Coolant kills more engines than oil. Great video. Seen it if a JD as well. 7700 hrs and kits looked perfect due to oil changes. No coolant maintenance led to pin holes in the sleeves for a premature rebuild. Fluids are not cheap but a lot cheaper than engine parts. Dump them frequently.
I just disagree with wasting money on changing to ones that test fine as long as everything looks good on the test there is no need to change things out.

Yes. There were 14L 60 Series Detroit engines built without EGR prior to 2004 for on highway vehicles. They were 550 horse with 1850 torque. It was the same block as the 12.7 just had a different crank and rod.
Mane I done changed the radiator, thermostat, coolant flush, turbocharger cooler, fan clutch, and it’s still running a lil hot but not anything like before.
We recommend repairing any oil or fuel leaks that is falling on the highway. This is a FMCSA violation and will cause safety violation on the carrier’s safety score trigging a safety audit.

Will you go over the different rebuild kit for the Detroit 12.7? Like the OEM Detroit or interstate McBee, the alliance kit

What about changing coolant filters
How often ?
Coolant filters are recommended to change once per year. Usually during coolant interval service . Coolant strip testers are very useful
The coolant filter can become seized once corrosions has built around the housing.
I heard that a coolant filter should be changed every 20k mi like a fuel filter. They're cheap.
