You bring up a lot of great points. I don't think I have ever not thought of my irons going anything other than 1 distance. The point you made about not using a range finder resonates with me. If every golfer used even basic front middle back yardage data they would naturally make better club choice decisions. I have a uneekor launch monitor in my studio. I also use trackman and flightscope on range and course. Thanks for the comments and questions!
You shouldn't just rely on studio data as it is the most controlled environment you can be in. Highly suggest doing this over multiple days in various conditions. On grass, studio, cooler weather, warmer weather (in a perfect world).
