I just was diagnosed stage 4 non small cell lung cancer which spread to several areas. I only had shoulder pain. And just finally sucked it up and went to be seen. Shoulder X-ray showed large lung mass. I am getting my port on Tuesday. Praying for all of you ..

I started itching really bad a few years back. I was told I was allergic to food. I kept feeling off and they thought I had an autoimmune disease but the rheumatologist said I had fibromyalgia. I developed a cough that kept me op all night and then horrible night sweats they thought I had bronchitis. Finally I went in again because the cough wasn’t getting better. They thought I had a clot so they did a d dimer test and it showed something wasn’t right so they did a ct scan and saw a mass pushing my trachea. I did a biopsy that showed I had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The PETscan showed it was near my trachea and one near my liver. Stage 3. It took 3-4 years to figure out what was wrong. I did treatment for 6 months. I didn’t feel sick but I was in pain. Done with treatment this past May. So far so good except now I have neuropathy and fast growing cataracts in both eyes.
Wow your story , symptoms and your ct and pet scan are exactly like my mine . I’m starting the chemo next week . Did u loss all your hair ? Did u use cooling cap ?
@@lacharmer441red light builds up collagen, which is technically “scar tissue” so I would be very wary with red light and cataracts. It could build them up potentially, instead of breaking them down?

Just because there's no genetic test for lymphoma doesn't mean there's no genetic condition that causes it. New biomarkers are constantly being identified.
There are some genetic mutations that make a person more likely to get cancer. I was tested for all of them. This family needs to be tested for all of them.
Not disagreeing about genetic causes, but biomarkers typically refers to proteins and carbohydrates on the outside of the cell membrane, not DNA. Cells "talk" to each other and "identify" each other with these protein "flags."
I can’t imagine it was easy to do IVF under these circs, but I’m glad they gave you the option. My friend with Hodgkins wasn’t given the choice; he had to ask (& is now recovered with twins ❤)

Well, until fairly recently, getting health care was nearly impossible for most Americans. It's still pretty hard to get, but it is somewhat more accessible. Anyway, before that, a lot of people got sick and passed of "natural causes" which was either a heart attack or cancer complications. Now, at least some people have a chance....

1985 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease stage 3 which now is called Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was 18 had 3 months ABVD and 6 months MOPP. Then 6 weeks of radiation.I then met my husband and had my son at 29. It was hard to get pregnant. After my son I never had another cycle. Dr said I went through menopause early probably from the chemotherapy. At age 42 I had DCIS and had to have a bilateral mastectomy. Dr said probably from the radiation. I have had genetic testing and everything was fine from that. I believe it’s the environment where I grew up because my neighbor behind me was diagnosed a few years after me with the same cancer. She was young also.
When my husband had his PET scan to be declared cancer free at the five year mark, they found out that his lung cancer had spread to his other lung . Stage 4 now. 78 yrs old has been receiving quemo therapy and Keytruda. It’s been hard on him, his adult children and myself. We won’t know how the therapy has been working until three more cocktails. So very happy for all that have von the battle.

It makes you wonder 💭 how did our 7 yr old son get diagnosed with cancer osteosarcoma 💔😭 he started complaining that his right knee HURT 😫 he was playing football in a league so we never thought it was cancer our dr told daddy I DONT WANT TO GUESS so let’s get an X-ray and they did that day I stopped at the dr office after work and they took me to his office and I said to my self I have been with this dr since I was 4 yrs old and never in his office THIS IS BAD he walked in put the X-ray up and said THAT IS A TUMOR AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT KIND I fell to my knees HYSTERICAL 😫😫😫😭💔 the next 3 yrs were full of chemo and operations 😫 it was a true test on our marriage we also had a 6 yr old daughter 💗 I am so happy that you are cancer free and your girls are beautiful 💕
I hate to sound callous or rude, but doctor seemed to give a damn more about kids than they do adults. Once you turn 18, your life is apparently over, in the eyes of the medical system. Please do not get this twisted, I am extremely grateful for your son‘s recovery… And for the survival of your marriage. I am just extremely ill… Discombobulated, that children seem to get a lot more resources than adults when it comes to chronic care.
@@SarafinaSummers that is true to a certain degree medically I don’t see a difference but financially there is in California they have CALIFORNIA CHILDREN SERVICES and they reimburse for parking and pay for anything your ins does not cover and if parent stays in hospital with child they get 3 meals paid for as long as you are in hospital and they also reimburse for gás used and after chemo and an operation to save the leg did not work he had to get his leg amputated and nothing worked the cancer kept coming back we took hm home and 9 months later he died in my arms at home 😩😩💔💔😭😭

