Hello Karen, I can feel your frustration and empathise with it. It must feel as if Warren, you and your family are having such unfair situations to deal with. I worked in the NHS all my career, not as a nurse but as a radiographer in various fields. I have found that being a patient myself is such a different experience as the values you hold for the patient’s journey does not always happen. I consider the aspect of ‘not giving a report of diagnostic tests means normal’ is flawed, as lots of things in communication can happen or not happen - as you said. I would ask for the actual report findings. Also I think it would be useful to request and have it documented that you want to be present when any advice or results are given to Warren, as most patients (including myself) fail to fully understand or remember what was said. It is typical of the clinic/hospital scenario - for most people having to experience those places comes with a natural fear. You are being very brave, and I am sure you are a tremendous support to your husband for which he must be so grateful to have you by his side. Keep steadfast on the journey however long it is. Thank you for sharing this update, and I hope it gave you some comfort.
Your both having to be so brave . My thoughts and prayers are with you. One step at a time and I pray this nightmare your going through will be over as quickly as possible. ❤❤
My thoughts are with you during this challenging time. Thank you for sharing your story with everyone. It definitely will help anyone else who is going through a similar situation and I'm glad it helps you as well. Talking is very therapeutic. Take care ❤
Dear Karen how difficult and frustrating for you and your family … I’m not good at words but you are in my thoughts at this difficult time xxx sending love Pam xx
My heart goes out to you Karen. You are being an amazing support to Warren and your family, so very hard for you all. I hope and pray that they will sort some more treatment out that will put Warren into remission again. I am praying for you all. X x
Karen my heart goes out to you and Warren. God bless you both and take care . I know what hospital appointment is like . We have had a lot of them as my husband had a lung transplant . Take care❤
Sending you both big hugs Karen, you are doing a fantastic job supporting Warren and the Family. I am sure you are helping others in the same situation too x
Thank you for taking the time to share what you and your family are facing. I was diagnosed with Melanoma last year and was fortunate to be able to follow another person's experience on you tube. It really helped having an idea around treatment, tests etc. My treatment was successful and I hope for the same outcome for Warren.❤
I feel so much for the both of you. Horrid to go through, but I'm so glad you find an outlet here. I'm sure you're helping others. Huge hugs and love to both of you. xx
Oh Karen, my heart goes out to you and Warren. Such a frustrating and difficult time for both of you to be going through. I really hope there will be light at the end of the tunnel soon for you. Stay strong and sending big hugs xxx
Thank you, Karen for the update. You are having a really tough time at the moment. I do think about you, Warren and your family. You are doing a tremendous job.xx
Thank you for updating us on Warren's condition. I hope it helps you to know that there are a lot of people rooting for you. Have a word with a senior nurse or even a doctor and ask them to be a bit clearer with the information. Take care.❤❤
Aww Karen. So sorry to hear this. You are all going through so much. My thoughts are with you all. Hope you can find some peace in the coming weeks and you get better news in the New Year. Sending love xx
Awww Karen the lack of communication is awful. I downloaded the NHS app and got my results for an MRI scan much quicker than the doctors wanted to tell me. I thought maybe try that. It seems to update after every appointment, nothing as serious as your husband but it was just a thought. Thinking of you and your family ❤xx
Karen, I am sending you a big hug from Australia, it must be very frustrating and confusing for you and your family. So this comes with a big squeezy hug and best wishes for a happy outcome 🇦🇺🏴
Karen , Warren is blessed to have such a steady , caring wife in you. Just trust in God Karen hand it over and we'll keep praying for a good result. xx
I am so sorry to hear Warren has had such a rough time on top of his MCL .Always ask the Dr's and nurses if you have any worries or concerns on treatment .Sending hugs and prayers.xx.
Hi Karen,I am sorry that you are going through all of this,my sister's husband is going through cancer treatment at the moment, here in australia and it is tough, lots of ups and downs, sending you warm wishes that warren gets a good result on the mole and his ongoing treatments💖💖
Karen you are such a strong woman, not sure I would be. Obviously Warren is your priority but don't forget to look after yourself as well. Sending lots of !I've to you both❤
Hi Karen you are so brave dealing with all of this. I too assumed that the TP53 wd hv been tested for prior to treatment. I hope that you both find the strength to enjoy the important things with your family over Christmas and sending you warmest wishes ❤
After spending 13 weeks in Christy Hospital in Manchester I know what it's like to watch your family go through so much anquish and I am looking through it from Warrens point of view, but there is light at the end of this tunnel for all of you, take it from me who knows the downs when things don't go to plan , just keep going with your heads down . Have a Happy Christmas ❤❤ One for you and one for Warren .
