~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~
What makes this song so powerful is that you can hear it in his voice that he walked this walk. Despite it being written for him he made it his own through his lived experiences.
So, there's a video of his last concert, when he was an old man, and this song will make your allergies act up, for sure. The whole room was full of fans who'd grown up with Frank putting their emotions on wax, and the love was palpable. His hair was silver, his suit was perfect, and his eyes were just as blue as they ever were. This was his closing number, and as he got to the bridge, his voice began to crack. I promise you, Frank NEVER cracked. But he did, and the instant love and support that came from the audience for this man was indescribable. They cheered him, and encouraged him, and he finished out the song like the legend he was. It was beautiful.
According to news outlets and his family, the song "The Best Is Yet To Come" was the last song he performed. Maybe the video shows him singing My Way, and has him exiting the stage, but it was not the last song he sang.
So many lives touched by this song.
Ol' Blue Eyes...💙
Good one, Van. I think you might like "It Was A Very Good Year" by Frank. Life story song. Vivid pictures.
You should do more of Sinatra;
New York, New York
Summer Winds
Fly Me To The Moon,
I Got You Under My Skin
It Had To Be You
And so many more. You can’t lose with any thing he’s done. He was known as Ol Blue Eyes ♥️
Fly Me To The Moon is one of the catchiest tunes ever written!
Strangers In the night
These are the songs we listened to in the car as my father drove . We would complain .God I wish my father was still here . Thank you great song
This is the first time I've listened since my grandfathers funeral almost 20 years ago.... Still a great song.
Always has been and Always will be a Masterpiece
Especially Sung By Papa Frank Sinatra
I really love this song since I heard it as child. However, when I heard Elvis' version I was blown away. So to this day I will listen to both, but Elvis is my favorite version.
There’s been few songs like this that give that feeling of soaring up into the clouds. Such beautiful lyrics too especially for the time
For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself, then he has naught
Not to say the things that he truly feels
And not the words of someone who kneels
The record shows I took all the blows
And did it my way
He grabbed life and held on!!!
Ole blue eyes has my respect 👍
Love this song! My father in law had a gorgeous voice like Sinatra's and I can still hear him singing this. We are lucky that we he recorded it and we have his voice for ever! Gorgeous song and gorgeous voice!
My Grandfather was a Big Band Leader & he sang this so beautifully! I have such amazing memories of him. Thank God for his upbringing.
This song always reminds me of my favorite teacher who died weeks into my senior year of high school. My dad had an old 60's songbook and I learned it on piano and imagined myself singing it at his funeral, though it didn't happen. RIP Raymond Dornier!
This is my ish! I love me some Frank Sinatra! Ole Blue Eyes! Tjis song is great!
I remember my dad picking me up from hockey practice after tax season finished one year and he blasted this song the whole drive home (rewinding the tape deck each time). Now every time I get something big done I play it!
Frank was saying that real shit...
One of your best reactions. I could tell you were taking in every word from one of the greatest balladeers ever!
Inspirational song. Elvis did a great cover of this song live. 🎶🎸✌️😎
Sinatra is one of The Greatest of All Time. Not only singing about his life but CAN LISTEN to this song close their eyes and relive their own life, tribulations and successes. A Man’s man. A Man who broke down racist barriers. One of the GOATS!!!! Long live OL Blue Eyes
my Sinatra song.Just amazing
Frank Sinatra was Jon Bon Jovi's great uncle. In "It's My Life", Jon Bon Jovi sings the line, "My heart is like an open highway; like Frankie said, 'I did it My Way'" Frank's family called him Frankie. Jon Bon Jovi was inspired to pursue music due to his admiration of his Uncle Frankie.
#ItaliansDoEverythingBetter
i had no idea about this, and i take huge pride for being from new jersey because of bon jovi, and then today i find out frank is also from new jersey, and now i find out theyre family. what the heck
all u have to do is research. Impressed nonetheless true talent
Just imagine what you'll know tomorrow
Apparently this is false
Just wanted to say thanks for sharing great music and reactions. Always puts a smile on my face after a hard day! Thanks again !
Van Elvis did this song too and its amazing.✝️❤
This song has and always will be my personal anthem.
and not the words of one who kneels!
Every man and woman should hear this song, or any other song with this message. Especially today when so many run to an authoritarian figure to resolve even the smallest issues. Freedom has a price, and that price is that you do things your way, or give it your best at the minimum.
Thank you for this one, I've loved it since I was a girl, listening to Sinatra on the record player or radio. Only seeing him sing live in the movies back then. His voice is inimitably his own.
" I rather die on my feet then live on my knees" 💕💕💕💕💕💕 TRUTH
The One and only.R.I.P. Mr.Sinatra.
One of my favorite Sinatra songs!❤❤❤
I am just going through some of yout older videos, And sweetie this could be your song after the journey you have been on in the last year or so, I'm so proud of you!!
Maybe it’s just me but this song made me weepy this morning. 🥲 beautiful song, beautiful message. Thanks for bringing it to us, Van.
Yeah I had tears my eyes while I was listening to it too
I cry tears with so many emotions every time I hear this Masterpiece From Mr.Frank S.
THE KING OF ALL MUSIC FRANK SINATRA THATS LIFE!! NO COMPARISONS! STANDS ALONE!
We played this at my mom’s funeral. She died six years ago this month. Sinatra was her favorite singer & hope she’s listening to him now.
Aaahhhh finally, the Chairman of the Board.....a true legend!!
The Elvis version is one of the songs that'll be played at my funeral
This is the Italian National Anthem... We're all a part of the same family, so you can have it too. Much love my friend.
Seth Macfarlane (Family Guy) has a version of this song in the movie "Sing," for those who have not seen it.
