Justin Lauria First video I've been able to land every trick, woohoo! Wrap around barely. I think standing rail stand flip looks coolest. Thanks Justin, keep 'em coming! 🤘🏄💨
Nice man! I almost fully agree with you, but there's just something about the nose stall to fakie caveman that makes me a little bit happier haha. Great to hear from you btw!
Those are the Nike SB Dunk Highs! My second favorite shoe of all time, second to the Adio Kenny Anderson V2 which is no longer in production :( They're designed like basketball shoes, so they have a good amount of padding and provide really good stability (near impossible to roll your ankle in these shoes). Drawbacks for some people: they're heavy and lack board-feel. I'm so glad you picked up skateboarding! You're going to have a blast :) I will keep making videos like this (in fact, I'm working on one right now that is quite similar and it will be my next upload!) Peace out!
Dude when he said “my name is Justin Lauria” I really thought he was gonna follow with a “And I’m a professional skater from the San Francisco area” I’ve seen other comments with the same experiences
I’m entering an actual depression because I can’t ollie. Everybody says it’s so easy and to be a real skater you have to ollie. And it’s not even the ollie it’s than I can pop up while on my board
I was kinda like that and than deadass landed my first one today, I recommend really focus on slamming the tail as hard as you can to practice the motion, because the tail flying up is what kicks the board in the air
Tbh, when i practiced ollies on concrete i fell 3 times so hard on my fricking ellbows, if you land incorrectly the board just rapidly flys away. How am I supposed to learn it without falling so often? I am stuck
I wa going to get a slushee one day with my sis and the cross walk had the hand and I picked up my board and it hit my groin so fricking hard I fell to the ground
I'm noticing so many new skaters are obsessed with learning the ollie as their first trick. Some even want to get into skateboarding just so that they can ollie. Always good to learn some basic tricks first. When I first started skating in the mid 1980s, I wasn't even aware of the ollie. I started skating because it looked like fun, not to obsess over learning a particular trick. Ollies came later.
Maybe because it's the most important thing for a beginner to first learn how to balance, to feel deck better. Training manuals is the way to feel more confident on a skateboard.
Exactly, man. Everyone makes progression look easier than it is on their social media or whatever, but it really does just take time/dedication. You got this!
@@dtarrant99 I mean when you start they can be scary, but after practicing hella you’ll get the hang of it. I’m good at ollies cause I started ollieing onto my driveway up a curb so I had to pop harder. So if you struggle try that lol
Well shoot man, that is awesome to hear! You picked the right sport, it's actually physically impossible to frown or be in a bad mood while riding a skateboard :p
Just started skating, got a board for Christmas and can't ollie yet so these are really helpful and made it look like I know what I'm doing when at the skatepark 😁😁🛹🛹
this is really helpful and believe it or not, p uplifting! ive never been too confident in my skills but ive already pulled off a few of these maneuvers without even knowing, and that makes me feel like ive already got a basis for more. thank u!
These are really cool, I'm going to start practicing these. My nephew is always wanting me to take him to the skate park so we can learn but he won't skateboard unless I am too. But I'm 26 and just starting out and it's so embarrassing! There are all these other adults who are really good and they skate all around and I don't know where we can practice without getting in their way. I keep telling him maybe I should get better by practicing elsewhere first -- our skateparks aren't as spacious as the one you filmed at and everyone seems to utilize every part of it. Probably parking lots and curbs would be better until I know what I'm doing. Idk, just gotta start riding more I guess
For anyone who sees this and can’t Ollie here’s some tips: first, don’t practice on concrete first. Find something that slows you down on landing but can still roll if you actively push the board. This will give you a better landing but still a semi-natural landing. I would recommend cutting open tennis balls and putting them on your wheels. Skater trainers are OK also but it makes you come to a dead stop, so wouldn’t really recommend. Also, be comfortable riding on your board. Board control is key. Then be able to jump on your board with a good landing. Then transition to the Ollie position and be able to jump from there. If you’re having trouble with sliding your foot up, first just jump with your front foot up first, then transition to a slide. Once you get it down then transition to concrete, then to rolling. Hope this helps! Edit: also practice popping your tail, it will give your back wheel a little more encouraging (is that the right word?) to get air
Lol these are beginner, they can be all be figured out within a few hours by anyone who is comfortable riding around on their board. If you find these to be too hard just practice ridding around.
if you only just started skating, it will take you a while to be able to start learning simple tricks. I skated for around 4 months before I could do simple tricks, by beginner it means starting to learn tricks and comfortable cruising on the streets
These are tricks for people who are beginners at tricks. If you are a " trying to stay on the damn board" - beginner, then maybe you are watching the wrong videos..
I watched an anime called "sk8 the infinity" which made me want to skateboard, I would recommend it to anyone who likes anime or skateboarding. If anyone wants to try skateboarding, u should, it feels like ur in a completely different world

Does it matter what wheels u use for the revert? because i cant seem to do it and im not sure if its my wheels
Its easier with harder wheels
i tried this today and i think the trick is to barely lift your tail up while scrapping it
Get as light on your feet while still maintaining your grip on the board and let your shoulders guide it. Hard wheels are better, too.
Yeah rubber wheels will grip really hard compared to hard wheels but it’s still possible
