Same body shape as the Dinky, but neck through construction.

The Jackson Rhoads has always been my favorite guitar body style. It's pointy and aggressive while still being somewhat sleek and elegant. They make a very loud visual statement and sometimes it's fun to be noticed on stage.

Jackson was my go-to in the 90’s into the early 2000’s, and I’ve had at least one in the collection to this day. One of my sole regrets in managing the collection was letting go a gorgeous Mike Shannon built RR1 with hot rod flame graphics. Every Jackson I ever owned (and currently own) have felt and sounded great 👌🏻

years ago I watched you on here with a super rad looking FFAA long sleeve..it was so rad that i decided to check the band out... The Sea of Tragic Beasts melts my face off and they end up becoming one of my favourite bands... which then segues into Pat's love for Jackson pushing me enough to get a Dinky 7-string(also my first 7). so in a weird way, you're also to blame. so thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for exposing me to FFAA and thank you for indirectly helping me fall in love with Jackson.

I think we’re entering a new golden era of Jackson guitars. Especially in the hardcore community, if you watch any Hate5six live footage or LCY bands, more often than not, you’re going to see a Jackson guitar. I think it’s a callback to crossover bands from the 80’s. In the metal community you’re seeing more rhoads and warriors which I believe is a reaction to the over saturation of super-Strats we saw in the 2010’s. Pointy guitars are back.

@@dannyllerenatv8635 agree but I think the majority of players don’t realize that just about any electric guitar can do any genre. In my opinion, the exception would be active pickups because they do have limitations. But yeah man, I just got a Tele (single in the bridge, hum in the neck) and that thing can djent it’s ass off. My favorite tones for that particular sound is actually using the neck humbucker at split position. I don’t write that genre but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love jamming with that sound from time to time

I picked up my first Jackson in 2007 as a Christmas gift from my dad that I had to practically beg him for (I was 14 at the time). Every other guitar just feels weird now. • @capoman1
      @capoman1 7 місяців тому +1

I'm in good company then! My first good guitar was an American made Warlock made out of cherry, heaviest weight guitar I've ever picked up... I still have it but can't stand it. Floyd rose branded trem goes out of tune, and the pickups really suck. I play an Ibanez Rg for metal stuff.
I still love heavy stuff, newer progressive stuff like Intervals and Monuments. But I got into singing and playing acoustic and that became my focus as a musician. Way more people appreciate it and I can just bring my acoustic no extra eqpt.

Ahhh, all you young pups, lol! I started playing when I was 12, in '77! Went to see KISS on their Love Gun tour, and left the show saying, "I'm going to do THAT!".
Of course, Jackson weren't even a thing for a few more years, and way out of my teenage price range when they came out. But I'm real proud to say that the top two guitars in my collection are an RR1 in bengal yellow tiger stripes and a MIJ Dinky. And I plan to get something from their custom shop before I die. Jackson forever!

I have been a Jackson guy since the late 80's early 90's. I got my first real guitar in 89, which was a Charvel Model 2. From then, I've owned countless Jacksons. Another great Jackson topic would be the new MIJ series. When I was a kid in the 90s the Japanese made Jacksons were super popular. I love that they brought that back and I recently got an MIJ MAH Dinky (about a year and a half ago). Love the 5 piece neck, direct mount pickups, (no pick up rings) and I also love that there isn't a truss rod cover on the reverse headstock, it's really a bunch of features I love all in one guitar. It's a really well made instrument at a good price point around $2k, instead having to pay twice that for a custom shop or pay less than $1k for a piece of garbage at GC

Had a SL3MG in Slime Green and it was a ripper and real nice. But i wish Jackson would experiment or try most styles/shapes of guitars. They're very safe and traditional shapes

Though the eighties Jackson and Charvel collaborated Jackson Charvel guitars were fairly popular, especially with the early heavy metal groups. I have an early eighties MIJ Jackson Charvel Charvette. Wayne Charvel ultimately had a falling out with Jackson. and Jackson and Charvel continued on separately. and eventually Fender purchased Charvel and they are still being sold by Fender. although Fender doesn't heavily market them. because they are out to sell Strats. when Jackson Charvel first teamed up they were the first serious super Strats.

They're owned by the biggest guitar brand in the world and they have been having a pretty narrow range of models for some years now. Now there's not a single Pro series guitar with the top-of-the-line FR, which is a joke, especially when they want €2000+ in some cases.

This morning the pawn shop offered me a js22, gig bag, and a polishing kit for $96 so I had to take it. I thought it was a js11 until I brought it home and looked at the serial #...lol. Sounds killer through my 6505. My first non ltd electric in 20 years. This thing is a beast! lol....and only 139 (includes shipping) for new in the box js11's on ebay right now.

Love these guitars. Hope I get to try one out. In talking about your history. The first time I remember seeing a Jackson outside of the 80s hair metal scene was Ben Moody the original guitarist of Evanescence. He has a green soloist/dinky that I always really liked.

The hardtail trend must continue! A wraptail Cutlass HSS with no pickgaurd and direct mount pickups! Some wild colors on the bodies, and matching painted headstocks. Make it happen Fluff. Even Sterling versions could sell for decent money. $799 with active pickups and I'd be all over it. Don't think I'd be the only one.

Being raised on Jackson guitars in the 80s I can't get used to the truss rod adjust at the heel.

Very nice guitar! And nice color!... ( p.s.: Fluff, have you ever tried the neodymium magnet equipped Celestion speakers, like the neo Creamback or the neo V Type? Thanks! )

I’ve never owned a Jackson but played a bunch and they all played great. For sure on my list. I think the reverse headstock should be standard 😂. The new soloists look really sick!

Jackson will be coming in hard with their signatures in 2025. Last year, they signed up Lee Malia from BMTH, Mike Stringer from Spiritbox and IV from Sleep Token; guitarists from 3 of the biggest bands in metal right now (regardless of how you classify metal). They will be coming in hard and hot next year.

i wish they'd do something with the headstock to differentiate between USA and import. in the 80's, when you saw Jackson, you knew it was quality and custom shop because they were custom shop only. then they did an import line so you see jackson at a distance and it could be a 3k model or a 299 model. i feel the same way with Charvel. do the lipstick logo for USA and the stamp for everything else.
