how to know if your DD15 engine cylinder liner is broken before removing it internal inspection

Can we bring this DD15 back from zero compression? This is why valve adjustments are important.

Again Francisco has absolutely the best videos buy the way he goes right to the video and doses explain why the issues happen - I am no longer in truck but I still like Francisco’s videos and recommend them to my owner operator friends!
Thank you Francisco.
I've learned so much on Dd15 engines, watching your videos.
Similar issue with a DD15; loss of compression in cyl6 blown head gasket between cyl 3 and 4...truck was running ok but sounded like it had a miss and would frequently tick an Intake manifold pressure over boost code. Keep up the good work chingon!
I've seen dd15 with 1 million miles with a dpf delete. Could be just your luck... Great video.
how much Is the delete
@Anita Martini dallas or Houston..i have a 2018 may want to get a delete later on...
@@dell7054 I seen them from 1,500 full delete no check engine light all legit work. But here in California u have CHP doing inspections with smog devices.
Abolish the EPA!!!!
Thank You for the videos it helps out a lot
I have a 2010 deleted and I haven’t had any issues
Your videos are great. The only thing I wish was said is "DD 15 with 346,000 miles or DD15 with 932,841 miles" It would be very bad if you said " DD 15 with 134,279 miles"
It’s bc the valves need to be adjusted. I get mine adjusted once a year. And yea my 579 is deleted and has over a million miles on it and still kicking
I deleted my dd15 the engine blew a month later….. I will never do another delete…. That was 3 trucks ago….. been running my other dd15 to 900 k plus miles then selling them…..but I shortened my maintenance intervals……. Been working out so for..
Hi it happened to me 4 month ago and the truck been park since then I was planning to do overhaul but I looked up I saw that it will happen again cause dEF is deleted so do recommend me to install DEF system back and change the head or overhaul
I have a 2010 with a DD15 and it has the same problems. I was told that I shouldn't delete the EGR valve to avoid this problem happening again.
Did it work?
thanks
my 2014 cascadia dd 15 has the same problem but a little different like 5th or 6th cilinder there is black smoke between head and cilinder so what do you think it there intake gaskate some thing?please let me know thank you for your time
I have the same noise. But not that loud. Runs good. Should I be concerned ?
what happened
Sounds like a John Deere 1939 model A
Thanks
I believe Yo right cause the delite the DPF Systems cause internal issues in the Engine, for injection timing. Or the quantity of fuel.👍
Yha right, I had the same problem without deleting engine.
Up to I know, once we delete the DEF system, the speed is faster, because I believe mechanics have to delete some system including some sensors , and the drivers take advantage of the speed and the engine can't support it, and that's what happens, the recomedetion is to government the speed, well that what I hear from different mechanics.
I have the valve leak developing on my dd15. No Def delete here. Faulty design I'm thinking.
Where are u located
I have a 2017 DD15 Frieghtliner Cascadia which have almost 783k miles. It has same issue except there is no smoke and the loud sound is not intense. I was told that the cylinder head valve needs to be changed. What route do you recommend. Just change the Cylinder head or do a complete overhaul.
What did u do?
Same issue for me
@@billoodeannew head is required or a valve job.
so rest of the bottom engine is ok? after this problem.? or you have to do inframe?
a inframe overhaul is always recommended
I have 2014 dd15 same problem.after I start it it does for quite time until the temperature gauge get 100 F. It’s Number 6 cylinder
Did you find out the problem
I am having the same problem
Please I need help if you fixed
Term for that is "Swallowed valve". When was overhead last time done? As someone already asked this question.
Unknown, since the was bought in that condition.
Exactly i just deleted DPF delete and i got same issue in 1 day
Did they do their valve adjustments when they were supposed to ?
It doesn't matter if you do the valve adjustments on these sometimes. Detroit had a bad run of heads and valves in 14 and 15 and they are going to fail around the 540 to 620k mileage. Theres 6 people I know plus me that have the same year and mileage truck and all of them need new heads because of this issue. We all do our overheads yearly
@@devilman3136 good to know
Great service
The delete file probably changed the tune on the engine creating too much cylinder tempature.
They have titanium valves you can replace the original valves with that stronger 💪 that probably will be able to handle the pressure
A DPF delete wont cause that issue. Owners Don't take the truck to get Valve Adjustment (overhead). they run the truck for years and years just doing oil change. and after a delete they start blaming everything on the delete when its their own fault for lack of maintenance.
I have a 2010 dd15 and it just started doing that noise but only once or twice when (or depending if I stay in high rpm)I'm in 8 or 9 gear at 15,000 or higher rpm.
Could it be the beginning of bad valve?
Get the overhead adjusted see if that fix it.
Where are your shop ,I had the same issue white smoke.I had email to you before for your shop address .but no response !Can you send me address when you aren’t busy!thank you
a water pump runs about the same price on dd15 that's ironic jaja
I have this problem but after the engine warms up, the sound goes away and the engine starts running smooth again. Why is that?
the valve is heating up and probably seals better once at operating temperature
I have the same
What was your solution?
@@126BEM what was your solution? My truck just started
@@jason22landry i had to change the head, 2 valves from cylinder no 3 - intake ware defective. They get thinner and they don’t seat well. I bought a new head for 5200$, new gasket kit $1200 and woth labor I had a total of aprox $9000+.
Don’t drive it like this cuz if one valve will fall on top of the piston you will have to have a full rebuild!!! Go and fix it! My truck it a 2017 and the head was more expensive, of you have an older model you might get away with 2400$ for a new head! Btw I wait 1 week to get the head, they short on parts:/ !
Be aware guys!
I start having this problem after useing a engine cleaner(flush) that you run for 20 min in a wormed oil. After 1-2 weeks i start having the noise, the solution might washed away some deposits from the valve seats or it’s just a confusion!
I got a Volvo d13 that I’m looking to get deleted.
First guy said $2500 and all he does is put a emulator on it.
Second guy said $3500 and programs the computer.
Does anyone know which is better and why
Go with emulator, it’s not good to computer program Volvo engine they will block all codes including engine codes in your dash board. Emulator only turns off DPF system
@@253FreakCar thanks for responding, does the engine run hotter with emulator, or increase power or fuel consumption like every one says
@@alexandertakele6136 with computer programming they disable EGR and retune engine which is why it’ll run hot if not done correctly. Emulator is just shutting off DPF and SCR everything else runs the way it always will
@@253FreakCar I had a 2013 Volvo with d13 few years ago. i noticed it started running hot a few month after the delete with the emulator, that’s why I was asking
valve exos
Smh, man those engines was devily designed. Meaning that demons put they heads together to create such engine. That suckah was made to be a problem and trying to undo on it is even more problems. Lord have mercy.
They wanted it to do is job and don't buy it because it's job is to have problems....
Diesels are good engines but emissions takes away diesel and basically turned them into other type of engines. Probably good for cars but not everyday trucking.
Hey an engine with emissions is the best. Unless you get it a new truck keep it til warranty goes out, leave emissions engines alone....
DD15 is the worst engine so far.
Esos motores son una basura!!!!!
DD15 is junk
Thanks