Bless you all, nobody deserves times like this and all I can do is support you via UA-cam, send you all my love and best wishes and know that we are all thinking of you. We’re just around the corner to a new year so here’s hoping Warren gets all the help he deserves, along with yourself who also needs support (having been there I know it’s not easy). It’s good to get the anger and frustrations out it’s easier to move on to the next step. Thanks for the update ❤ Carol x
I think you are right to talk about your situation. It helps . I know when our son was ill it was a comfort to speak to friends about our feelings and I think most of your followers are your friends. You will get the strength you need. We did though God knows how, but you will. ❤
Since my Myeloma diagnosis I have learned so much about gene mutations ..I was tested when I had my first bone marrow biopsy ..it takes quite a while for results to come through ..I have t4:14 translocation which puts me into high risk category meaning I may not respond to treatments well. As I’ve told you I’m in remission following induction chemo and stem cell transplant and feel very lucky. There are many gene mutations which are found out along the way with cancer .. I really hope Warrens future treatments are as successful as possible and you can enjoy a long happy quality of life xx
Hi Karen, thanks for the updates on Warren . I am going through cancer treatment for my oesophageal cancer . I do understand the frustration from the NHS and information.
Thinking of you both Karen, sending lots of love. My friend and her husband are going through something very similar at the moment with endless appointments for scans etc and it is tough. Hang in there and here’s hoping the new year brings better things xx
So sorry that you're having so much worry and trouble Karen. I really do hope that next year will be much better for all of you. Good luck with the mole appt. Please let us know how you get on xx
Hi Karen Thanks for the update. It’s frustrating with the NHS as they are understaffed and overworked . I was In hospital in 2011 and was in for a month. The staff and doctors were brilliant there. It was during the period that gangs were looting the shops and that was nationwide I believe. The consultant who operated on me was Egyptian. What a lovely guy. I think that he was brought up in Uk and his English was perfect. You do an amazing job with Warren supporting him. Thinking of you and stay safe All the best and see you in the next one x Perf
Hi Karen my thoughts are with you as I know what you and your family are going through. My brother had Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and he went through a lot of the things that your husband is going through. We were lucky and got another 41/2 years with him. I wish the best possible outcome for your husband. Xxx
Thank you for the update Karen, I feel for you with regard to the hospitals they only seem to tell you what they want you to know. Perhaps now you can have a peaceful Christmas now that Warren doesn’t have to have the next round of treatment. Take care both of you and your wonderful family.❤️❤️
So sorry for you both going through this trauma , and I hope you will get a little peace over the Christmas holidays,I wish Warren the best for his next scan.Push the hospital, and doctors to give you information, it was always that way in the UK . ❤
Hopefully this month of Dec, without procedures, etc (except todays visit) can be peaceful ones and Warren can get stronger after everything he’s just been through. Praying for good report today and in the coming months.
Hi Karen, thanks for coming on here and sharing your news as I did wonder how you were both getting on. It does sound like Warren had maybe a UTI infection as it can make you talk gibberish. Fingers crossed the mole is not a naughty one. Sending hugs to you both xx
Oh Karen, I feel for you. The upset, lack of communication and frustration must be so awful. I wish you could get the NHS staff involved in Warren’s care to watch your videos. It seems as though nothing is joined up. Really feel for you all ❤❤❤.
O Karen I fully understand. They seem to think that "no news is good news" is acceptable. A similar experience happened to me today. And I was berated by my GP surgery admin person. If you are not informed of this results method , then it is very poor!. Hoping Warren is ok for the next few weeks ,& you can have a more normal Xmas. Rest up & take care.
Hi Karen I'm so sorry to hear you've hit a bump in the road. So frustrating. I was a nurse for 38 years and went through cancer treatment with my brother. Communication can be so poor. My advice is to be firm and persistent and request information and explanations all the way. you are entitled to have a one to one with Warewns doctors and consultants. In my experience if you are interested and axrobwly involved they form a relationship with you appreciating your interest and interactions. So keep asking - wishing you a quiet uneventful Christmas 🎄
Oh Karen my heart goes out to you both. And I agree, the frustration when there's no communication especially when Warren was so out of it, thier first port of call is next of kin surely? You don't like to complain as the doctor's, nurses and all in-betweener's are doing thier very best to help Warren, but I can understand you just wanting to literally scream. Keep strong Karen, my worry for you is, who motivates the motivator? And you're doing a lot of that right now. Lots of love sending your way.❤ X
The NHS = frustrating! If you've ever been treated in a private hospital there's no comparison. It's not that the medical care is any different. In fact you're often treated by the same doctors. Communication though is 100% better. All the best to you both.
Thank you Karen for the update. You are really doing an amazing job supporting Warren and keeping everything as normal as possible for all the family.
