About 20 years ago my sister and I went to see a play with Hugh Jackman, we waited at the end to see if we could see him. There were only about 5 or 6 people waiting in the cast exit with us. When he came out my sister (an architect and artist) asked him if he could sign her sketchbook. He replied only if he could see her sketches hahaha. My sister replied yes and he spent over 5 min looking in the book and asking her questions about her drawings. After he finished he asked if he could keep one and chose a drawing of a building and asked my sister to sign and date it for him after that he signed with a long note her book. My sister to this days keeps that message about creativity and inspiration framed in her office. BTW I only got a picture and a handshake with him hahahaha. He is a Class Act!
Keanu Reeves also had a tragic childhood and even losing his girlfriend and stillborn child on car accident. But he didn't give up and maintain humble.
He also frequently called Steven Spielberg to make him laugh while he was working on “Schindler’s List”, which was so emotionally draining for him to direct.
Robin was a shining star in everyone’s lives even if we didn’t know him personally. He was that uncle who told you dirty jokes but also could be that comforting figure
He and Christopher Reeves went to school together. They promised that they would take care of each other if anything happened, and they had the means to do so. True to his word, Williams made sure Reeves had the best care money could buy. Who knew that so much joy on the outside could be masking so much pain on the inside.
What’s so wild to me is all the hardships Keanu has faced and yet the main is a saint. I don’t understand how life hasn’t broken him, he’s gotta be one of the closest things to a superhuman that actually exists
As a fellow Canadian… love this Ryan Reynolds- Canadian Michael J Fox- Canadian Keanu Reeves - Lebanese, raised in Canada Brendan Fraser- American, raised in Canada Guess we’re upholding the “nice” stereotype! And from Canada South- Hugh Jackman is Australian but I met him after a Boy From Oz matinee- amazing man, so gracious!
Brendan Fraser, Keanu Reeves, Chris Pratt, Robin Williams, Angela Lansbury, James Woods, Bruce Campbell are the nicest celebrities, they respect their fans in real life!
Michael J. Fox is one of the kindest celebrities I've ever met. For instance, my husband purchased a photo op for me at a comic book convention. When it came time for my photo op with Mr. Fox, he noticed my little brother (who didn't have a ticket) was waiting behind the curtain. He asked who that was, I told him, and he invited my little brother in with my photo op. He made sure we made it safely to pick up the photo since he saw I am disabled. Mr. Fox gave me a hug and told me to never give up.
Awesome list. My faves are Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Hugh Jackman, Paul Rudd, Ryan Reynolds and Michael J Fox. All of them the sweetest human beings on planet earth. So charming, caring, compassionate, generous and far beyond the good. I wish people would be more kind on this planet. It's full of arrogance and ignorance. This list made me genuinely happy!
...michael fox got dealt a tough hand but to spend your life asking people to finance research to cure your disease is shaky at best, especially when you are a multi millionaire...
I used to work for the Toronto International Film Festival. Often famous actors would leave venues out of back and side exits with TIFF staff after screenings to avoid being bombarded. I've heard stories where Keanu would cheekily sneak away from staff to deliberately exit the front of the venues to spend extra time with fans. I think it just eventually just became expected.
Dolly Parton should be on the list. Besides her genuine friendly personality, she has invested in helping her community in many ways, including vaccine research, giving free books to young children, and helping wildfire victims to reconstruct their homes. Plus, she has a great rags-to- riches story! Also, LaVar Burton who has encouraged generations of children to read and is on the Board of the AIDS Research Alliance. Also, one of the warmest and friendliest actors. But I'm glad to see Jennifer Garner make the list!
