Jeff Loomis on his Signature Jackson Pro Series Soloist SL7 Model | Jackson Presents | Jackson

He knows he is a shredmaster icon, but still talks really down to earth, still feels honored to be one of "those guys" like one of the metal guitar heroes, and also he gives some useful advice. Awesome, man. Hope I get the guitar somehow.
Jeff deserves more than the recognition he gets. Such a humble insane musician.
Humble and kind

“Thank you very much for your support, and enjoy your instrument.”
No Jeff, thank YOU for being such a huge inspiration. I picked up seven string for the first time because of you, and although I don’t own any of your signature models (yet), I picked up a KEXQ Kelly because of you, and it’s my main guitar alongside a Jackson SL7Q Soloist. You’re one hell of a player, and I hope to meet and talk with you again when you come back to the US. Cheers from New York!
LONG LIVE LORD LOOMIS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Much love from WNY!

This Guitar is NASTY. I love the dichotomy of the guitar looking like it will kill you but Jeff being literally the nicest most sweetest dudes in the business.

Mm
Gorgeous guitar old buddy, cool to hear you rip the Conquering tunes again!
Hi Keith! Met you with CD in 2015 with CHON and AAL. Big fan!
You guys have any future plans together? Some more C.D? 😊
...and hopefully some new tunes in the foreseeable future??
P.l.e.a.s.e. ? :D
Make music together again 😭😭😭😭
You need to make serious tones again with Jeff 🙏🏽
I became a Jeff Loomis fan back in the day instantly and I had the opportunity to me and see the band Nevermore they were on their dreaming neon black tour, small Club JJ Kelley's South Side Chicago. Jeff is a Class Act really cool and humble dude. It's been awesome to watch him grow and become more successful as an artist. He deserves all of the accolades, he's worked hard to hone his skills and it shows. Cheers Jeff Loomis.
that 'Formerly of Nevermore' hit soo hard 🥲
ALL HAIL MIGHTY JEFF!!!
Nevermore's singer was what stopped them becoming hugely successful in my opinion.
His actions maybe…not his voice…W.Dane was a masterful singer
@@Judge-Shred i think P Holmes said kind of the same man..and actually there is a big point on that.Warell was such a talent but very difficult to work with, especially on the last years of Nevermore(2006-..).and that is a HUGE thing on that level.
@@Agnes135
Warrel Dane’s vocals weren’t for everyone, but man it just worked and was fantastic in conjunction with the incredibly unique writing style Nevermore had. The band just would’ve never been the same had it gone on with another vocalist shifting the band to a more standard heavy metal approach, or even someone trying to approximate Warrel’s voice, at least I don’t believe so.
That guitar looks like it will make you feel really tough like sitting in a hot rod or a fighter plane. Jeff is a great inspiration. Thank you for this video presentation Jackson.
This dude has written some of the nastiest riffs and licks in existence but yet is so soft spoken and humble, I love it.
Always great to see Jeff playing and even better to hear his thoughts, such a nice, humble guy.
Now, this is a guitar I would love to have. I can see where this design would work for me. Otherwise, Jeff has always been someone I have respected not only as a killer guitar player but as a down-to-earth humble human being, no doubt.
Jeff is a KING! Beautiful guitar.
I don’t know why he’s almost never mentioned in the usual list of top shredders (aka utube shredders). He is a world class player and a true artist!!!
I bought that guitar around a month ago And i have to say it is amazing. I thought I would never get that warm and fuzzy feeling from another guitar until I found that Jackson. Amazing job.
Awesome features and specs! Very nice introduction Jeff. Killer playing and sound!
Your looking at probably one of the best guitar players to ever live!!
Notice how there was NO Arch Enemy material to showcase Jeff's work?
We'll wait for the 3rd solo album or 2nd Conquering Dystopia, no matter how long it'll take, Jeff.
I've been waiting for that solo album for ages haha. It will be a glorious day
@@vidmohit4684 his Heir To The Throne track from last year was so god damn good, I NEED MOAR! Some of his best melodic work imo!
