Great historic instruments. Does it sound different from a modern digital synth? Yeah. Those instruments were quite an achievement in their day. Good of Cherry Audio to honor the history of synthesizer sounds and not just aim at what is popular now. Interesting that President Roosevelt got the first Novachord.
I wish that Cherry Audio had added a few additional tone controls. Kudos for historical authenticity, but SonicCouture has had a Kontakt-based NovaChord instrument for years. Even though it's sample-based, you can keep it in "Original mode" like the Cherry Audio version. Or you can switch to "Expanded mode, which offers more and more modern controls. It's still limited in what it can do, but it gives you more control over the sound and the more modern controls like Filter cutoff are easier to understand. That said, I'm sure that it's cheap, so I'll probably pick it up. I love the idea of a vacuum tube polysynth.
