Ah, so that explains the absense of the theme song all this while. It was the crock pot who sings it!
So, those guards (or whoever stopped you from sleeping in the parking lot) were absolutely right. Circus Circus is a horrible place to be after dark. There's a reason you were alone in that parking lot! I've lived in Vegas for nearly 20 years, and the North side of the Strip, behind the casinos, is one of those places you just don't go. You didn't get caught as much as you got some helpful advice!
Just park behind Bally's with all the other trucks and RVs!
just in case i ever drive down to Vegas and find myself around that area as the beautiful desert sun sets, what's the worst that could happen?

Either Henderson, Nelson, or Eldorado Lake Bed would be a better option than Vegas Strip. Lived here since 1986, I avoid Circus Circus and the Strat area at all times.
@@shuriKen469 there's some videos on here that kinda show it at night. You have a lot of drug addicts down that way, many of whom can be pretty violent. There's some gang activity and other things you just don't want to be in the vicinity of. Tourists are primary targets on those backstreets.
If I saw a crock-pot on top of a van in the middle of nowhere, I would think to myself, its foresty forest in his natural environment. Just a normal day in the desert.
You know , when I watch your videos pre Rocko I find myself instinctively looking for her. She's added another layer of joy to your adventures.
Me too! If she doesn't appear right away I start worrying if she's OK - then suddenly there she, is adding joy to another brilliant video.
Honestly, the channel was getting pretty stale the year or so before Rocco came on board. Rocco single handedly has revived my interest in this channel.

What a crazy fun episode! A Foresty van with a Las Vegas backdrop, a crockpot, on top of a van out in the wilderness with an extension cord, and a guy who can’t cook rice yet puts together the most amazing dinner to go on top of the rice package.
It was hilarious watching Rocko running on the bank trying to catch up with you. I’ve never seen a dog with so much energy, nothing gets in his way. You two make a good team.

I agree that Rocko is blessed with a lot of energy but for sheer running ability I don't think I've ever seen anything better than Andrew Camarata's dog Cody. Andrew goes cruising around his mountain top and Cody runs in front of him blazing a trail. He should be a greyhound.

Rocko still a pup really (although she's lived more of a life already than most dogs!... and people...). She'll calm down gradually and be less of a crazy maniac. She cracks me up though.
My pup is almost 10, still a crazy little dachshund!!!!

Huge fan of Forest Forest and Rocko. Please dont roast me ........... Rocko seems to be the dominate of the 2.... She is living life on her terms , not sure if its just the breed or Simon just lets her get away with it. The one video I saw when Simon tried to move her off a pillow and she showed her teeth in disapproval , or when she just helps herself to Simons food , not to mention the constant mooching is a sure sign. None of my business , just saying in IMHO a dog needs to know his or her place other wise the dog will have less respect for the owner. Everybody with a dog will have a different view. THATS JUST ME.

After four years of living in a van, I finally have a plate, so that's something to get excited about. You crack me up Foresty! Loved the adventure to Vegas in this one!
It's some good life advice as well, so many people, buy stuff because they think they need it, or because someone else has it. You even see it with many vanlifers as well, trying to fit a regular home with all their stuff into a van. I mean if you can do without plates, that's less baggage to haul around.
Although i do admit, one plate seems like a nice thing to have.
Dogs are always crazy their first few years…she is a good and smart girl…she will be even more awesome as she matures…
I said to Mrs Twiglet " Simon's taking a gamble - stealth camping in Las Vegas ! " she replied " I'll give you ten to one he gets busted ! "
The two lessons Mr Twiglet taught us are 1) Jack Russell's love jumping on tables 2) Jack Russell's eat everything in sight - literally.
Without realizing the danger, about two Christmas's ago we left a chocolate reindeer where he could get it - he bit the head off - foil and all and we spent Christmas night at the vets having him treated and parted with £260 in the process ! They're high energy dogs as you say and when i was upstairs practicing my keyboard he wanted to come up - Mrs Twiglet said " He wants to be with you " even though there was a comfortable bed for him to jump on to.I'm afraid we're attached as they say.Love him to bits.

