while and I really like the pedal because it does a lot but the boss pedal does more. Mainly if you want more functionality with your buttons you want the boss pedal. They both sound great it's just a matter what options you want all at once. Boss will do more but it's also more expensive.
It's tough to use these things live. Once you add a band, the sounds that sound great no longer work. Plus you have to copy your rhythm sounds over to another channel, then add a lead boost. Getting that boost set high enough over a band is rough. 95% of bands guitarist never run their boosts high enough.
2 questions: can you connect an external pedal and have it function like the expression pedal, so that I can choose to use it as a wah or volume pedal? And is this pedal board overkill if I just want to use the effects? For over 10 years now I have been using Boss GT-8 and GT-100 in my setup but I don't care for the amp simulation, I just use the effects in conjunction with the four cable method. But Boss keeps focusing more and more on amp simulation, so I'm probably paying a serious amount for something I'm not using, but I don't know what could be a better alternative, I'm so used to my Boss effects... and I need that midi functionality to switch my amp channels.
Hey dude, yeah you can connect an external expression pedal up! Yeah, it might be a bit overkill buying the GX100 just for the effects based on how many things the gx100 can do.
@@andydavid9 Thanks for the reply! I have the feeling most of these pedal boards focus heavily on amp simulation. Can you suggest any good modern multi-fx pedal that's just about the effects? 4-cable method and midi are a must...
@@matibrandrock I actually switched to a helix stomp XL but then went back to the boss as the amps are way better imo. Wasn’t something I noticed until I went back to the GX. I think it’s hard to beat, especially at its price point
IMO the amps in the helix are far superior - its all a matter of taste. The Helix is also very simple to navigate and has XLRs which are preferable if going straight to PA live. But the LT costs more than the GX so buy depending on your needs.
Can the parameters of each individual effect be saved with a name? I'm not talking about saving an entire patch, but something like setting the speed and depth of a vibrato and then saving those parameters with the name "fast vibrato" to be used in a variety of patches?
Ah crap. A knob fell off your Schecter? :( I have a GT-1000 and I have it boiled down to 5 patches. But I agree, the dynamic realism is exceptional. Also like that they don't reference actual amps. So it's more to what you like vs what you "think" you should be using. TBH, most people don't know what amps sound like anymore anyway. So were already in a post-amp world. And drunk bar punters don't care about fancy gear, or how complex your patch sounds. They care if it sounds like tune you play..and whether you can play. Other than that, they're drunk, they could care less :). Best Regards and Best Wishes!
Hey dude, I’ve never used the GT100 but the touchscreen capability on the GX makes it so user friendly. Also the GX is newer and it uses AIRD technology
i'm a total techophobe , have been in 2 minds as to get this , the Headrush core and poss the Ampero stage as they look the easiest to operate and all seem to sound decent
Has anyone on here made metal tones with it? I've been going back and forth on what to buy over the past year. Helix, HeadRush etc I like simple and straightforward. I generally use 5-6 stompboxes on my board but having the ability to tweak things and just plug in headphones to practice would be nice. Any help would be appreciated. Greetings from America! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey dude, I don’t play metal so not the best at dialling in a decent tone for that genre. But I’ve recently picked up a line 6 HX stomp XL. It’s a lot better than the GX100. The high gain tones are a lot more thick and realistic and I’ve found that the delays are better too.
Yes and they sound and feel great under the fingers, and I've been playing through valve amps for 40 plus years and mine sounds and feels just like playing through a valve amp, amazing how they do it, but you have to create your own tones ideally to get your sound including changing the cab models tweaking the mic position to your liking, which made a massive difference also changing to the 4x12 or 8x12 stack,I have created my own using the BOSS X high gain amp also tweaking the amp settings for gain and scrolling through and tweaking amp settings, adding reverb, delay, wha, and a Tube Screamer with drive and level around 1 o'clock for an 80s Hard Rock/Metal rhythm and singing lead tones. It's like most modellers, no one creating these tones knows what your ideal tones are, so they are just starting points as only you know what you like. Too many people think they'll sound brilliant for them out of the box, but rarely do as only you can create your tones.
