Rocko's leaps are legendary! You can see she's factoring in all the variables beforehand. You surely couldn't have done better for a traveling companion. #Rockostrong
Simon is shy and quiet. Foresty Forrest is a guy who explores and gets outside his comfort zone, to do things we don’t get to. You don’t have to be the UA-cam guy. Quality wins over quantity every time - and you supply that in every video. About 15 mins is the magic mark for me. Not so long as I need to set it aside for later but can jump on it as soon as I sit down for a while. Of course if you want to make more of them - that’s fine by me! 👍🏻

It’s funny, for a few months now I’ve consistently admired how precise you are with your words. Quality over quantity. No “ums, ahs, ers.” You’re right on point. Same goes with your amazing footage.
Great hike Foresty. Don't apologize for not talking so much....many You-tubers ruin great scenery with excessive talking or awful unsuitable music. Your imagery, music and words are just fine. I feel I get much more from your videos than from many others. I do also appreciate the historical info you sometimes add, like today the stuff about the telephone line and the Boulder Mail Trail.
I'm going to echo everyone else here; we're here to see your journey, however much of it you share is up to you. We're just glad to be included! And as far as speaking, everyone is their own worst critic. You're just different, that's not a bad thing. Your channel feels REAL, not like a clickbait infomercial.
What an adventure! Rocko is so coordinated the way she leaps from rock to rock..Rocko is a good name for her.. Glad you both had your burgers. You deserved them. Your videos are perfect. We love every minute.
Don't worry about the length of the videos or the amount of chatter. We who have watched you for a while know how you are, and we watch because you're you. Also, channels like @Swedwoods do just fine without any chatter at all.
Thanks! Your scenery says so much. You don't need to talk a lot. They tell the story really well. And now with Rocco there's almost two stories being told.
To actually be there in person must be the real deal but I'd say you are doing these places justice by sharing them like you do. Thanks for your effort in taking us for the ride!
Watching Rocko leap and bound over the streams makes me heartsick but happy...just said goodbye to my beloved Aussie, Bindi, who was an outdoor wonderdog all her life. We would always fight for the leash (a necessary evil in many parks) because she would pull you up hills. Whenever we could have her off leash she would lead on the trails then go back and wait for the last hiker in line making sure you were safe.
Dude, This video is exactly why I keep coming back. You are out there poking life in the eye. It feels like an honour to be along on the adventure with you. I had that burger at Nemo's a long time ago. It tasted good then but I hadn't hiked for 10 hours. Yours must have been amazing.
Don't change a thing about video length. Your videos are visually dense and your narration is enough to let us know what is going on. Its so easy to maintain interest from beginning to end. Keep on doing what you are doing. Oh yes, and Rocko is great! a great addition.
This 13 minutes was more rewarding than an hour full of nothing memorable. I can't tell which of you two have more energy! Thanks again for taking us along for the ride.
Awww, Foresty...this video was perfectly....perfect. I enjoyed every second of your very long hike. You earned every single one of those delicious calories. 😋 Rocko enjoyed hers too. Perfect celebratory meal. Thank you for everything. You look so happy and content. 👍
FF you two could chill at the van and cook and we'd still watch you guys lol.... ASMR videos. FF and Rocko and 57k of us staring at your fireplace lol....

