My buddy has a '13 Cascadia with a DD15 & that engine blew up on him THREE times! The original engine blew cylinder 5, the used engine blew cylinder 5 & he had it FULLY rebuilt with everything brand new. It pushed oil out between the front of the head/block area, started knocking & spun a bearing at 60K miles. This engine is pure JUNK! I'll take a Cummins ISX before I ever own one of these.

Does Freightliner Cascadia 2017 has a safety shutoff if engine does not get oil ? my engine locked due to lack of oil in the housing but no Warning lights came on and consequently truck did not shut itself off - appreciate your help with this question
Love your video's bro. We've been finding oil suction manifolds on our trucks with loose plastic piece or little door falling off the side resulting in low oil pressure.one actually seized.😒
All this new oil filter technology plastic top oil filter housings and centers no substitute for a good old-fashioned spin-on metal oil filter Volvo has the best oil filtration system on a diesel truck two full flow oil filters and one bypass three oil filters combined that's a good setup 💯
I'm wondering 🤔 Engine failed after oil pan gasket repair,but you found a broken bypass valve.so did they break the bypass valve when they replaced the oil pan gasket?help me understand the connection.😕
Saul good question. Improper workmanship allowed excess dirt to enter oil system. Customer also stated that the PM was done as well. Usually oil is changed after an oil pan replacement, the broken standpipe should have been noticed during filter change. Thanks for watching. Good question
Most likely put the sump back up then removed the oil filter which would let about 1 litre of dirty oil in the sump then they probably cranked it with no oil pressure for a long time due to fuel filter replacement after 100 kilometres down the road the crank locks up

Hello, I just finished doing a inflame overhaul I also have a dd15 2013 cascadia, my issue is that when I took it for a test drive I went thru 2nd 3rd 4th gear but when I got to 5 gear the lost all power even with my food on pedal straight down to the floor and now is doing it on 4th and 5th gear, can you give me any printer on what it might be? Hello. I have DD15 Freight liner. I just did a suction tube, oil pump and o-ring. The truck was test ride and it only went one mile. At first it was running good then ruff. Cut off within the one mile and it won’t start up it sounds like it want to. I did a computer test no codes coming back. The oil light and red engine light comes on. What do u think is wrong. Miles 800000

The Mechanic open each and every pice of the Engine top and bottom... he change all the Ring and baring of all pistons and be clean the piston he put everything together.. but I still scared to take the Truck on the Road.. I felt a little change on the Sound of the Engine plus the Oil pressure is acting wired... if I do less than 70 mph the oil pressure gauge stays on 50 if I do 75 mph and above the oil pressure gauge is going up to 60 .... can you please help with some information why it’s doing that?? And what do I need to do to prevent the Engine not to be blocked....????
i had a co-worker who thought the "low oil pressure stop engine" light was just a sensor and tried to pull it into the shop. locked it up in the parking lot i pulled the starter off and confirmed it was locked up. customer never fixed it with us though
This truck got towed in low oil pressure codes and very low oil pressure codes.. hmm it’s got oil, sensor looks good, motor not turning over.. yea it’s locked up. Oh what’s that you say it had a new oil pan put on 10 days ago hmmm
A lot of issues come from the oil pump seizing up due to lack of oil changes. Engine oil breaks down and the additives that are required losses it’s efficiently over time. Doing a 30k oil change interval is NOT good as the oil will be of no use. Use the proper engine that is used by the manufacturer and go to a reputable service center that carries good products.
Agreed. Also, some manufacturers overestimate how long their oil will last. Back in the 2000s, Toyota had 3.0L V6 engines dying of sludge. They called for 5000 mile conventional oil changes, but those engines sludged up. Many people would insist on 3000 mile oil changes and were less likely to have the problem.
What is low pressure during idle? I have a cascadia that idles at around 12 psi and around 6 rpms. I canceled the idle management cause the rpms were way too high. Now I don't worry about my trk shutting down during the night.
When idling your DD15 engine should run at about 700 RPMs or better. When you are parked and your cruise control is turned off bump the engine up using the ACL/RES button on the steering wheel. That is the lowest your truck should idle during a break. Your oil pressure gauge should be no lower than about 21 PSI or you may have an oil flow problem. I don't like the oil pressure gauge on Cascadia model trucks as they do not indicate what low oil pressure is.
How was this caused by POOR WORKMANSHIP ? Do you change the BYPASS VALVE or STAND PIPE while doing an oil change ? I'm ignorant when it comes to these engines, T.Y.

I've got a dd15 ,and when I get my oil changed I always put a gallon of Lucas oil stabilizer in to keep the seals soft.

What can cause high oil psi I run 60 psi around 1500 rpm and 50 psi at 1000!rpm
The oil pressure will rise when the rpm is increased.
