The lack of Drew Barrymore on the list is sus.
And they also should have said that Debbie was on the Halloween town movies as the grandmother
People, and Ms. Mojo need to learn the actual definition of nepotism. "The practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs." Just because someone has famous parents, unless those parents actually hired their offspring, it's not nepotism. Trump giving all his kids high profile government jobs after becoming president, THAT'S nepotism!
Angelica Huston Kate Hudson
Liza Minnelli
The fact that Kendall denies being a nepotism baby is literally hilarious to me
Lily Collins is a nepotism baby, and I give her props for being at a level where people are surprised to hear Phil Collins is her dad.
Yeah I was totally surprised to learn lily is Phil's daughter
@@angelaholmes8888 me too I also surprised that Liliy was related to her father Phil Collins.
The whole Kardashians/Jenner siblings has no talents at all...tbh.
I somehow always forget that she’s Phil’s daughter and I gasp every time I “learn” it
Wait, what? She is?!
I will say it again, the omission of Liza Minnelli in this list is criminal.
The whole time I was thinking "oh Lizas gonna be #1" and then...
When was the first time you said it?
👍
Agree!!!! 100%
You're so right. Liza is who I think of when I think of a preformer with a very famous mother who forged her own path. I don't even associate her mother with her. I think for a long time I didn't know and just saw Liza as the iconic pop culture figure that she is.
How could you forget Liza Minnelli?!
(Daughter of Judy Garland and director Vincente Minnelli)
Definitely compared to some people on the list.
I think at the very least she should have Billie Lourdes’s spot.
@@106andie I think she should be #1!

Nicholas Cage earns my respect since he chose not to use his famed Coppola name to avoid the nepotism and proved himself to be immensely talented on his own.
Right?! I had not idea he was a Coppola?!
@@funsizedi88 Same! And his cousin is Jason Schwartzman (whose mom played Connie Corleone in the Godfather series)
So, just because the audience doesn't know his real name doesn't mean everyone in Hollywood didn't. Because they did and he didn't avoid nepotism at all.

Nepotism is fine in any industry as long as the family members are qualified. When I say qualified I mean, educated, trained, experienced, talented and worked hard to be where they are.
I think that the term "nepotism" is frequently misused. Originally, it was used to describe situations where someone in power hired (or appointed) (unqualified) relatives.
Most (if not all) of the people on this list do not fall under that definition. They are more often beneficiaries of their family's influence (or power).
However, I think a case could be made with Sofia Coppola being cast in "The Godfather." Interestingly, you could make the same claim about Helena Bonham Carter (especially in "Sweeney Todd") or Mia Farrow (in any Woody Allen movie). However, they were both already established in the industry.
Also, there might be a discussion about Tony Goldwyn (can you say MGM?).
Being the child of someone definitely will open doors but the child has to have talent to have a career. For every Jeff Bridges or Ron Howard there is a Tori Spelling.
Nepotism is when people in power chose their family members over others employees. No one should care if the boss choses a family member that is qualified?
😂🤣😂🤣
Employers chose family over other qualified applicants all the time. It is possible for the bosses relative to be qualified as well.
It’s crazy how Jake and Maggie Gyllenhall have both done superhero movies. Maggie did DC (The Dark Knight) and Jake did Marvel (Spider-Man: Far From Home)
You know what's a lot more crazier? Both are the only sibling who have worked with Heath Ledger. Jake worked with Heath in Brokeback Mountain whereas Maggie worked with Heath in The Dark Knight, so the siblings must absolutely be grateful to work with Heath
@@15Candles that is crazy!
Nepotism is “receiving favoritism based on kinship.”
The people on this list may have received an audition based on their kinship, but that did not necessarily GET them the job.
Each of these people are actually talented.
Nepotism example: All of the Kardashians
The Kardashians' genius is in marketing. And a willingness to make idiots out of the public.
Getting the auditions is hardest part for normal people..😊😊
Well, the fact that they got the audition is already favoritism. Like in any other job, being selected for an interview from a mountain of applications is huge. And in many instances, people who have come 'recommended' through association have a much higher chance of landing the job, despite their possibly being someone more talented/skilled but obscure who applies. It is not a fair process.
@Emma N Why is it more problematic? Nothing would change even if they accepted it.
We’re really not going to mention Mariska Hargitay who is tv acting royalty & the daughter of Mickey Hargitay & Jayne Mansfield? Or how about Kiefer Sutherland son of Donald Sutherland & Shirley Douglas? I mean come on people!
At least Mariska and Kiefer can act..unlike some of the people on the list of why they are nepotism babies.
I am not at the end of the video yet, but I'm going to be really ticked off if Bryce Dallas Howard doesn't show up on the list.
@@eshim3961 hope u weren't too ticked off
@@carrieharrington3045 That's your opinion, not fact.
Too many to list.
Bryce Dallas Howard, Liza Minelli, Ben Stiller, Mamie Gummer, Gwenyth Paltrow would all be deserving to be on this list. Hopefully Wolfgang Van Halen makes it because he is super talented and deserves to be well known for his skills (nominated for a grammy for his first album that he wrote and played every instrument on)
Gwyneth Paltrow?!?!! I don’t think you have watched any of her movies recently