@SarafinaSummers you need to go to the er with hot water in a thermos drink it to show a fever when they take your temperature tell them you have chest pains and make sure you breath quickly in and out. They will admit you for fever chest pain and scans I'm praying for you they didn't believe me untill I faked a fever and sprinted right before the er check in. I know most patients don't gave the energy to do that tho
For people wondering what is Hodgkin's lymphoma it affects the lymphatic system which is part of the body that fights germ/disease systems. It includes the lymph nodes which are located in the abdomen, groin, pelvis, chest, under arms and neck. It can also affect other organs or parts of the body. Do Not ignore any symptoms that you know are not normal. Be your own healthcare advocate. Ask questions. Challenge your doctor. Get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion.

Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the easiest cancer to cure ,I too had Hodgkin's Lymphoma 17 years ago Went through the chemo and God has Blessed me !I never had back pain I had swollen lymph nodes in my neck,my groin ,under my arm pits ,behind my knees ,all of my chest ,I could not breath ,I had no pain but the itching was all over ,night sweats ,losing my eye sight ! I lost 40 lbs ,it was awful ! I really never heard of back pain with Hodgkin's Lymphoma !

My husband was diagnosed with a very aggressive stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer earlier this year. After multiple rounds of radiation, it continued to spread to multiple areas in his spine and hip. We are now weeks into chemo, and we do follow up testing December 9th. Things are not looking good, but all we can do is hope and pray that things will turn around. The hard part as his wife is that I love him so much and I'm scared. There is tons of support for the patient but not the spouse. I know he is the one with cancer, but I'm hurting too. Except for 1 sister I have not received a phone call from anyone else. My honey gets 8-10 calls a day so besides me he has an extremely strong support system, me not so much much. Am I wrong or selfish to feel this way?

You need to find support and help with the caretaking, start with a therapist, surely the cancer center has one. They should be able to find help and support for you. If you neglect your own well being you'll be the next one with cancer. Please take care of yourself ❤

When I was physiotherapist, I was exercising extremely precaution with back pain or front shoulder pain. Always asking radio and scan then proceeding own testing before moving forward. If no better status and even worse after a week, I was sending back the patient to the doctor Usually, unusual back pain in lumbar region without specific sporty exercises or others, needs to be suspicious of uterus or cervical cancer or kidney/urinary system cancer. Shoulder front pain can be pulmonary cancer. She is saying kidney issue, practitioner got various testings tools like blood test, scan, irm.... It's absolutely not excusable.