Thank you. He was beyond an icon
Truly a beautiful song. My late Father's favorite, mine too...Much Love 🕊❤
Excellent reaction. Thank you
yes a French song and the song My Way is the English adaptation of the song As usual, composed by Jacques Revaux, Claude François and Gilles Thibaut, and originally performed, in 1967, by Claude François [1]. Adapted by Paul Anka, this version was popularized by Frank Sinatra's interpretation from 1969.
Nice! Check out Roy Clark singing Yesterday When I Was Young.
The song was written by Paul Anka Frank heard about Paul I asked him to write a song he could retire on Frank loved the song & was forever grateful to Paul Anka.
Yes! Frank Sinatra. Must listen to Luck Be A Lady! Thanks
This has been played at every mobster's funeral since the day it came out
And you know that because.......???
@@paulamahaffey4564 he’s been at a few
@@paulamahaffey4564 because it's pretty common for the media to cover high profile mob funerals. It's pretty well known.
Much love❤
FYI- The origin of " better to die on one's feet than to live on one's knees " is generally attributed to Emiliano Zapata (1879-1919) in regards to living under Diaz's dictatorship in Mexico.
This song today, today, in today’s social media environment is boss! Let every young man listen to the last verse and embrace it! Speak your mind, and do not kneel to the naysayers.
Brother this was great! Welcome to "The Voice". This was the song playing at my grandfather's funeral and I've made a vow. Should I know my time is coming, I want to play this song and know I did it my way.
I recommend all his songs, but if you want to hear what I personally say is one of the best vocal stretches ever. React to Ol man river....the one when he is older....absolute CHILLS
I was 12 when this song came out. Inunderstood it then and I understand it now.
I LOVE THAT SONG!! Always loved that song...
Sinatra was just an INCREDIBLE talent!!!
"For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; and not the words of one who kneels". Should be the first thing any man should learn growing up. That is just deep and freeing to hear.
You said it brother
Love love Sinatra. Blue eyes can sing it.
I love you. You get it.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Now you have to check out Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., he sang this song on America’s Got Talent and won, he’s still playing in Vegas.
Iconic Voice
It's awesome to see reactions to older stuff like this. It helps introduce young people to something better than all that mumble autotune nonsense.
Even though it came out in the 60s, it really has that classic big band swing vibe. Apparently Sinatra hated the song, coz he was worried people would see him as grandiose.
This song IS Frank Sinatra. He did do it his way.
I love this song. Other great singers have covered this and done a decent job, but none have ever come close to Frank.
Old classic bar (Karaoke Song) 👏👏💜
lfr U ARE THE BEST FOR ME , tnks from brazil
Thank you sir.
This song also came out after he had been semi pushed out by the rock and soul singers. This put him “back” on the map. Came out a decade before I was born, but I always loved this song and fly me to the moon and that’s life are my favorites by the Chairman of the Board, old blue eyes, Frank Sinatra!❤🎶🎵🎤❤️
the guy who adapted the french version of this song is Paul Anka
One of the greats
Have you heard him (or anyone) sing "High Hopes". It's a very positive, can-do song.
Paul Anka wrote this song for Frank Sinatra. I don't know if it's his biggest song, but it's a good one.
Frank Sinatra - fly me to the moon
For your information, This song was written for him, and about him ///by Paul Anka...Sinatra really di it his way.
This man didn't even wait 20 minutes before uploading the next reaction. I FUCKS WITH THE GRIND, UNC I FUCKS WITH IT HEAVY
Love this song!!! You should react of more songs from Frank Sinatra. Greetings from Lima, Perú.
Check out "When I was 17" ❤
This is the song I want played at my funeral
My Aunt Barbara was born in 1931.. she's long passed RIP.. but she was a teenager in the 40's and apparently Frankie was as popular as Elvis was in the 50's.. Girls were losing there minds over Frankie.. We don't really see all that. Frankie was an amazing Crooner.. Old Blue Eyes, the Chairman of the Board.. he made a difference in music also.
I cant like this video more. As a ny italian who grew up on this. This is a mans anthem. It is the words n feeling of a true man at the end of his time.
even couch cushion oh my goodness revolutionary
It's still a running joke in the Philippines that you look around when someone's singing "My Way" on a karaoke machine in a party.
great lad you are LFR
Imagine he was still around I would go to one o his shows
Many Singers from that time didnt write the music they sung. Some Of the Most famous classics are actually covers Like Hound Dog By Elvis.
Something isn’t just either singer-songwriter or a cover, as many songs are original versions of songs written by others, songwriting is a profession.
Sinatra was the shit plain and simple.
He did alot for the ireland and everyone. Some pup
Great reaction.
This was played at my uncles funeral many years ago but Elvis sang it. You ever listen to Gomer Pyle sings “The Impossible Dream”? Man it’s awesome too. More so than this in my opinion
Jim Neighbors had the most amazing singing voice. As children, my brother and I were always mesmerized when Gomer sang.
Italians loved FRANKIE......now check out his best friend Dean Martan.....had his own comedy show ( and friends with the MOB ). ( mis spelled Deans last name , it's Martin.........they ALL had connections"......
You the Man
Sweet!
Frank was a badass
Sinatra ♥
The lyrics are by Paul anka it was written for Frank Sinatra the music is from the French song only.
For me, the best line in the song is “Not to say the things that he truly feels
And not the words of someone who kneels
Let the record shows I took all the blows and did it my way”. Great reaction as always! Thank you.
My Way is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux.
Song is a man's declaration to life
It's a song every man wants to say he CAN sing on his death bed.
Love Frank. Grew up on it. He was "The Chairman ".
My favourite song of all time ❤️ thank you for reacting
I love watching the reactions to this song
Nice reaction, brother.
