Admit that when you first got Rocco, I wondered about 2 things: how a Jack Russell would tolerate vanlife and if you’d have to keep a constant eye out that she not sail off a cliff in her enthusiasm. She has proven to be amazing…hilarious when she beats you to the peak and stunning watching her scale that rock in the slot canyon. Your videography has always been great but it gets better all the time. And Rocco is a not-to-miss addition.
I have commented on this before, but I am a huge fan of those drone shots from up high. So, so beautiful and great footage. It's super cool seeing you and Rocco as two small dots amongst the gorgeous landscape.
I don’t think he could have found a more perfect companion dog than Rocko. She’s just incredible and looking very strong and agile as well as adorable 🥰 Stay safe out there!
Rocko is crushing those 12,000 foot peaks! And I love watching her zip back and forth in those slot canyons with so much energy and excitement! She has a zest for life that we can all envy!
The fact that he places his camera at certain angles up on cliffs of the canyon just to walk down and go back up so we can have a different perspective of the journey is truly miraculous and shows the dedication to his channel!
That high amount of energy is just part of the Jack Russel Terrier breed! They’re full of energy, tenacity, strong will, and can climb! They can be stubborn and feisty when they’re forced to do something they don’t want to do. But they are a good little dog if you train them right and respect the breed! Food looks delicious as always-that van is a 5 star restaurant on wheels! The mountains ⛰️ and canyons are awesome! Thank you for all your hard work and efforts in every video!
Rocko has become quite the rock climber!! I love how she knew just how to apply pressure on one side to hold herself in place as she used her feet to move up that tight rock section, just like a human would do it. And to think she looked like this shy little pup when she first joined the channel. She has gained her confidence and is now up for any challenge with you. You are a very lucky man Foresty Forest!!
Rocko's noticeably a different dog from the beginning. At first I imagined she would slow down or 'tame' the extremity of your adventures but now it looks like you're having the hard time keeping up with her. Cheers brother. Stay safe.
7:07🐕 BOING BOINGBOING BOING 🤣Watching Rocko on the return trip is so much BETTER than just seeing the trail💯 Thank you for all you are, share & Do Simon! You make the world a better place for us all ✊🏽🍀❤🙏
What a little scrapper Rocko is! Watching her climb up that little place where it squeezed her ! Amazing! She's just like you!! Great video Simon! Thanks for sharing once again!
I pick yours..... " Little Scrapper".... Best description of Rocko..... The entire comment section is impressed.... She sure is the Best For Foresty.... In part because he considers Safety more then he used to....
Great video Simon, loved how rocko “helped” with the cooking and her face when she realised that she may of changed the cooking temp…😅 She sure is a determined little lady by the way she scaled those rocks and like you said she has all the characteristics of a terrier. Van looking good, fording the water crossing and ploughing through the snow ❄️ And great contrasting between the mountains 🏔️ and the canyons 😊 Awesome stuff.
I was holding my chin seeing Rocko climb that wall 7-8times her height using her back as leverage to push herself up that rock! Amazing determination! The corridors in the canyon was amazing to see! The overhead shot was really dedicated! Thanks again Foresty & Rocko for the marvelous journey!❤
I was laughing at giving the van a good old clean..before instantly driving it into a river 😂 Foresty have you read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand? It's the true story of an Olympian who fought in ww2, before getting lost at sea and then ending up in prisoner of war camps. It's an absolutely incredible read, highly recommended. Great video as always Foresty!
Huge kudos for the Koyaanisqatsi reference and evocative music, I worked at an art house cinema in high school, and they played it, and it was absolutely riveting to watch repeatedly. I am always astounded by Rocko’s energy, where that she was bouncing down the mountain!
I recommend reading Endurance by Alfred Lansing, a crazy but true story about an Antarctic expedition where the crew got stranded and had to survive until they could get themselves home
Can you imagine if Foresty Forest never picked up a camera and brought us along.....? I never could have imagined somebody lived this way. Comfortably. I don't gush over UA-camr's. FF is different. Those opening shots are why I watch for this guys videos. Unparalleled cinematography! So stunningly clear and wide scoped. What a fascinating part of the planet. I would be a little afraid of hiking through those deep narrow canyons if it was in any weather where sudden rain could fall. Perhaps Foresty was able to check them out before going in some how. That steep climb up the snow…I’m about 64 and have had lots of surgeries on shoulders and knees. I could not even think about it. He must have tip top lungs and legs to achieve these summits. If it was the 80’s he could make an exercise video out of it. Roco seems to be keeping her fitness up. Showed dogged determination getting up over that one hurtle. They are robust little dynamos.
OMG your opening line in this episode is a reference to Koyaanisqasti. I thought maybe I was the only person still alive who remembers that amazing visual & musical experience of a movie. But I guess NOT. Keep up the great videos FF.
Foresty I know Rocco is a maniac just like most Jack Russell Terriers are! I've been around a lot of Jack Russell terriers in my lifetime all pretty well mannered but very aggressive and you can sure tell Rocco's aggressiveness just by the moves that she makes. Makes me so happy to know that you have a good partner with you all the time, didn't know if it was going to work out at first but she sure has grown into a full-out mountain climbing Beast. You just don't know how bad I want to see that part of the country and also the northwest , I've seen so much Northeast in my life down south in Texas and pretty much all over the East Coast but where you're at right now I would love to see and Washington State also. Anyway my friend you take it easy and stay safe.
Foresty & Rocko, what a great team you are, so look forward to your videos every week. The adventures you take us all on are amazing & I so look forward to see what you're going to cook after your long hikes, I'm impressed with your cooking ideas. You had asked people for book ideas, one my husband & I ,& our friends really enjoyed is " Beyond the Trees" by Adam Shoalts. He goes on treks across the Yukon & others, usually alone. Knowing how much you enjoy the outdoors & hiking, I think you would really enjoy his adventures. Sorry this is so long, keep up the great videos & giving us some joy in this dark world, with you & Rockos adventures. Praying for you both, take care & God Bless. I 😁👍🙏
WOW nice Pictographs' at the beginning nice to see indeed have to love em. Seeing Rocko scale that cave wall was impressive and shows her determination and spunk. Impressive for a small girl.
Wow, yes, she's an impressive girl. Rocko's a natural climber!
I came on here to say the same thing. Very impressive.
So athletic! Takes after her dad
She’s got some big muscles too.:) 💪🏼
Total bad ass
Rocko going up that wall was AMAZING! Good doggo!
10:10 like a pro!
The physical confidence and problem solving - that was unreal! rock climbing Rocko! also noticed she's looking pretty jacked now haha
Pretty sure we got a good window view into rocko's personality when you attempted to move her from her comfy spot on the camping bed 🛌 🐕 😄
Jack Russell breed is territorial, lunatic and aggressive
Exactly I was like oh wow who is this grown up doggo
Just what I was thinking!
This video has now turned into 14 minutes of spectacle and awe at Rocko's amazing athletics, stamina, speed and agility. She's an unstoppable force!
That dog climbing shows she was born to be with you. Glad to see you happy and healthy my man.
10:12 my jaw literally dropped open. That was amazing, Rocko.
10:11 holy crap she's a natural, that's some solid free solo climbing technique!

She’s a Jack. They don’t slow down! Mine was about 13 before he decided it wasn’t a good idea to chase balls and frisbees anymore.
I couldn't BELIEVE she was still energetic AF after that monster hike!
She is perfect for him though..
