In this video, I show you how I get my trimmer open and restring it. However, I am not a professional and I am using a string that is too big for this model. A nice viewer pointed out where I've made mistakes so his post is copied here to help you see where I went wrong. Thank you PerryWesthaus1537. He says, " "@perrywesthaus1537: The spool knob is getting stuck because the nylon monofilament line is loaded incorrectly. At the 4.00-minute point in the video, the line is loaded "into one of these grooves" on the outside part of the spool. This is not correct and will cause the spool to bind, as you already discovered. The correct procedure is outlined on pages 7 - 8, steps 5a and 5b of the free online factory manual for the Black and Decker model ST4500. One of two small holes on the INSIDE part of the spool should be used to start the nylon line, and will result in smoother operation of the bump-feed mechanism."

Thank you for that, I'll check into that. I know my string is way too big for this model and spool so I'm trying to make it fit. I'll update my description to include that. I'm not an expert, just a boomer making do with what I have.