I was treated for stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in the yr just prior to covid. I finished treatment in Oct 2019. So yes I agree with you on the fact that neither one of us had to go through treatment during the pandemic. Sending you lots of love, light and healing energy.
Reminds me of Mel & Kim. An English pop duo, consisting of sisters. Mel suffered from back pain. Long story short, she passed at the age of 23 in 1990. It was cancer.
Maybe there were certain chemicals in the water. 9 people got cancer in my street where i grew up in Lima, Peru.. Some got it younger like me at 45 and others a little bit older in their 60s. Only 2 of us are still alive. My father had pancreatic, my brother currently with tracheal and I had breast cancer in 2003. You are sweet and gorgeous. I wish you a long healthy life with your beautiful family. Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps knowing about the symptoms and treatments for different cancers.❤
My dad didn’t have lymphoma but he did have AML which is acute myeloid leukemia and they think he may have gotten his from Camp Lejeune when he was in the US Marine Corp or possibly from Agent Orange when he was overseas serving in the Vietnam War! He died in 2021 but he was also 84 years old but when he was admitted to the hospital to start treatment he got severely septic and his white count was either 0.2 or 0.3 however he did survive it and actually he was only on IV antibiotics for a few days and then he switched to oral antibiotics (I’ve had sepsis 4 times with the first being the worst and I was hospitalized for a month and spent 2 1/2 weeks on several IV antibiotics). He did really well on the oral antibiotics and that was until he got pneumonia about a week later. 3 1/2 weeks after he was admitted he passed away and it was less than 2 months after he started chemotherapy and less than 10 hours after I signed the hospice paperwork! Also this was his 2nd bout with cancer plus mom had breast cancer (survived), grandfather had colon cancer (died but he was also 96 years old), aunts and uncles have also had cancer. I have celiac disease and CVID and both increase risk for certain cancers!

What symptoms have you been dealing with? Have you had blood work done recently? Push for further testing if you feel like something isn't right. You know your body better than anyone. Advocate for yourself and don't be afraid to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion if you aren't satisfied!❤
@ rashes, sweating profusely day and night, severe headaches, malaise, muscle cramps and a bunch of other little things that seem strange. I got bloodwork done and they didn’t see anything but I pushed for more testing and got a MRI and CT scan. The doctor said I had a “severe sinus infection” even though I didn’t have any of the usual symptoms of a sinus infection. 2 rounds of antibiotics and still have all of the symptoms. I have a new doctor so I’m being the squeaky wheel and getting more testing done, I have a bunch of appointments coming up so hopefully I’ll find something out soon. I have been sick for almost 4 years now, the last 2 years have been the worst.
@@Stlgirl-t3i definitely, I’m pushing for more testing, the bloodwork keeps coming back “normal” and didn’t detect a severe sinus infection so I know it’s not as accurate as the docs would have you believe.
i am also an HL survivor and my mother passed from it (misdiagnosed) about 25 years prior. while my oncologist said it’s not typically genetic, he said in his opinion there was very likely a genetic component bc environmental didn’t make sense. my daughters pediatrician has her on a plan to watch her
Radon exposure can cause it. It is random from one house to another. Test for it. There is remediation steps for it. My Son passed from complications from being treated for lymphoma. We had radon in our basement.

I finally got another MRI this week and see my Dr in a few days. Hopefully something is obvious, otherwise more testing…..

My mom had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. They tested her for things back in her day when she had cancer what she had gotten it from a place that she had worked at some sort of chemical that she used in industrial washing machines. Unfortunely i worked in the same place my mother worked when i was a teenager for the last 2 years i have been experincing the same onset my mother had when she was first diagonosed. But the doctors are not doing anything to run tests to check me