Maybe they don't deserve their fame
How do Kiefer Sutherland and the Sheen Brothers not even get mentioned is beyond me
Or Drew Barrymore who is from the world's oldest acting dynasty.
They left out a lot of other celebrity kids: Drew Barrymore (daughter of John Barrymore and goddaughter of Steven Spielberg), Jason Schwartzman (son of Talia Shire and nephew of Francis Ford Coppola), Kaia Gerber (daughter of Cindy Crawford), Nicholas Cage( son of August Coppola and nephew of Francis Ford Coppola), Kiefer Sutherland (son of Donald Sutherland), Gwyneth Paltrow (daughter of Blythe Danner), Jason Reitman (son of Ivan Reitman), and Rashida Jones (daughter of Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones)
The Barrymore are a acting family predating Hollywood.
So Drew in a way you'd call Hollywood royalty , those acting roots run deep.
But she is likeable and talented so being a Barrymore has never been a substantial part of the career she built on her own even though it opened doors for her as a child star.
She's built her own legacy.

I'm all for nepotism when it's with talented people
Barrymore, Estevez/Sheen, Carradine ?! There's so many more that should have been on this list over Billy Ray and his daughter
Maude Apatow also deserves the fame, she's the daughter of two comedy icons, Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow, with her breakout role as Lexi Howard in HBO's Euphoria, and fans praise the character and her acting.
Lmaoooo her acting is literally hated on
Nah
She doesn't do much in Euphoria lmao
She doesn't have the talent to be acting in roles that she only landed because of her parents.
@@sarcasticallyrearrangedwhat about Maude's sister Iris?
There is one person and the only person that should have been number 1 on this list and that is LIZA MINNELLI!!!! To not have even mentioned her... the nerve! I mean I sometimes hate using the word nepotism when it comes to Liza, because shes insanely talented. But let's call it what it is. Her parents definitely opened that door for her. But can you imagine how hard it is to forge your path in the world when your mother is Judy Garland, someone who was so immeasurably talented. The difference with Liza and so many other nepotism babies is that she has the talent. You can have the most famous parents in the world, but that wont guarantee you longevity in the industry. Y'all are wildin' leaving Liza out from this list.
Really?! Really?! Not a single mention of Drew Barrymore? Not only does she come from the oldest acting family in the history of entertainment. She has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame near THREE of her relatives.
Oldest acting family in history? Well, then what about the Chaplins? Charles, Geraldine, Victoria, Christopher?
@@shiraz9986 The early Barrymore’s were famous stage actors dating back to the 18th century
@@Jason8823 ok but there are still centuries before the 18th century right?
You mentioned Lenny Kravitz but forgot to mention his mom Roxie Roker, from The Jefferson’s!
And Al Roker is his mom’s cousin
Dude. He was the worst kind of black famous. 4 almost a decade; his fame/talent was questioned way 2 hard 2 ever b a nepotism hire.
I agree with you. I think that a lot of people don't realize how talented she was. I did a quick Wikipedia search of her. I forgot that she was nominated for a Tony for her performance in "The River Niger." It was a revolutionary production.
I always found it ironic that so many gifted, successful (especially) stage actors (and actresses) are remembered for their most "light weight" performances. Producers like Norman Lear frequently raided Broadway for a lot of his stars. There is a huge list: Esther Rolle, Roxie Roker, Sherman Hemsley, and Robert Guillaume. But also, Beatrice Arthur, Jean Stapleton, Angela Lansbury (yeah, she was nominated for two or three Oscars, but she has won more Tony's than almost any other actress. I think that Audra Macdonald and Julie Harris are the only actresses with more.
@@peacekeeperbabe what do you mean by that?
Riley Keough (Elvis Presley’s granddaughter) should have been on this list.
You missed the entire Coppola family. Sofia (as a writer director, not actor) and Nic Cage should be on this list.
Also, Talia Shire (Connie in Godfather) who is Francis Coppola's sister. Ironically, Talia asked to be given a chance to play Connie and Francis refused her because he thought she was too beautiful to play Connie (the book described Connie as rather homely). She begged him to let her try out some scenes and she was so good he had to say yes.
And of course, the Carradines, the Redgraves, the Baldwins and the Livelys.
How could you possibly omit Mariska Hargatay? 23 years playing the same character? How did MZ. Mojo make such an egregious omission.
She’s been mentioned a couple of times.
Tracy Ellis ross definitely belongs on the list 💯🙂
I think she should have been higher up on the list. She has such talent, grace and charisma. And imagine having to build a career when you're being compared to your mother. She has been able to make a name completely her own. I love that

