Best van life channel. No begging for sponsors, no ad, no complaining, no bling bling for your van,no shop! Stay true!
NO SOUP FOR YOU!
@BlueMountain Moth I think he meant no workshop when he said no shop. Good call on the stickers - time I got one for the butt end of my truck. 👍🏻
Those are my exact thoughts. I enjoy other UA-cam van channels but a certain UA-camr from Vancouver who I won’t mention lately has become very annoying with complaining and thinks he is the poster boy for people wanting to choose this lifestyle. His ego is just disgusting. Im glad I came across this channel a few months ago.
Exactly.
@@joelbecerra24 I think I know who you mean. I unsubbed to him. He became an arrogant prick.
We’ll take a rough sketch of Foresty Forest any day of the week! By the end of each video, a masterpiece is achieved ✨
Thanks so much for the shout out man! Absolutely love your content. Need to make another illustration soon and include Rocco. Safe travels.
Love the behind the scenes mate. May be boring mundane chores for you, but for us, we see a raw other side of van life that we are all curious about. Thank you again for sharing! Can't wait to bump into you somewhere in BC soon!
First he gets a plate.... Next he's gonna buy a chair with an armrest cup holder to set out on the ground and drink a beer. . He's a fascist bougeois!!!!!!

Completely agree - as someone who has never lived in a van, but is interested in doing so, these are exactly the things that I am interested in seeing.
You cook and eat better in your van than I do in my house. 350 for 20 minutes for rolls. I have a bread maker to make dough or bread. 300 W and three hours makes a great loaf.
Rocko always makes me smile.
Jon in rural BC, Canada
Off grid doesn’t mean you don’t have chores, keeping that small space clean is important and necessary to keep a guy’s mental health. Living the simple way keeps you more busy then you think! There’s only one person who cooks, cleans, and maintains everything but then again that’s the beauty of it!
Foresty, everytime you cook,
then take a couple bites, I wait for that
'dang, this is so good giggle'.
It's the Foresty Forest seal of approval.
I love you Lone Wolf.
You are producing videos as close to perfect as I can imagine. Your camera work and editing are astounding. I also love the inclusion of the 'mundane' things of life. Thanks for all the effort that must go into these. Without doubt this is my favorite channel.
I agree .The everyday things are just as interesting, it's real life as it happens
Connoisseur of cooking and hiking. I love how you keep vanlife real. And, Rocko is the perfect companion! Beautiful videography and editing. You make yo momma proud!
Watching Rocco roll around in the dirt at 5:40 made me laugh pretty hard.
Me too. That and hoovering up the meat that missed the pot. 😊
Rocco has the Best life with Foresty for sure 👍😃
Thanks for taking us all along for the ride. Best wishes from Portugal.
The behind the scenes look was very informative. Maybe you can incorporate more of that to show us what's involved in living the simple van life. Some beautiful panoramic views as usual. Be safe heading back to Canada.
I really appreciated the audio in this one, Foresty. The sizzling food, the rain, the clinking of things in the van. Good job with that. But I hope you get that windshield fixed pretty soon.
Love the content, Forest. I need to add as someone who’s worked in grocery stores a ballooned mean package almost always means the package was frozen, thawed and left un chilled for long enough to off gas. Going forward as a rule of thumb do not buy “ballooned” packages.
That is good to know, Thanks
I'm traveling vicariously through you. Being a senior mildly disabled old lady; it's the best I can do now. And I'm having big fun. Love your cooking too. Send me a plate. :)
Hi Forest!! We just got 2 jack russell pups... brother & sister. They're so cute! We love seeing Rocko in your videos! Cheers! ~M
@@Cyrus_The_Virus_00 That's awesome!!
Rocco has grown so much. Still hanging in there. Im sure he’s so happy and free out the mountains.
Rocco is a girl ❤️
Clean country living! Cheers Foresty and Rocko!!
Yes. Please do more Bushcraft stuff.
I love how much you love Utah. Born and raised here myself. Always full of adventure.
🎵♫♬🎶🎵Foresty Forest he lives in a van... Foresty Forest 🎵♫♬🎶🎵
This is my go to channel. Strait forward, honest and I'm captivated until the end. Your truly the professional of camping and hiking! I'll keep watching and thank you for showing your puppy, she is the icing on the cake! Have a great day!