My maternal aunt and maternal uncle both passed away from Lymphoma. Also have niece that completed treatment for it. Now I'm having some suspicious symptoms. Should I get checked?
If you were in that much pain and then continue to drink alcohol. I can’t believe you weren’t peeping blood because I was diagnosed with kidney cancer ♋️ at 56 and lost my right kidney and my urologist couldn’t believe it grew in my kidney instead of out, but he would NOT let me leave his office until he looked at my dye procedure and I him my life and tell him to this day and I went through six weeks of chemotherapy but found cells in my ledder tube that runs from your kidney to your bladder and I just had bladder surgery and there were no cells this time, so I get to move to six months until my next bladder cell surgery. Cancer has come along way and just l can give you some advice, God Bless you but have ur oncologist, urologist and PC doctor all work together like mine do. For years, they said there was no genetic link to cancer, period. I'm old, so I remember those days. So, I would look at it more as though they haven't identified one yet. When it comes to medicine, today's answers are always subject to change
There's much discussion about cancer not being hereditary at all. The genes in your DNA are obviously inherited. Certain genes have been found to be markers for certain cancers, but having a certain gene doesn't mean you will have that cancer, but it predisposes you to the possibility if that gene should happen to mutate. Research has found it difficult to find the exact reasons the gene mutations happen, but in some cases, they have determined that when certain genes DO mutate, it's commonly in certain decades of life. It looks as though you and your brother are relatively close in age. That could be a factor. Gene mutation is triggered by something; either in the environment or in your body when/if the conditions are right for it to do so. The newest research addresses the fact that scientists have always looked at cancers as heritable, but they've found that it's more likely to be metabolic dysfuction. Something to keep in mind for your children's sake. I discovered so much information regarding this when my mom was dx with an aggressive cancer in May of last year. I had her ask the doc if it was hereditary. He said no. My grandmother also died of (thyroid) cancer, and my mom didn't know what kind it was... or any details, really. I have spent the last 30 years being a career patient (crohns) and needed more answers. After her initial round of treatment was done, they did a PET scan in Sept '23. The cancer had exploded everywhere. She did choose to do some additional treatment, but we lost her on January 13th. Malignant Metastatic Mucosal Melanoma. Very rare. No therapies have been proven to work. I also question how/if the C19 shots may have altered the way the cancer behaved. Many things will always be a mystery. All of us have cancer 'insitu'. Tumor growth is triggered by 'something' - or many things. Genetically, our genes are similar to our immediate family members. So biologically, it would seem that our body's reaction to triggers is what is/can be hereditary. That's a deep rabbit hole, but it's worth following. Congratulations on your recovery. That’s crazy because I have to tell you that they told us that it’s really unkissed hard for family members to have different dads and have the alpha one disorder and I have daughters from different dads and I have alpha one and both of my daughters got alpha one even though they have different fathers, but because I have alpha one, I gave them the alpha one andalpha one for me, but they said that was statistically impossible for them to have alpha one. I have three children and two children have the same father one child has a different father, but all three of my kids have alpha one. And you are just a beautiful person and your has been and your children are absolutely gorgeous and oh my gosh your brother is so cute. When you say extreme pain, do you mean sensitivity in as much or deeper pains as much? For instance, touching skin can actually hurt even if no pressure is applied ?

Well, until fairly recently, getting health care was nearly impossible for most Americans. It's still pretty hard to get, but it is somewhat more accessible. Anyway, before that, a lot of people got sick and passed of "natural causes" which was either a heart attack or cancer complications. Now, at least some people have a chance....

My daughter had HL at 17, lots if those symptoms for months and we didn't know what was wrong. She's 24 now and doing great 🙏🙏🙏
1985 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease stage 3 which now is called Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was 18 had 3 months ABVD and 6 months MOPP. Then 6 weeks of radiation.I then met my husband and had my son at 29. It was hard to get pregnant. After my son I never had another cycle. Dr said I went through menopause early probably from the chemotherapy. At age 42 I had DCIS and had to have a bilateral mastectomy. Dr said probably from the radiation. I have had genetic testing and everything was fine from that. I believe it’s the environment where I grew up because my neighbor behind me was diagnosed a few years after me with the same cancer. She was young also.
Cancer cluster? Worth investigating.
When my husband had his PET scan to be declared cancer free at the five year mark, they found out that his lung cancer had spread to his other lung . Stage 4 now. 78 yrs old has been receiving quemo therapy and Keytruda. It’s been hard on him, his adult children and myself. We won’t know how the therapy has been working until three more cocktails. So very happy for all that have von the battle.