Glad you seem to have made it safely in Vegas, higher than average number of bad people with nothing to lose and up to no good in that place.
100% correct on that one I went there towards the end of last year around November when the pandemic restrictions were a little lighter I saw multiple fights in the streets I simply assumed it was because of those pandemic checks that were being given out but apparently it's not gotten much better from what the news reports have said truly unfortunate because not too far from the strip there is some great BLM land with a nice one-way Loop you can ride a bike around or drive around to see the scenery

@@VanVonGoh 💯 I had a great time there for the most part to be honest it's easier to remember the bad stuff but considering the amount of people that were there and the fact that I only saw a couple of fights it's overall not that bad just worse than it used to be five or six years ago but if someone was young asking me about it I would tell them go check it out for yourself just be safe

sitting at the job site eating breakfast then I was hit with a singing crock pot and my morning beverage got launched all over my windshield lol!!! that opening is a instant classic!!!!
Chef here! "Perfect Rice Recipe"
- Water (or preferably broth) + Rice = 2 to 1 ratio = (2 liquid + 1 rice + 2 Tbsp butter)
- Wash rice
- Boil the liquid first with butter added - DO NOT ADD RICE INTO COLD LIQUID
- Add washed rice to hot liquid and bring back to boiling point
- Turn down to low simmer, cover and simmer for 15 minutes - DO NOT OPEN LID
- When done remove from heat, rest covered for 10 minutes - DO NOT OPEN LID
- When times up, fluff rice with fork

I love watching how Rocko goes off on his own private little excursions and yet always comes right back to you. It was neat watching him tearing up that shoreline keeping up with you. BTW, I was VERY glad to see that you tucked him into your shirt and gave him a bit of a rest on your way back to the van. He is full of energy but I bet even the Energizer Bunny stopped to rest occasionally.

My wife is from Santiago, about 16 hours from Canada flying, sedation would probably work. Lots of beautiful hikes, Patagonia and all that. Amazing people and food too :) we watch your videos in the camper every night in the US since the minivan days. Love the videos.

Yes, dogs are great companions, but they can also create limitations, but Foresty won't leave her behind. Foresty changing it up, doing some urban camping, exploring the Concrete Jungle. Being a 24hr city and a RV destination spot, its best to blend in with the RV crowd. Another scenic destination, take care and travel on !!

Honestly, when I saw where you were parking, I was concerned, that is a very dangerous area. I love the video and the beautiful scenery. I love how you put Rocco in your coat. She’s definitely living a good life. I totally understand what you mean when you don’t want to leave your pup/friend for a couple of months. I wouldn’t do that with my dog either.
Knowing Vegas I also cringed when he chose that area lol! There’s so many better/safer areas. Now he knows.

I boil two cups of water and then add one cup of rice, turn to low, slap a lid on it and don't touch it for 20 minutes and viola. For every cup of rice is two cups of liquid when you make it.

Welcome to Vegas... The security guards were right, the parking lot of any casino downtown isn't safe... I recommend you checking out Red Rock Canyon... That is where the climbers go... I love your lifestyle... You're definitely doing you, thank you 👏👏👏

I stealth camped in a casino parking lot once and nobody bothered me. Big difference from your attempt however. I did it during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and the casino in West Wendover, Nevada was closed. Plus I was in a mini-van with no outward signs of being a camper van. I was still spooked by all the empty parking spaces, so from then on I stealth camped exclusively in chain motel parking lots where I was a bit more comfortable as the lots were generally at least half full overnight.
You would not even believe how excited we were to see that crockpot 😂
Crockpot resurrection and the joy descended on the people and the pork did melt in the mouth.

Hey Foresty. Tim and Fin have a UA-cam channel and they bring their dog Pepper with them on flights. They usually use a soft shelled pet carrier and she goes with them into the cabin area. She just has to stay in her carrier. Worth looking into. Great video as always.

Just don't let a flight attendant order you to put the bag with a little dog inside up in the overhead compartment; this happened to a frenchy-pup owner & the dog suffocated to death.
If I couldn't keep my dog with me 100% of the time, I wouldn't fly with them. Way too life threatening for the pets.
Who knew that you could learn some cooking hacks from a van life adventurer, scraping the ginger with a spoon is way easier than grating. Awesome! Nice to see the trusty old Crockpot again!