I knew Brendan Fraser before he went into the movies, and so happy to see him on this list! He remains one of the kindest people I've ever known in my life. So glad to also see Ryan Reynolds, Michael J. Fox, Hugh Jackman and Julie Andrews on this list!! I'd like to add that Broadway actress Rachel York is a wonderful person and a sweetheart. After a performance, she talked with me for 20 minutes at the after show party. She's a doll!
met Dwayne quite a few years ago, he was filming Walking Tall in Surrey,Bc. myself, my friend, my brother&my dad were the only ppl there, he was late getting to set& even though he was being rushed by his security he spent bout an hour tossing a football around&telling us behind the scenes WWE stuff. really nice guy& so happy for everything that he has accomplished. well deserved
I used to work security at the Heinz Field admin lobby, and Denzel Washington showed up for a Steelers game while he was filming "Fences" here in Pittsburgh. Even though my encounter only lasted about 30 seconds, I remember him being SUPER kind and polite. He didn't look down on any of us, he was patient with the line, he even shook our hands, and used our names. And no, there were no cameras or press around so it wasn't like he was doing so just for image purposes. There were actually several famous who would come through that gate from time to time, usually if they were in town for a movie or other such project. I also remember Russell Crowe coming through our gate, and while he wasn't as openly friendly and smiley as Denzel, he also wasn't rude in any way. Believe me, I've SEEN celebrities act rude or entitled at the stadium, and there is a world of difference between being rude to some minimum wage security personnel, and just wanting to get into the stadium as smoothly as possible.
Keanu seems like such a sweetheart ❤️I’ve heard the amazing stores about he does for people and so I’m glad he is in top of the list 😊 same goes for Micheal, Mark ,Julie, Brendon, Ryan and Hugh who were also mentioned😁
I love that he is the best brand ambassador Star Wars could ever have and Harrison Ford could care less about the franchise. And it seems the right attitudes for both of their characters from the movies.
He's probably one of the top 2 or 3 nicest along with (I've read) Keanu & Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul. Henry Winkler was the nicest celebrity I've ever met.
I had a feeling either Keanu Reeves or Tom Hank would be number 1, As for Julie Andrews, she was giving out an award to David Tennat and he was shocked to meet her saying " I don't care what ever happen in my life I just meet Julie Andrews"
Keanu showed generosity and compassion beyond compare in Hollywood when he gave most of his paycheck of the Matrix sequels to the CGI people and the paycheck was about 50 Mill.
Although not mainly actors but have dabbled in the industry I would add John Cena with his Make-a-Wish work and Dolly Parton for being well just dolly. And one actor I would also add is Gary sinise who to this day is work with veterans whether through his foundation or his lieutenant Dan band has been amazing.
I had the pleasure of literally bumping into Michael J Fox in the 80's in NYC. I was literally rounding a corner and we collided. I quickly realized who he was and was in shock - I'm tall at 5'10" and I had my heels on. After he made sure I was ok, he was like wow, your tall with a huge smile on his face. He is such a sweet man.
And my favourite, Doug McClure of The Virginian. I never got to meet him, but everybody I met who worked with him said he was one of the nicest, caring actors in Hollywood, friendly with fans, too.
Any else notice that the nicest, kindest, Compassionate people have all battled life's harder situations and they still remain kind and humble and well nice
I love that Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't wear makeup, no matter what beautiful outfit she rocks.. She lets her wonderful mind & personality do their thaaang! She's the epitome of growing older gracefully 🤗
Liam Neeson is a doll and I hung out once with James a Gandolfini at a bar in NYC during his 1st season of Sopranos. I didn’t know who he was but my husband went nuts with excitement. Def Keanu!! It’s nice to see money didn’t get to their heads. I would love to meet Michael J Fox.
They're ALL amazing. But Michael J. Fox will ALWAYS hold a VERY special place in my heart. 💜💜💜💜 "It's always a thing of beauty, when Chance is on duty." 🐕 If you know, you know.
Sandra Bullock and Audrey Hepburn!💖 Not only beautiful but seemingly generous behind the scenes and both of them even put their careers on hold to spend time with their children.🌹
Tom Hanks-Big, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and Forrest Gump are my favorite movies. I was shocked when A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood didn't win the Oscar. He did a great job as Mr. Rogers.
Can we just agree how many sweet and kind actors are there in Marvel movies bc there's so many of them out there, including some of the OG Avengers actors, (I.E. Robert DowneyJr., Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, etc.) 😊😊
What about Chadwick Boseman? He was probably the closest actor in the MCU who was a real life superhero. While fighting cancer, he provided several children medical relief by donating money for cancer research, yet never complained about his condition, or didn't show up to the Marvel set without a smile. He was wonderful in every single role he was in, and loved his castmates a lot.