Love all your videos ! With it warming up have you thought about Rocko and rattlesnakes ? You can take a class with her on rattlesnake aversion - they even use live snakes to teach the dogs to be afraid of them. And you can get the rattlesnake vaccine. I have seen a few dogs bit and had gotten the vaccine - it's mainly to buy you time to get to a veterinarian to then get the anti venom shots. Best to you both !!
I love making cheesesteaks at home! One tip I have is to make a line of your filling, put the cheese on top of that so it melts, and then lay your opened roll on top so it steams a little. Then slide your spatula under it all and do your best to flip everything over into your hand. Melty cheese and steamed bun really seals the deal!
I live in the Philly area but Im from Colorado. Cheese steaks can be a bit controversial around here. At the end of the day, it's meat, cheese and bread. Make it how you want. 😅
Always enjoy your videos but am most impressed over your care of Rocco, and her wardrobe!!
Thanks Foresty for a jam packed amazing video, the day to day plus amazing food and amazing land sites is like the amazing meals you make.... Very Nice indeed... amazing amazing amazing indeed, your short films are of extremely great quality and creativity ... there should be The You tube award of the year, you've got my vote
It actually was a fun video to watch. You and Rocco are so good together!
Just found your channel… so refreshingly different and love the end with the rain and the pup… no joke…If you had an hour of that I would still be watching it… so cathartic… safe travels
Hey Foresty forest, that was a fun video, beautiful scenery you always take us to such amazing and beautiful places. you and Rocco are amazing. You guys always make my day. You guys be safe out there and stay warm I always look forward to your next adventure, 🇺🇸♥️🙂👍🙏🐾🏔️🚐🇨🇦
❤ I love camping in the swell. It is my favorite places to be. I live north west in Vernal,UT 2.5 hrs from Swell. 😊 Enjoy it Country you will enjoy and explore like no other place on the planet. Don't forget to look for mines they're all over
I live and breathe for little Rocko. Such a happy little pooch adventuring the world with his favorite person. It makes my heart happy. ❤
Dogs truly are the best, and anyone who thinks otherwise is not to be trusted or invited over for tea.
Came here because of a reply you made on a “Camping with Steve” video and now you got a new sub! Love the outlook on life man!
I actually laughed at how totally non click baity the title choice is for this. Pure foresty honesty
That was a wonderful Ep! I really enjoyed the genuine day in a life of! Thank you!!
Those Philly cheesesteak sandwiches looked absolutely scrumptious! You were making my mouth water. If you ever wanted to branch out and do a third, strictly cooking channel (in addition to your two current channels of Foresty Forest and Moresty Forest), I think that it would be wildly popular. I know that I would watch it, for sure!
Good morning from Godley Texas, thanks for keeping it simple, real, and enjoyable. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
This was my first episode watching you. Totally enjoyed it. You have some skills in the kitchen, loved the clean-up going while you cooked with your furry partner.
Here’s how I make a cheese steak hoagie, is what we call them. Start by using sliced onions, and sautéed mushrooms, rough chopped steak, ribeye is good but any thin slice steak works. Layer on your skillet the meat on bottom onions and shrooms on top and then the cheese. I like to use Jalapeño cheeses or Swiss, then put the fresh bread, Portugese rolls are nice, fresh and soft. Place bread on top and let it all melt together, then grab a spatula and flip all of it over and onto the bun. Fold and tuck into it. Nice juicy and melted together. You can add spices like cayenne pepper, garlic powder, even curry it up to elevate it. Enjoy!
That's not a cheesesteak or a hoagie. Stop using Philly words and using them wrong lmao.
@@juliusscipio5542 try it, you won’t be disappointed. Doesn’t matter what it’s called. It’s the flavour profile that makes it’s a great grilled steak and cheese sandwich. Where I come from they are called grilled hoagies, not Philly’s, not subs!
I remember watching you cook from your crock pot and now your air fryer. All the meals seem so delicious and healthy and doable for a home cook like me. Your lifestyle, Rocko and character are all such positive vibes. I pray you both always have safe travels and a peaceful place to park and rest at the end of each day May God continue to bless your work and Merry Christmas !