There is so much crappy stuff in the news and then I come here and just enjoy and am thankful that there are people like you (and Rocco) to remind me of all of the beauty and kindness. Cheers - the burger looked delicious and Rocco getting that fry … priceless.
I watched this again today ... I love the nature parts, but I also CRAVE the inside the van cooking. I am a solo human (dog and cat) household and love to cook (and bake sourdough stuff). It is so nice to see another solo human making a variety of food and/or enjoying good food.
It's always been quality over quantity with you Foresty. You're vids are among the best on UA-cam. Your natural self doing what you do is what we all enjoy as you can see from the comments below. Thank you.
Foresty, I am always amazed at how you continuously challenge yourself physically on your expeditions. 38 kilometers or 24 miles in one very long hike, with most of it slogging through water is unbelievable! I imagine that you and Rocko were both probably quite tired at the end that day! Thanks for including the views of the petroglyphs in "Death Hollow". I have always found petroglyphs to be fascinating. They make me wonder about the people who created them, and what they were trying to express. Great job!
The videography in your videos blows every other van life channel out of the water so please dont change! You might not be a natural talker but what you do say is worth listening too, your sense of humour is top notch too! 👍🏻
I think I've watched all your videos to date.... Took some time but I did it... You totally rock Brother.. Stay safe out there on your wicked awesome adventures!
@@forestyforest Without a doubt your one of my favorite UA-camrs right now... I love how you tackle all these crazy peaks... like No Big Deal... lol EPIC drone shots too... Your a LEGEND!
A good cup of coffee is one of life’s pleasures! Especially when paired with a cinnamon roll. 😊 This hike was epic! I didn’t think there would be so much water in the bottom of those canyons. Got a little worried that you and Rocco might get hypothermia. Glad you made it all the way. The two of you are real troopers. Your videos are the perfect length, with the perfect amount of music, voice, and gorgeous scenery. Thank you!
Love Rocko’s adventures!!! Love that you don’t over talk. Lose interest after awhile. You have the right amount of time in your videos. Thank you for all you do.
A few minutes to watch your adventures is fun and I really appreciate what you present to us. I love your content. Doesn't matter that you're a quiet guy, your videos speak volumes. Keep being you!
So I guess I'm an emotional guy who loves his dogs and Rocko. When the burger lady said "actually we do" I kinda choked up a tiny bit. Keep it up Forrest, Rocko, thanks.
Funny you said you wish you were a natural talker… Im glad you more the quiet guy, great videos to relax to and still learn just enough. Do not wish to be anyone else, you’re great God Bless!!❤
Hey Foresty, love your videos! Been following you for 2-3 years now. A quick suggestion from a marketer - bundle up all your past (and future) videos into UA-cam playlists. For example, based on location (Alberta Rockies, Utah etc.) or have other types of categories, like van build etc and have these individual videos link to the whole playlist on the upper right corner or a card at the very end of the video on the right side of the new patreon supporters list. There are quite a few people using your videos as a go-to guide, and if they're going to BC for example, a playlist of all the locations you've frequented would be amazing! A lot of these videos contain really valuable information on what to look out for, where to go etc. It's quite time consuming, but it's maybe a couple of days' work that might pay dividends in the long run (more views, since people are being guided to the next video at the end of the one they're watching and it's all relevant fo them). Or you can pay someone overseas to do it, it's pretty simple (but somewhat time consuming nevertheless) and shouldn't be too expensive. Anyway, stay healthy and keep spoiling us with some of the best content on UA-cam, no joke! Take care!
The quality of your videos, the stunning scenery, and the epic adventures make a great enough presentation already. No need to try and stretch them, they're already top notch 👍👏
More important than anything is YOU! Take your health seriously, rest, Rest, REST between these marathon adventures. I agree with you on Utah. All the trips around Utah I have really enjoyed, such a beautifully diverse state, lucky you to be there lucky us to come along. Thanks Forest now REST. ❤❤❤ from Michigan
Rocko snagging that french fry was probably one of the cutest things i've ever seen in my life. Utah has been on my bucket list for a while, I really need to get there someday
Nope, not a monkey. Mountain goat maybe, definitely a GOAT for the adventures you share. Thank you Foresty and Rocko! (FYI: GOAT = Greatest Of All Time) 💕
AAAnd, just FYI, your videos are perfect the way they are. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to create longer videos. I believe all your subs are here for any content you want to put out.
As a minimalist Foresty always seems to hit the high quality aspects of his day climbing without any filler. I enjoy that he understands on his aggressive climbs he is comfortable just letting the video tells his story without constant chatter. Roco has become an such an asset to his hikes and his life. Interesting to see her in the cold water. She is doing it, but I’m not certain she is digging it. But she lets nothing stop her being with Foresty. I can’t even conceive walking 24 miles let alone uphill and in soft sand. He has the conditioning of a Big Horn Sheep in the Rockies. Hey Foresty thought you might like to know that for Christmas I’m taking my family from Texas to Banff! The mountains in Alberta hold my heart and I want my granddaughters to experience some of it and to know what’s it like to toboggan. I have been to Banff and surrounding areas since 1980. I get homesick when I see you in that neck of the woods.
There are those of us who think you pack more enjoyment in a short video than others put in 30 minutes. We like you the way you are!
Thank you!

Great videos man! You mentioned a few times about your health. Maybe take a look at your salt intake. A high sodium diet could be the culprit.

Funny you said you wish you were a natural talker… Im glad you more the quiet guy, great videos to relax to and still learn just enough. Do not wish to be anyone else, you’re great God Bless!!❤
That long hike and the double cross the streams for video content was very impressive.
No need to talk much, the visual story is so satisfying. Silence is golden.
Take care!
Really good suggestion, Edgars P! I agree with you 100%.
Rocko the flying wonder dog! Amazing how she leaps across those fast moving streams. You have the perfect hiking companion!
Rocko snagging that french fry was probably one of the cutest things i've ever seen in my life. Utah has been on my bucket list for a while, I really need to get there someday
Thank you Foresty, and puppy. Please continue to do you. You are perfect.
Nope, not a monkey. Mountain goat maybe, definitely a GOAT for the adventures you share. Thank you Foresty and Rocko!
(FYI: GOAT = Greatest Of All Time) 💕
I like seeing true joy lol that looked like one darn tasty cinny bun, Forest! Give Rocko a pet for us all! Love your videos!!
Simon is the Jack Russell terrier of van lifers. Just keeps going.
Here's a thought my grandfather would says "people who talk a lot don't necessarily tell the truth all the time, ..." your narrative is perfect. ..