I only consider it nepotism if the person receiving the benefit is unqualified or otherwise undeserving. These people would be stars even without their connections.
I think Phil Collins is so much more than 80s music sensation... That man is an icon and should be regarded as such.
I think it’s not to my liking completely, Michael Douglas is ranked too low, he or Jane Fonda or Liza Minnelli should be #1. Michael Douglas and Jane Fonda are the only Children of AFI lifetime honorees that have been honored as well. Although Angelina definitely deserves to be near the top of the list.
I feel like John David Washington should be here.
I never he is the son of the goat of Denzel Washington until I watched Malcolm and Marie....he's good actor tho.
I hoped Mariska Hargitay would be on this list. Maybe on the next installment, because she absolutely earns her spot in front of the cameras.
JANE IS PROUD OF HER
Not sure if you're aware of the meaning of nepotism. An egregiously classic case for nepotism would be Jaden Smith.
Or Brooke Hogan, Hulk Hogan's daughter. Her music and dancing is atrocious.
you missed the keyword "deserved"
@@Thaik22 Holy cow I did totally missed that. Thanks so very much for pointing that out to me. You forgot-Bridget Jane Fonda Elfman (born January 27, 1964) is an American former actress. She is known for her roles in The Godfather Part III (1990), Single White Female (1992), Singles (1992), Point of No Return (1993), It Could Happen to You (1994), and Jackie Brown (1997). She is the daughter of Peter Fonda, niece of Jane Fonda, and granddaughter of Henry Fonda. Fonda was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing Mandy Rice-Davies in the 1989 film Scandal and provided the voice for Jenna in the 1995 animated feature film Balto. She received an Emmy Award nomination for the 1997 TV film In the Gloaming, and a second Golden Globe Award nomination for the 2001 TV film No Ordinary Baby.
You can add her cousin, Troy Garrity (son of her aunt Jane Fonda) on the list.

Drew Barrymore, Liza Minelli, Keifer Sutherland, the Sheens, the Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Isabella Rossellini , to name a few off the top of my head.
Ron Howard deserves number one. His father was a character actor who took his sons on set. Ron went from child actor to award winning director. His daughter is talented too.
Ron's brother Clint starred in Gentle Ben on TV and is also a character actor in movies.

I agreed.
Re: Billie Lourde - her father is one of the top agents in Hollywood - Brian Lourde one of the founders of CAA. This is likely who is getting Billie work. Also, in the scene from Booksmart there is another actress by the name of Beanie Feldstein. Also a nepotism kid, recently of Funny Girl. Brother is Jonah Hill, dad is Richard Feldstein, founding partner of the largest entertainment management business. As for Liza Minnelli, who should top this list, it was her dad Vincente Minnelli who was responsible for her career because of his status in Hollywood, not Judy (who did gift her with talent). Her sister Lorna Luft has a much better voice, but her dad Sid Luft wasn't as powerful as Vincente. I think the focus here was on too many younger "stars" so that Liza and Nick Cage, Gwyneth Paltrow who are far more famous and successful were left out of the top 10. I'm surprised Michael Douglas was included!
I don’t know how y’all remember all these ppl if they don’t have the same last name, seems exhausting

Love how different the nepotism topic is handled in america. Unlike other countries they respect the fact that any parents in any field of work would like to push and support their children in whichever field they want. Americans also seem to understand the fact that they do open the doors of opportunity for them but its upto the kids to make it into the industry.
Spot on.
Bollywood nepotism comes to mind.I never understand the extreme disdain felt towards the star kids of Bollywood many of whom are actually good, qualified and talented.
Sure the family names open doors for them but they work hard and have carved their own niche in the industry.
Hollywood seems to be more sensible in its view towards entertainment industry nepotism.
@@zuraidazakaria7419 lol no.

Lily Collins is Phil Collins' daughter?!?!? WhaaaaaaaT?! I'm not familiar with her acting but I've seen her pretty face many times before and know her name. Good for her for building her career on her own to the point people like me didn't recognize she is the daughter of a major music legend. 👏 🙌 I didn't realize who Laura Dern's parents were either but I know who they are individually as actors from before the social media days. 😆 Same with Tracee Ellis Ross. @msmojo we need another list but next time another 20, there are plenty of unmentioned families they deserve their recognition
I love Bruce Dern! I know it’s a ridiculous movie but The Burbs is a classic comedy
What about Jack Quaid? His parents are Dennis Quaid & Meg Ryan, and they're pretty prominent actors if not legendary. I first noticed him in The Hunger Games and although he didn't change his surname I think he tried to get roles of his own accord even when he struggled and his parents offered to use their connections. A lot of people love The Boys. Ya really could have made the Honourable Mentions list longer or you could make a Part 2.
Oh. Someone just brought me back to this video, and I thought of someone else originally famous for their relationship to a family member who, clearly, deserved recognition for their own work.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was originally his famous father, Leopold, trotting him around the circuit, much like Will Smith keeps trying to do with his progeny, except Mozart was actually good.
Certainly there are many others, such as Gene Lockhart, June Lockhart, Anne Lockhart. Lionel Barrymore, Ethyl B., Drew Barrymore. Clint Eastwood, Scott Eastwood. Tex Ritter, John Ritter, Jason Ritter. Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus. And more...
Lily Rose Depp. She was excellent in The King, and from the looks of it, The Idol is shaping up to be interesting.
This really could have been a top 20 or top 30 list. So many were left out! I see many of them in the comments, but given the 80's movies are a fav of mine... let's not forget Emilio Estevez & Charlie Sheen, both sons of Martin Sheen as well.
