Having Aegon's series filmed & shown later than the Dance of Dragons series is likely to do with the plot device of the dagger, and the prophecy on it. You can't have it as a 'surprise' reveal in House of the Dragon if you already saw it being made in a different show! As for success levels, I think the one for Jon- and indeed, any sequel series- will fall below what you might expect. This is for the simple reason that it will follow on in continuity from the mostly hated final season of GoT, or at least will be perceived to be doing so. The only chance such later set spin offs have is if GRRM finally releases Winds of Winter and Promise of Spring, and the series follows on from his resolution to the story, rather than DnD's.

There is little mystery in relating "imagined" history, though it depends on how it is written, but I would think mass interest would decline. House of the Dragon is the perfect follow up series because of the interpersonal conflict of the parts of the family.
People forget The Night King was nothing like he was in the books, Catelyn was supposed to come back as a zombie, and Tyrion was an absolute scumbag. They were never that close to the source material, people's complaints about the show don't even make sense.

Visenya wouldn't have used blood magic to make an heir or turn their legacy inside out to make Maegor king if she wasn't sure. Aenys being weak could have been ignored with the possibility of potentially suitable sons, especially if Maegor became hand. He was actually pretty good in a more supportive role before gunning for the throne. I'm so excited to see it played out and who they choose for the roles. Visenya is gonna be a tough role to fill.
to be honest House of the Dragon should had started with Aegon the conqueror, then give 2 or 3 seasons to every king/event till the end of their rule with Robert Rebellion. HBO could eat of that show for years, i think this is them realizing they shot themself in the foot for no reason by just starting with the Dance

The legend says that The Nights King (Lord Commander) had relations/married a white walker, so maybe the Night King/whose controlling the White Walkers has Stark Blood and that’s why Benjan Stark retains his mind in death and resurrection. He is a White Walker but he has his mind and isn’t a mindless drone because of his Stark Blood.

@@starkiller6740 Aegon has to be light skin. Not all Velaryons were black. Corlys is because he is descendant from a line of sailors and sailors in Summer Isles are reknown. So it's most likely that he was mixed, becaudse his dad or so had a summer isles wife. There's also has to be a light skin velaryon line because we know that Jaehaerys mother is a Velaryon yet he is white in the show as we saw in the prologue (so his mother cannot be black nor can be his greatgranpas Rhaenys and Aegon), and the HoTD characters are white too, yet they marry among themselves.

Dunk and Egg is obviously a pet project of GRRM's as well. Like you, though, I'm puzzled by it. The stories are very simplistic and seem designed for children. I regretted buying the book. None of the stories have the edginess, maturity, or complexity of the original source material. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Have snow and during that; we get Arya travelling, Sansa at winterfell, The Arryn lad, Bran and all them. Can be done. And I hope they do.. And Drogon coming back when Jon is most need of big help. We can only dream

Aegon's conquest is the show we need. It is talked about in every show constantly. We need to see this. I have read the histories and know how the story goes but there is so much detail that would make the conquest incredibly helpful in understanding how and why the Targaryens ruled for so long. But I would also love to see the Dawn Age. When the children of the forest had Westeros and fought with the First men.... then they made peace and the Andals came in to start war again.... there is soooo much in the histories that is just amazing stories.... I say start at the very beginning or at the very least with Aegon's conquest. My two cents 🤓 Love your channel BTW... keep the vids coming!
I mainly agree with you on seeing the North develop. I am somewhat enjoying the HOTG with the dragons but I’m not sold on the chosen actors (in some spots) I think it’s going to get better but we will see. But yea I want the Starks

Yes I would have rather seen the one about the long night. I was curious about how they were going to address the Azor Ahai thing. If they were going to do it the way it’s mentioned in the books with him having to put his blade through his womans heart etc or as the story just being a metaphor for something else. Could do something about Bloodraven. Would encompass parts of Blackfyre Rebellions, Dunk and Egg, Maester Aemon, Children of the Forest, Nights Watch and The Wall, maybe Lands of Always Winter and such. And, of course, ties into Bran and GOT. Have to admit that GRRM concocted a remarkable world. And the actors who have played some of these parts have added to it (GRRM supposedly told Paddy Considine that he preferred Considine's "King Viserys" to his own "King Viserys"). I had high hopes for the 'Snow' sequel. Its been nearly 2 yrs (June 22) since HBO intentionally 'leaked' info about it on the internet. This was two months before the premier of HOTD, no doubt to re-ignite the fan base and gauge the response. Despite GRRM's help, approval, & blessings, HBO has found fault with the 'Snow' sequel. I was pleased to learn that Kit & Sophie have been cast in an upcoming period piece set against the backdrop of The War of the Roses. Many GoT fans are excited. It's bound to be a financial success. I hope HBO is paying attention.
John Snow, finds out there are some proper evil dragon riders on the other side of the world and hitting westros distroying many places. After his home was destroyed his soul mission is to find Drogon to save the rest westeros and the world, but he must pick the evil dragon rider off with epic battles , head on with all the evil riders is certain death and John knows it by near misses with them at full force. The evil Dragon riders are unknown at frist but eventually John Snow finds out they are of old valerians and using their Dragons for mass murders, basically like a dictatorship or worse cannibalistic twisted Freaks of nature kinda BS or both could, that could spice thinks up for John Snow as sequel. It's getting me on the edge of my seat thinking about it.
Giving the fans what they want would be to fix season 8 with a proper sequel, or a remake of the ending. This show and HOTD don't matter, they all lead to the same horrible ending of GOT.
I would very much like to see the "Doom of Valyria" and "Aegon's Conquest." If we go even further back than the doom of valyria, then a small segment can be added to either one of the two shows, where it's shown how they create dragons from wyverns and firewyrms. Also, a spin-off about the Red Priestesses in Essos, and the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai could be interesting.