Yes. Definitely beloved by colleagues and fans. Also, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Would always sign autographs and talk to people, was humble and other actors loved working with him.
What about Emilia Clarke? She seems like such a sweet, genuine person. I call her a living, breathing, walking ray of sunshine for a reason! And I know that he is no longer with us, but you should have included Robin Williams.
Love these great actors, Keanu Reeves and Tom Hanks have always been my favourites! Ryan Reynolds Hugh Jackman and Michael J Fox too😍😍and what was Ben Affleck thinking? Giving up the fabulous Jennifer Garner for who???
"It's so wonderful to be associated with something that makes people so happy!" I think everyone of these stars would echo Mark Hamill's comment here. They're all great performers, but more importantly, they're great human beings.
I am sorry to burst your bubble because J.D can be charismatic, but it has been reported too many times that he has been very angry, confrontational and has been in a number of fistfights some of which he started.
I'm proud that three of these ten - Ryan, Michael and Keanu - are Canadian (Keanu not born here but raised here). We are generally known for politeness and caring.
I was waiting for Keanu to show up, I've heard so many stories about truly kind things he's done. One example I heard was how he met a random guy on the subway and then proceeded to take him out to eat and then treated him to an awesome day in New York City all on his dime. Reportedly they are still friends. Show me another Hollywood celebrity who has, or would do this. Yep Keanu for the win. Besides he's really a great actor and great to look at as well.
Robin Williams (RIP), Owen Wilson, Matthew Perry(RIP), Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Stanley Tucci, Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucy Liu, Angelina Jolie to name a few. I think there are truely a lot kind and lovable celebrities.
I had the opportunity of talking to Brendan Fraser on a virtual meet and greet for galaxy con. He was a childhood hero of mine and I’m happy to say that he still is. One that has Garner reputation for being one of the nicest actors in Hollywood I’ve heard is Gerard Butler, who will actually hang out with various cast and crew during breaks and insist that they call him Jerry if they have a hard time pronouncing his name Going to various conventions I’ve met a lot of nice celebrities, such as Peter Cullen, Anthony Michael Hall, Danny Trejo etc.

Morgan Freeman. What about him?
No Will Smith? That’s weird. He’s one of the best performers of all time. Let’s pretend the slap doesn’t existed.
So if you're showing The Rock, I assume that wrestlers who also act count, in which case John Cena should be #1
Doug Jones is insanely nice. He gives hugs and is very humble. He enjoys talking to people in general
So, 40% Canadian. That seems about right.

He sounds like a lovely man.
Keanu Reeves is the fisrt one to came up to my mind , you can't hate this man 😊
Yet Matthew Perry was snarky about him. I know that speaks poorly of Matt. Oh well. He dead.
He needs to be protected at all costs as well as Tom Hanks and everyone else on this list.
It's a bit more complicated than this, but he basically gave away $75 million in Matrix money to all of the everyday people who worked on the films.
I thought of him too
@@Ohboycommentsection Exactly. I will never understand why Matthew wrote that in his book. It's so unnecessarily hateful and cruel.
Keanu Reeves also had a tragic childhood and even losing his girlfriend and stillborn child on car accident. But he didn't give up and maintain humble.
wish i could hug him
R.I.P. to Robin Williams. He would always hire homeless people on the set of movies. He always helped people and avid philanthropist. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I learned that recently. Awesome 👍
He also frequently called Steven Spielberg to make him laugh while he was working on “Schindler’s List”, which was so emotionally draining for him to direct.
I didn't think of him but yes, I would think he would be there.... I think they focused on actors that were still alive.
Robin was a shining star in everyone’s lives even if we didn’t know him personally. He was that uncle who told you dirty jokes but also could be that comforting figure

Keanu Reeves, Michael J. Fox, Hugh Jackman, and Ryan Reynolds.
I literally LOVE those guys.
😄
was about to say the same ,adding also Tom Hanks . And i'm not suprised Keanu is in 1st place ,as it should be . He's the One after all 😁
Canadians ;-)
Jeff Bridges, Jeff Goldblum, Henry Winkler
Hugh Jackman is Australian
This celebration of kindness is so nice to see! Our world needs more people like these actors. Thank you for putting together such a positive list :)
Couldn't agree more!