And his solo for Ola’s track was mindblowing (those sweeps)!! He’s still got the chops, but Arch Enemy fans wouldn’t know, since they still haven’t heard him 🙃
@@bcbitchkkv agreed on both. His solo on Ola's track was unreal!
@@vidmohit4684 no monik koops
idk, he's written some pretty amazing solos for AE already, probably the main thing is that all of their stuff is in C Standard and on 6-strings, and I'm pretty sure all of his other work is in A# Standard, B Standard, or Drop A. I do hope he writes some riffs for them at some point, though.
His tone and playing takes me back to a btter time of music. A time a love dearly. Thank you jeff for keeping it alive. Loved your playing ever since i heard Nevermore. Im a bass player but definitely influence me so thank you. God bless.
Jeff has such a bad ass stage presence, the tastiest riffs and solos on offer... and then on top if it all, a Keanu Reeves tier genuine personality. Nah, we don't deserve this remarkable human being.
Yes very down to earth 🌎 like him and easy to talk to
You can just tell, this is a man who LOVES that guitar!
...and I love it right along with him!
The way Jeff speaks is well articulated. You’re obviously an amazing and inspiring guitar master and seem like the most respectful person as well. Props to Jeff and Jackson Guitars 👊🏻
Jeff is a really cool and awesome guy, got to meet him a couple years ago after one of his concerts really kind and humble person took the time to sign autographs for me and my niece and took pictures with us I am forever a Jeff Loomis fan and love his band arch enemy 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎶 congratulations on the jackson sig you deserve it
Love that vol knob position.
Just got one. This guitar…. Is INCREDIBLE. Jeff, you’re an amazing guitarist.
there's no info on the fret metal, are they nickel ?
@@johanjotun1647 yes they are nickel. Mine is anyway
@@ironsave3201 thanks, I wondered cause the misha soloists have SS but these are way prettier, guess thats the tradeoff
@@johanjotun1647 I’ll tell you, the pickup tone is not for everyone. Definitely test one with a similar rig you’d use before buying.
Doesn’t seem to play nice with my Multiwatt…. Or I just dislike the tone.
Build quality has been stable and no sprout; etc. Korean manufacturers are still excellent.
@@ironsave3201 at this point I feel like I'll just go whammyless or have to pop over dbl that into another keisel build... idk if i can be happy without all the extras and play abillity
Such an awesome guitar player! I've given up on 7 strings but everytime I see Jeff, it makes me want to go back and try 7 strings again. 🤘
You should try it again. Just have fun.
@@BruceWillisiscool yup seriously thinking of picking one up again. Cheers mate!
bro don't get acustomed to having an 8string multiscale it makes regular fiddles feel strangely small
Jeff you made me cry while watching this video!!! Your songs always make me so emotional, happy and everything! Love your music... but I also would love a no-floyd-rose version of this BEAUTIFUL guitar!!
This is the first artist model of any brand I've seriously considered getting. It ticks all my boxes for a 7-string and it's really not that expensive, and besides, Jeff is just such a great guy.
Got my guitar yesterday. First time playing a 7-string and this thing is inspiring to play! Love it!
@@GDCDGC Yes, this exact model. Previously I bought the Jeff signature Kelly variant (Pro series) so I had to have this one as well =)
@@GDCDGC To me personally, it is confortable. The neck with its very nice black satin finish is so smooth. The shape of the neck feels "meaty" but not hard to play. It feels natural. Also, the classic Soloist shape of the guitar and the lower weight makes it perfect for playing sitting down (unlike a Gibson Explorer that inspires tennis elbow syndrome when sitting down =) I haven't played any other 7-string guitar so I can only compare it to a 6-string, so your mileage may vary =) See if you can find it in a store and play it.
I finally got one 3 weeks ago. This thing just fits perfect when you hold it and play it. Hands down, the most comfortable guitar I've played.
Thanks! Fantastic tone and playability is part of our DNA
fret metal?
@@johanjotun1647 I think it's nickel silver. The Kelly I believe has stainless steel.
