      Thank you, Building my own arcade has been a dream of mine. Trying to work out every "type" of machine. I like flashy arcades, and knew I wanted to be able to play multiple games on each.

    Nice setup. It is awesome that you were able to tie in the trackball and guns for your Mame cabinet. I always wondered if that would work. Also your pinball, driving rig, and gun cabinet are great. You have the best of everything under one roof!

    I love your stuff! I've looked around for any kind of part list for with your mame cab or pinball machine, but could not really find if you have that sort of stuff laid out. I just finished a preliminary build of my virtual pinball machine, but now I'm exploring adding the leds, nudging, plunger and solenoids. Any info on what parts you picked up for that would be wildly helpful. Thanks in advance!

    • @donannis
      @donannis  6 років тому

      Thank you :) For the pinball, I used a 46" TV, 26" back monitor, PIN2DMD for the dot matrix display. Zebsboards.com digital/analog plunger, buttons from paradisearcadeshop, 12v solinoids from ebay, 8 channel sainsmart usb relay board to turn on and off the solinoids, LEDwiz to control LED Flashers. soldered ledflasher RGB myself from pinball forums. Addressable 5v RGB strip lighting from ebay, and arduino nano to control them.

      Also 5 Exciters and a secondary sound cart to control the Surround Sound Feedback 3D sound internally. and like 3 2.0 mini amps

      @@donannis Thanks for your reply! Would you mind telling me what solenoids you picked up and if you think it is worth it to have them in there? Could you also let me know the computer setup you are running? I have a modest PC running the show now, but I am open to exploring better if it actually yields a better experience. Also now that you have everything done, would you have done anything different with regards to hardware? Thanks again for your help/insight!

      @@EpikYeti It makes the pinball sound very realistic, that with a combinations of Surround Sound Feedback. I'd put them in again if I was making another. any 12v solenoid will work, but I put the one I used below. also, you can use different materials for it to slap against to get the sound you want. I have the plungers thunking against wood, the slingshots hit plastic wire hangers, and the bumpers hit metal angle fasteners. gives it all the correct sounds, at least in my opinion . i'm using a pc with an i5 in it, and a gtx 780 off craigslist I bought for 100 dollars. and it works great. If I was to do it again, i'd do it with a 4k monitor and higher graphics card to support the 4k. But the 780 is perfect for a 1080p display.

    Geez....I don't think my wife would ever see me if I had an arcade room like THAT in our basement. I just got my feet wet building my own sit-down style arcade cabinet to play some of my favorite games from the 70s and 80s (having a ball with it), and have been researching a bit on virtual pinball machines. What emulator do you use with yours, and is it as difficult as it looks to me so far to find particular ROMs?

    • @donannis
      @donannis  4 роки тому

      I had to litterally build my own mancave downstairs in the cellar before my wife gave her blessing, I had to make her a big clothes closet, but I also made a wet bar.. , otherwise It wouldn't be in the house. I use pinballX as the front end and vpinball, pinballfx and a few others. ;)