The differences that I’m aware of - are that the GT1000 has more foot switching capabilities because it’s physically a bigger unit. Also boss’s more expensive 500 series effects are in the GT1000 and 1000 core but not in the GX100. I actually bought the GT1000 core and then found out about the gx100, so I returned the GT to buy the GX and I honestly don’t notice a difference between 2 of the same patches.
You've got a gorgeous Shecter! Love Shecter guitars! What model is that? Cheers! I've got a full fat GT1000 and love the tones. GX100 seems to be a good deal, too!
@@andydavid9 oops, I meant the other guitar, it's black with a white pickguiard and two humbs! It says shecter on the headstock but can't clearly see the model name))) Cheers
@@Sevastopol91 technically the gt-1000 is better as it has the 500 series effects inside, has more memory for bigger chains and more stomps…. But that doesn’t mean it’s the better option. For example, if I were to buy the gt1000 I would have no need for all the added extras! The gx100 is more than enough for my playing, making it the better option 🙌🏼
How do you set the levels so when changing patches (presets) at a live gig, the volume levels (lufs) are all the same/very close? Do you use the Master in the effects chain, or the Level on the preamp?
I’m using the master in the effects chain dude. You get a view of the overall level for each patch so you can manually adjust it on the fly. However, if I’m going from a clean channel amp set up, to a dirty channel, sometimes the difference can be quite a lot so it might be a case of turning the level up on the amp for cleans as they run very quiet.
Honestly, nowhere near as good as through speakers in my opinion. I wouldn’t use the gx with headphones, and if I needed to use headphones - I’d just use a plugin
I'd agree for the "in the room" tone. I personally think that these units sound a lot better for recordings, and are easier to dial in. A mic'd up amp will never sound the same in a mix to how it does in the room. But at the end of the day, it is totally subjective.
Only 2 seconds of delay - noooo ifthas 500 series stuff in it then yes I would have … guess I’ll just have to wait till get series stuff gets a better display
I bought this and I think the sound 100% sucks compared to VSTs. Idk what is It, the sound is simply less full and clear. It's way thinner and sounds fake to me. Did I get something wrong? lol
Try tweaking the IR's, Cabs, sims, output options and stuff. Not sure you'll manage to go somewhere.. I bought the ME90, which seems very close to this, and after a few days of intensive work trying all the cabs, IR and stuff, just couldn't make it sound good when OD and distortion, plugged directly in a very good tube amp (tweed style PTP glorious thing). It just sounded horrible and artificial. What I found out on forums after sending it back is there is a tweak (not mentioned in the manual) to disengage the IR, to have a decent sound on a tube amp. But man, all that bullshit AIRD and stuff just to find out you can't use it on a tube amp without cutting half of the technology off? I mean, these things seem to be engineered at 90% for the digital crowd that play on monitors or full range speakers, plugged on a mixing desk or sound card. I think it's useless to buy these devices if you plan to plug it in a vintage style tube amp It'll totally ruin your beautiful tone. I'm not at all and old schmuck who doesn't want to use modern technology.. I'm synth and electronic music geek as well, very aware of every new stuff But these modeling devices are made for computers, not amps (good ones)
Be warned! You cannot use the Boss Tone Studio app to load IR's. You must use a separate app to load IR's in both GX100 and the GT1000 units! It's... kinda a pain in the balls.
I've sold it now. I think it's still a really good product, and very easy to use! I just switched to the HX stomp XL as I like the consistent updates and smaller form factor. I did a video on it, but the short of it is - they're both great! Just used for different scenarios. I'd use the boss more for live playing as the HX works better for studio.
How is the looper on the GX100? Ive never had a looper so its better than having none but some say its not its strong point but assume it would be ok for basic use. Im thinking of pulling the trigger on this one competitors are POD GO and Heardush MX5 but i think the Boss wins.
Hey man, I’ve just started using it and I love it. I think where the GX100 isn’t really aimed for a looper - more just for effects and amp sim, it is fairly standard. I use it to practise over a chord progression or even to layer up some guitars if I get an idea
@@andydavid9 Can you change the guitar tone in the overdub without impacting the original loop? My Ampero II does NOT allow this and it's very annoying. I have this one and i totally love it.
If the compressors and the tremelo sound good I’m interested.
Thanks, most videos of the gx100
didn't show me the tones i like on a strat, this did
Have you checked out the line 6 pod go? i think that would now give this a run for the money, nice comparison.
