I completely changed my diet six months ago based on nationally recommended guidelines, but it only made my health worse. It wasn’t until I read 'The 23 Former Doctor Truths' that I realized doing the opposite of what the government advises can actually make a difference. No wonder the doctor who wrote it left their career-speaking the truth often challenges the system!

My eyes are literally watering with relief. I'm 52 and actually _never_ ate a terrible diet high in sugar or overeating and 2 years ago I upped my game to heal a histamine intolerance by adopting a "severe" keto diet with intermittent and prolonged (3-7 days) fasting regularly.
2 months ago I got my A1C tested and it was 6.0, *_pre-diabetic?!_* I was in a panic. The doctor said, "It's probably genetic, don't worry about it," but I WAS worried about it! I was doing everything practically perfectly and healed my histamine problem and was apparently on my way to diabetes?! The worst thing about it was that there's _nothing_ I can do to "improve it" since I'm already eating so healthfully; no hidden pitfalls to fix.
I asked AI if an A1C can be falsely elevated to that degree by a longer red blood cell lifespan, and it confirmed, yes, it can. Thank you Dr. Berg!!!

I was pre diabetic before, at the time I was 52 kg 5 foot 3, just losing 2 kg over the course of a year by getting more of my calories from vegetables I was no longer. I'm in the super healthy zone. I think I lost 2 kg in 3 months or so by switching to more plant based diet but didn't get blood work checked until one year later. You want to eat less noodles, rice, sugary food, more vegetables, fruits.

The system is designed to silo health workers into different parts of the body so there isn’t a wholistic view of the body and general health. The system is designed to pump as many drugs etc into us to suppress symptoms. When has a Dr ever asked what is the patient eating? Modern medicine is disease management they are not aiming for cures. Better still, let’s eat a species appropriate diet that gives us the minimal chance of getting sick in the first place! Then medicine will be left with the minority of conditions that it can get its teeth stuck into and resolving. Atm it’s a conveyor belt.

Hi Eric, Bhavesh (Patel, MD) here.... great point about the A1c and increased lifespan of RBCs. The A1c is calculated on the idea that RBCs live 90 days, but if they live longer, more glycation, thus, higher A1c... The other thing that happens is LOW A1c and HIGH fasting glucose, which is due to gluconeogenesis (liver secreting glucose into bloodstream) when sugar levels drop during fasting.

Such as frequent urination at night, as the body tries to get rid of excess glucose. This can lead to dehydration, causing dry mouth and increased thirst. The person may also suffer from insomnia, waking up feeling tired. Headaches can occur as a result of blood sugar fluctuations. Signs include Others may feel unusually hungry despite eating enough food before bedtime. Some individuals may experience blurred vision when going to the bathroom at night. In more severe cases, there may be nausea or dizziness. These symptoms may worsen if left untreated, which underscores the importance of monitoring blood sugar levels during the night.

Same here! I just searched google to see if a longer red blood cell lifespan can cause A1C to be 6.0 in a person who eats a low-carb, healthy diet, and it said YES and it's known as a "falsely elevated A1C." I'm SO RELIEVED to know this! My MD said, "It's probably genetic" and not to worry about it, but I WAS worried about it! How could I eat essentially perfectly and have a "pre-diabetic" A1C?! THANK YOU, DR. BERG, INDEED!!!

Okay he's a doctor of some type. He's very open about the circumstances of his life that led him to where he's at now. If he had to work to find the information initially, how tough will it be for us? Us would be the average Joe or the average Jane. Thanks to the good doctor here not that tough. We can just tune in to his channel and get a wide assortment of information covering different health topics. We should be a very appreciative lovely effort that's a good doctor puts into his videos. Thank you. 👍

Great video, agree about A1C, not always the best indicator. Fasting plasma glucose should be assessed as a confirmatory or a fructosamine level. I instruct most of my patients with Diabetes to decrease carbs to no more 40 grams a day, but each patient need is individual.

As a type 2 diabetic , I can , with medication , stay within those magic numbers but not without sacrificing many foods I enjoy !
The diet that is required for me makes it difficult for my partner to shop at the grocery store !
Imagine how difficult it makes it when they are buying groceries for an entire family who do not have the same issues ! ?

Try intermittent fasting and cutting carbs. Of course, talk with your doctor about it.

    • @mikepeek5655
      @mikepeek5655 Місяць тому

No sacrifice. Really ?? Your just addicted to sugar and carbs. Period. Just saying. If you will slowly cut way back on carbs and do more carnivore diet , you will be satiated to go longer without food and therefore do intermittent fasting easier. Then the 16 18, or 20 hour fast get easier. Don't flip a switch. Take several weeks. Lots of variables for everyone. Look at bergs fasting keto videos. Eat fatty meats , eggs, salmon, butter on all foods. Use tallow and lard to cook with.
Go more carnivore type and eat low carb veggies like cabbage , some greens. After fasting much more you won't crave sugar or processed foods.
I'm 71 and feel better than ever.
      Good luck

Now I am 64 no prediabetez anylonger! & it was not me who wanted to eat carbs & sweets but the fungus in my body, and in my stomach, now no anymore after the last month that I got 2 cloves with little bit of coconut oil in the morning with an empty stomach, no bad mood, nor pain in my stomach due to „hunger“ nor bad mood now just 1 cup of clove tea once in a while if the „hunger pain“comes back 😳😃🤗 thnx doc.

@ last night after I bought it, it was 104, which was after about a 24 hour fast (OMAD). At wake this morning, it was 85.
If you have a spare $20, get yourself a Relion Premier. I figure a week of testing will help narrow down why I am crashing and craving.

I am a weight trainer and have been since I was 13 - heading for 71. I try and keep my carbs between 75-100 grams/day . I find if I get my carbs too low my workouts suffer hugely - drops my strength done by about 5%-7%. I am hoping that the prolonged burn I get from the weight training takes care of of the carbs.