@@bobbyball77 I'm now committed to the idea its already grotesque how many guitars and drums I have compared to how well I play and a 2-3 grand dump for a fiddle with a trem is too far
@@johanjotun1647 all personal preference dude. Sometimes it's tough to justify the price to ourselves. Keep playing and never stop. 🤘
I 100% would have bought this over my dink 7string that is basically the same guitar but black and green and some slightly different specs. But I love this color and there isn't a 2nd tone knob that gets in the way of his playing. I like this one a lot.
I can’t wait to my first 7 string Jeff Loomis model this masterpiece looks sick!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍
I didn’t even get a chance to get the old sig! This man got guitars coming out like crazy! Love you Jeff!
His 6s are still Kellys!
Best 7 string player of the last few decades, period. Awesome ax!!
Facts, nobody comes close imo
Jeff is so humble for being an epic icon haha. Can't wait for mine to get here and to finally be able to play this beauty of an axe!! Preorder taking way too long
I’ve had this guitar for around a year and it’s one of the greatest purchases I’ve made. Love every aspect of it
Appreciate the shoutout!
Talk about everything you’d want in a 7 string. Same specs with a fixed bridge would be an amazing addition.
I see Jeff Loomis? I click like. When he's demoing a new Jackson? I click like even faster!
Ordered this thing like 2 months ago... wait is killing me
Agressive & Classic, like a fine vintage car. Jackson Guitars Rules!
7 string Kelly please. Love the SL7 neck but don't need anoter Super Strat in my life ha. Jeff Loomis is awesome! I had one of the first Schecter Loomis sig guitars, kept it for years, refinished it in a transparent blue and had it some more years and then gave it to a childhood friend I hadn't seen in years. So yes, I need another Jeff Loomis sig.
Mine is on order and cannot wait for mine to arrive!
Absolutely stunning!
Secured one of these. so stoked you finally have a 7 string Jackson.
It’s strange seeing Jeff rip some Conquering without Keith sitting besides him.
Such a great player. Seems very humble too.
Everything I’ve seen him in he seems very down to earth and a very cordial guy. I’ve never met him but I play with a few who have back in WI.
What a great guy as well as a great guitarist 🙂 Beautiful beast of a guitar.
Man what a nice guitar
Beautiful instrument and a very gifted, beautiful soul.....
It’s funny to have watched some older videos and see Jeff smiling so much. Ok there he goes with the face in the last solo part lol Grrr!
Naming Randy Rhoads as his main influence made me smile ear to ear 💙 #2 is Ace Frehley the minute I laid eyes on the ALIVE! album in 1975 I was hooked!! 👍🏻
Damn do we miss the combo of you and Warrel (R.I.P.) - those Nevermore years were the soundtrack to my life
On my Jackson dk3QM. I just upgraded the arm and coupling unit that connects the arm, with German made parts. I haven't had any issues with the bar coming loose. The coupling unit is super easy to replace if you know how to work on floyds
Hey Jeff..I love the slip in Floyd Rose tremelo bar..I have put them in 5 of my Floyd equipped guitars and they are a great upgrade over the screw on bar. Your new Jackson here is incredible !
Can you replace the screw in arms with slip in ones on any Floyd? I have one schecter with the pop in Floyd and like it so much better. My main Broderick USA Broderick Jackson screw in Floyd bar always comes loose and I can’t stand it. No matter how hard I twist it
@@GeorgeZimmermen I just got a 7 string Chris Broderick signature, never played a Floyd Rose before so it's a bit of a learning curve! Good to know the arm being tricky to keep in the desired position isn't just on my copy. Sometimes I want to keep the arm in one position so I try and tighten it a bit more but it easily comes loose if I then move the arm to another position. And if I loosen the arm screw for when I want it freely rotating then it can easily make a rattling sound in the screw attachment. Going to get a proper setup in a couple weeks though so maybe that will get everything sorted. If you have the full-fat USA model that's even more frustrating, mine is the Indonesian produced variant.
@@dreammachine86 I replaced the arm with this Japanese company Floyd bar. It’s a push in bar and not a screw in. Works much better. It’s just an issue with Floyd rose twist on arms. Every single one I’ve owned eventually has the threads come loose and doesn’t stay tight anymore
Notice how he played Conquering Dystopia and not his other projects because it’s the one we truly all love! Besides Nevermore of course, well and his solo album goddamnit I love Mr Loomis
Such a pleasant and modest guitar genius (with so cool guitars).