It makes you wonder 💭 how did our 7 yr old son get diagnosed with cancer osteosarcoma 💔😭 he started complaining that his right knee HURT 😫 he was playing football in a league so we never thought it was cancer our dr told daddy I DONT WANT TO GUESS so let’s get an X-ray and they did that day I stopped at the dr office after work and they took me to his office and I said to my self I have been with this dr since I was 4 yrs old and never in his office THIS IS BAD he walked in put the X-ray up and said THAT IS A TUMOR AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT KIND I fell to my knees HYSTERICAL 😫😫😫😭💔 the next 3 yrs were full of chemo and operations 😫 it was a true test on our marriage we also had a 6 yr old daughter 💗 I am so happy that you are cancer free and your girls are beautiful 💕
I hate to sound callous or rude, but doctor seemed to give a damn more about kids than they do adults. Once you turn 18, your life is apparently over, in the eyes of the medical system. Please do not get this twisted, I am extremely grateful for your son‘s recovery… And for the survival of your marriage. I am just extremely ill… Discombobulated, that children seem to get a lot more resources than adults when it comes to chronic care.
@@SarafinaSummers that is true to a certain degree medically I don’t see a difference but financially there is in California they have CALIFORNIA CHILDREN SERVICES and they reimburse for parking and pay for anything your ins does not cover and if parent stays in hospital with child they get 3 meals paid for as long as you are in hospital and they also reimburse for gás used and after chemo and an operation to save the leg did not work he had to get his leg amputated and nothing worked the cancer kept coming back we took hm home and 9 months later he died in my arms at home 😩😩💔💔😭😭

Noo, I'm Soo sorry! I'm just sickened by the amount of cancers and auto immunes and people suffering at the hands of a medical system that is all Profits over people! Drs can't or don't follow the "Do no harm" and they are no longer healers, but symptom treaters! No One especially a (your) 7yr old child! My tears are for you tonight! @SarafinaSummers you need to go to the er with hot water in a thermos drink it to show a fever when they take your temperature tell them you have chest pains and make sure you breath quickly in and out. They will admit you for fever chest pain and scans I'm praying for you they didn't believe me untill I faked a fever and sprinted right before the er check in. I know most patients don't gave the energy to do that tho

For people wondering what is Hodgkin's lymphoma it affects the lymphatic system which is part of the body that fights germ/disease systems. It includes the lymph nodes which are located in the abdomen, groin, pelvis, chest, under arms and neck. It can also affect other organs or parts of the body. Do Not ignore any symptoms that you know are not normal. Be your own healthcare advocate. Ask questions. Challenge your doctor. Get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion.

Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the easiest cancer to cure ,I too had Hodgkin's Lymphoma 17 years ago Went through the chemo and God has Blessed me !I never had back pain I had swollen lymph nodes in my neck,my groin ,under my arm pits ,behind my knees ,all of my chest ,I could not breath ,I had no pain but the itching was all over ,night sweats ,losing my eye sight ! I lost 40 lbs ,it was awful ! I really never heard of back pain with Hodgkin's Lymphoma !

My husband was diagnosed with a very aggressive stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer earlier this year. After multiple rounds of radiation, it continued to spread to multiple areas in his spine and hip. We are now weeks into chemo, and we do follow up testing December 9th. Things are not looking good, but all we can do is hope and pray that things will turn around. The hard part as his wife is that I love him so much and I'm scared. There is tons of support for the patient but not the spouse. I know he is the one with cancer, but I'm hurting too. Except for 1 sister I have not received a phone call from anyone else. My honey gets 8-10 calls a day so besides me he has an extremely strong support system, me not so much much. Am I wrong or selfish to feel this way?

You need to find support and help with the caretaking, start with a therapist, surely the cancer center has one. They should be able to find help and support for you. If you neglect your own well being you'll be the next one with cancer. Please take care of yourself ❤

When I was physiotherapist, I was exercising extremely precaution with back pain or front shoulder pain.
Always asking radio and scan then proceeding own testing before moving forward. If no better status and even worse after a week, I was sending back the patient to the doctor
Usually, unusual back pain in lumbar region without specific sporty exercises or others, needs to be suspicious of uterus or cervical cancer or kidney/urinary system cancer. Shoulder front pain can be pulmonary cancer.
She is saying kidney issue, practitioner got various testings tools like blood test, scan, irm....
It's absolutely not excusable.