Keanu is a testament to survival and endurance. His personal life was had terrible hits. But through it all hes kind.❤
As a fellow Canadian… love this
Ryan Reynolds- Canadian
Michael J Fox- Canadian
Keanu Reeves - Lebanese, raised in Canada
Brendan Fraser- American, raised in Canada
Guess we’re upholding the “nice” stereotype!
And from Canada South- Hugh Jackman is Australian but I met him after a Boy From Oz matinee- amazing man, so gracious!
Reeves holds only Canadian citizenship.
He was born in Lebanon- I didn’t say he was a citizen there.
You forget the other awesome Canadian actor - Jim Carey. Heard he's down-to-earth, unlike The Cable Guy.
Wolverine is Canadian, so Hugh Jackman gets an honourable mention.
Is Fraser a American ?
Brendan Fraser, Keanu Reeves, Chris Pratt, Robin Williams, Angela Lansbury, James Woods, Bruce Campbell are the nicest celebrities, they respect their fans in real life!
We need a movie with Brendan Frasier, Keanu Reeves and especially Johnny Depp in the leading roles.
Write the script and make it happen! 🙂
WHOLSOME REDDIT CHUNGUS MOMENT
Brendan, Keanu, Tom fight me.... although fighting seems wrong even in the same sentence with these fine men.
Yes please
Agreed, do a script,
Michael J. Fox is one of the kindest celebrities I've ever met. For instance, my husband purchased a photo op for me at a comic book convention. And a part 3 4 and 5❤
@@evelynneufeld7610Wow! That's exactly what I was going to say
My vote:
1. Keanu Reeves
2. Brendan Fraser
3. Henry Winkler
4. Tom Hanks
Sad not to see Robin Williams here, but this is still such a lovely list for a stressful day 😊
If he were still alive, he would have made the list for sure.
Brendan Frasier and Keanu Reeves should do a movie together. They'll both enjoy working together on set.
We need more people like this is the entertainment business.
Keanu is a saint! I can never say that enough!

So charming, caring, compassionate, generous and far beyond the good. I wish people would be more kind on this planet. It's full of arrogance and ignorance. This list made me genuinely happy!
Michael J Fox is an awesome guy. Love his work in Family Ties, Casualties Of War, Teen Wolf and of course Back To The Future Trilogy.
And his advocacy for Parkinson’s is beyond admirable. Plus he is so adorable when he rarely shares family moments with Tracy and their girls
"Casualties of War" I've not thought about that movie in a long time. It was so good.
Casualties of war is so underrated! A heartbreaking movie. Such a shame fox got parkinsons, bad stuff happens to good people
His episode on Curb is my favorite.

How was Betty White not on this list? Even though she died, she should still have at least an honorable mention.
I agree.
@@christinecremen4151 _Actors in Hollywood_ implies actors in the film industry. White is known for her work in television.
Appeared to be a tad phoney!

Nice these people you mentioned are the furthest thing from nice
Love this top10 list guys as I gives you a walm fuzzy feeling.
I had the opportunity of talking to Brendan Fraser on a virtual meet and greet for galaxy con.
He was a childhood hero of mine and I’m happy to say that he still is.
One that has Garner reputation for being one of the nicest actors in Hollywood I’ve heard is Gerard Butler, who will actually hang out with various cast and crew during breaks and insist that they call him Jerry if they have a hard time pronouncing his name
Going to various conventions I’ve met a lot of nice celebrities, such as Peter Cullen, Anthony Michael Hall, Danny Trejo etc.
Danny Trejo should be on this list. 🥺
@@sheilaevans3770 yeah, he is such an amazing dude. Very humble.
Unfortunately he is not with us anymore. But Alan Rickman was so sweet in real life.
Johnny Christopher Depp is a nice guy who dont get enough praise
What about Ke Huy Quan? That dude is a ray of sunshine with his infectious positive energy. 😁
Robert Englund/Freddy Krueger needs to be on here. Tara Strong even though she's in hot water right now. And Bun B of UGK