I know this video is old, but you can tighten the pedal on the GX-100 to offer more resistance as well as change its sensitivity to give you a different response. I think the included pedal works great but it definitely won't hold up against a standalone expression pedal.
I still own a GT-6 that literally hasn’t been used because it was so difficult to learn how to use it. Ive been thinking about getting this one
This would indicate that BOSS will release a flagship very very soon. Replacing the GT-1000
They will have to release after all they need to compete with their competitor's companies.
The company needs to run or else they won't survive
ME 90 is here as well. Definitely GX -1000 is coming ❤️
Well if they just dropped the mx100 outta their cheeks it’ll be updated I’d bet
lol ... well, namm 2024 just passed by, they still didn´t . They even still sell that gt-100.
I would wait for a gx-1000 if I knew it was around the corner, but since appearantly nothing is shown on NAMM I don´t expect anything soon.
Awesome video! Thank you.
You got it dude!
You could also just go wireless
there is a button on the face of the board that you can actually LOCK the screen (won’t respond to any touches) until you unlock the screen again. That would be my recommendation otherwise like D G said just be creative with your able routing 😎😊
There is a bluetooth chip and an app that lets you remotely change settings from a tablet or phone
great video, your fender strat sounds amazing, can you give some details about it? cheers!
... especially awesome tone (and playing) in the first 20 secs.
Hoever, 2 questions, and I hpe you still answers those on a year old vid ;-)
- The icons seem very simple. Isn´t it difficult to distinguish different versions of delay or drive or reverb? 9Does it even HAVE different versions of those)
- Is it possible to create multiple signal chains?
It’s really easy to use! I’m not great when it comes to new guitar technology but I knew exactly how to use this straight out of the box
Great video!! Can you put own irs in this pedal? Im wondering because im checking several pedals now , thanks :)
Thanks! Yes you can
One question i have since i recently started looking at these.
It would be like speaker cab and mic “inception”
Great question dude!
i have a Valeton gp 200,...... small issues i have .thinkin of getting this....

@@Frostensen haha thanks man, it’s a Schecter PT fastback. I actually sold this guitar last week 🫣 it’s a fantastic guitar to play and was very easy to play, I just found that I didn’t feel too inspired by playing it
I really want one of these, can I run it through a cab though without having to buy a power amount pedal?
Do people make and share song specific tones like say, an Eric Johnsons "Cliffs of Dover" or Metallica song-specific BOSS patches?
I think that you can losse or tighten the bolt on the side of foot pedal, and maybe that will change a little bit of feel, try it! Btw excellent video, you helped me a lot.
I’ll give that a try bro! Thanks 🙌🏼
how many save user presets does it have? thanks
That guitar sounds amazing. Which model and year is it? Special pickups? (Your demo is amazing, BTW.)

That's a really beautiful tone at 1' 10". Can you please inform us what it is? Is it preset, for example, or a custom patch?
Many thanks in advance
Thanks! Yes, that’ll be one of my own custom patches. It’s probably my standard patch with the OD, delay and reverb on. I think there’s a link to download it in one of my videos!
@@andydavid9 Oh thank you, brother. It really is a beauty!
Without trying to be a burden, would you please be able to point me to a link for it, if that's not too much trouble? I just bought my GX-100 today (still to be delivered) but that patch is truly wonderful and I'd love it if I could use it as a kicking-off point to explore the possibilities of this seemingly really cool FX board! Many thanks in advance!!
What I love about it is that it is *SO* warm and organic, and whatever FX you have dialled in is exactly the style of tone I really enjoy when I play gigs and studio dates. They sound like real tube amps!

@@PeymanSadir for headphones I’d probably go for a neural DSP plugin over this. This will still sound good, but depends on your headphones
@@andydavid9 Super. Thanks for the reply!
@@accentontheoff similar sort of thing but that’s for plugging into a guitar amp. It includes 2 cables that go into the fx loop from the gx100. Just Google “4 cable method diagram” on Google.
@@andydavid9 Ok got it thanks.
Thanks for the video. I am torn between this and Zoom G6. Any experience with comparing them?
I’ve not used the zoom so I can’t comment dude!