Brand new GoT fan here. After finish GoT in just a month and read/watch other things about and around this time of the Universe, im gonna watch House of Dragon, and read the Books. But instantly after the end of GoT i have interest for the the background of Robert Rebellion, Jon Snow in The North, and for me personally the most interesting ,but there almost no info - The expedition of Arya Stark to the West. I really want to see this in the Future.
I literally cannot think of anyone else besides Henry being Aegon. He just has that face along with that snide anger that is hidden behind a snarl. His eyes have an elite attitude behind them, and at the same time, an intelligence to be feared. He is just an all-around Aegon the Conqueror!!

I got the idea from ASOIAF wiki from their journey to the white wall as the nobles who had previously fought in the first rebellion on blackfyre side were conspiring against the crown.

I don't know, I think he seems too cruel. Aegon was violent and righteous, but not especially cruel. I absolutely could see him as the perfect Maegor.
Aegon's conquest is the show we need. It is talked about in every show constantly. We need to see this. I have read the histories and know how the story goes but there is so much detail that would make the conquest incredibly helpful in understanding how and why the Targaryens ruled for so long. But I would also love to see the Dawn Age. When the children of the forest had Westeros and fought with the First men.... then they made peace and the Andals came in to start war again.... there is soooo much in the histories that is just amazing stories.... I say start at the very beginning or at the very least with Aegon's conquest. My two cents 🤓 Love your channel BTW... keep the vids coming!
I mainly agree with you on seeing the North develop. I am somewhat enjoying the HOTG with the dragons but I’m not sold on the chosen actors (in some spots) I think it’s going to get better but we will see. But yea I want the Starks

Yes I would have rather seen the one about the long night. I was curious about how they were going to address the Azor Ahai thing. If they were going to do it the way it’s mentioned in the books with him having to put his blade through his womans heart etc or as the story just being a metaphor for something else.

In about 10 years, we are going to have a ton of “machete cuts” lists on the internet. The way the Star Wars prequels fit narratively better between Empie and Return, we are going to end up with a “Start with HotD 1-3, now Conquest ep 1” etc

I've always said i want to see the "Snow" series i'm House Stark through and through but "when" or "if" we get to see it is anyone's guess... I am looking forward to seeing "The Wolf of the North" Cregan Stark, Winterfell and the Wall in Season 2
Totally agree about it being chronological, I'd watch any that they bring out although I'm really wanting Snow to be made. Then again the long night and the creation of the knight king and the white walkers wold be great!

Yeah it's sad that they didn't move forward with the white walker show. Maybe it will get another chance at some point; I think a lot of people were interested in it.
Could do something about Bloodraven. Would encompass parts of Blackfyre Rebellions, Dunk and Egg, Maester Aemon, Children of the Forest, Nights Watch and The Wall, maybe Lands of Always Winter and such. And, of course, ties into Bran and GOT. Have to admit that GRRM concocted a remarkable world. And the actors who have played some of these parts have added to it (GRRM supposedly told Paddy Considine that he preferred Considine's "King Viserys" to his own "King Viserys"). Anyway, just a thought

I had high hopes for the 'Snow' sequel. Its been nearly 2 yrs (June 22) since HBO intentionally 'leaked' info about it on the internet. This was two months before the premier of HOTD, no doubt to re-ignite the fan base and gauge the response. Despite GRRM's help, approval, & blessings, HBO has found fault with the 'Snow' sequel. I was pleased to learn that Kit & Sophie have been cast in an upcoming period piece set against the backdrop of The War of the Roses. Many GoT fans are excited. It's bound to be a financial success. I hope HBO is paying attention.
And i'm sure they're crying in their wallets.

John Snow, finds out there are some proper evil dragon riders on the other side of the world and hitting westros distroying many places. After his home was destroyed his soul mission is to find Drogon to save the rest westeros and the world, but he must pick the evil dragon rider off with epic battles , head on with all the evil riders is certain death and John knows it by near misses with them at full force. The evil Dragon riders are unknown at frist but eventually John Snow finds out they are of old valerians and using their Dragons for mass murders, basically like a dictatorship or worse cannibalistic twisted Freaks of nature kinda BS or both could, that could spice thinks up for John Snow as sequel. It's getting me on the edge of my seat thinking about it.
Giving the fans what they want would be to fix season 8 with a proper sequel, or a remake of the ending. This show and HOTD don't matter, they all lead to the same horrible ending of GOT.

I would very much like to see the "Doom of Valyria" and "Aegon's Conquest." If we go even further back than the doom of valyria, then a small segment can be added to either one of the two shows, where it's shown how they create dragons from wyverns and firewyrms. Also, a spin-off about the Red Priestesses in Essos, and the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai could be interesting.

Brand new GoT fan here. After finish GoT in just a month and read/watch other things about and around this time of the Universe, im gonna watch House of Dragon, and read the Books. But instantly after the end of GoT i have interest for the the background of Robert Rebellion, Jon Snow in The North, and for me personally the most interesting ,but there almost no info - The expedition of Arya Stark to the West. I really want to see this in the Future.
I literally cannot think of anyone else besides Henry being Aegon. He just has that face along with that snide anger that is hidden behind a snarl. His eyes have an elite attitude behind them, and at the same time, an intelligence to be feared. He is just an all-around Aegon the Conqueror!!

I was kind of pissed that in the main series they never showed the dwarf witch woman scene. That is the most prolific scene out of all the books.

@@Alejojojo6 I am not a book reader but as I know that first rebellion might have already happened when his journey starts. I got the idea from ASOIAF wiki from their journey to the white wall as the nobles who had previously fought in the first rebellion on blackfyre side were conspiring against the crown.
