- @CherryAudiovst takes us back to a true "golden age" of synthesis with the introduction of two new instruments that get their inspiration from some of the first synthesizers. The Novachord was revolutionary by 1938 standards and was one of the very first polyphonic synthesizers. These amazing instruments were featured on many award-winning and iconic movie soundtracks where they served to bring something different to the musical score.

Hi there. I actually own a model L solovox, that I have restored back to full working order. They are very sturdily designed and built. All the original bumblebee resistors and domino capacitors tested within tolerance. All the wax and electrolytic capacitors were replaced, along with the control and output transformers. There was one key whose contactor would stick, causing all the keys to the left of it to play the same pitch. But after some delicate contact cleaning it freed right up
That has to be amazing. My personal experience is keeping my XP-50 alive with leaky surface mount caps. When you have an instrument where the sound is there it is definitely worth doing what you can to preserve it.

@PraiseTracks thank you. I'm actually designing an attenuated line out for it, so i can send it to an audio processor and add effects to the output. And just for the record, the Novochord works on subtractive synthesis, each of the 72 notes having an oscillator bank capable of voltage dividing each note into its 3rd, 5th and 7th harmonics.
Your playing is WONDERFUL! Perfect to give me an idea of how it would sound when played in the proper style 😊🙏. Sounds VERY similar to the original. I wanted this but was a bit doubtful about how closely they could imitate such an iconic sound. Your playing convinced me completely, you should ask Cherry Audio for a check in the mail 😉

People like you keep the values of the past alive; this software is great, but you should play on a real instrument, preferably a theater organ!
Oh boy, yes I would love to find one of those crazy Wurlitzer Theatre organs. There was one north of me but I think they have since closed the location.
I totally agree that real is the ideal but for the rest of the time we have amazing companies like Cherry Audio who give us the sparks to keep the flames of nostalgia and legacy alive.