Rylie, I am so glad that you were able to get the care that you needed, that you have such an amazing husband and 2 beautiful kids. I was treated for stage 3 triple negative breast cancer in the yr just prior to covid. I finished treatment in Oct 2019. So yes I agree with you on the fact that neither one of us had to go through treatment during the pandemic. Sending you lots of love, light and healing energy.

Mel suffered from back pain.
Long story short, she passed at the age of 23 in 1990. It was cancer.
Maybe there were certain chemicals in the water. 9 people got cancer in my street where i grew up in Lima, Peru.. Some got it younger like me at 45 and others a little bit older in their 60s. Only 2 of us are still alive. My father had pancreatic, my brother currently with tracheal and I had breast cancer in 2003.

My dad didn’t have lymphoma but he did have AML which is acute myeloid leukemia and they think he may have gotten his from Camp Lejeune when he was in the US Marine Corp or possibly from Agent Orange when he was overseas serving in the Vietnam War! He died in 2021 but he was also 84 years old but when he was admitted to the hospital to start treatment he got severely septic and his white count was either 0.2 or 0.3 however he did survive it and actually he was only on IV antibiotics for a few days and then he switched to oral antibiotics (I’ve had sepsis 4 times with the first being the worst and I was hospitalized for a month and spent 2 1/2 weeks on several IV antibiotics). He did really well on the oral antibiotics and that was until he got pneumonia about a week later. 3 1/2 weeks after he was admitted he passed away and it was less than 2 months after he started chemotherapy and less than 10 hours after I signed the hospice paperwork! Also this was his 2nd bout with cancer plus mom had breast cancer (survived), grandfather had colon cancer (died but he was also 96 years old), aunts and uncles have also had cancer. I have celiac disease and CVID and both increase risk for certain cancers!

What symptoms have you been dealing with? Have you had blood work done recently? Push for further testing if you feel like something isn't right. You know your body better than anyone. Advocate for yourself and don't be afraid to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion if you aren't satisfied!❤
@ rashes, sweating profusely day and night, severe headaches, malaise, muscle cramps and a bunch of other little things that seem strange. I got bloodwork done and they didn’t see anything but I pushed for more testing and got a MRI and CT scan. The doctor said I had a “severe sinus infection” even though I didn’t have any of the usual symptoms of a sinus infection. 2 rounds of antibiotics and still have all of the symptoms. I have a new doctor so I’m being the squeaky wheel and getting more testing done, I have a bunch of appointments coming up so hopefully I’ll find something out soon. I have been sick for almost 4 years now, the last 2 years have been the worst.
You have a mycobacterial infection please I promise you get a pet ct scan they will tell you it's cancer but it's mycobacterium@@tntina420
@@tntina420 do not go by blood work alone. My bloodwork has been normal it took. That’s why we were stunned that I actually had lung cancer
@@Stlgirl-t3i definitely, I’m pushing for more testing, the bloodwork keeps coming back “normal” and didn’t detect a severe sinus infection so I know it’s not as accurate as the docs would have you believe.

i am also an HL survivor and my mother passed from it (misdiagnosed) about 25 years prior. while my oncologist said it’s not typically genetic, he said in his opinion there was very likely a genetic component bc environmental didn’t make sense. my daughters pediatrician has her on a plan to watch her

Radon exposure can cause it. It is random from one house to another. Test for it. There is remediation steps for it. My Son passed from complications from being treated for lymphoma. We had radon in our basement.

I’ve been dealing with similar symptoms for over a year now, ER docs said kidneys (totally bs) and spinal stenosis (do have, but it’s not responding to injections anymore), plus high white and platelets low B and Potassium . I finally got another MRI this week and see my Dr in a few days. Hopefully something is obvious, otherwise more testing…..
Everything shows up in an MRI. I hope everything goes well. The blood tests are abnormal. I had an MRI and it showed everything.