I Enjoy watching your Video’s

I like these videos just as much. Hope you don't stop making them. Especially when you cook
Good evening Foresty Forest. I can’t believe how close you are to my house. I had open the back door and yelled good evening to you. That’s beautiful country out where you’re at. The perfect time of year.
👍👍
Always good to see one of your videos as you have such a chill, positive, healthy energy. The philly steak sandwich looked really good! I’d pour on some A-1 sauce...made me happy to see Rocco safe inside your coat near that huge drop off❤ blessings and much Aloha from the N. Santiam canyon 🙏💜🌎☮️🌎💜🙏🐾🐾
That looked delicious. Now I'm hungry and planning that for a future camping meal.
Rocco on the dash has me rollin.
Love these “day in a life” videos of you and Rocko! Thanks for sharing 💕🙏🏼👍🏼🐶😃
Yes to bushcrafting videos!
Good one! Really enjoy this. I feel MUCH less anxiety when I'm not biting my nails, worrying about Rocko taking a wrong step off the side of one of those tall ass, scary mountains. LOL
Your Philly cheese steak sandwich looked delicious!!! And I love how Rocko is on clean-up detail.
Another great video. Super excited about seeing your bushcraft builds!!
Hope the van is up and running soon! We miss you!
You’re my favorite UA-camr. Always so entertaining and interesting. Annnd … there’s Rocko ☺️
Nice to see the extra stuff like laundry and the day to day, first video of yours I've watched. The hike was cool either way
nothin like stayin up til 4:30 in the morning and catching up on a bunch of your videos…and thanks for making me hungry 😡 haha stay safe out there, amazing camera work
Your a good cook, a great hiker, a good nomad and a great dad. Love your videos.
Your simple life is so relaxing to see. But also inspiring.
🎶 _Livin' it up at the Motel Foresty Forest_ 🎶
The drive from California to Utah is amazing specially this time of year.
Love the behind the scenes, and that cheesesteak was authentic! Only mod I’d say is laying the cheese between the bread and meat, or cooking it right into the mix for even cheese-to-bite distribution
12:27 Just amazing. Thank You God for You made the earth beautiful.
15:30 Mira and I ride through there on the Western Wildlands route while heading south. Great that you and the doggo had time to check it out. Enjoyed the relaxing vibe 👍
"Every day is a blank canvas, it is what you make out of it." Wisest words, Forest! That's the secret to a fulfilling and purposeful life.
Stay safe. Look forward to the bush crafting!
Keep coming back for these.
Hi Foresty Forest and Rocko! Have a great day! ❤
Those staring cows made me LOL. 😁😊
That sandwich looked so good! I’ve been on a Philly steak cheese kick lately. I found a brand called Gary’s frozen chopped steaks and they are so good! Easy to make. Love your channel and binge watching
Thanks for the video. Enjoy Utah man. One of those states just full of adventure!
Mayo, along the crease in the bread is GREAT.
Nice! That Philly cheese steak looked amazing!! Hey, are you ever going to make some Canadian delicacies like poutine?
My GF is from Philiy and apparently an authentic cheesesteak has cheese wiz (cheese in a can). Which damn that sounds gross, but I'm sure it's good.
Good work as usual! You make this type of story telling look easy, and it's not.
Hey, I live an hour from Philly, and yes, it's Cheese Wiz what they use over at Pat's Steaks where the Philly Cheesesteak was first made. It has to be melted before being slathered on top of the steak and onions on the roll. But provolone and/or American is a good substitution as well.
Yeah I grew up in Philly and cheez whiz is not the preferred way of eating a cheese steak. Sharp Italian provolone. Slice nice and thin. Only tourists like the cheez whiz. And yeah they don't use it for my can they dumped it in the bat that heats it and melts it. Think Kraft singles melted down.
Whiz isn't from a can and locals do eat it with whiz. Hence the term whiz wit or whiz witout.
You are correct that it's basically Kraft singles melted down lmao.
Also, when people in Philly refer to American cheese we mean deli American, not Kraft singles.
