This video is wonderful!!
Thank you Ana!
This video was incredibly helpful! I used your code to purchase leafgel products and did my first manicure today. My nails look and feel great! One question that came up - do you clean the brushes with rubbing alcohol ? I didn't buy enough brushes for each step (base, builder gel, color, top coat) and was hoping some rubbing alcohol b/w steps would do the trick. ty!
Hey! awesome, thank you so much! In a pinch I will wipe my brush off with alcohol. But over time this will dry out the hairs of the brush. It's best to eventually get a brush cleaner, I really like the kookiest one, I do believe Zillabeau sells them as well. They will keep the bristles of the brush nice and soft, while also cleaning the gel off the brush. Hope that helps :)
@@yougotnails Thank you so much for your quick reply! That was very, very helpful! I'll get that with my next order along with additional brushes- I really loved the one you suggested, too! Thank you :)
Obviously I know this is a personal question but which brand preforms best for nailart? Don’t know which brand I should start heavily invest in. Thanks for any help!
Hi! It’s not personal for me. I wouldn’t heavily invest in any brand until you try a few out, just in case you don’t like the formula or working with the product. In terms of nail art, do you mean drawing and painting designs? If so I think Leafgel is great to try and start out with.
Do you do fill ins with this combination or do you soak off and re-apply?
So if I am doing a fill, I will take my drill and just file off the color and remove any lifting if there is any. And prep the mail to do a fill and do the same combination! Soaking off I think would damage the nail over time with the acetone and having to prep the same area of the nail over and over. This way when you are doing a fill, you only have to lightly sand the new growth. Hope that helps!
Do you think it would be okay to use regular gel polish over a gel overlay? I have leafgel products to do my gel overlays, but I’ve never use regular gel polishes like gelish over them and wondered if it would work.
Good question! You definitely could, although I think they dull easily and will eventually chip. Are you sure the gelish is regular polish? I always thought they only carried gel unless I’m wrong .
@@yougotnails I did mean gel polish by gelish. I’ve just never used bottled gel polish on my overlay nails, I’ve only used the potted colors that my Leafgel set came with.
@@na_nonapplicable okay no worries, yes the bottled gel polish would be perfectly fine to use.
Would it be ok to mix kokoist and leafgel- for example: megastick base > leafgel sculpting > 2 kokoist and leafgel colors mixed together > kokoist top
So it’s not ideal, since each of those systems are designed to be used with their own bases and gels. I wouldn’t, just because you can’t be sure they will work well together or last as long.
@@yougotnails thank you!!