My mom had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. They tested her for things back in her day when she had cancer what she had gotten it from a place that she had worked at some sort of chemical that she used in industrial washing machines. Unfortunely i worked in the same place my mother worked when i was a teenager for the last 2 years i have been experincing the same onset my mother had when she was first diagonosed. But the doctors are not doing anything to run tests to check me
Demand tests. Be clear with your symptoms, history and persist.

Did your legs hurt really bad at night when you tried to sleep ? My back hurts so bad. And I sweat really bad at night. Sweating through my clothes one night I had to change my pjs three times. My legs hurt too. I’m waiting to get my mri
The cancer sign videos note that kind of sweating at night and any very bad pain without relief or clear cause means you need to see someone. Something is up.
My maternal aunt and maternal uncle both passed away from Lymphoma. Also have niece that completed treatment for it. Now I'm having some suspicious symptoms. Should I get checked?

If you were in that much pain and then continue to drink alcohol. I can’t believe you weren’t peeping blood because I was diagnosed with kidney cancer ♋️ at 56 and lost my right kidney and my urologist couldn’t believe it grew in my kidney instead of out, but he would NOT let me leave his office until he looked at my dye procedure and I him my life and tell him to this day and I went through six weeks of chemotherapy but found cells in my ledder tube that runs from your kidney to your bladder and I just had bladder surgery and there were no cells this time, so I get to move to six months until my next bladder cell surgery. Cancer has come along way and just l can give you some advice, God Bless you but have ur oncologist, urologist and PC doctor all work together like mine do. For years, they said there was no genetic link to cancer, period. I'm old, so I remember those days.
So, I would look at it more as though they haven't identified one yet.
When it comes to medicine, today's answers are always subject to change
There's much discussion about cancer not being hereditary at all. The genes in your DNA are obviously inherited. Certain genes have been found to be markers for certain cancers, but having a certain gene doesn't mean you will have that cancer, but it predisposes you to the possibility if that gene should happen to mutate. Research has found it difficult to find the exact reasons the gene mutations happen, but in some cases, they have determined that when certain genes DO mutate, it's commonly in certain decades of life. It looks as though you and your brother are relatively close in age. That could be a factor. Gene mutation is triggered by something; either in the environment or in your body when/if the conditions are right for it to do so. The newest research addresses the fact that scientists have always looked at cancers as heritable, but they've found that it's more likely to be metabolic dysfuction. Something to keep in mind for your children's sake.
I discovered so much information regarding this when my mom was dx with an aggressive cancer in May of last year. I had her ask the doc if it was hereditary. He said no. My grandmother also died of (thyroid) cancer, and my mom didn't know what kind it was... or any details, really. I have spent the last 30 years being a career patient (crohns) and needed more answers.
After her initial round of treatment was done, they did a PET scan in Sept '23. The cancer had exploded everywhere. She did choose to do some additional treatment, but we lost her on January 13th.
Malignant Metastatic Mucosal Melanoma. Very rare. No therapies have been proven to work. I also question how/if the C19 shots may have altered the way the cancer behaved. Many things will always be a mystery.
All of us have cancer 'insitu'. Tumor growth is triggered by 'something' - or many things. Genetically, our genes are similar to our immediate family members. So biologically, it would seem that our body's reaction to triggers is what is/can be hereditary. That's a deep rabbit hole, but it's worth following.

That’s crazy because I have to tell you that they told us that it’s really unkissed hard for family members to have different dads and have the alpha one disorder and I have daughters from different dads and I have alpha one and both of my daughters got alpha one even though they have different fathers, but because I have alpha one, I gave them the alpha one andalpha one for me, but they said that was statistically impossible for them to have alpha one. I have three children and two children have the same father one child has a different father, but all three of my kids have alpha one. And you are just a beautiful person and your has been and your children are absolutely gorgeous and oh my gosh your brother is so cute. When you say extreme pain, do you mean sensitivity in as much or deeper pains as much? For instance, touching skin can actually hurt even if no pressure is applied ?