Jeff Loomis is the REAL deal!
Nice looking guit-box! I have a few Jacksons and would love to add this one! Will it be available in both 6 and 7 string?
The player that made me pick up my first 7 string, Loomis is a beast and it's nice to see what a down to earth guy he is. I really miss Nevermore :(
I need some more Conquering Dystopia in my life!
looks and sound killer
I've never wanted a signature guitar because it made me feel like a wanna be but this one fucking bad ass
I would never buy a signature guitar... until now. That's exactly what I need
Such a humble guy. Maybe one day I’ll be able to grab one of these bad boys.
Those riffs are why I’ve been a loomis fan over 15 years. There’s a million guys out there playing technical crazy stuff and can emulate anything, but none of them give me that vibe that loomis does. His riffs alone destroy all the modern virtuosos around imo.
He's got the soul, a uniquely emotive style
@@tylerdombrowski6847 yeah and he’s from a different generation who somehow connected with a younger audience. He is from a time of guitar hero’s. Old school. There is something to that I think. He isn’t a bedroom guitar playing virtuoso or an instagram phenom.
6:58 when you actually express what you feel about your guitar...
"You're not gonna sound like the artist, it's all in the hands" Finally
Totally agree Randy's Jackson was beautiful and sounded amazing!!!!!!! RIP
Just think about if Dave Mustaine had allowd him to join Megadeth early in his career. Ive always enjoyed Jeffs playing and he comes across as a really nice guy.
Such a beast of a guitarist! And a nice dude! Congrats on the awesome guitar.
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Jeff, we miss Conquering Dystopia and your solo stuff
A true GUITAR HERO and a Gentleman of the highest caliber.
That guitar is a gorgeous beast!! 🤘🎸😎
My favorite guitarist is the one an only Rhoads. The first guitar I ever dreamed of owning. My first amazing jackson guitar. Was a soloist. A lot like Jeff’s. Jeff reminds me of randy. I’m pretty sure I need this guitar now to come full circle. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 and honestly, such a spec for the cost.
Loomis is one of the top guys in the business. He's up there with dudes like Kiko and Romeo. Very cool guitar.
More like they are up there with him
Way better than those borefests. Jeff has the riffage
Love Conquering Dystopia, amazing technicality 🔥🔥🔥
I've been trying so hard not to preorder this... Guess I'm going to just do it now.
Lovely guitar... More Power Jeff!
love it hope jackson comes out with sl6 jeff loomis signature usa and pro series soon toothat be really cool also just saying and wishfully hoping crossing my fingers
So sick. 👑
Killer guitar!! and Jeff...well it's a legend!!🙌🔥🔥🔥
Do sharp frets come stock on this model?
JL is THE MAN! Met you way back on the dead heart tour in AZ - you were the nicest guy ever. You had a black Jackson Kelly back then!
I love this! JACKSON GUITARS!!!
It’s finally here! That one that’s been in all of his videos! Yewwwwww
wow! so amazingly beautiful guitar!
Awesome!!
Wish I can see more guitars with a ash top. It just looks brutal and beautiful.
Great Guitar , great job !!!
Looks awesome
Such a good down to earth dude.......🤜🤛🤘
Does anyone know what kind of a screw holds the whammy bar in place? I was just wondering because the screw was missing when I bought my Jackson Jeff Loomis SL7 Soloist guitar. Without this screw the whammy bar is just really loose and not even really functional right now without this missing part. Please let me know if anyone knows what kind of screw it is that is for this floyd rose 1500 tremolo series. Thanks.
I need one of these asap
so classy and brutal \m/
JL is the man
Loomis is a a true inspiration
Pickups sound incredible
Very Cool
I own Kelly and it`s killer, that Soloist SL7 Model looks like attempting for shrediiiiing 😍
Beautiful sound on that guitar.
I'm Hooked on Jackson. I can't stop watching this video.
These look absolutely gorgeous. V shape next perhaps?