I had a G6 for a while and I really like the pedal because it does a lot but the boss pedal does more. Mainly if you want more functionality with your buttons you want the boss pedal. They both sound great it's just a matter what options you want all at once. Boss will do more but it's also more expensive.
anyone knows where i can find the effects/amp list?
static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/GX-100_prm_eng01_W.pdf
It's tough to use these things live. Once you add a band, the sounds that sound great no longer work. Plus you have to copy your rhythm sounds over to another channel, then add a lead boost. Getting that boost set high enough over a band is rough. 95% of bands guitarist never run their boosts high enough.
EQ is key, not just volume
@JoeWalsh-pm4zf This is very true.
@@Ceruleannn line 6 hx fx is killer for just the fx, also midi and external footswitch control
Buen video! Estrictamente sonido, calidad de sonido, boss gx100 vs nux mg30 vs mx5 headrush, que opinas ? Gracias
How does this compare to the helix floor or the lt?
No man, I don’t think so
That’s called an effect preset. It’s in the headrush mx5 but not the boss gx100. I have both
Yeah the knob fell off a while ago and I’m lazy 😂
Good point man! Haha
@@JackDeiten555-TheBridge I don’t think you can!

Has anyone used their boss Katana Mk2 with the GX100?
i'm a total techophobe , have been in 2 minds as to get this , the Headrush core and poss the Ampero stage as they look the easiest to operate and all seem to sound decent
Is the GX really Better than the ampero?
I think it's all personal opinion and what you need the unit for. All the modellers seem to do the same thing but work in different ways
More flexibility and lower latency in GX100 compared to Ampero
I agree. GX-100 is great. can I get your patches ?😊
Yeah dude, have a look at my channel. One of my main patches is linked for tone share

Hey dude, I don’t play metal so not the best at dialling in a decent tone for that genre. But I’ve recently picked up a line 6 HX stomp XL. It’s a lot better than the GX100. The high gain tones are a lot more thick and realistic and I’ve found that the delays are better too.
@@andydavid9 Cool. I literally just ordered a GX-100. Guess I should've read the comment first...
😆😆😆🤘🤘
@@TexAgsArmyVet haha it’s still a great effects processor man!
What’s the difference between a gx and gt?
The differences that I’m aware of - are that the GT1000 has more foot switching capabilities because it’s physically a bigger unit. Also boss’s more expensive 500 series effects are in the GT1000 and 1000 core but not in the GX100.
I actually bought the GT1000 core and then found out about the gx100, so I returned the GT to buy the GX and I honestly don’t notice a difference between 2 of the same patches.
The gx also doesn’t have XLR outs
Hey how does it sound with the 4 cable method ?
I haven’t been able to do that yet dude

That's what I'm thinking. And if GX is really designed more user-friendly, then I'm thinking about swapping. Thank you!
@@andydavid9 thanks for the reply....I'll give that a shot!
How does it ambient.
I’ll have to design a patch and do a video on it 😉
How does it sound through headphones?
Honestly, nowhere near as good as through speakers in my opinion. I wouldn’t use the gx with headphones, and if I needed to use headphones - I’d just use a plugin
I listen through headphones alot and think it sounds incredible. As good or better than my plugins.
But all these u beaut multy effect can still not replicate a valve amp with a real distortion pedal
First boss pedal that you just cant make a siple hi gain distorsion
anyone know if with the additional blutooth adapter can you connect the device to blutooth speakers?
I think it's useless to buy these devices if you plan to plug it in a vintage style tube amp
It'll totally ruin your beautiful tone.
I'm not at all and old schmuck who doesn't want to use modern technology.. I'm synth and electronic music geek as well, very aware of every new stuff
But these modeling devices are made for computers, not amps (good ones)
Be warned! You cannot use the Boss Tone Studio app to load IR's. You must use a separate app to load IR's in both GX100 and the GT1000 units! It's... kinda a pain in the balls.
You now can with new firmware 2.01
Are you still liking it in 2024
I've sold it now. I think it's still a really good product, and very easy to use! I just switched to the HX stomp XL as I like the consistent updates and smaller form factor. I did a video on it, but the short of it is - they're both great! Just used for different scenarios. I'd use the boss more for live playing as the HX works better for studio.
