Grasshog weed wacker by Black & Decker EASY FIX!

Supposably Black & Decker have stopped making the replacement spool for their Grass Hog weed wacker. So I tried to figure out a way to replace the thread because I actually like this machine and I'm pretty used to it so I'd like to keep it. Hopefully this little fact helps you out because I know it's helped me. Enjoy!

They make adapters that allow the use of the new B&D 20V lithium batteries on my stack of old 18V tools. I've got 2 adapters and several new batteries. Given my old tools a new life!

Dig it. Though wish I could just pop on a bump head. I only use mine for edging the driveway. Have a greenworks corded *beast* for everything else.

Interesting. I’m thinking about making a bunch of short lengths of trimmer line with a square knot in the end, and then feed two or more of them through the spool, and have about three or four of these ready at all times to switch out.
Has anyone out there tried a “Speedfeed 400” on their Black & Decker Grass Hog?

I frequently get vines and weeds tangled under the spooler head. How do I get them out - and how do I remove the head to clean it? I'm going to try your method of eliminating the spool also. Thank you.

Interesting, u also could have drilled one hole and twist 2 around each other and feed.
