Good to see you reviving this old vogue, we are a land rover specialist south of Birmingham and we see plenty of sports, vogues, evoques etc that need this kind of attention on a regular basis. I think it deserves a new shiny exhaust to let a bit of that V8 out, this is looking absolutely amazing now, love people restoring 2000s cars as they won't be around forever
cars built in the 2000's were pretty well made, the only one that has let me down is my mercedes ML320,it's been sat on my drive for two years and would cost way more to get fixed than it's worth,i love that car but i think the time has come to let it go.
I’ve recently purchased an L322 myself and have followed your videos since you bought yours. I’d like to see some suspension fixes as mine has a few creaks and knocks from the rear, but loving the more repair side of your videos.
Would like to see the underside cleaned off ( ice blast?) then under sealed. Don’t bother about the fancy stuff to ‘make it sound better’... put the money into (1) properly up and running and (2) long term ownership value. It will reward you more than an occasional growl from the tail pipe.
Keep the tow bar. If you don't have parking sensors they're great for letting you know when you've gone back far enough. Plus as you're in London having a tow bar is essential for dealing Uber. I owned an ex AA Range Rover in the 90's that had front and rear tow bars. They were great for letting other motorists know where their skid / attitude problem ended. As for the exhaust. Just take it off, scrub it clean and paint with a suitable high temp paint
Finding a good quality Land Rover specialist is a must. Well done to Richmond for reaching out to you Joel. They are much cheaper that a dealer and most importantly, only do what's is required rather than a dealer trying to mis-sell you service items you car does not need.
Problem with a towbar is that they rust terrible overtime. If you don't be early in removing the rust it effects also the cars body. Either replace the towbar connections to the cars body or if you don't use it, remove it as soon as possible so you can safe the cars connection points.
Would be nice to see a bit more promotion of the garage/interaction with their staff, think given the help they’ve offered it would only be fair. Matt Armstrong perfect example of this.
Amazing work, good luck! Had an m62 once but in my country is super hard to find parts :( what a shame. Its a good engine, not that reliable but still a good one.

Did Richmond LR cover all costs, or just labour? I ran a Disco3 for several years - same platform as RR Sport. The parts are expensive; ~400 for suspension compressor and ~1000 for electric park brake assembly IIRC. And labour costs are high as so much is hard to get to. Sometimes LR parts dry up. My Disco3 was off road for 5 weeks once, waiting for a new turbo cross pipe. The first cross pipe had cracked due to not being bolted in properly. So you really do need to find a good specialist (not a dealer) as the design is idiosyncratic. Both cross pipe changes were ~1000. Once you start down this path you're subject to the sunk cost fallacy. You'll spend 2 or 3K, think all is OK for a few weeks or months, then another horribly expensive issue will pop up. And you'll do it, because you'll be thinking, just one more fix and it will be right. :) I gave up after 8 years and 10K on non-MOT/service repairs. Final thought: if you want cheap reliable V8 power, Merc is the way to go. Get something with the M113 V8 (4.3, 5.0, 5.4) fitted to late 90s early 2000s CLK, E, ML. Those engines are bulletproof, and won't give you nasty surprises like the Audi V8 engine out for timing chain issue.
While it's nice they reached out for you and are cutting you a deal, they wouldn't be doing that if you didn't have a channel. A garage should do top quality work regardless of the situation or who they are dealing with
So they did the breather pipes but not he notorious PCV valve on the back of the manifold?? Get that changed out too....before it over pressurises the crank case and blows oil over everything....common M62 issue!
Agree! And ah like what we saw the condition of cracked valve cover gasket! well then oh boy i think the valley pan gasket needs to be changed as well 🙄💀🤣

Some of them are removable with a key so u can store them in the boot
@@urban_fox_cub_urbex ah fair enough
I would also keep the tow bar, if someone hits the back end of the car they will hit the tow bar and not break the parking sensors and damaging them!
If you're off roading they just get in the way and ruin departure angles and if you don't have a trailer may as well take it off.