Good video awesome looking philly steak sand. Becareful out there Simon take care of that baby. ❤️🐶👍💯
Philly native here…the most authentic is on bread from a bakery, ribeye steak with onion and peppers and cheese whiz. If it has marinara and provolone it’s considered a pizza steak. Yours looked amazing though!
No one puts bell peppers on a cheesesteak in Philly. They might put long hots or cherry peppers on them but then that is a peppersteak.
@@juliusscipio5542 Delassandros does.
Then they are lost and have succumbed to the dark side. Crunchy green bell peppers on a cheesesteak is a violation. Also they fell off after covid anyway.
yeah its mundane but, sitting here in glasgow, the central belt of scotland, on a cold windy sunless day, this is a little bit of magic,
Great video, you have given ROCKO the best life a dog could ask for...outdoor adventures, a comfortable home and good companionship....interaction with other dogs would be nice but she probably doesn't mind!!
This was a fun one. I like seeing the beard and mustache come back.😀
I love watching your daily routine and I can’t get over how you have a wood fire stove in your van. I’m sitting here by my wood fire stove in the house and always chopping my wood but it’s fun watching you do that and knowing that it’s in a van that’s so different. Thank you for making his great videos.
What an awesome episode. Town day, oh yeah ! I love when you take us with you into town. That camera shot inside the dryer 😄 🤣....so great. The sub looked so good too !
That custom knife was amazing Simon. Thank you for doing this show man. I love your channel buddy ❤️....
Come to New England !!! There's tons of hiking up here dude ! You could cross America thru Montana and North Dakota, NY state. Vermont.
Come say hi dude !!!! There's great mountains in the Northeast homie....
What an episode....smh 👏 👏 👏....
Spent the day in Zion National Park. Traveling in Utah in our van at the moment. Utah is a beautiful state. A bit underrated.
Those stones you wanted to drive up look like it was a building of some sort at one time. One never knows who built what in those place once upon a time.
You produce very good content. Enjoy your videos! Thank you.
The smile @9:00, magic
In the Philadelphia PA region you can choose to have sauce if you like
Thanks best time of the week when you post :)
I say “Hey Roccooo!” In my head,Rocky style, every time I see Rocco
Eat it with some pickled hot or mild peppers. Dont need sauce but peppers go a long way. Also try it with cheez wiz.
i love that Rocko got her ribeye tax :) she snuck right up there and snagged that steak :) such a beautiful little lady!
Totally agreed. A chimney sticking out your van would look kinda Beverly hill Billy lol Happy that matters to you !!!
Was a great uplift to see this video! Enjoyed even the little things....
Comments on the sandwich: Cook the bread first. Then sweat the onions and peppers, but stop just short of them being done. With about 5 minutes left on the bread, start the steak. When it's just about ready, pop the peppers and onions back in to warm through. Top with cheese IN THE PAN and let it melt over all of it (rather than heating the cheese in the oven, because this just hardens the bread too much). Mayo for sauce.
Super cool driftwood/dried wood at 12:18.
lol foresty doing the shopping run/shots Legend buddy, love ya vids keep doing ya thang 👍
I'm ready to move in with you and your pup! Just living the life with no fuss or mess - perfect!
My algorithm just recommended Hungarian Goulash out of nowhere. Looks delicious. Perhaps you can try it sometime. One of the ingredients is your favorite i.e. paprika. Caraway seeds is also mentioned (don't know what that is).
Glad you moved south out of the frozen tundra. Beautiful country but entirely too cold!! Good to see Rocco doing clean-up duty while you cooked. She is a great addition to the channel and a wonderful companion to you.
Would love to see you build some bushcraft shelters and potentially stay in them when they’re completed.
There’s a great book called Simple Shelters by Jonathan Horning that would have some great ideas
The best channel on UA-cam
I’m from Philly you did good! If you put tomato sauce on it , it would be a pizza steak. We usually only fry onions and not peppers. Melt the cheese on top of the meat in the frying pan.❤
Great video as always. So there are two different varieties. One has provolone cheese ( Pats) and one has cheese whiz one has only meat and cheese the other has veggies.
I especially like the wood burning stove!!! you can get wood anywhere and a rechargeable saw so you could live extended period of time in isolated areas if you were snow bound and not freeze to death ! maybe some videos on how to catch animals and clean them for eating !!!!! and recipes for them
